What is Brevo, and what problem is it built to solve?

Brevo is a CRM and marketing platform built in Europe for small and mid-sized businesses. It brings email, SMS, WhatsApp, push notifications, live chat, and a built-in CRM for contacts and deals into one account.

What languages does Brevo support?

Brevo supports 6 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

What company sizes and industries is Brevo the best fit for?

Brevo’s strongest reviewer-reported fit is among small businesses, with mid-market teams also represented. Industries with notable representation include marketing, technology, retail, education, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Company size: Small businesses are the clearest cluster, with mid-market teams also represented.
  • Industries: Marketing and advertising, information technology, retail, education, and nonprofit organizations appear among the stronger clusters.

How long does it take to implement Brevo across a team?

Implementation is often quick, with the most common reported time to go live under a day. Some teams take longer, particularly when configuration or more involved workflows are part of the rollout.
Time to go live Relative frequency
Under 1 day Most common
Under 1 month Common
1–3 months Less common

What customer support options does Brevo provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Brevo provides support through chat, email/help desk, and phone support. The experience can be helpful and quick, especially when support resolves setup or delivery issues, though some users describe slow responses or difficulty getting clear assistance.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Brevo from another tool?

Switching to Brevo is often driven by lower costs, a simpler interface, or the appeal of bringing email, SMS, CRM, and automation together. Users moving from tools such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, SendGrid, and other email or marketing platforms describe getting a more affordable or streamlined setup for their core campaign needs; the transition itself ranges from quick and straightforward to requiring extra configuration.

What features or capabilities could make Brevo even more useful?

The most useful improvements would make Brevo more capable for teams running complex campaigns while reducing friction in everyday work.
  • Deeper reporting and more customizable analytics would make it easier to compare campaigns, track attribution, and understand workflow performance.
  • More advanced segmentation and automation controls would support layered audience criteria and complex customer journeys.
  • Greater flexibility in the email editor and templates would help teams create highly branded layouts with less manual work.
  • More reliable, flexible integrations and data synchronization would reduce setup steps and manual handling between systems.

How useful do Brevo users find its AI features in everyday use?

Brevo’s AI can be useful as a starting point for campaign work, especially when users need copy ideas or help refining a draft. Its value depends on the task: suggestions can speed up ideation, but users still describe editing generic or off-brand output before using it.
  • Writing and content: AI Text Generation and AI Text Summarization.
  • Campaign analysis and testing: Analytics and A/B testing.
  • Chatbot interactions: Collection of information, customization, and routing to a human.

"Strong email marketing and automation, but workflows, reporting, and segmentation can be limiting"
5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

Email marketing helps me reach my audience, and building and personalizing emails makes my campaigns look professional. I also like the marketing automation because it saves me time by handling repetitive tasks automatically. Segmenting contacts by their interests and personalization did make messages feel more targeted, and welcome emails and follow-up messages usually worked well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

Workflow management can be a bit confusing to set up. Reporting doesn’t always give me all the insights I need, and segmentation takes time when I want to organize my audience. Managing email was easy, but coordinating email with SMS and WhatsApp wasn’t always as straightforward, and sometimes the automation timing needed adjustment to feel more relevant. "Indispensable and very practical for organizing registrations, payments, and tracking students."
4/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

It is in French and very practical for the administrative and marketing organization of my activity.

I can track my students over time, both for their registrations and their payments, and thus create relevant listings when I have a question about the group of students they belong to, the status of their payments, or their past activities in my club.

I have seen the platform grow, improve, and develop. It is essential to my organization, especially during registration periods, where I can, thanks to automations, segment them according to my needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

There are times when I am frustrated, even inconvenienced, by changes made without any notice that completely disrupt my information flow.

Indeed, I export the attributes I need to create listings of my students in Excel, particularly to classify them according to several criteria that are specific to me, which Brevo does not allow directly. To achieve this, and to avoid having to establish the list of attributes each time according to my specific needs (we are only allowed one saved choice list), I export all relevant attributes and paste them into an Excel spreadsheet.

