"Great tool for enterprise"
What do you like best about Appfarm?

Highly flexible platform that takes care of UI, Logic and Data. Integrated database and great tools for setting permissions makes it really easy to create robust applications. With one-click deploy and several environments its easy to iterate fast while testing in non-production environments. The company is reachable and offer great support through documentation, community and customer support. Its easy to create modern looking UI. Very predictable and easy to understand pricing. Highly recommended to use for business applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appfarm?

Somewhat of a steep learning curve. Pricing is more often than not and advantage, but smaller businesses can sometimes fit a bit awkwardly in the tiers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible, Fast and Scalable"
What do you like best about Appfarm?

Appfarm has hit the sweatspot of abstraction and flexibility in the no-code/low-code/visual programming space. With a coding background it is easy to learn, and when you do, developing is fast.

For the last 3+ years I have been developing in Appfarm close to full time, and I have yet to run into a limitation while launching apps ranging from Lightweight accounting/Erp, Web shops and Contract editing and signing.

As JSON integrations comes almost out of the box and custom coding covers the rest, Appfarm can integrate easily with all URL based APIs.

Lastly, the customer support is great with issues and calls with their developers are set up withing a day or two, if not the same day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appfarm?

The only downside I have seen so far happens when Appfarm is used to only solve either very simple business needs, or only solve very specific advanced programming cases. Everything else is covered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"By far the best Low-code tool I have tried for problems that cannot be solved out of the box"
What do you like best about Appfarm?

When selecting a low-code tool, you are often told you need to choose between ease of development/administration and flexibility. With Appfarm you get both. What I like:

- Power and Flexibility

I am generally impressed by how good the applications are performing, and how fast it is to develop solutions. This is especially easy to see when enabling live updates on the data, as you are able to instantly see changes from other users with minimal latency. Really impressive.

- Fast Onboarding

The platform is intuitive to learn and quick to get started with, reducing ramp-up time for new users.

- Clean, Maintainable UI

Its uncluttered interface streamlines both development and ongoing administration of solutions.

- Rich Built-In Functionality

Most requirements can be met using out-of-the-box features, but if you have some very specific requirements you are always able to solve it with the “Coded Component”, as it lets you write custom HTML/JavaScript when you need complete control. An example from us is that we needed a very specific type of relationship chart, and we were able to solve this by adding a custom Javascript library and visualize our data with this.

- Robust Debugging Tools

Integrated debugging makes troubleshooting straightforward, accelerating development cycles. Much easier to use these, compared to the browser's built-in devtools.

- Above-Average Integration

It is not a native integration platform, but Appfarm is easy to integrate with other systems and sources. We are using Appfarm as the glue between all of our systems and processes as it is easy to integrate and share data, but it's real power comes from the amazing Applications you can easily create.

- Security, Data sharing & RLS capability

Appfarm's approach to data sharing and limitation with users is the best I have used in any low-code platform. They have all the standard permission restrictions that you expect, but in addition to this you can add a lot of custom rules on both client and server side, on top of the normal CRUDA permissions, making administering a complex and flexible permission hierarchy really easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appfarm?

Appfarm is an amazing product, but there are some aspects that could have been even better.

-Limited Server-Side Automation Triggers

The server side automations (called Services) could use some love. It lacks database-event triggers. You can only invoke automations via client-side actions or scheduled jobs, which can complicate truly event-driven workflows.

-Unstable Service Debugging Under Load

While the debugging studio for Services is powerful, it can become unreliable when the system experiences high concurrency or large data volumes.

-Basic Monitoring, Logging & Administration

Built-in tools for monitoring and logging are minimal. It is really easy to add custom logging and monitoring solutions, but it requires a little extra development effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the most interesting and evolving No-Code tool"
What do you like best about Appfarm?

Appfarm offers one of the smoothest onboarding experiences I've encountered. The platform is intuitive, easy to handle, and packed with features to explore. It’s especially helpful for new developers — everything just makes sense.

