## About ClubExpress
ClubExpress provides associations with an Internet platform to manage both front-office and back-office operations. ClubExpress combines the association website with the membership database, secure online member signup, renewals and expirations, credit-card processing, membership directory, discussion forums, event calendar and online registration, E-commerce storefront, committees, documents, interests and other modules based on what clubs and associations do. The platform includes a full suite of administration tools to run the organization. There is no programming or HTML experience required; everything is controlled by menus and dialog boxes, and all changes are immediately live. We use state-of-the-art security, there's no advertising and associations own their data at all times.

## ClubExpress Reviews
 ### 1. Half-Baked Features, Confusing UI, and No Clarity on API/SSO

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

We came from a home brewed Wordpress site, and for our volunteers, website administration is much easier in Club Express.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Features are half baked. User interface designers have made some truly bizarre choices that are confusing for users. They claim to have an API and SSO, but in 6 months of asking, I've received zero details or documentation about it. I'm not even convinced that it exists. I have trouble getting support to understand simple use cases, and I don't feel like they listen when I point out usability flaws. I have 20 years experience working in membership management, including 10 years as a consultant, and using this product tests my patience. Oh, and password resets. Don't get me started. I've had more complaints about password resets. They send a PLAIN TEXT PASSWORD BY EMAIL like it is they year 2000!

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy website management and dues payment. Event registration is good enough.

 ### 2. Horrible. Do not use

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brice P. | CEO & President, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2025

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

If you're interested in losing time and money then join the clubexpress to financial difficulties and loss of membership.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Customer support is terrible. No phone numbers available to call and when you request a call there is no one that will call you back. The availability of staff to resolve problems is severely lacking.

The system is overly complicated and difficult to navigate due it's lack of intuitive usage abilities.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None

**Official Response from Bob Rosenthal:**

> We’re sorry your experience didn’t meet expectations, and we’re always working to improve our platform and support.

Many organizations find ClubExpress to be a powerful solution for managing memberships, events, communications, and more. While we offer extensive features, we recognize there’s a learning curve and provide training, tutorials, webinars, online help, and support to help users navigate effectively.

Regarding customer support, we do offer multiple ways to get in touch, including phone and email to ensure every inquiry is addressed properly. We’re continuously refining our processes to enhance response times and overall customer satisfaction.

We’d love to discuss your concerns and help improve your experience. Please feel free to reach out to support@clubexpress.com, and we’ll do our best to assist you.

 ### 3. Loving the new website

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2024

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

I like that it has a new look and feel to it and that it is more user friendly than what we had before.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

One of the downsides for me is not having specific vendor references on the website as options. We host several events and it has been pretty difficult getting the vendor side setup. And it seems like it needs one master report that will show all information on it. For now, we have to usually pull 2 reports and combine them to get all of the informaton we need.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm not aware of any problems being solved for us right now.

**Official Response from Bob Rosenthal:**

> Thank you for your nice review, We are working hard on enhancing the user interface throughout the system. Watch for more changes throughout the year,

Regarding vendor references, I think I know what you are referring to but am not certain. You should email our technical support group. There are some ways to handle this you may not be aware of. They can help. Send your email to support@clubexpress.com.

Best regards, Bob

 ### 4. Review for ClubExpress

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kathy V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2024

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

It is perfect for a members-only organization, has all the features we need, and more options as we grow.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

I get a lot of feedback that people would like the option to click a button and have an event populate their calendar, but this has not happened yet.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of member renewals and ease of event registrations are the biggest benefits for us.

**Official Response from Bob Rosenthal:**

> Thank you for your review! Please email sales@clubexpress.com with more information on your comment about clicking a button to populate calendars. We do have an "Add to my Calendar" button and it should be on every event. If you can clarify what you mean, perhaps we can help.

 ### 5. We use it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2024

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

It stores all the info we need for our membership management.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Sometimes it is hard to update certain info. For example, I have to hunt araound to find out how to change the dues, and there seeems to be more that one place that needs changing to complete the action

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's been in place since before I was.

**Official Response from Bob Rosenthal:**

> Thank you for your kind review. About your comment about changing dues, we review all suggestions for improvements that come to the email address ideas@clubexpress.com. Please email ideas@clubexpress.com with your ideas for what would be easier. We use these to help prioritize system updates.

 ### 6. Using ClubExpress has fundamentally changed how we are able operate and grow.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Recreational Facilities and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2023

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

From the being in January of 2021 until the present we have been able to improve the accuracy of our membership information, vastly improve our communications with our members, support our events and functions and dramatically change our financial functions in a superior way.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

After three years we have not encountered a negative issue that we could not resolve or adapt to.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The secure maintenance of membership data, the workflow for adding new members, our annual membership renewal process and ongoing event scheduling and development and improvement of communications with our 2,347 active members.