Then, this spreadsheet distributes the information according to my needs: student listings, but also accounting data, attendance at classes, attendance at training sessions, as well as various parallel listings.

For this to work, the order in which I extract the data must remain constant. However, this is the second time this order has been disrupted, forcing me to review all the data routing work in my Excel sheets.

What also enrages me — and which I have asked several times to be corrected, without any success — is that when I sort an attribute column in Brevo and request to display 100 lines of information, it is enough for me to open a contact's file to consult their specific data for, when I return to the complete contact table, all my work to be redone. Sort the attribute again, request 100 lines of results again. Moreover, as I am sent back to the beginning of the page, I have to search again for the attribute column I was working on.

Alas, this causes significant time losses, whereas this platform should precisely help us save time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive and Cost-Effective Email Marketing Solution"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

I like Brevo Marketing Platform for its simplicity and ease of use compared to others like Mailchimp. Its user interface and user experience are straightforward, without unnecessary features. I also appreciate the better offers and pricing that influenced my decision to switch from another product. Additionally, the integration process was smooth and hassle-free. Overall, I'd rate it a 9 out of 10, as Brevo is a top platform for my needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

I find it problematic that I can't send emails when I change servers, as it requires me to reauthorize my IP. I feel this process should be automated or it shouldn't prevent emails from being sent before approval. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Marketing Made Easy and Affordable"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

What I like best about the Brevo Marketing Platform is that it brings email, SMS, automation, and CRM together in one easy-to-use tool. It’s simple to navigate, offers strong automation for lifecycle campaigns, and provides solid segmentation and reporting without feeling overwhelming. On top of that, its pricing is very reasonable, which makes it a great option for small to mid-sized teams that want powerful marketing capabilities without enterprise-level complexity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

What I dislike about the Brevo Marketing Platform is that while it packs a lot of features, some of the more advanced automation and analytics feel limited compared to specialized tools like Klaviyo or HubSpot. The reporting can sometimes lack depth for deeper performance insights, and SMS pricing can add up quickly if you use it heavily. Additionally, as your needs grow more complex, you might find certain workflows and integrations less flexible than you’d like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid all-in-one email marketing for internal and client communications"
4/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

I like having email, SMS, WhatsApp, and other channels in one platform. It reduced the number of tools we juggle for internal newsletters, client updates, event invites, and lead nurturing, and lets us manage contacts, templates, and reporting from a single interface. Segmentation and personalization have been a big plus for tailoring messages by stakeholder group (service line, role, engagement level). Brevo’s AI subject-line suggestions were also genuinely helpful for ideation and produced more engaging options than our initial drafts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

Data import and export can be frustrating. Importing and exporting contact or engagement data sometimes requires extra mapping steps and doesn’t always preserve custom fields or segmentation cleanly, so bulk updates and reporting exports feel more manual than expected. Managing multiple lists and segments can get repetitive when the same contact appears in several lists, and deduplication/list hygiene takes regular manual checks to avoid overlap and inconsistent targeting. Attachment tracking also feels limited compared with link-click tracking, since it’s harder to see exactly who opened or downloaded a specific attachment and how that ties into broader engagement or triggers. AI-generated body content blocks also came out too generic for our data-center consultancy audience and needed significant rewriting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Quick, Easy Campaigns with Great Personalisation and Responsive Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

I am a volunteer for a non-profit, and I am responsible for regular flyers and newsletters telling our members about past and future events.

I have found it very quick and easy to create pleasing campaigns, keeping the branding style.

Personalisation features mean that the campaigns can be friendly and catch people's attention.

It is easy to visualise how the campaigns will appear on different browsers, whether on a desktop or a mobile phone.

I can easily send the campaigns out to different target groups and track the response.

The campaigns often provide links to our Facebook page and website, driving traffic there.