As a software engineer, Appfarm completely changed my perception of low-code/no-code development. In fact, i'm full-time working on it ! You can build safely and quickly, handle webservice and External API's and when needed, you have the flexibility to integrate custom code, including external libraries, through coded components.

Customer support is highly responsive and closely connected to the community, and the platform itself evolves at an impressive pace, following and listening closely to the community needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appfarm?

like most no-code platforms, Appfarm can feel a bit like a "black box"

You don’t always have full visibility into what’s happening under the hood, which can limit opportunities for deep optimization. Additionally, for some customers, the shift to a fully cloud-based database might be a challenge, although this is increasingly becoming the norm across the industry plus you can still integrate your own process for you private DB. "Great platform for visual, fullstack web and app development"
What do you like best about Appfarm?

The best part about appfarm is that it is a visual development tool which makes frontend development easier and faster. Backend implementation is also very straight forward and the entire platform is a great one-stop solution for data modelling, backend logic and frontend interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appfarm?

As appfarm is a low/no code platform, there are more restrictions than traditional code. It allows for some coded components, but mostly it focuses on no-code components. This has on occasion has caused some restrictions, but there are often workarounds that one can use in most cases.

The lisence can also be quite expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The perfect plattform to implement flexible and solid solutions fast. Really fast."
What do you like best about Appfarm?

Coming from a proprietary collaborative software platform, Lotus Notes/Domino, development in Appfarm feels both familiar and logical. I could recognize many of the structural concepts in the platform and apply my knowledge in software design and development from the start.

Appfarm is of course a much more capable and flexible platform than those from my past. I can develop a much wider range of applications, and the platform is continually improving so that I can focus on my applications and leave many of my usual concerns behind.

Concerns in this regard would be stuff like security, scalability and deployment. Leaving just the fun part behind. Creating cool applications.

I truly enjoy exploring the capabilities of this platform, my everyday work life has become way more fun. Do I really get paid for doing this? Redefining MAGA to Make Apps Great Again… Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appfarm?

Making a component-based development platform will necessarily include some limitations. You just cannot make a component for everything. Sooner or later, you will meet a demand that you cannot solve using the standard components.

This is where Appfarm changes from No Code to Low Code for me. You can bypass most limitations with coded components. For some this might not be helpful, but if you have some experience in coding, it will set you free. Luckily, for a coder, this is actually the fun part. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Business solution or startup product development? Appfarm got you!"
What do you like best about Appfarm?

My first encounter with Appfarm was back in 2019 when I co-founded a tech startup with no technical co-founders. After some searching, trial and error, I found Appfarm, and never looked back.

I have since used Appfarm in several cases, from startup MVPs, business solutions, external websites, consultancy, and full product development. My latest startup (Morescope) has built a 10MEUR business mostly on Appfarm. And Appfarm has always stood the test of time:

- Fast to develop new features from scratch

- Many features out of the box: Authentication, back-end, front-end, GraphQL, APIs, cache, stuff you don't want to think about when starting up a new solution.

- Easy to scale up solutions to internal and external users

- Good control, the need for additional documentation is limited when onboarding new developers to your team

- Courses and certifications for new developers

- There exists a network of Appfarm-certified consultants that may help out if needed.

- Easy to integrate with other tools and frameworks

- A safety foundation that builds trust (they are ISO 27001 certified, which big customers and investors like) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appfarm?

While I have encountered few real limitations in Appfarm, there are some restrictions to be aware of:

- In very database-heavy solutions, there are certain limitations in backend performance. You need to work with all the data in the client, limiting large data operations.

- The lack of "real" branching makes it hard for larger development teams to work together (more than about 5)

- Even though Appfarm now also implements certain AI features, you will not get the whole benefit of the AI revolution that is happening (This might be a bigger no-code vs AI-code discussion) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A community-driven Appfarm - helps both the customer and themselves to improve"
What do you like best about Appfarm?

Appfarm have many positive sides!

