**What do you like best about Cypress?**

I like that Cypress is very easy to set up and start using. The tests run fast and the live preview helps me debug issues quickly. The best part is that everything runs in the browser so I can actually see what is happening step by step. The documentation is clear and the community support is strong. It works well for modern web apps and gives stable results.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

The main downside is that Cypress does not support multiple browser tabs or windows very well. Handling iframes can also be tricky in some cases. Sometimes tests run slower when the app has too many API calls. The tool is focused on JavaScript so teams using other languages may feel limited. Integration with cross browser testing platforms can take extra setup.

**What problems is Cypress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cypress is helping us automate regression tests and reduce the manual testing effort. It gives quick feedback on UI changes and helps us catch issues early in the development cycle. We use it to test workflows, form validations, API responses and data display. It also improves collaboration because developers can run the same tests easily on their machines. Overall it saves time, improves quality and speeds up releases.

**What do you like best about Cypress?**

Besides what every automation framework offers, Cypress has best debugging tool, Testeplay in cloud is robust tool which allows me to look at every snapshot and interact with DOM, also very robust analytics and run comparisons across branches.

Scalability is a bit issue, as longer tests tend to fail due to OOM

If you _do_ stumble on a quirk or bug, it can occasionally be slow to get to a resolution. Almost too flexible - lots of ways to achieve the same outcome can lead to inconsistency?

**What problems is Cypress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cypress gives us confidence our features work end-to-end, and do not regress. Especially with major projects, Cypress means we can fearlessly make changes without having to manually test much at all.

**What do you like best about Cypress?**

Test Execution and reporting, Cypress is very fast and in terms of test execution and also provides a great support for using different browsers to run test cases. It very easy to integrate cypress with cucumber and generate report. 

Its quite easy to implement test cases in the cypress and add and extend functionality which helps to lower the time of overall maintenance of your automation framework. The support and documentation available for cypress is also very helpful and provides great insights.

We have automated our smoke packs and regression packs which run on daily basis to fetch the health of the application.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

The licensed version offers dashboard functionality, but the free version doesn't have that

Cypress is help with our UI automation testing, helping us to automate end to end test and bringing down the overall time of execution

**What do you like best about Cypress?**

Cypress is a very user-friendly testing framework for web testing on non-demanding projects with well-structured documentation. Since it uses its own engine for the automation, the tests automated with Cypress are much faster in comparison to the other frameworks. Moreover, Cypress suggests a lot of additional features, including video recording of test runs and time-travel capabilities, significantly speeding up the the development and debugging of the test cases.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

Despite its benefits, I believe Cypress may not be optimal for large-scale projects. In my opinion, Cypress is the best option when you need to automate some user scenarios quickly with minimal effort. However, the style of scripting of the test cases in Cypress and also the lack of its built-in support for testing across multiple tabs/windows makes it less suitable for larger projects.

In my opinion, Cypress is the best tool if you need to quickly automate the testing of small and simple web apps. The way Cypress is built and its additional debugging features make the automation process very fast and convenient.

**What do you like best about Cypress?**

The best part is that its simple to learn. Doesn't has a UI that overwhelm you, moreover I love their documentation. Its clear and concise.
Another great thing is that its perfectly integrated with Node.js and also that we do not need any third party driver to install it makes it very user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

There are a few things which I dislike about cypress, firstly we are only allowed to use javascript. Another disadvantage is that there is no mobile support available.

We are using it for regression testing and api test and it definitely helped us cut costs and save time.

**What do you like best about Cypress?**

I first used it when I was working at Amazon. The fact that it was so easily integrated into our systems and used for front end changes testing without actually deploying the code made my life so easy. Being a frontend engineer, the number of times I had to rely on it was uncountable. It was so easy to use and gave a detailed report whenever the test cases were failing.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

Sometimes it was quite browser dependent, meaning cypress tests didn't run properly on firefox whereas they ran properly on chrome. I guess this was the only problem i faced in my tenure at Amazon

**What problems is Cypress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of testing the UI changes without actually deploying them again and again reduces the testing time and increases our productivity many folds.

One of the things I like best about Cypress is its ability to perform E2E testing effectively.
The tool is user-friendly and easy to set up, which makes it accessible for developers of all levels.
Additionally, the developer experience is great, with the Cypress Dashboard providing useful debugging tools and insights.

One of the downsides of Cypress is that it requires the app to be launched in another process, whether in a local environment or in production. I am using cypress from last 3 years this is one of the best tool for the end to end testing and it's very fast compare to selenium and easy to use and learn if you know javascript basics

I would say that I like the most the documentation provided by the Cypress team and the fact that you can find solutions for hickups on the Internet.
Interacting with the elements using Cypress is easy, and can help writing end to end tests, being able to test both UI and Backend / APIs with Cypress.

