**What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

CMiC is the best. I love it because everything is captured in one centralized software. CMiC runs on a single database platform that connects financials, project management, and field operations, which helps eliminate silos between accounting, project teams, and the field. As a result, there’s no duplicate data entry, fewer reconciliation errors, and everyone is working from the same numbers.

CMiC tightly links job costing, billing, payroll, procurement, and forecasting into one workflow. Financial data flows directly from field activities (subcontracts, change orders, etc.) into accounting. I especially like the real-time cost tracking against budget, the better margin protection, and the faster, more accurate billing cycles. My accounting teams also love it for AP/AR processing, job costing, and financial reporting. Overall, you can run your entire construction business, from field to finance, on one integrated system with real-time visibility.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

CMiC is a large complex system and there is a learning curve in getting to know the system. If you hire experienced experts from the industry to help you, you can overcome that challenge with ease.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMiC has been investing heavily in business intelligence (BI) dashboards and AI, and the direction is clear: they’re aiming to move beyond simply reporting data to helping teams interpret it and take action in real time. CMiC addresses the core construction challenge of disconnected systems and delayed or unreliable information by bringing financials, project management, and field operations together in one integrated platform. For us, that means real-time visibility into job costs, better communication between field and office teams, and less manual work through automation of workflows like billing and change orders. **What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

What I like best about the CMiC platform is how comprehensive and integrated it is for construction workflows, with core functions living in a single system rather than across multiple disconnected tools. It’s highly configurable and flexible, which allows organizations to tailor it to their business processes as they mature. Once set up, it provides a reliable “single source of truth” for project, financial, and operational data.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

One of the main drawbacks of the CMiC platform is that the user interface can feel dated and less intuitive compared to more modern applications, which can make the learning curve steeper for new or occasional users. Some tasks also require navigating multiple screens or configurations, which can feel inefficient at times. That said, once users become familiar with the system, these challenges tend to lessen.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMiC is solving the challenge of managing complex construction operations by bringing project management, financials, and operational data into a single, integrated platform. This reduces reliance on spreadsheets or disconnected systems and helps improve data consistency and visibility across teams. **What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

I appreciate the CMiC Platform for providing detailed job costing on multiple levels, which is really beneficial in the construction industry. The BI Reports are really helpful for tasks like payroll reconciliation, year-end reconciliation, and various analyses. I like that the platform offers a lot of functions and find the Query and Log menu to be very useful tools for getting desired results and information. Additionally, I recently configured CMiC with Smart Barrel for time punch in and out, and it effectively syncs data from Smart Barrel devices across multiple locations, allowing me to consolidate timesheet data efficiently.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

Sometimes the interface does not work without any message of issue pop up. Some functions are limited in use. For instance, in a multi-company environment, the system doesn't take the WSIB rate from the project company but from the payroll company, even though the payroll company charges back to the project company. The transition was difficult as we do not have the full software implementer team.

CMiC Platform provides detailed job costing, helpful BI reports for payroll and year-end reconciliation, and supports data syncing with Smart Barrel across locations.

CMiC has been most helpful for us with payroll processing, job cost tracking, and keeping our financial management centralized in one place.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

While CMiC is strong on the accounting side, the interface and overall navigation can sometimes feel less intuitive than I’d expect. Certain tasks also take more manual steps than they should, which can slow things down.

CMiC helps us centralize key financial operations—such as payroll, the general ledger, and job cost tracking—within one system. This improves visibility into project costs and labor expenses, supports accurate financial reporting, and enables both accounting and project teams to work from the same consistent data. **What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

I like having all the financials in one place, and I can easily navigate between the different modules without any hassle.
The support I have received from Mary-Jo and Robert has been excellent. They are quick to respond and I feel like they really listen to my concerns with the software.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

Building custom BI reports can be tricky if you are unsure where the information lives within the system.
The system can also lag at times and often I have to restart the platform even if I have only been inactive for a short time.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The system has the ability to be custom to your company. The integration between our timekeeping software and CMiC has been excellent and saved us time.

