What i appreciate most about MySQL is its absolute reliability and the massive community support behind it. as a DevOps engineer, i have integrated MySQL into numerous stacks and the ease of setting it up whether via Docker containers or managed services like AWS RDS is a huge plus. Its predictable, the documentation is everywhere and if you run into an error, someone else has almost certainly solved it on Stack Overflow already. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While its great for most use cases, it can get a bit heavy on memory if not tuned properly for specific hardware. i have also noticed that performance can take a significant hit when handling very complex joins on massive datasets if your indexing isn't 100% perfect. also compared to some newer NoSQL options, scaling horizontally requires a bit more manual effort and architectural planning.
