I dislike that they leave no room for the competition when selecting a BDR vendor. Choosing Barracuda is a no-brainer since they blow the competition out of the water. I like having choices and Barracuda does not leave me with the pleasure of being able to make a decision on what provider is the best fit for me. I'd be stupid not to choose them. The fact that Barracuda has a MSP division has been a huge improvement. The old model was not MSP friendly. We have found there to be much more flexibility in the MSP structure and the ability to move licenses around with client as necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is nice to have a branded solution that is not being sold outside of the channel. No more competition from companies that sell direct to the end customer. The biggest feature that we love about Intronis is the Direct To Cloud Backups. A number of growing businesses don't have the ability to have high-cluster environments or they don't want a local backup appliance / HDD. The flexibility of Intronis and the ability to backup directly to the cloud, from any device, is a huge advantage we have found over other applications.
There has been a new update recently that allows for a lot of great new features. One of the 'simpler' ones has to be the HTML5 portal that lets you use full functionality with Chrome or Firefox. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the few downsides is that since you are relying on Direct To Cloud, you are at the whim of your ISP for transfer speed. In order to maximize the Backup speed, you need to make sure you have an ISP that can handle it. The Intronos ECHO PLatform has allowed us to offer an affordable alternative Back Solution to all our clients. Once we are certain they can live without full Business continuity; we then talk about Intronis Options.. We use a local external Hard drive to enhance restore time

Single point of reference for all backup statuses. Being able to change most backup options from the online portal instead of having to log into the local machine or server. Creating an installer for installing the backup agent is a breeze. We've done a few restores and besides one they were all very painless and fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We had one restore that did not go well. We were backup up the files on a server to cloud and to local usb drive. Something was configured incorrectly on the backup set (an option called "Backup to Local Vault first" that is ENABLED by default) and somehow the local vault files were corrupted or missing mysteriously. No problem, right? They're backed up to the cloud too, right? Nah. Since that option was enabled and the local vault didn't have the files, neither did the cloud. Doesn't make a lick of sense to me. I asked support and they didn't give me a good answer at all. So we went through and disabled that option on all of our backed up computers (manually, couldn't do it en masse through portal D:). Hopefully we'll not run into this issue again.
Another gripe I have is that sometimes the backup errors are sometimes not clear whatsoever. Thankfully their support is a quick chat away and they'll help you as much as they can. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Quite simply useless. Far too many problems to list them all here, but basically the product, service & support are all useless. Manages to simultaneously look like a GCSE IT project, but have so many set up options that make little sense that's its clearly been written by techies that haven't seen daylight for years. Very little common sense used in the settings, for example you can set a retention period of several years, but deleted files have a separate retention rule; either keep all & manually remove versions (!!) or automatically remove after 3 months. Really useful for customers who want 7 year backups. Support seems to be available 5pm GMT onwards as it's US based, but to be honest it doesn't really matter as none of the support staff have a clue how the product works or how to fix it. Currently trying to run a restore that's been going for 4 days but it's just sitting there not doing anything. Restores that have completed have been missing massive amounts of data, I wouldn't trust this product with my customers data. Support can sometimes be troublesome to deal with, but with a bit of pressure they've always come through for us. They always want to call us on the phone for an issue rather than email us back, which can sometimes be difficult to answer due to being on the phone with our clients. I also severely dislike that you're auto-locked into a yearly contract every year... I can understand the first year but after that it continues automatically year after year. Sales practices, product quality and poor support. Worst thing of all is the deployment. Their mass deployment does not work as intended. It is too cumbersome and the management console is too slow. Later the real problems started. Systems stopped their backups, nothing helped: reinstall, deleting/adding back to console, then I finally given up and looked elsewhere for better solution. I ended up with Wholesalebackup. It cost me about the same in total monthly expenses, but with no storage limit as I run it on collocated server. Deployment is 10x faster and easier, management is a breeze as well. Nobody got time for Intronis slow response! Also, the dashboard, although fancy looking, lack efficiency. Centralized management; ease of setup; effective notifications. Also, the ability to grant customer access so that they (the client) can see the results of the backup jobs. It is a strong selling point that none of my clients use after two weeks since during that time, they become confident that the product is doing what it should. There's a lack of ability to back up Exchange DAGs. Only other issue we ran into was when we were trying to do a DR test of an entire VM environment that we had backed up with the solution. It chews up way too much time dealing with failed backups. Support has 2 answers, "uninstall/reinstall" and "it must be your hardware, it can't be us". The product is terrible, and the only thing worse is getting stuck in an auto-renewing contract without a friendly, "hey, your agreement for $1000/mo renews next month".

The EchoPlatform management portal allows us to fully manage our customer's online backups and know when there is a problem, often before the customer does.
There are extensive plugins for things like Exchange and SQL that allow for selective comprehensive backup schemes for just about anything. Many providers can't say that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ease of Management of hundreds of backup agents at once. Simple interface for configuration and scheduling of a nice variety of backup types, including imaging, files and folders, SQL database, Exchange. Most important feature for us has been the ability to Image systems quickly. There are still some tweaks to be made in regard to quick VMware or Hyper-V restore from a physical computers backup image, but they are at least making improvements towards this. Interface on the local machines itself is still a bit cumbersome and slow, but doesn't impact the solution overall. Its just an administrative thing.
When the agent has problems locally, it can be at times, and they are rare, difficult to get the agent running again.
