The things like "how do I connect Expandi to my CRM via Zapier when a lead declines my connection request but I want to track that lead later on and send them an email?" are complicated to work through. I have a strong grasp of how the system works. But I love it when Patricija is available to answer my tech support questions and to spit ball ideas about how to best achieve my goals. Her knowledge of the system is head and shoulders above most of the team that I have encountered and she always comes up with practical workarounds. In the end, though, I thought of it as an investment in the research for my thesis because it brought a lot of features and benefits that were important. The cost is high for most students, and a lot of them cannot afford it so that a student discount will bring this powerful tool to many users in academic settings. Although Expandi.io is already powerful by itself, its ability to be effective is greatly improved with its integration with LinkedIn Sales Navigator. A wealth of possibilities opens for more efficient and more targeted lead generation through this feature. However, the tool has quite a high cost, so this just raises the general cost of using Expandi.io to its full potential. Without this, it was hard for me to collect potential leads. One can't overemphasize how critical advanced searches and filters from Sales Navigator are in reaching out to the right prospects. In my case, without it, Expandi.io was, to some extent, less valuable because the lead generation process was not entirely adequate and felt boring. In general, while Expandi.io is a fantastic software product, the price is a hindrance to using it for students. Discounting the tool for students would make it much more accessible. But wait, for best results, one has to use LinkedIn Sales Navigator along with Expandi.io, which is again an expense, yet it is very much necessary for optimum lead generation. Without Sales Navigator, the potential of this tool drops down significantly, making it much harder to harness its capabilities for any particular need - for instance, my thesis research. **What problems is Expandi.io solving and how is that benefiting you?** A few such vital challenges that Expandi.io addresses effectively regarding LinkedIn outreach and campaign management are provided below. One of the most significant benefits would be automating finding and engaging with a potential lead. With that, manual effort is drastically reduced, making it an invaluable tool for users like me who need to connect with many people quickly and efficiently. This meant that for my thesis research, I could easily find and communicate with subjects without wasting countless hours on manual searches and messaging. Beyond automation, Expandi.io also removes the headache of managing more than one LinkedIn campaign at a time. This yields much more productivity than users could achieve before, as they are no longer so lost in the mechanics of campaign execution that they're not getting strategy and content figured out. It was these features that helped my research campaigns be highly effective and efficient. While you might expect that a company that specializes in LinkedIn automation has also automated its customer service, this is not the case. So I liked most their promises, which sadly were not fulfilled. **What do you dislike about Expandi.io?** The homepage says it's "reliable" but it's not. The campaign just gets stuck and does not work, the support can't help and doesn't even know why the issue appeared. If you pay in full for the subscription and you stop it mid-billing period to avoid automatic payment and continuing the subscription to the next billing period, the tool just hides all your campaigns data and stops them. So essentially you don't get what you paid for, while the billing period you paid for is still in progress. The documentation seems fine at the first glance, but when you start to really use the tool and it's features, you will learn that a lot of details are not described, support does not know the details too, and the worst part- the support will not even try to understand your request and issue, but instead will throw the docs links to you which do not help and sometimes are not even relevant to your request. That's when you are a paid plan user and pay 99$ a month. Many important features do not work properly or do not work at all. Setting the use of variables is a nightmare even if you follow the docs, condition blocks can just make campaign leads stuck and not move further to any branch, in other words your campaign will not be working at all. **What problems is Expandi.io solving and how is that benefiting you?** Does not solve any problems, only claims it will do. You can try using the tool for email outreach or LinkedIn messaging, but if you actually make a complex campaign that uses many features, chances are high it will not work at all and support will not help you. ### 49.
