What do you like best about Azure SQL Database?

I like that there is little infrastructure management that is needed if you really want to. There are many ways to work with an Azure SQL database and there is a lot of flexibility that can be used. Azure SQL databases also have the ability to link directly to files in storage accounts to use them as external tables. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Azure SQL Database?

There was a quote that went similarly to "with great power comes great responsibility". Azure SQL Databases have so many different configurations that it can become very cumbersome to master. There is always something new that can be leveraged. It becomes a learning exercise making sure every few months that you are getting the best performance and use out of the databases. Recommendations to others considering Azure SQL Database:

I would recommend using Azure SQL Database. There have the ability to be able to used in many situations. There are many uses and ways to use the databases and there is not the infrastructure that is needed. The database can be scaled to the needs as you need as well. What problems is Azure SQL Database solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have been looking for places where we can use staging databases and tables to work with data coming from multiple sources. This includes getting data files and dropping them into storage accounts, and after that pulling them into the databases using external file tables and cleaning the data so that it can be ingested in other systems. The best thing about Azure SQL Database is that it supports a broad range of applications and workloads. It also has the provision to scale our database quickly. Also, the built-in availability of SLA, dynamic scaling, and automatic performance are extremely useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Azure SQL Database?

Something that I absolutely dislike about Azure SQL Database is that you cannot use Windows authentication. Also, the lack of an SQL agent makes completing time-specific tasks very complicated.
