What do you like best about SIDEXIS 4?

What do you dislike about SIDEXIS 4?

What do you like best about SIDEXIS 4?

The 3D/2D options. We can take anywhere from bitewings and panoramic x-rays to a cone beam scan on the same machine. It is helpful in determining if there is a 4th canal when doing a root canal as well. Very nice for the extreme gagging patients. The bitewing option allows for much easier x-rays on the patient. While the quality of the BWX are not that of an actual film, they are still pretty good.

Great for implant placement! Irreplaceable for those who use guided surgery for implants. Shows all of the structure, the mental foramen, and the mandibular nerve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SIDEXIS 4?

The program is a bit difficult, there are no set instructions, and when you need a refresher, it's difficult to know who you need to get in touch with. Not a lot of local support with this. Trying to explain issues over the phone is sometimes tough. Something needs to be done in simplifying the instructions, or an annual refresher course should be offered. If you don't use it daily, you forget all the settings.

Often, the program will freeze and you have to log completely out of the system AND computer and restart everything. Very frustrating when you have a patient ready to go, and you have to have them move, and reboot everything.

It is also difficult if you need to send to another office. it's not something you can just email.

Recently it was freezing about 10 seconds into the scan. Took a repairman on site and a tech from Sirona that had to remote into our computer TWO DAYS to figure out all the error messages we were receiving. Seems to be much better, now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering SIDEXIS 4:

I found it is best if you are experiencing problems to contact your practice management company to have them assist you. The equipment is too expensive to try to figure out on your own, even with the help of the Sirona tech-which is usually only by remote. Our PM, Patterson, had a tech come into the office that worked hand in hand-virtually, of course, to solve our problems and get us back up and running. I couldn't have done it without their help. What problems is SIDEXIS 4 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Makes implant placement not a guessing game. You can see where the nerve and mental foramen are and sinus so that you can choose the proper size implant and if an implant is the right choice for the patient. A must have for guided surgical implant placement. Recently started placing multiple implants for an implant supported denture, and we couldn't have done it without it! Although it isn't generally a covered cost by insurance, most patients see the value and more insurance companies are recognizing it as a service that needs to be covered.

As I said above, it is incredibly useful for the gaggers and young patients alike to take BWX. Very simple process that allows the doctor to have x-rays and the patient doesn't feel like they have had their mouth invaded by plastic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about SIDEXIS 4?

Using Sidexis 4 is a necessary practice in our office. The great thing about it is even the most non-computer savvy people can use it. We have employees with 0-100% knowledge of computers. The program is so easy that even those who have 0% can figure it out after being shown just one time. It's strong, its reliable, and it's very user-friendly. What do you dislike about SIDEXIS 4?

There isn't much that I dislike about the program. When I start to get mad at it, I get on the phone with Tech support, and they log in and fix whatever issue I can't fix myself. Because the only time that I have an issue is when it's usually something with the x-ray unit not wanting to talk to Sidexis. I'm happy that I can't give you more to this question. Recommendations to others considering SIDEXIS 4:

The best thing I can tell you is to use it! We are a Patterson office so the way it integrates with our technology is phenominal. If you are someone like me and hate waiting for tech support or your IT guy to come out and fix it, then this is the program you want. Because with any issue that comes up it's a quick phone call with someone remoting in and fixing my issues. So to me that is worth more than anything! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SIDEXIS 4 solving and how is that benefiting you?

The ability to look at our 3D x-rays in a way we never thought we could when we started the practice 11 years ago. The fact that we can capture a cone beam and then see EVERYTHING and more than what a standard Panorex can do. To be able and manipulate the angels makes diagnosing and treatment planning much more accessible and easier at a higher level for our patients, and that's something that we never thought we'd be able to do when we first opened.