I do not have any cons related to Cypress.

Implementing an automation framework via Cypress can reduce the testing times, helping the QA teams to have time to focus on the new features rather than performing regression testing, when Cypress can do it faster  and probably more reliable (according to the written automation tests).

I love that you can run your test in a browser and see all of them running in real-time. This gives you a great vantage point into your test suites, so you can see exactly where issues may be occurring.

Mocking APIs in Cypress is not always super straightforward and can take some getting used to. I also feel like unit testing could be a bit more intuitive as well.

Cypress helps in two major ways. One, when used in TDD, it ensures the code we write is doing what we it expect it to. And as part of our CI/CD, we are able to ensure new features don't introduce regressions.

**What do you like best about Cypress?**

Cypress ensures that the demands for debugging is less & we can run identical event loop using our code quickly. Whenever we query an element, Cypress waits for a while and initiates auto-retry when the required results are not found immediately. We can inspect our web application, network, storage & any Document Object Model (DOM) using the Cypress platform.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

Nothing in particular to be mentioned as a dislikable feature in Cypress. It covers our test goals, creates test case designs, and incorporates logical conditions within a program module. It makes use of source maps to enhance great error approachability.

**What problems is Cypress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cypress provides excellent analytics, which helps us understand test trends & test cases that frequently fail after our application deployment. We obtain excellent network traffic control & Cypress also promotes cross-browser testing capabilities. Its error handling protocols are also splendid since it initiates auto-recovery as soon as the timeout condition lapses.

Cypress is easy to use, easy to knowledge, easy to find elements to create the tests, and perfectly integrated with Node.Js, and is good too for doing tests of APIs Restful. Much faster and stabilized in comparison to Selenium

Cypress is easy to set up and has multi-faceted solutions for whatever your test needs may be. At first glance, it seems like a one-trick web UI e2e solution. But upon further use you will quickly realized this tool can be used for so much more.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

Cypress has its flaws, starting off as a Chrome browser-only solution is a big drawback. Once you get past that and begin using it you will quickly find out they've been hard at work adding more browsers like Firefox and Edge. No mobile support creates a tough choice for some teams if they want to have a one-trick solution for all automated testing.

**Recommendations to others considering Cypress:**

If you're looking to automate your Web UI or API services this tool can help you achieve it fully. Integrates well with any CI/CD tool and will elevate your release cycle right away.

**What problems is Cypress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web UI automated testing that is quick, lightweight, and reliable. Our e2e test run times were drastically decreased by switching from Nightwatch. Our engineers do not have to wait hours for a full regression to run now, it's able to be completed within an hour.

**What do you like best about Cypress?**

Easy to set up and understand. The official website provides abundant documentation and resources so that we have clear information to write the tests. I integrate it with the VueJS framework without having too much trouble.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

Sometimes the test just failed randomly on different machines due to some unprecedented errors and I need to spend the extra time to figure out what happened. Also, the gap in price between the free plan and the team plan is too large. I am in a very small team with only 3 people. I am willing to pay for the plan, but I want more test results rather than having 10 users. I don't want to pay $75 for 10 users I don't need. 500 test results for the free plan is a bit of stingy. It'd be great if they can provide another plan between the free plan and the team plan.

Cypress provides an easy way for developers to test the website or API very quickly. My team is quite small, and we don't have any QA engineers, and I can use Cypress to maintain the test baseline.

Syntax seemed very similar to JEST and thus was very easy to follow the documentation and write quick test cases. Integrating it with the Angular framework was well explained in the documentation.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

The community is small, and documentation is clear enough to implement most cases. It would be great if we get more examples in the documentation. The limit for the free version can be increased

We are using it for automation testing on our client portal, and so far, we have no issues, and the UI cypress provides very clear and easy to use for everyone irrespective of the expertise in the company

Everythign about cypress is absolutely incredible.  From a built-in debugger, to automatic retries, waits, etc... Cypress really doesn't leave anything out.  Beautiful reports are also included!

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

There isn't anything that I dislike about cypress. As I said above, it seems that Cypress has thought of everything that needs to be included in a test automation framework that will work today, tomorrow, and for many years to come!

**Recommendations to others considering Cypress:**

Forget selenium and just switch to cypress today!

**What problems is Cypress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Cypress to perform automated testing, across the board (integration testing, regression testing, ui testing, api testing, etc).  We have realized that the benefits of using cypress are head-and-shoulders above all other test automation frameworks for web testing that there are currently on the market

**What do you like best about Cypress?**

It is one of the best software testing tools that I have ever used. It can be installed in systems easily without any third-party drivers. It can be installed easily. When using tests on web pages specifically for single page applications, it provides best results with features such as time travel, video recording, image capturing, etc.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

During the test run, I have encountered several bugs in Cypress. Bugs such as detached from DOM, driving towards infinite loop within a particular scenario, specifically in behavior-driven development tests, are annoying and need to re-run tests. In some cases, I have even encountered issues such as test will run for only half scenario, and due to the multiple thread mechanism it follows, the current running scenario will be skipped. The developers are working further on these issues as per their remarks.

