What is Brevo, and what problem is it built to solve?

Brevo is a CRM and marketing platform built in Europe for small and mid-sized businesses. It brings email, SMS, WhatsApp, push notifications, live chat, and a built-in CRM for contacts and deals into one account.

What languages does Brevo support?

Brevo supports 6 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

What company sizes and industries is Brevo the best fit for?

Brevo’s strongest reviewer-reported fit is among small businesses, with mid-market teams also represented. Industries with notable representation include marketing, technology, retail, education, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Company size: Small businesses are the clearest cluster, with mid-market teams also represented.
  • Industries: Marketing and advertising, information technology, retail, education, and nonprofit organizations appear among the stronger clusters.

How long does it take to implement Brevo across a team?

Implementation is often quick, with the most common reported time to go live under a day. Some teams take longer, particularly when configuration or more involved workflows are part of the rollout.
Time to go live Relative frequency
Under 1 day Most common
Under 1 month Common
1–3 months Less common

What customer support options does Brevo provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Brevo provides support through chat, email/help desk, and phone support. The experience can be helpful and quick, especially when support resolves setup or delivery issues, though some users describe slow responses or difficulty getting clear assistance.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Brevo from another tool?

Switching to Brevo is often driven by lower costs, a simpler interface, or the appeal of bringing email, SMS, CRM, and automation together. Users moving from tools such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, SendGrid, and other email or marketing platforms describe getting a more affordable or streamlined setup for their core campaign needs; the transition itself ranges from quick and straightforward to requiring extra configuration.

What features or capabilities could make Brevo even more useful?

The most useful improvements would make Brevo more capable for teams running complex campaigns while reducing friction in everyday work.
  • Deeper reporting and more customizable analytics would make it easier to compare campaigns, track attribution, and understand workflow performance.
  • More advanced segmentation and automation controls would support layered audience criteria and complex customer journeys.
  • Greater flexibility in the email editor and templates would help teams create highly branded layouts with less manual work.
  • More reliable, flexible integrations and data synchronization would reduce setup steps and manual handling between systems.

How useful do Brevo users find its AI features in everyday use?

Brevo’s AI can be useful as a starting point for campaign work, especially when users need copy ideas or help refining a draft. Its value depends on the task: suggestions can speed up ideation, but users still describe editing generic or off-brand output before using it.
  • Writing and content: AI Text Generation and AI Text Summarization.
  • Campaign analysis and testing: Analytics and A/B testing.
  • Chatbot interactions: Collection of information, customization, and routing to a human.

"Strong APIs, deliverability tools, and templates, but customization and reporting feel limited"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

I really value the Integration APIs because they make it much easier to connect email functionality with my existing applications and workflows. Managing email deliverability is also crucial, and I like being able to monitor delivery status and identify spam-related issues so I can stay on top of email communication and handle problems more effectively. Email templates are very convenient when I’m sending similar emails regularly, since I can customize an existing template, save time, and keep communication consistent. I also found it quite convenient to coordinate email alongside SMS and WhatsApp from a single platform, and setting up and tracking email campaigns felt relatively straightforward. Automation triggered by user actions was useful for simplifying repetitive tasks and keeping follow-ups more consistent. Segmentation and personalization helped me tailor content to different audience groups so communication feels less one-size-fits-all and more meaningful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

Customization can take extra effort, especially when I need precise control over layout or formatting in templates, and it can get fairly time-consuming. Reporting and analytics has helpful basic metrics, but I sometimes need more granular reporting, and it would be easier to compare results across campaigns if the information were simpler to organize and interpret. Email scheduling is generally convenient, but tracking scheduling details and making last-minute changes across multiple emails or campaigns can feel a bit cumbersome, and I’d prefer a more streamlined interface with a clearer overview. For multichannel work, I’d also like a more unified overview when comparing scheduling and performance across channels. I haven’t used sandbox/test environments yet, but I can see how a dedicated testing environment would help before deploying more complex integrations. I also sometimes want more in-depth info for technical troubleshooting, and if detailed server log access and interpretation were more straightforward it would be easier to pinpoint root causes. I haven’t incorporated AI Copilot into my regular workflow, and clearer guidance and practical examples would make it easier to use effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong multichannel automation and personalization, but weak mobile and basic A/B testing"
5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

What I like best about Brevo is how it combines email, SMS, and WhatsApp marketing into one clean, unified platform while making advanced automation incredibly easy to set up. It saves me so much time by allowing me to manage multi-channel campaigns and track customer behavior all in a single place without constantly switching between different tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

What I dislike most about Brevo is the occasional limitation and strictness around their deliverability checks and account verification processes, which can sometimes temporarily block campaigns or slow things down when you are trying to launch time-sensitive marketing messages. "Worst Email Marketing Platform We’ve Ever Used"
0/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

Honestly, very little. The UI is decent at first glance, but once you actually try to use the platform at scale for real business operations, the problems start piling up quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

Brevo has been one of the most unreliable email platforms we’ve ever used.

Our accounts were deleted or suspended multiple times with little to no explanation. After going through the process of rebuilding everything and verifying the accounts again, they suspended us yet another time. This created massive operational headaches and wasted hours of work.

Deliverability was also terrible. Emails consistently underperformed compared to other platforms we’ve used, even with properly configured domains and warmed infrastructure.

