"Modular design studio, AI integrations, and solid metrics for emailing"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

The new design studio allows you to create email templates easily, while keeping control over the code if necessary.

The support for components makes the design truly modular and helps maintain a single source of truth.

Customer.io integrates well with most AI tools via its MCP, which significantly reduces the amount of manual work.

The startup plan is a great boost for small businesses.

Finally, the metrics and goals on launched campaigns allow us to measure the impact of our emailing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

The user interface is quite heavy and often encounters loading issues, especially on Firefox.

Additionally, the site does not load when I am connected to a VPN. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Phenomenal Branching Logic for Readable, Complex Reactivation Journeys"
5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

The branching logic within campaigns is phenomenal. I can create complex reactivation journeys that adjust the content based on a user’s balance or specific transaction history, all inside a single workflow that stays highly readable and easy to follow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

Not being able to pull historical event counts directly through Liquid is a major hassle that forces us into manual workarounds. Additionally, since we restrict email visibility for data compliance, searching for specific profiles during QA checks is much slower and more frustrating than it needs to be. "Intuitive UI and Powerful Data Transformation for Precise Messaging"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

The user interface is exceptionally intuitive, which makes it easy to manage both complex drip campaigns and one-off broadcasts. I especially appreciate the built-in data transformation tools. Being able to update attributes and transform variables directly within the platform helps us cohort users accurately and keep full control over messaging as users move through different states. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

So far, the current AI features feel somewhat underwhelming and haven’t really moved the needle for us. They don’t seem to meaningfully improve our ability to build out new infrastructure or accelerate the launch process. That’s an area where I’d expect more innovation, especially given the current tech landscape. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Yet Simple Interface with Fast Drag-and-Drop Workflow Building"
5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

The interface strikes an ideal balance between power and simplicity. I especially enjoy the drag-and-drop builders, which let our team create MVPs and more complex workflows quickly. Another major plus for our day-to-day operations is the steady rollout of new features that address real workflow problems without adding unnecessary bloat. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

The platform can sometimes lag when we’re processing or managing large volumes of data. There are also occasional minor outages, although the team is transparent about them and communicates clearly. My biggest frustration is the lack of a robust mobile management interface, which makes it very difficult to handle internal emergencies when I’m away from my desk. "Easy Interface and No Complexity"
5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

I love the easy and clear interface of Customer.io that allows me to start using it without instructions or a tutorial video. I also appreciated the ease of adding an email list, and everything was generally easy. The tool helps me write and design emails very easily and send campaigns to a large number of users, saving effort and time in organizing and sending reports after dispatch. Additionally, I was able to set up and send a campaign in less than an hour without assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

I find it difficult to test the email before sending it to users. If there was a feature to send a test email to myself and try the email before sending the campaign. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible, Personalized Campaigns with Powerful Automation and Segmentation"
5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

What I like best about Customer.io is its flexibility and personalization capabilities. It makes it easy to create highly targeted email, SMS, and push notification campaigns based on real-time customer behavior. The workflow automation is powerful yet intuitive, allowing teams to build complex customer journeys without too much technical overhead. I also appreciate its strong segmentation, data integration options, and detailed analytics, which help improve engagement and conversion rates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

What I dislike about Customer.io is that it can take some time to learn, especially if you’re new to marketing automation tools. Some features feel a bit technical and may need developer help to set up properly. The analytics could also be more user-friendly, and costs can increase quickly as your customer base grows. "Solid Features, Steep Learning Curve"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

I like the analytics feature in Customer.io, especially how the AI integration works and that the analytics are available instantly after sending an email. I also value the automation and broadcasting capabilities, which work well in creating customer journeys. Additionally, I find the AI assistant helpful when working with the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

Sometimes managing the list and creating segments can be a bit confusing for a new user. I found the initial setup of Customer.io very clunky and not user friendly. You definitely need some CRM and email knowledge background to use the system effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Use and Simple to Follow"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

It’s easy to use, and it’s simple to follow along with what’s happening. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

Some functions are a bit confusing. There are a lot of buttons and options, and the naming conventions seem to change, which makes it harder to keep track. Sometimes it’s tough to follow what’s located where, or where to find the right setting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Workflows and Segmentation Make Personalized Campaigns Easy"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

What I like most about Customer.io is the flexibility of its drag-and-drop workflow builder, advanced segmentation, and event-based triggers. These features make it much easier to create personalized customer journeys without spending too much time on manual setup. The integrations with other tools are also very useful and help keep customer data synchronized across our stack. Overall, Customer.io has helped streamline our campaign management, save time, and make our messaging more targeted and relevant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

One downside of Customer.io is that some of the more advanced features can take time to learn, especially when setting up complex workflows or integrations. The interface is generally intuitive, but certain settings could be easier to find. Improving the onboarding experience with more contextual guidance and clearer documentation would make it easier for new users to become productive faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Complete Integration and Powerful Builder, But SDK Needs Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

I love the 360 integration that Customer.io offers, allowing us to easily connect Segment, Mixpanel, and other tools with our marketing platform. I also appreciate the simplicity and power of the workflow builder in campaigns, making workflow creation accessible even to those without technical knowledge. The features allow the use of entry/exit triggers, delays, segments, and communication via emails, notifications, and webhooks, which is really powerful and very easy to use. Moreover, the initial setup was very simple and quick, which is a big plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

The React Native SDK has long been of inferior quality and complicated to customize. Tracking email and notification metrics has historically been complicated, and the SDK is really difficult to update, which is a real headache. Receiving feedback from developers and iterating on this basis, instead of focusing solely on the product, would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