**Recommendations to others considering Cypress:**

Well, I have spent hours on the internet looking for proper software testing tools and have found tools such as selenium, Nightwatch, etc. But none of them were as good as cypress. Even though they have bugs in them, the developers are working on that, and within some period of given time, they will provide all the required functionalities such as multiple browser support, etc.

**What problems is Cypress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For any software testing tool, if it does not provide proper debugging methods, it isn't easy to use the software for testing the software, which isn't true in the case of Cypress. It provides features such as time travel which makes testing very easy and reliable.

Cypress is the best application as it is very fast and easy to use. It provides a very simple and good overview of errors and bugs.

Cypress does not support tab switching and it doesn't support all the languages like JAVA so these are the things I dislike about cypress.

Cypress resolved our problems like it takes very little time to execute the code hence it is time and cost-effective.

I love that Cypress allows you to write end-to-end tests in the same way you would write unit and integration tests within the React / Javascript environment. I also love that they integrate with the React Testing Library to make asserts seamless also.

The inability to change domains can be a bit cumbersome (and a blocker) when you're trying to test an application with authentication that is from another vendor like Microsoft.

The initial adoption takes a bit of time as one needs to really brush up their JS skills.
Better documentation and tutorials keeping QA team in mind could really be helpful.

The idea is to have complete E2E tests and run against real server and environment.

Cypress recording does not work on Gitlab Continuous Integration (CI) without customization.  Their tech support says you have to configure custom runners with more memory.  I had been paying for Cypress for months before I discovered their recording wasn't working.  When I asked for a refund, they refused.  So now I am looking for a replacement.  Bye Cypress!

Make sure Cypress can record your test scenarios.  Check that Cypress recorded the entire test case and didn't merely record the beginning of the test and drop the rest of the recording.

Cypress is a stable automated testing tool. I previously used Selenium-based testing frameworks, but I quickly fed up with them because of their flakiness. Running them in CI/CD pipelines were a nightmare. Then came cypress, with their prebuilt docker images which can be used, and I was able to set up testing in CI/CD in a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

The only downside is the mentality of my customers, who feel like Selenium-based solutions have worked for them before and they don't want to change.

Read the documentation, and their blog. They have excellent advice on flaky tests, and other important things as well.

On a day-to-day basis, I use cypress to test the applications I build on a functional and integration level. Cypress is fast, and it is stable. I was able to quickly set it up in several CI/CD pipelines and it records videos which I can use for debugging something more easily later.

I once used it to migrate several years of budget tracking data from a csv into an iOS application using the application's webapp. :)

Cypress is an incredible e2e testing tool that is not only easy to setup but easy to use.  The community is outstanding, the documentation is second to none, and it is not even comparable to selenium.  Setting up the framework took no time and all and we were writing tests in a matter of minutes.  The fact that we do not have the flakiness to deal with, the test runner is wonderful, and as a non-programmer by trade, I am able to easily write tests makes Cypress my new number one go to for automation.  Absolutely fantastic!

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

Sometimes when our app is slow we get some timeouts and I don't want to add any waits but honestly, I don't think this is the fault of Cypress, this would happen either way.  Honestly, I do not have any dislikes with this product.  It was new to me and I was able to pick it up very quickly and any issues I have had I have been able to solve with my team and the Cypress community and documentation.

Just do it!  Stop using Selenium and Cucmber or similar and just make the plunge.  It is so much better!

Cypress does not depend upon so many other testing tools like selenium and web drivers. It also has some additional features like the time travel feature, which helps a lot while debugging the failed tests. It also has a dashboard where users can see test logs.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

It is hard to automate web apps with a lot of iframes. Also, cypress has some really annoying issues such as sometimes it says that tests pass without executing all the steps. It has support for dynamic waits (and auto wait), but if I want to call a function recursively if the element that the function search for is not found, by using try-catch-recursive call, call it is not possible to do so.

**What problems is Cypress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As the primary use of cypress is for test automation, I have been using this app mostly for automating the web UI tests. I had experience with other tools like selenium, Nightwatch, jest, and puppeteer before I started testing a new project using cypress. And it was easy for me to cope with the syntax of cypress. So, if you have hands-on knowledge of Javascript then cypress is not very hard to start with. Also, it provides a lot of functions that make automation challenges really easy. For example, drag and drop operation, wait for search results to appear, etc. It is gaining a lot of popularity and I think cypress deserves it.