**What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

I really like the mobile capabilities of the CMiC Platform. It's incredibly helpful for our field staff to complete their daily tasks, and everything gets synced to the web version. This functionality saves us a lot of time since everything is done electronically, and there's no need for paperwork. It also allows everyone who needs access to get it right away, enhancing overall efficiency.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

I think the permissions and profiles creations need some improvement. There are multiple ways to complete a single process, which makes it confusing. I feel that if there were one or two standard ways to complete a process, it would be easier for everyone to understand. The implementation at our company wasn't great, leading to many people using the tool in different ways, which is not ideal. There were also big issues during the initial setup, which has led to ongoing problems.

CMiC Platform makes our processes more efficient and establishes better controls. It saves us time by eliminating paper use, allowing electronic access for those who need it.

as the saying goes - jack of all trades, master of none. After 6 years on the all in one system, there are plenty of times where it feels like there aren't enough resources available from CMiC to execute what should be basic functionality. The standard response of "throw it on User Voice" is frustrating to users.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connected data. Simple to retrieve and put into BI Dashboards for analysis and decision making. Very happy about how we can use our data that is stored in CMiC.

**What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

What I value most about CMiC is that it's a true all-in-one platform. We can configure it to fit our specific processes and workflows rather than stitching together a dozen third-party tools and connectors to cover gaps. Having accounting, project controls, and project management living in the same system means our data stays consistent across departments, and as an admin I have a single source of truth to manage rather than maintaining integrations between disparate systems.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

One of the more frustrating aspects is the inconsistency in lookup behavior across the platform. Depending on which module or screen you're in, the expected search input changes. Sometimes it's first initial and last name, sometimes just last name, sometimes first name only, and other times it requires the employee code. There's no universal standard, so users (and admins supporting them) have to remember the correct format for each context. This creates unnecessary friction, especially for new users, and leads to avoidable support tickets when someone can't find a record that's actually there. A unified, predictable lookup experience across all apps would be a significant quality-of-life improvement.
Beyond lookups, certain areas of the UI can be difficult to navigate. Missing or hidden scroll bars in some windows make it unclear whether there's additional content below or to the side, and resizing fields or panes isn't always intuitive. Modernizing these interface elements and ensuring consistent navigation behavior across screens would go a long way toward improving the day to day user experience.

CMiC gives us a single source of truth, with accounting at the core and the same data flowing out to project management, project controls, and operations.

**What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

I like how CMiC Platform has a lot of different ways to perform tasks. I particularly appreciate the BI Analytics ability to create reports and how the workflow processes streamline approvals and communication. BI Analytics allows us to create useful reports for our team members to make processes and information more efficient. The workflow processes reduce the need for email or Teams communications and allow for historical traceability of tasks required. We did quite an accelerated setup and, for the most part, the integration was done very well.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

For BI Analytics, unless you have an extremely smart and educated report writer in your team, it's incredibly difficult to create. There's also still fields that we are often contacting CMiC about because we don't have access to them in BI to bring into reports. Requests for those fields or access often take months to obtain, making this extremely inefficient. The Bank Reconciliation program is extremely inefficient and could use some major upgrades. Not being able to see what was reconciled in that period and being able to unreconcile within the bank rec is something that is urgently needed. We had this ability in our previous platform. The Job Billing platform also needs work when it comes to report outputs. There are no good report outputs currently in CMiC related to self-performed work. There's a big issue in the Job Billings transaction screens where we can't get proper information. Creating a billing in CMiC and sending it through communications to the client is not possible and must be compiled outside of CMiC due to the inability to attach documents and send it through communications within the job billing platgorm. The PO module is missing proper logic for closing POs. Currently, the options are to close POs manually after checking invoicing or automatically when received, but there's no check to ensure invoices are received, creating a lot of manual extra work. There should be an option to have a PO automatically close once billed in full. The PO program being in Enterprise and under Asset Management also doesn't make sense and causes us to have to use more expensive licenses just to give project employees the ability to create PO's. The LEMS program in CMiC is unusable for us as it requires daily postings of equipment and labour which are not possible.  The construct CT program is disliked due to inefficiences, slowness and it's more difficult to use than our current 3rd party software.

