## Dentally Reviews
 ### 1. Dentally is good for straighforward tasks but confusing UI, lost notes & extra fees

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

I switched to Dentally from another provider. It's an online, cloud-based system that's accessible anywhere and has a fast connection. NHS and private fees are clearly distinct. It integrates photos and x-rays, and the helpline is responsive.

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

User interface is somewhat confusing. Onboarding could be better, and the online help is clunky — I found it easier to locate information via Claud. It's difficult to find specific codes; e.g., if a tooth requires a certain type of crown, choosing the correct option requires three clicks and isn't always intuitive. I could not save or find templates when needed, and many notes were not saved when I checked the following week. The AI does not bring up suitable notes when prompted. There are unnecessary extra fees for some features.

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Had to complete all tasks locally now easy access from anywhere to complete administrative tasks; previous many missed payments now it clearly highlights outstanding payments. The AI shows promise once refined, and linking photos with X-rays and adjusting them would be beneficial for diagnosis.

 ### 2. Cloud-Based Access Simplifies Multi-Practice Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dr .Fathimath S. | Practice Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

The thing I like most about Dentally is the simplicity. It's easy to access from everywhere. It's cloud based, so everyone can access it regardless of which corner of the world they're in. The dentists can access patient records from anywhere, so they can quickly review, schedule, or make changes for whatever they need. Even if the dentists work in multiple practices, they can get access to all the patient records under the same cloud based storage. For example, when we had a query about a patient, a dentist working across multiple properties could access that patient's records from different practices rather than us needing to send the records off to her to review. It was quite easy for her to get into the patient account and profile, check the records, and update us. I also like that I can easily run reports and keep good records of everything in the practice. It integrates with our software like Dentro, with CareStack, our phone recording system, so conversations with patients over the phone get added to the notes directly rather than us typing them. The setup was smooth too — we provided training for all the staff and the Dentally support team was quite helpful. After a week of training, everyone was pretty happy with Dentally and how the system works.

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

I felt the chat list in Dentally is missing a broadcast feature. A chat list. You know, if there is an emergency or an announcement that need to give to all members of the staff who are online, the chat list doesn't have the broadcast button. I would suggest a broadcast button, broadcast chat, or, like, announcement so the information needs to pass to every staff who is working on that day. That would be much helpful.

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I easily run reports and keep good records of all our patient info. Since it's cloud based, our dentists can access patient records from anywhere, even across multiple practices, so they can quickly review, schedule, or make changes without us sending records over.

 ### 3. Easy-to-Use, Accessible Across Any Device

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan B. | Founder & Business Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

It's easy to use, to be honest with you. Once you've found your way around it all, especially with charting, it's very different to previous software I've used, but it is very, very straightforward. It's easy to access, so should there be a problem with one of the computers in surgery, we can access it on one of our iPads or another laptop. It made things easier because I was able to access it on another device rather than just the in-surgery desktop computer. Being in rural Cornwall, sometimes there are problems with connections, and it can take a bit longer to get technological support, so to be able to access Dentally from any device was an absolute godsend. It made things so much easier. Charting on patient records is the bread and butter of the job, and as a dental nurse your job is to help the dentist with their charting. Working across three different dental practices under one umbrella company, it made it much easier to stay in contact with my colleagues in other locations, as well as sharing patient information and clinical notes securely, safely in line with GDPR. It was also a bit more cost effective and worked better in line with our X-ray equipment. The setup took a while to get used to since we all had to learn new methods of charting and recording patient notes, but once we'd figured it out it was fine, it wasn't too bad. I didn't have any problems with it at all and would happily recommend it to anybody that needed that software.

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

{"I find the fact Dentally is connected to the Internet problematic. Being in rural Cornwall, sometimes there are problems with connections, and things like that. It does make it a bit tricky. Should the Internet go down one day, you can't access anything.","I find it can take a bit longer to get that technological support because of our location.","It took a while to get used to. We all had to learn new methods of charting and recording patient notes. However, once we'd figured it out, it was fine."}

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working across three dental practices under one company, it made it much easier to stay in contact with colleagues in other locations, and to share patient information and clinical notes securely in line with GDPR. I can access it from any device, which is a godsend in rural Cornwall.

 ### 4. Nice review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Highly recommended . | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

I like how Dental Intelligence helps a lot with communicating with patients about scheduling their appointments, especially if they are overdue. It also sends reminders to patients to collect payments and facilitates communication for filling and signing due forms and consents. I appreciate the option of mass communication that can be sent all at once to fill gaps in the schedule, which used to take hours over the phone and now can be done with a click of a button. The digital forms also make it easier to keep the patients' accounts up to date. Additionally, we have settings in Dental Intelligence to send due forms like HIPPA and medical history to patients before appointments, which speeds up their check-in process. Although the initial setup involved a lot of work and training, they helped us throughout the process.