Cypress is incredibly easy to set up and has everything you need in order to get started on your testing right out of the box. I have not run into a testing scenario that Cypress has not been able to solve from functionality all the way down to performance. Cypress also offers parallelization which has been great for reducing CI build times, which is a huge bonus. Overall Cypress has made testing less of a hassle than any other framework I've used thus far.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

It would be nice to have testing life cycle hooks for async tasks such as clearing a database with the built-in ability to wait for the async tasks to complete. It would also be great to have built-in tools for working with file uploads.

Take advantage of custom commands! Your own custom ones along with the many on GitHub.

**What problems is Cypress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Cypress to test my apps from the user's perspective and from as many different angles as possible. This allows me to confidently make changes to my app without feeling as though I've introduced bugs in various places within the app. It has also allowed me to spot visual bugs that I would have never noticed due to the Cypress runner's visual UI.

So many of the issues and gripes that I have had with Selenium based testing over the years are addressed in Cypress. The default setup is a great start and customization is intuitive and easy to implement. The documentation is some of the best I have ever seen. And the UI makes it easier to reason with test writing and debugging.

I spent 4+ years away from web (testing mobile apps), and it was so refreshing to come back to web testing and see that I will never need to use Selenium again!

When something goes wrong at the Cypress level, it can still sometimes be hard to figure out what has happened. With a quick search, I can usually find a workaround or solution in Github issues given how responsive the team is there.

Cypress makes testing easier and fun. As it's directly embedded in to the browser web testing can be supported with checking for network calls. No other tool provides this feature.
Documentation is super clear and helpful. There's not topic of cypress for which the documentation doesn't exists.
The best part is test runnner. It makes running and debugging cypress tests convenient.

Cypress Community is helpful and growing. Be it linkedIn group or individual slack communities. People are always willing to share the information about cypress.

Cypress is quite modern in terms of running in the CI pipelines or running as a docker container. There are already docker images present on docker hub where you can run your entire test suite with one command.

They recently came out with an awesome feature of slack integration which makes it easier to know the tests runs status without having to navigate to CI/CD pipelines.

The feature that wins and makes cypress the best tool in the market is cypress dashboard. It has all the information about the test runs.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

There should be a slack community where we can ask questions/doubts related to cypress. Individual communities do exists and there's also a forum but slack would be cool. I might be wrong and a community might exist already.

Automate the testing which was done manually.
e2e testing is quite easy as you can make API calls, web and also listen to network calls..

Cypress is a great tool for E2E testing.   Cypress is easy to setup, if you are using Typescript or JavaScript.   Documentation for cypress is one of the best I have seen in my over 20+ years in software development.   All the available commands, and the ability to add custom commands improve test structures and allow re-usability of common testing task, for example logging in.  The test runner for cypress is amazing, it gives you the ability to run one or more test files, gives you the ability to find issues easy, and full access to developer tools in your tests.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

Some of the `paid` only features that can help the community, specifically running test in parallel would be great if that is possible to do locally, or even in the free tier for the Dashboard.   As we write more and more tests, some organizations have stricter rules about what tools to use, giving these organization some of these benefits can help the entire community

**What problems is Cypress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Cypress to automate our testing for website that had zero if any cypress automation.  The ease of use and the ability to bring QA team up to speed on using cypress and writing tests has been the greatest benefit so far

**What do you like best about Cypress?**

I love the way Cypress can handle TDD. It can replace opening Chrome on its own completely. The tests are intuitive to write, have simple API and their execution is so fast that probably 99% of the features are faster to implement by writing a test first than to manually interact with the browser.

API stubbing is great too because it allows creating an isolated environment that does not touch the backend API. This can provide an additional layer of security and efficiency to your development flow. APIs can change, but the front end developers can still develop features using specific data fixtures without creating a full backend mock API clone. 

The simplicity of the usage is definitely attributed to the amazing and thorough official documentation.

**What do you dislike about Cypress?**

There is no official "drag and drop" command at the time of writing. There is a workaround by triggering mousedown, mousemove and mouseup event and it works well, but I would prefer a drag command with options parameter so the step count between point A and B can be specified. 

Cross-browser support would be a huge upgrade. But, the Cypress team is already working on it so it will probably be available in the close future!

A nice solution for delivering UI applications with stability and reliability. Recommended for developers to improve their flow for creating new features and screens.

**What problems is Cypress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Cypress to develop new features by applying TDD principles. This way we can upgrade the application, create new features or update existing while also relying on things to just work. It's an amazing flow of reliability. Cypress also helped us discover hard to replicate bugs that required multiple steps of user interaction that manually took at least a minute and a half to replicate. That same manual test written in cypress took about 6 seconds. I can not imagine developing front-end without it now.