CMiC Platform lets us eliminate extra software and maintain more processes in one system. BI Analytics and workflow processes make information more efficient and reduce email use, allowing traceability of tasks.

**What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

I like how the data flows across everything—from financials to job costing to billings—and how that improves an end user’s ability to work efficiently. Although we do have some hiccups with the product overall, our Account Manager is great at getting us support whenever we need it.

I understand that one product can’t support every business, but it would be helpful if there were more ways for a business to customize certain needs without additional cost. The new AI/Intel has also made it easier to surf through endless data, and the agents are responding super fast, which improves our day-to-day issue resolution.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

Every business has its own reporting style and specifications. In some situations, they charge just to understand the business needs and to customize the requirements. If there were a middle ground—where they first explain what the customer needs and then charge based on what we actually need—it would be much more helpful.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The way the business side of our data and the financials integrate and communicate with each other has made the overall experience much smoother and easier.

In my opinion it is the best all-around construction ERP available today.  I have experience with other non-construction ERPs, but neither of them would be a good fit for a construction company.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

I do wish I had a better environment to test in that was only overwritten at my request.  I also wish creating financial reports was an easier process.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a consolidated system that brings many aspects of running a business together on one platform is extremely beneficial. I especially like that, beyond the standard ERP functionality, it also includes timekeeping.

CMiC is a unified, construction-focused platform that tightly connects project delivery, finance, procurement, and asset management in one system. It offers strong workflows, solid auditability, and real-time reporting, which helps standardize processes, improve data accuracy, and support informed decision-making across complex, multi-entity construction environments.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

What I dislike about CMiC is that some workflows are still material-centric and don’t fully support service procurement, which ends up forcing manual workarounds. I also find that certain modern features, user experience improvements, and integrations often require customization instead of being available out of the box.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMiC addresses the common problem in construction organizations of fragmented, disconnected systems by bringing projects, finance, procurement, assets, inventory, and reporting into a single, construction-focused platform. Rather than juggling multiple tools and spreadsheets, CMiC creates one source of truth across the full project lifecycle.

For me, that translates into much stronger control and visibility. Project costs, commitments, budgets, and forecasts are tied directly to the financials, which means far less reconciliation work and fewer surprises at month-end. The standardized workflows built into CMiC also reinforce governance through consistent approvals and clear audit trails, reducing compliance risk and increasing confidence in the data.

CMiC also helps solve the challenge of operating across multiple projects, cost codes, and legal entities, which is typical in larger construction groups. With consistent processes and shared master data across the organization, reporting becomes more accurate, user training is simpler, and consolidation and analysis are more meaningful.

Overall, the biggest benefit for me is moving away from reactive, spreadsheet-driven management toward real-time, data-driven decision-making, while still maintaining strong process control, transparency, and scalability as the organization grows.

**What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

I use CMiC Platform mainly for work-related tasks such as entering change orders, RFIs, submittals, plan uploading, punch list, and document management. I appreciate that CMiC Platform gives us a singular place to collaborate with our teams. I like that everything is linked together, like tying RFIs to plans through the platform. These features make CMiC valuable despite some challenges with speed.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

I find CMiC Platform to be quite slow. Entering and managing drawing management, like uploading plans, is slow, which is frustrating. Sometimes saving PCIs is also slow. The interface feels clunky and if it could be sped up, it would be much smoother and easier to use. Tagging RFIs is slow and the drawing system can be buggy. Processes like mark-ups, publishing, and tagging take a while to load, which is not ideal.