Support was another major issue. Responses were slow, generic, and unhelpful. It often felt impossible to get a real answer or speak to someone who could actually solve the problem.

On top of that, Brevo charges extra for features that are considered basic or standard on competing platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless email + SMS automation with reliable triggers and strong segmentation"
5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

Combining Email and SMS within the same automation workflows was seamless and easy to set up. The automated welcome sequence and abandoned cart workflow worked exceptionally well, with triggers that reliably sent an initial email immediately after the action and then followed up with a conditional SMS reminder 24 hours later if the email wasn’t opened. Segmenting subscribers based on past purchase history and engagement activity (active vs. inactive users) allowed for much more relevant messaging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

The contact verification and import process can be quite strict for new accounts, which slows down initial setup. Additionally, advanced analytics options could be more detailed on the entry-level plans Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Email marketing and marketing automation software that offers great value for growing businesses."
5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

I've been using Brevo regularly for email campaigns and automation. The interface is easy to navigate, email deliverability has been reliable, and the automation workflows save me a lot of time. I also like that contacts, email, SMS and forms are all managed in one place. The free plan is generous and the paid plans offer good value for small businesses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

I'd like to see more advanced reporting and more template customization options. Some automation features could be easier to configure for new users, and the pricing increases quickly as contact lists grow. Overall, it's still a platform I would recommend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Brevo: Centralized Engagement with Room for Deeper Integrations"
4/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

I appreciate Brevo's unified customer data platform because it enables precise segmentation and automation, which directly impacts campaign performance. Brevo consolidates all customer touch points into a single profile, allowing me to automate highly personalized campaigns based on behavior or life cycle. This increases the relevance and conversion, enhancing ROI across multiple channels. Previously, I used Mailchimp for email and Twilio for SMS, and the fragmented data across these systems hindered unified personalization. Brevo's consolidated customer view drove the switch, simplifying omnichannel execution and improving ROI. Additionally, the initial setup was straightforward with Brevo's onboarding guides, making importing contacts and configuring initial workflows efficient, so the time to the first campaign was fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

Another refinement could be integration depth. While Brevo integrates with many platforms, deeper bidirectional sync of custom fields or advanced CRM workflows could accelerate complex B to B use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive Email Marketing & Automation Platform with Room for Improvement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

I really like that Brevo has most things I need in one place, thanks to its easy interface. It's pretty simple for me to manage contacts, create email campaigns, and set up automations without jumping between different tools. I also like how it's not too complicated to use, and once I got used to it, it became a big time-saver for me and my team. The setup was mostly straightforward, and the ability to integrate with tools like WordPress and Shopify is really helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

Some aspects of Brevo could be improved. The automation feels limited when trying to create a more complex workflow, and the reporting doesn't provide as much detailed information as I'd like. The email editor could also offer more design freedom. Also integrating with some other apps can require extra effort, particularly in the setup phase. While it's fine for regular email marketing, there's room for improvement for more advanced marketing needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"WooCommerce data flows into Brevo without building another integration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

Brevo fits well into several of our WordPress projects because it solves more than the marketing side of email. The Brevo for WordPress plugin can also handle the routine transactional messages generated by the site, including password resets, comment notifications, and form emails. I prefer moving that responsibility away from the web server because many hosting environments are not designed to deliver email reliably, and their logs are usually not very helpful once something goes wrong. The setup is fairly practical. We choose the sender, run a test, and route messages through Brevo SMTP without rebuilding every plugin that already relies on wp_mail(). On sites running contact forms, LearnDash, memberships, or registered-user workflows, that saves us from creating a separate delivery setup for every notification source. It also gives the team a common place to review transactional activity instead of jumping between WordPress, the hosting panel, and several external services just to confirm whether a message was actually delivered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

Most of the serious issues we have seen were caused by the site configuration, domain authentication, or the way data moved between WooCommerce and Brevo, not by the platform constantly going down. Even so, I would not describe the integration as fully automatic. The synchronization is useful, but custom checkout fields, manually created orders, and data that needs to move back into WordPress still require attention. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Extensive Free Features with Flexible Add-Ons"
5/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

That they offer extensive functionality on the free account, with the option to subscribe for only the additional functions needed, meaning if you need just one additional function, you do not need to increase your subscription significantly, paying for lots of unnecessary functions. I'm on the free plan and have yet to encounter a need to add paid-for functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

That updates to ensure browser compatibility focus on Chrome and Opera, but do not include Safari. I observed an issue and the suggested solution was to switch to a different browser. As an Apple user, Safari is deeply embedded in the Apple eco-system I use daily and to switch browser would be a major inconvenience.

Support was quick to respond and quickly grasped the issue and suggested a solution, however, not one I could reasonably apply. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"AI-assisted email copy and automation that usually hits the right timing"
4/5
What do you like best about Brevo?

I like the AI-assisted content features for drafting and refining email campaign copy. It quickly generated a usable starting point and saved me time on wording and structure. Building and personalizing emails and automated email responses work well for me, and the segmentation and personalization tools led to a significant improvement in campaign relevance. Multichannel marketing from one platform simplified things somewhat, and the workflows usually reached people at the right time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brevo?

I still needed to edit the AI output to match my brand tone and messaging. I’m only moderately confident about how my data is handled and what controls I have over what data the AI can access, and overall I don’t fully trust the AI capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