**Official Response from Bob Rosenthal:**

> Thank you for reviewing ClubExpress on G2 Crowd. We’re pleased you like the system. ClubExpress was built mainly for automated billing to eliminate paperwork. Our tagline is “More Passion. Less Paperwork” to show we’re serious about automating your manual processes.

 ### 7. Custom isn’t friendly

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2024

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

It does club management well for general purposes.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

It can't adapt to custom billing processes and is hard to manage manual billing. Adds admin time for an automated bill.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It automates our monthly/yearly billing and allows communication by email.

**Official Response from Bob Rosenthal:**

> Thank you for reviewing ClubExpress on G2 Crowd. We’re pleased you like the system, and we’re sorry your experience with manual billing is not what you expected. ClubExpress was built mainly for automated billing to eliminate paperwork. Our tagline is “More Passion. Less Paperwork” to show we’re serious about automating your manual processes.

You do have the ability to print invoices. Adjustments such as applying credits or debits are simple and can be done in bulk. If you need help understanding the process, please email our Customer Success team at support@clubexpress.com.

 ### 8. Excellent platform for club/organization management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allen A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2023

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

The ClubExpress platform is an excellent system for managing our organization. The features are well-thought-out, well-designed, and intuitive for both administrators and users. CE's support organization is fantastic with quick responses and detailed written documentation addressing all features in great detail. The online training modules are logically developed and professionally presented.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Reporting out of the database is limited. Many good reports are provided, but ad hoc reporting requires a separate subscription. Also, the robust features within the platform address the vast majority of functions needed for organization management and web presentation, but some custom coding may be required for specific situations.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform provides a central database in the cloud for all user profile records and the organization's documents. It aids in automating financial functions.

 ### 9. Club Express - very responsive to issues and questions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laurel L. | Senior Specialist, Integration and Test Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

Club express is very responsive - If I have any website questions or issues, I simply email or call them and they are available. I typically receive a response within 24 hours if I email and a call back within a few hours if I call and have to leave a message but many times they are able to pick up the phone right away. Also love all the support documentation they have, webinars and historical videos you can watch in case you couldn't make a webinar.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

I think Club express supports so many different customers with various ideas on how the website should work that they can't keep up with all the requested updates or decide whos update to implement - you can't please everyone. Website updates do come out quite often so sometimes you're caught off-guard on knowing what changed and it's hard to keep my team in the know of how to do things when things change often.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Club Express does website tweeks quite often to resolve problems and make enhancements. This can seem overwhelming at times but they do provide webinars and You Tube video tutorials on the changes/new features as well as videos on how to perform basic functions. Their video library and documentation is quite extensive.

 ### 10. Club Express, simplify your Club Admin

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John W. | Retired, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

Club Express makes it easy. One-stop admin for our ski club. Easy to update and change web pages for a non-techie admin. Members can edit their profiles and track their event and volunteer participation. Very powerful event builder and calendar with top-notch communication functions. Support is excellent and helpful at all times.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

There is not much to dislike. A minor niggle is that some reporting could be improved, but our club has some unique needs, and we are trying to fit a round peg in a square hole. No one else has as close as Club Express.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ClubExpress makes it easy to keep our site and member information up-to-date and current. They take the pressure off our non-techie admins by being easy to use with excellent support for all members.

 ### 11. A good middle of the road product.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian G. | Senior Technical Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

Honestly, the support is reasonably good. I can drop an email to them and in a few hours, I have a response if not a fix in place. There's a bit of left brain/right brain way to adjust the thinking on how things work, but once you settle into the mindset it's fairly manageable.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Some rigidity to the environment makes it difficult to use. Where we've bumped up against the rigid part we've had to pay extra to get around it. Some of the web page functionality is kludgy at best. It may/may not work correctly and then someone on the back end has to come in and "fix" things. Not sure why that is, but the support is good, so that helps. The frustrating part is that ClubExpress seems somewhat disinterested in resolving some of the ongoing issues. It devolves down into it's easier to live with the problem than it is to constantly press for the fix.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

There aren't many turnkey website providers for clubs out there. Depending upon the needs this software seems to fit the bill. There may need to be some adjustments on the workflow within the org coming in, but for the most part everything seems to work reasonably well.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've moved onto a modern platform away from an older environment. Centralized management of our membership and provided some streamlining to the member retention.

