There's really nothing to compare to how rich the data is. This is the gold standard for analyzing data and tracking the freight market. My team and I use it daily to track the market. We also use the API to help predict prices and feed our pricing models. The support team is great - whenever we encounter an issue or a question, they respond right away. There's been a couple rate cases where there was an issue, and those were resolved almost immediately. It also has a very easy learning curve - you can be up and running in just a minute. **What do you dislike about SONAR?** The main downside is sifting through the wide range of data to find exactly what you need. There's so many potential options, that sometimes it's a little bit of work to find exactly what I need. Also, it would be easier to use market dashboard + if there were a feature to extract only the needed columns on the data download. It also only publishes data on market dashboard for the lanes that have the correct inputs, but it would be nice to have those same rows publish on the download, but only remain blank. So, if I enter 100 lanes, but 3 of them are not recognized, it will provide 97 lanes back, but I will have to search for the lanes that are missing to be able to copy and paste that data in my original formatted spreadsheet that is 100 lanes. **What problems is SONAR solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are utilizing SONAR for market trends and analysis at a macro/micro level across the freight markets, but also use market dashboard and market dashboard + for real-time rate analysis and benchmarking. We love the market data with the maps to make the best business decisions along with rates the way you like to view them. **What do you dislike about SONAR?** I can't call it a downside because we haven't used the intermodal rating engine yet but I'd say that feature isn't one I would recommend just yet. **What problems is SONAR solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tender rejections are a great indicator of the market and how we price for the day as well as the future. The heat map of markets is very useful as well for planning. ### 45. Our rep Todd is always responsive and willing to assist with any projects we need Sonar's information for. I also like the simplicity of entering the zip ranges. The abiity to enter multiple zip's and upload is an added bonus. I find myself using Sonar several times a week. Keep up the great work **What do you dislike about SONAR?** I wish it was easier to find Air rates and CO2 info for Air as well. **What problems is SONAR solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sonar is solving the problem of knowing what the spot vs contracted market is doing and how it is trending. I need the information for expedite contract I have and to confirm if I should switch from spot to contracted for certain highly used lanes. ### 46. The interface is easy to use, and our rep Jarred is always available to provide his industry knowledge and help. **What do you dislike about SONAR?** There are some concerns with accuracy on shorter lanes. Sometimes the given value is much lower than the actual rate. **What problems is SONAR solving and how is that benefiting you?** We mainly utilize Sonar to rate our lanes against the current market, as well as see if the spot quotes we're receiving are competitive. When tabbing to the destination, it would be nice if the current destination was auto highlighted so you could just type over what was in there. This is nit picky but when running mulitple lanes per day this would significantly increase efficiency. **What problems is SONAR solving and how is that benefiting you?** SONAR is providing realtime data into the market, the volume and rejections, helping us better coach our operations team and helping us make better business decisions with prospective TMS clients. ### 49. The dashboard allows you to map selected lanes and identify current pricing and trends. **What do you dislike about SONAR?** SONAR is very cumbersome and requires additional licenses to create an index. The whole platform feels like we are being charged excessively for data that should be part of the package. We will be exploring other platforms in the future; SONAR seems to be a bit of an enticement than a substitution.
