What do you like best about AWS Lambda?

"Serverless computing using AWS Lambda"

What do you like best about AWS Lambda?

Pay as you go is what i liked about AWS Lambda functions unlike EC2 instance in AWS where I need to pay for the server usage regardless of whether or not my application is being used or not.

With AWS Lambda functions, I need not worry about spinning up an instance or web server. AWS handles all this for me when using Lambda Functions.

What do you dislike about AWS Lambda?

AWS Lambda functions can be run up to maximum of only 15 minutes. I wish it was at-least 30 minutes because some of our jobs take up to an hour to complete and we had to move away from using Lambda Functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Difficult to configure the environment for complex workloads (ie. running casperjs), and lack of local debugging support (though some of that should now be available). Hoping custom execution environments help with the former issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is very little I don't like. The concurrency limits have been an issue in the past. The biggest pain point with Lambda is troubleshooting using CloudWatch Logs, but that's an issue with CWL, not the Lambda service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about AWS Lambda?

Writing code directly in lambda and not using IDE.

"Great for building a web service without any server administration"

What do you like best about AWS Lambda?

I was able to deploy a webservice in only a few hours without worrying about how it would be hosted or creating a container to host it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Lambda?

The AWS Java API documentation was confusing as there were multiple ways to receive requests and the debugging was difficult as I had no good way of exeucting the harness without my IDE. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have not run into any major issue so far. That said, the ability to build tests could be enhanced. Also would like better integration to a local dev/test/build environment. My team runs the reporting tool of our enterprise software and there is a lot of scheduled distribution that runs all day long.