**What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

I appreciate the CMiC Platform for its powerful integrated system that centralizes everything in one place, making it easy for different teams to work on the same data without switching between tools. I find the diverse functions for project management quite comprehensive and enjoy the flexibility afforded by the customization tools for specific purposes. The platform's RTI and API integration capability is particularly useful as it allows connection with other platforms. Recently, I started using the Microsoft Integration Package (MIP), which I found really intuitive and easy to use, adding to the overall robust nature of the CMiC Platform.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

Due to the large amount of features and data, maintenance can be difficult. For example, legacy projects and outdated setups that are no longer in use need to be modified or removed, but it won't allow any modification due to being linked to parent items or child records, and there is no way to track all dependencies. So we have to leave the amount of unused features bigger and bigger. I was not there but I heard from other colleagues that the initial setup was not easy.

CMiC Platform integrates diverse functions for project management, finance, and accounting. It centralizes data, allowing teams to work efficiently without switching tools. The platform is flexible and robust with customization options and integration capabilities.

I enjoy having one platform that holds all of our data and can handle my day to day needs versus having separate platforms for everything we do.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

I dislike that sometimes there are too many dashboards/reports that tell you similar information but have slight differences. It can be hard to find the correct dashboard that will include everything I need.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before we started using this system we used to have to hold on to physical copies and pull meaningful data from all of those records. After we started using this system we can now put in all of our records and have the system create certain figures for us. This saves us time and helps us in our business when need to know our true costs in order to make money.

**What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

We think CMiC is a very strong platform and well suited for construction use. Their senior leadership understands the product just as deeply as their programmers do, which is wonderful. The financials and job cost modules are excellent, and they are also at the top of the list on the field side. They offer a strong documentation library for system use, along with a user community that actively participates in monthly calls, a forum, and quarterly workshops that CMiC attends. Overall, it feels like a truly positive partnership.  They also have an innovative approach to AI and have many integrations that they support.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

We have a great relationship with CMiC.  Nothing that I would list as something I dislike.  It's a great ERP system.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AL (CMiC's AI) will eliminate our need for more custom reports and BI dashboards.  The addition of more integrations helps our ROI.

I like that CMiC Platform serves as our primary system for Financial and Project Management, providing a single source of truth for our business which supports continuity amongst other platforms. I appreciate the flexibility and customization capabilities, which allow us to tailor the system to our needs as the business grows and evolves. The ability to add user-defined fields and tables is also a favorite feature because it lets us capture data unique to our business, driving tailored workflows and notifications. I value that CMiC is flexible and capable of growing with the organization as our needs change.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

Overall the system works well, but the Project Management and Project Controls portions are spread across two, sometimes three different versions. These versions are not always functionally aligned as CMiC transitions between platforms, often changing direction mid-development to move to a different system. There needs to be a coordinated effort to complete these transitions and consolidate functionality onto a single platform. Implementation was not easy and required a significant investment of time, effort, and resources, both financially beyond the system cost and in terms of time. We are still configuring the system to support additional functionality as our business evolves.

**What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

I use CMiC for all things related to Webcor. I love the ease of CMiC. It feels easy to use and navigate through. The key benefit is having one database in place to track all of the company's projects. CMiC tracks invoices, insurance, contracts, costs, so much information all in one system. I use CMiC ADF and CMiC project management portal. The integration with Textura is great. CMiC is easy and straightforward to learn, and I love using CMiC. It is a great database that holds great financial history.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

CMiC Platform does not have expense cost tracking, so we have to use Concur for tracking employee credit card transactions.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CMiC Platform as our main database for accounting and compliance tracking. It's great for tracking data, like invoices and contracts, centralizing all project information. It feels easy to use and navigate, which adds to its benefits.

The platform feels inconsistent in how certain modules have been developed compared with others. Some modules offer full mobile and imaging capabilities, while others still don’t incorporate these features.