I have had very few technical problems, and I have always received very quick and helpful responses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

Sometimes pasting into text boxes results in unpredictable changes to font size, style or colour, which I would have expected to be consistent with my branding style. However, that is rarer since I switched to the newer editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Your Ultimate Email Marketing Ally"
5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

What I love most about Brevo remains its ability to be a true all-in-one marketing solution. Having email, SMS, WhatsApp, live chat, automation workflows, and a CRM all in one place not only simplifies our daily operations but also drastically cuts down on the costs of managing multiple external tools.

On top of its incredibly intuitive interface and fair pricing model (which charges based on email volume rather than contact list size), Brevo has recently rolled out some game-changing features:

Smarter AI Assistants: The integration of Aura AI is incredibly helpful for quickly drafting copy and predicting key customer behaviors, such as identifying which contacts are at risk of churning.

Post-Sent Link Editing: This is an absolute lifesaver. If you make a mistake, you can now correct the URL of a campaign that has already been sent within the first 24 hours, saving you from having to send an embarrassing "Oops!" correction email.

Prompt-to-Workflow Automation: Setting up automated sequences is faster than ever. You can now build complex workflows simply by describing the steps in plain text.

Ultimately, Brevo continues to evolve in a very smart way. It is no longer just a budget-friendly option with great value; it now offers advanced, high-tier features that you used to only find in much more expensive enterprise-level platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

What Brevo could improve:

Rigidity in design and templates: While the drag-and-drop editor is incredibly user-friendly, the template library can still feel a bit clinical and rigid compared to highly design-focused competitors. If you want to build highly customized, ultra-modern visual layouts, you quickly hit the limits of their block editor.

Strict account validation and suspensions: To protect their shared IP address reputation, Brevo uses automated compliance algorithms that can be incredibly strict. Users importing older or slightly cold contact databases often face sudden account pauses or suspensions with very little explanation, which can be frustrating to resolve.

Feature locking on lower tiers: While the pricing is generally great, some features are heavily gated. For instance, removing the "Sent with Brevo" branding on the Starter plan requires an extra monthly add-on fee. Additionally, advanced multi-path A/B automation testing and detailed reporting dashboards are locked behind the higher-tier plans, leaving the basic plans with somewhat limited analytical depth.

Multi-user access costs: For teams, collaboration is expensive. Multi-user login access is restricted to the high-tier Professional and Enterprise plans, meaning smaller teams on Starter or Standard plans have to share a single login, which isn't ideal for security or workflow organization. "Best Email Marketing Platform I've Used: User-Friendly, Fast Support and Easy to Customize Templates"
5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

Extremely user-friendly interface, EXCELLENT customer service (fast and professional), excellent documentation, very easy to set up custom email templates for clients, LOVE the option for small business to purchase credits as needed, email delivery has greatly improved, and clients report that using the platform is MUCH easier than other email marketing platforms they have used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

Honestly cannot think of a single thing that has been a negative. This is the best email marketing platform I have ever used and I've tried several over the past couple decades with several different clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong data management and segmentation, but email building and deliverability are frustrating"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

I value the reliable data management and connectivity with other systems. The import/export tools give me flexibility and control over data, the APIs enable integration and automation across platforms, and email list management helps with accurate segmentation, targeting, and data quality for campaigns. Segmentation and personalization did help somewhat, since people who had already shown interest in a specific program got more relevant follow-up emails instead of generic communications. Email and SMS were also relatively easy to manage together because they follow similar campaign and audience workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

Building and personalizing emails can be time-consuming, especially when trying to create flexible designs or advanced personalization. Email deliverability can also be frustrating because it is not always clear why messages are not reaching the inbox or what actions should be taken to improve delivery rates. WhatsApp was more difficult to manage because it requires a different setup, stricter rules, and more specific message templates and approvals. Automation can also go wrong when contact data is incomplete or updated late, which can trigger the wrong branch or send a message with incorrect personalization. The AI was less helpful when more context or brand-specific nuance was needed, since the suggestions could feel too generic and still required manual editing.
