What do you like best?

I like that CMiC can be a one stop shop for submittals, RFIs, cost control, notices to proceed, and contracts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that you have to submit multiple times on CMiC in order to get the fields to accurately save. For example, on an RFI if you want to change it from open to answer complete and keep the date and name of the EOR who responded, you have to edit and submit multiple times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

There are a lot of supporting tabs to each other just follow the tree on the left. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

CMiC works very well for creating trader partner white pages and sending out mass information on distribution lists. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Seems to have a technical / robust cost platform, nothing much apart from that Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Seems to be a software stuck in the 90s. Very bad UX or lack of a designed UI/ UX i should say. I cannot say I have enjoyed working in CMiC even once. Doesn't feel very collaborative as it's clunky to add external users and visualization is very week. Needs major overhaul to come to terms with current day and age. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

basic RFI / Submittal / Change items management, some invoicing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I love sending RFIs to the architect through cmic because it helps track questions, responses, and documents pertaining to that document. I also use this to send cost to the owner as well as submittals to the architect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

For some reason, the last few months documents are not being uploaded into the system.

Usually when you cc hiku email, it uploads email conversations but not the actual document attached. This feature used to work Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Training is required before using this software. There are a lot of features and one can easily be confused without the appropriate training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

This helps keep track of costs, submittals, RFIs, and invoices in an easy and efficient way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I do RFIs, Submittals, Contract Administration, Cost Reports, Change Orders etc. This helps organize the construction management process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The loading time between pages needs to improve! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

PCOs or PCIs like CMiC calls it, helps because you can link that to change orders to the owner and subcontractor. This also helps to provide RFI and submittal logs that are up to date in a few seconds once it is kept up to date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The autofill, tracking and document maintenance options are the best features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It can be a little laggy, not update very well and sometimes have problems uploading attachments even when they're small. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This can be a tricky software to learn and pick up but once you get the hang of it, it makes keeping tabs on submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes and everything related to project coordination, documentation extremely easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Using it to collaborate with other parties in multi-party projects and that's one of the best features about this. The fact that it auto-populates, manages and tracks all documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I like the cost management portion which is great and easy for the user to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The best system and no shortcomings realized so far to tell. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The best system in which project data can be stored within a single system instead of using multiple systems and very easy to use and I therefore highly recommend it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The best software with a lot of great features and lets you bring multiple tools and functions into one software platform,it also gives tools to process data efficiently, generating live and useful reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

It has the potential to be great. It is an organized program with many different reports.Allows you to maintain a customer database, keep a calendar, upload files all in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

There are always glitches. Our balances are always off because the system has a glitch and changes a number and then you spend hours trying to figure out why the balances are off. When you try to contact support they always tell you 'I have created a ticket for this item' or 'it is in programming' and if they fix anything, it takes months. They try to charge you for any little change you want in a report. We have one report that is always off because of a glitch in the system they can't fix so we have to use a different report but the other report doesn't have everything we need displayed on it. They said it would cost $4,000 to add two columns to a report. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I'm not aware of what other software is out there but if you're between CMIC and another program that does everything else CMIC does, I would go with the other program. It is not worth the hassle of dealing with support, and having them try to charge you every time you need them to fix something within their flawed program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Keep records of all accounting processes, maintain a customer database, run reports to view different balances. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I like that the software encompasses all parts and items of construction accounting. The software allows you to enter whatever information you'd like and will highlight red if it is incorrect. Other programs will not let you input information due to the settings - but many times there are exceptions! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that quite often I will go through every line item needed and enter a value for the retention for example and when I refresh the page, the values entered do not save and are recalculated to the base 10% and I have to go and re enter the information all over again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's a good software that most will be able to catch on with ease. It does have a few glitches that mighht be considered annoying but if you can deal with that, it is okay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

This software streamlines the construction accounting process. It also helps keep you organized and on track with your tasks as it requires one thing to be done in order to complete another. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

CMiC allows for the capturing of data in a rigid format, meaning you won't miss/lose important pieces of information. If you have someone who is skilled in software integration, you can set up a system that writes strong, consistent subcontracts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It is often difficult to drill down the information you need and has a steep learning curve. The rigidity also makes it difficult to integrate with other software. When doing cost reviews from the enterprise side, you will often have to have multiple windows open and be prepared to wait if you are a larger contractor because the system often takes a while to load. Also, if you are every doing cost surveys, you will need to use CMiC and discoverer BI in tandem which can lead to headaches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

CMiC can be very powerful but also can create an equally powerful headache. If you want a permanent system move, look to other softwares since this one seems to be lagging behind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

What do you like best?

I love that this system is specialized for the Construction industry. The Project Management and Subcontract Management modules are some of the highlights Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Though I love the system as a whole, I think some of the reports could use some work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

CMIC is a great software to track clients, design firms, owners, and subcontractors. It is great that everything is linked from meeting minutes to subcontracts. I also like that you can jump between multiple jobs at once. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I dislike how the software is not "smart" in the fact that if a firm is entered even slightly different by someone, then a new firm in CMIC is created. You can end up with 40 of the same architect! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

When I use CMIC, it is for project management needs. I use it for meeting minutes, RFI logs and submittal logs, as well as managing subcontracts on multiple projects at one time. It is not the most user intuitive software, and it could definitely be made easier to interface with. However, managing all of these project management needs in one program is a huge benefit I realized. From the alternatives my peers in the industry have used, I would say that CMIC is the most beneficial out there at this time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that it's very easy to use, simple and straight forward however it seems like its very outdated. Makes a nice template for sending out RFI, submittals and tracking transmittal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You need java for it and it crashes very often on you. I highly recommend moving to a different and more up to date construction software like Procore. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
