"Git is one of the most needed innovations of our time"
What do you like best about Git?

Git does one job and its the best at it. No other solution comes close to the features it provides.

It has great extension to use with other technologies and helps in maintaining the version of file locally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

There is no particular thing that I dislike but If I have to say I would say its learning curve is a bit steep and hard to grasp at the beginning which makes it hard for beginners although once you get a hang it is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Version Management Tool"
What do you like best about Git?

There are so many things like creating repos, different types of permissions, token management, organization-wide support, easy integration and use, and many more Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

I think a terminal login with a password was better, currently, we have to create tokens and save them safely. Sure it increases security but it is cumbersome for some users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Keep track of all your files at one place!!"
What do you like best about Git?

It helps a lot when you need to keep track of all your files by the use of simple commands, i.e., push, pull and merge.

It makes collaborative editing much easier than sending files to your team members personally.

It does not ask you for a subscription to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

Working on git using GitBash is a bit tedious task that requires you to learn its commands.

Except for this I did not find anything much which I dislike about it as it serves the purpose that it was designed for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Git with glue"
What do you like best about Git?

The best part is about record of Branches and changes from anybody from your organization , team or you group. It's completely distributed in nature that is, everybody has their own repo. Apart from that it can be integrated via many software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

Although it is very useful, it needs lot of practice . The GUI are not capable enough. The CLI needs lots of practice to master commands. Apart from that there are merging conflicts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Git is a reliable, accessible, easy-to-use version control tool that helps keep a record of all the code or files with simple git commands in an organisation. Git can be integrated with various software Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

"Because version control saves lives"
What do you like best about Git?

Git is the reliable, accessible way of assuring version control and code integrity. If you care about your code and your data, you must use Git. Learn it. It is free. If it makes you think too much, perhaps you are in the wrong field. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

I am upset that learning to use Git is not a required part of a standard professional or technical curriculum. I am also upset that people think that it is not integrated into word processing software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Its like the core of any engineering company"
What do you like best about Git?

Flexibility, easy to use, capabilities for easy use for code storage to an intelligent one that can drive your CI/CD without having to worry about another tool. Love the API endpoints that can be used for a lot of automation and administration. It can be easily integrated with other SDLC tools for automation, review, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

The only thing I wish would be related to administration and proving capabilities to create reports on the fly, such as - all projects and all groups downloadable in a CSV format, inbuilt security capability to scan for credentials etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