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

We can't post insurance payments and we cannot schedule from Dental Intelligence; we have to do these from our dental software.

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

n/a

 ### 5. Dentally: Clear, user-friendly charting and mail, but appointment tracking needs improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reem A. | Restorative Dentist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

Dentally mail and ease of charting and its user friendly interface. It’s also very clear and not gimmicky. I like the chat feature and seeing payments going out

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

Chatting could be bet tree T. It’s probably too simple. Also very difficult to track who has cancelled appointments and whether they’ve been cancelled or moved

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is a tracking and log of patient flow and payments. I also really like seeing graphs and the statistics between months and years. I like to analyse

 ### 6. Cloud-Based Solution Simplifying Dental Practice Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gagandeep K. | Dentist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

I find Dentally easy to use, which is great for onboarding new employees. The fact that it's cloud-based makes appointment management straightforward, as I can access it from anywhere with an Internet connection without the need for complex servers. This accessibility simplifies things for me.

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

I mean, it can have some advanced features like, you know, when it comes to customizing for every dentist or for every patient. When it comes to pricing, sometimes I have to do it manually. So I think that is something we can work on.

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dentally helps with recording patient management, diary management, and allows doctors to do clinical charting and treatment planning easily. It simplifies seeing what's needed for patient bookings.

 ### 7. Efficient, User-Friendly Dental Management Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

I like that Dentally is easy to use, especially how notes preload with treatment plans and how easy it is to edit everything. I appreciate being able to access it from my own devices. It's also great that as an employer limits can be set for what times staff can access it, which helps keep it more GDPR compliant. I found the transition to Dentally from another product easy, taking me about half the time to learn compared to others. The integration with imaging software, Stripe, and other lead generating tools works well, and we've never had issues with it. I'm very happy with these aspects of Dentally.

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

Some of the administrative accesses are less user-friendly when trying to get certain kinds of information out of Dentally. While it's easy to use from an admin point of view initially, it's less flexible in extracting other bits of data compared to other dental software. Dentsply has kind of decided the information that's available, which makes it slightly less user friendly if you want more than what they offer.

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dentally to digitize records, manage patient loads, extract data easily, and ensure correct bookings. It's user-friendly and helps maximize our patient base.

 ### 8. Great auto-charting and colour coding, but dentally feels more complicated now

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brianna P. | Receptionist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

I appreciate the auto-charting of mixed dentition for children, and I also love the colour coding on the chart because it clearly shows the difference between NHS and Private patients.

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

It has become a lot more complicated to use. I used it just over a year ago and loved it and then switched to SOE. My practice has just made the switch to dentally and I believe it’s way harder to use now and some simple processes are made longer.

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are integrating Dentally into our CRM program, so hopefully this will expand our overall patient list, help increase revenue, and result in appointments being booked well in advance.

 ### 9. Simple, Modern Layout with Seamless Connected X-rays

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Olivia C. | Head Dental Nurse and Treatment Co-Ordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

Simple layout, I like the X-rays feature that it is all connected rather than using exact and cliniview separately. It is very easy to follow, and looks very modern

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

There are less templates to use from. As a nurse, I was used to being able to edit and add different treatments but there seems to be less on dentally

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A problem I have noticed was when moving over from exact to dentally, the templates did not translate into dentally and previous notes look a bit of a mess

 ### 10. Very Simple, Beginner-Friendly and Free of Unnecessary Complexity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sruthi B. | Senior care assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

Very simple to use, beginner-friendly, and free of unnecessary complexities.

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

Base charting is not clearly differentiated from treatment plan contents, which causes confusion.

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The AI feature in Dentally helps most clinicians produce much better, clearer notes and saves them time.

 ### 11. Dentally Has Grown With Us – A Smart Move for Our Expanding Practice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert H. | Owner and Principal Dentist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

What we liked most about Dentally was its cloud-based flexibility and the way it supports the growth of both our practice and the software itself. The constant evolution, regular improvements, and open-mindedness to user feedback have made a big difference. The practice management tools—especially the detailed analytics and reporting—have exceeded our expectations and truly helped us run a more efficient and insightful operation.

Our overall experience with Dentally has been very positive. The transition was managed exceptionally well by their team, who took the lead to ensure the migration was smooth and minimized disruption. While we did face some initial challenges—like a learning curve in reception logistics and early clinical glitches—Dentally’s support team was consistently available, responsive, and open to feedback.