I like how many reports there are readily available to run. They provide good information if you know what you're looking for.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

I don’t like how few other software tools integrate with it. There are also frequent small disconnects from the system that make me lose progress and force me to start over on what I’m working on. More recently, importing large amounts of data has been causing it to crash.

Also, why is the Delete button right next to the Insert button? I can’t count how many times I’ve accidentally clicked Delete and then had to redo my work when I meant to click Insert.

CMIC houses all of our financial information, and it’s helpful to have everything in one place.

I use CMIC mostly to generate billings and get financial data.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

CMIC is not a good system for financials.  We have to create the financials outside of the system.  There should be at a minimum an income statement and balance sheet.  It is difficult to find support.  You have to go to multiple places before getting what you need.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It seems like Nexus will mainly just change the look of the platform.  I wish there could be more beneficial upgrades such as improved reporting.

**What do you like best about CMiC Platform?**

All of the data is on one place.  The new user interface for Nexus 1 is very user friendly and easy to read.  Very easy to get data out of the system to integrate with other applications.  CMiC is focused on assisting to provide the best product performance.  CMiC Support is very responsive.  Love the Chat option that immediately connects to a live support when necessary and will even take it to the next step of opening a case if that is required.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

Although CMiC is focused on improving performance, I would say that is the biggest complaint from our users.  I am hoping that with the transition to Nexus and the use of Apps that the performance improves.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our prior system was not web based and did not offer access to project financials to our users.  Now the entire project teams have access to what they need - project performance, budget vs. actual, anticipated costs and forecasting, so they can make decisions earlier to improve profit.

There are many benefits to using CMIC. The batched EFT integration has been a real time-saver for us, and it has also helped reduce costs. Another benefit has been implementing CMIC Field for construction contracts and budget management, which has made it easier for us to stay on top of those areas.

I find the CMiC Platform truly gets the job done for what my company needs. It integrates well with another software package we use called Procore, allowing data to move back and forth, which has been really working well for me. The platform also helped us improve our project management. I use the project management tools and financial tools in CMiC to provide productive financial statements.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

I think some improvements could probably be in some report Outlooks, like reporting things, on search situations. The reports could become a little better. But, overall, I really have no complaints.

CMiC Platform solves a lot of problems and gets the job done for me. It helps improve our project management and integrates with other software like Procore to facilitate data exchange.

As an HR coordinator, e-time and Enterprise have been extremely useful. The platform is user-friendly and straightforward to navigate. E-time has been a solid foundation for my HR work, and it’s easy to manage, adjust, and work with day to day.

**What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?**

The frequent system maintenance is frustrating. Once it’s completed, it won’t let me use the software, no matter how much I clear my cache, etc. I’ve had to switch to an incognito browser just to use it again, and then I still had to wait a couple of days before it would work normally in my default browser.

**What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The support team has been very responsive. It’s been a great place for us to ask questions, submit our queries, and log our concerns.

I also appreciate that it allows everything to be job costed accurately. Although the initial setup was very involved and not easy, the support teams have been very helpful.

Reporting can be glitchy. Some reports run properly only by 'company name' and some reports only run properly when using the FEIN for the first field of specifying parameters. The initial setup was very involved and not easy.

Its wide array of comprehensive functions includes project management, GL, AP, AR, HR, and payroll, so everything can be put together and analyzed together.

Not very stable sometimes, and sometimes custom fields cannot be saved or totally disappear from the screen, needing to clear the cache to bring them back.

It is a very robust program - it can do a lot and we've barely scratched the surface. I also like that the company is forward-thinking with their recent adoption of AI and changing their UI to be more modern.

They do not handle integrations well. For example, only certain fields pull in to other software. Onboarding was fine but I would have liked to see an account manager who was more involved and knew our business better.

The fact that we have to pay separately to unlock APIs for different module is the worst part of CMiC. It took a long time to roll out.