1. They are very friendly and easy-going employees - all of them(at least the ones i've talked to, but that's quite a few of them by now)

As a customer it's easy to go to them and ask for help or for ex. ask them to make a new function. They are always very helpful and find solutions quickly.

2. Their product is very intuitive and great to use.

I had a little bit of experience with programming when i started - and i believed it helped me get quicker up to the pace then would have been without that experience.

But i believe anyone who's able to learn will get to making huge apps in a short time.

3. Appfarm are constantly updating their platform, sometimes with totally new features, but the best of all is that they listen to their customers.

If we flag a problem or ask for a totally new feature - Appfarm will have it up and running in "no time"!

I would say this is a mutual beneficial relationship: as we, the customers help appfarm get better, and they help us get better as well(by improving the tech).

Usually there are a few major updates every year and a lot of bug fixes and smaller new features every month.

4. The sites and/or apps are easy to implement - it possible to use whatever device you'd like, mobiles, pc's etc. If you have a really unique device it might not be plug and play, but we've done that with a device called Zebra, and appfarm got one of the devices for testing and shortly after it was implementet to that devices too.

5. The sites and apps are easy to integrate with existing systems. As long as you have an API to connect to it can flawlessy work as an addition to or instead of an older system.

6. The apps can handle a lot of traffic. We have a lot of daily users and i've heard about other companies having even more. Never heard any complaints abour performance or anything like that.

7. Appfarm frequently invite their customers to forums to discuss different subject in their environment. The community are allowed to voice in what they want to know more about for these forums.

Everything is taped and documented for us to later watch it again if we want to.

My main point is: Appfarm appreciate their community and listen to us. I feel like that's the best thing about appfarm.

also, the community has grown quite big over the years. And even the community members are really helpful if you post a problem you're having! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appfarm?

If the feature doesn't exist in Appfarm Create already it might take a while before it's available. Depending on the scale of the project of course.

Like an "undo"-button and being able to deploy only selected features was long awaited - and i believe they wanted to add them sooner, but when it first arrived it was amazing!

And the prices, i don't dislike the prices, but i dislike that my company doesn't prioritize buying more developing hours from the solution engineers. Our ecosystem would have been even better!

So i would recommend to educate at least 1-2 people to get the knowledge on how to do changes themselves(appfarm have a cheap beginner course). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible and intuitive platform for rapid app development with great support."
What do you like best about Appfarm?

Appfarm makes it incredibly fast and simple to build a wide range of applications, with an intuitive and simple to learn full-stack development platform.

The drag and drop style of frontend development makes it quick and fun to setup pretty apps just how your designers imagined, while easily developing actions and logic to the app handling the backend and data operations with your data model. This means both simple and complex functionalities are mostly handled with ease. Furthermore, a wide range of third party integrations are also supported which is a great flexibility.

Appfarm allows you to build your business apps (in some cases, a new company) in a matter of weeks/months. It also allows you to quickly iterate on new features and changes, with simple testing and no-hassle deployment.

Finally, both the Appfarm community and support/staff are very helpful, helping you solve challenges should you encounter any. It is also very positive that Appfarm is listening to its customers and community, and is continuously improving the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appfarm?

In some cases one might encounter limitations in the platform, due to the nature no-code/low-code development. Typically, it can be solved with workarounds (community/support is helpful with this) or coded components.

The pricing can in some cases feel steep or unclear, especially for small-scale or limited budget projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful low-code platform with outstanding flexibility and support"
What do you like best about Appfarm?

Appfarm enables us to build powerful, customized business applications without relying on traditional software development. Its flexibility allows for rapid iteration, which is especially valuable in a fast-paced environment. The user interface is intuitive, and the visual development model makes it accessible for both tech-savvy and non-technical team members. We've also been impressed by Appfarm's responsiveness to feature requests and the quality of their support team — they're fast, competent, and solution-oriented. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appfarm?

While Appfarm is incredibly flexible, more advanced use cases can sometimes require creative workarounds, especially when dealing with complex data models or external system integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