A standout part of our experience has been the online support and training options. Initially, our team was hesitant to engage with these resources, but over time, they've proven incredibly valuable. The guidance, insight, and structured training from the Dentally team have helped us grow significantly in our use of the software and in our practice management overall.

Dentally has evolved continuously over the three years we’ve used it on a daily basis, improving in ways that align with the growth and philosophies of our practice. We feel like we've grown together—and we couldn’t be happier with the move.

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

Initially, we found the treatment planning and charting to be slow and glitchy, and the reception team experienced a bit of a learning curve with appointment and practitioner logistics. That said, Dentally has addressed many of these issues through updates and improvements, and the system has become much more intuitive over time.

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dentally has addressed several operational challenges we faced as a growing practice. One of the biggest problems was a lack of efficiency and visibility in our previous software. Dentally’s intuitive workflows and cloud-based system have improved both team collaboration and access across locations or working styles.

Another key issue was limited data and reporting—Dentally’s advanced analytics now allow us to track team performance, appointment trends, and practice growth in a much more structured and meaningful way.

Additionally, we struggled with inconsistent training and support in the past. Dentally’s online training and support resources have helped standardize onboarding for new staff and ongoing learning for the team. Even staff who were initially hesitant now regularly use these tools and benefit from the guidance provided.

These improvements have led to more streamlined operations, better decision-making, and ultimately, a smoother patient and team experience.

 ### 12. Intuitive Templates and Typing, X‑Ray Feature Needs Better Integration

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

Easy to use with Templates and typing functions

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

X ray part it’s not very convenient, have to click it separately

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick plan
Makes everything quicker

 ### 13. More than just a patient management software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

Where Dentally truly stands out is in two key areas:
1.	Continuous Improvement:
Dentally evolves rapidly based on user feedback. I’ve been impressed by how quickly the team implements relevant updates, ensuring the software stays modern. With its integration of cutting-edge technologies like AI, I’m reassured that it won’t become outdated.
2.	Growth-Oriented Support:
Dentally goes beyond being just a tool. Their team actively helps you grow your practice by guiding you through pulling insightful reports, identifying areas for improvement, and regularly reviewing progress to optimize operations.

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

We have experienced some glitches which required technical support. It's pretty minor just time consuming.
Most of my new staff that has never used Dentally previously has said it's very easy to use and navigate. The software works extremely well with proper input form the user (like all software I guess), And it does take some time to understand the software thoroughly to maximise its function, so a bit of a learning curve on all the team members to get the full benefits and making sure the software compliments the business seamlessly.

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Obviously keeping patients records accurately and securely.
Linking to HICAPS for ease of payments. Record and offers payment links for offsite payment collection.
Reporting to assist in business analysis-helps build the improve the business.

 ### 14. The best Aussie dental practice management software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

Dentally is an ever evolving software that aims to streamline your daily practice management and clinical workflow. It is highly customisable, intuitive to use and has so many great features including online booking, recall and reminder automations, multi language support, online patient portal, digital forms and more. Hicaps and CDBS integrated, and also can be linked to a number of imaging software including DTX studio. The team is consistently pushing updates every month and is very responsive and helpful. The Dentally Elevate program is an added bonus where a business coach helps you find areas to improve, gives best practice suggestions and helps you keep you accountable for the business goals you set. 100% recommend this PMS for Australian dentists.

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

Hicaps connectivity is a bit hit and miss but this may or may not be more a hicaps issue.

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Dentally for all aspects of our day to day clinical and administrative functions. It has easy to use appointment books, automated appointment reminders and recalls that can be set up with your specific requirements. Charting and creating treatment plans is simple and estimates can be created with health insurance rebate estimates as well.

 ### 15. A great experience starting our dental business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anne-Maree S. | Practice Manager and Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

The team's engagement and responsiveness to suggestions for improvements to clinical and business management aspects are excellent. Their direct support to grow our start-up business has been invaluable! The customer support both on the chat function and via email with our Dentally Elevate consultant has been amazing.

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

We had a few pain points with account payment management and a few clinical aspects in charting/treatment planning that were inconvenient or inefficient - however we raised these with the Dentally team and are happy to say that solutions have already been implemented for most of these issues raised.

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing our appointment book in an efficient way to save time, and also achieve our business growth goals.

 ### 16. Dentally - an Australian Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick C. | Staff Officer - Director General Navy Health Reserves, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Dentally?**

Dentally product development team has been amazing. They continue to add features and respond to suggestions very quickly

**What do you dislike about Dentally?**

It's not really a 'dislike' more an observation...it is a product that needs to support multiple international markets, so sometimes other markets get access to features before Australia

**What problems is Dentally solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dentally seems to have cracked the nut related to patient communication automation