 ### 12. You Can Handle this Website Design

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James H. | Retired scenic artist/educator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

Club Express makes sure you are getting your money's worth of training on multiple aspects of this software. We are into week 6 of helping a local group build their new website on Club Express. It is amazing amount of bells and whistles that are hidden behind the Control Panel, Club Express' access window into the workings of the software. It is like a huge relational database, where every piece of data you enter into Club Express windows gives you more power and control for your club, league, or interest group.
I have recently retired from my professional design career and time in higher education. I find myself thinking about what I could do with this software for professional and interest groups that I no longer serve. What great management software for a professional theatre company! for theatre education! for professional enterttainment industries. I would recommend you take a tour of Club Express.
I have recently recommended that a local theatre consider Club Express in developing their new website.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

I am one of those people who designed websites back in Ray Dream Designer was hot stuff. The HELP? button makes solving problems too easy! I want to suffer for my time, figuring how Club Express works. The HELP? Desk has great search features and when that doesn't work, there are HELP Phone Technicians at Club Express who are always willing to help.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. All documents and organizational data are in one place and accessible and safe from misuse.
2. Many website managers and coordinators allow safe access to data, and yet spreads the responsibility of maintaining the website among many.
3. Easy use of email and sending out notices of coming events is a breeze.
4. Getting people to volunteer is easy for the shy or timid types. and Committee leaders can communicate easily with the small group.
5. Information is shared with the public, yet you can save the good stuff for membership, giving a person a reason to join and know they are getting their money's worth.

 ### 13. ClubExpress Has Almost Everything We Need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff M. | Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

Membership renewal is greatly simplified compared to our old process. Photo albums are a built in function and are much easier to maintain than the way we used to do it. The built in structure of ClubExpress helps give our website a consistent look and feel throughout. Support is very responsive.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

We were unable to use the calendar functionality that is included in ClubExpress because it is not sophisticated enough for our needs. Sometimes you have to edit the html code directly to get the screen to look the way you want it. I can do it because I am a software developer, but I can't see how someone without a tech background could maintain a ClubExpress website of any complexity.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

The conversion to ClubExpress was mostly painless for us. We had a database of current members that ClubExpress was able to import. Some of the pages were initially difficult to set up, but tech support is always available to help.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have simplified the membership process because of ClubExpress. We are able to use it to register people for events. Previously, this was done manually.

 ### 14. Club Express tech support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George B. | Graphic Sign Maker, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

My interface with Tech Support @ CE has, from day one been spectacular. I strictly use email rather than calling in that I want to be able to try what they suggest to remedy my issue and then, if I still have questions I can reply back for further information &/or guidance

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Some of the modules are a bit complex. Setting up events can be a real PIA although I've been working with the CE platform form about 6 years now and have worked out most of the quirks/gremlins/bugs.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

Keep current, check the updates for stuff you can use. Before going live, do your upfront work ie, make your membership database 'bullet proof". That'll save you hours and hours once the info goes live.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All in all, Club Express continues to deliver exactly what they advertise. I, as webmaster for a club of 538 members, and a very full calendar of events can now devote my time to creative stuff and not so much of the nuts&bolts of website maintenance.

 ### 15. Easy System For Non-Webmasters

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David R. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

We began using Club Express after our webmaster had a stroke. We converted from our old website to the Club Express system with their assistance. Our board evaluated several other vendors and decided on Club Express as it meets are needs.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Some of the preformatted reports aren't user friendly. The PDF reports are good. But any of the Excel report do not contact the same information as the PDF reports do.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our club was without a webmaster and with the help of the Success Team, we were able to launch a new website. Our Event Coordinators after viewing the Club Express videos and by calling the 800 number are able to manage the web pages they are responsible for.

 ### 16. Excellent customer service and product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Annie K. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

Live person to assist with tech support. Excellent customer service. I appreciate their desire to help teach me something to resolve the problem. Competitors generally don't have a live person answer the phone. Keep up this valuable quality!

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Design widgets are slow to be updated and are outdated. Not sure if this is related to the platform technology/integration tools or something else.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding Quickbooks integration and the terms used for importing financials. I am more productive now that I understand where I needed to make updates in ClubExpress so that mapping with Quickbooks occurred correctly.

 ### 17. Excellent platform for our non-profit organization.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

This is a state of the art web site /database that is easy to use and easy to learn, with excellent, friendly helpdesk experts to assist. The price has transformed our organization from a struggling for survival to an active group able to use our limited funds for our mission instead of our computer expenses.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

So far, nothing negative stands out. We could use some new reports tailored to our specific needs, though I'm sure that could be achieved at a reasonable cost.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The eBlast feature allows us to easily communicate with our membership base and with other sub-sets without having to have our techie massage the messages for the actual authors.
A feature allows long lapsed members to drop off the database on their own, without having to contact us.

 ### 18. Affordable alternative for our Non-profit organization

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joanne J. | Electronic Health Record Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

The most useful functions for us as a non-profit volunteer organization are the calendar and events page, registration tracking, and payment tools. This allows us to create events, charge for them, and collect payments and donations online (credit or debit cards) as well as collect and track membership dues.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

The formatting and website layout tools can be clunky and require frequent saving or else it will lose the work you have done thus far. It can also be slow when adding several events or loading many files.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

This is a really good affordable website platform for non-profit or small organizations with members. It allows a lot of control over what types of users can do what - i.e. who can see events, who can RSVP, who can make payments, who can edit pages, etc. It also integrates several features well across the site including member management, schedules, links to external sites, links to internal pages, etc.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to track events, news for members, collect payments, schedule fees, and promote our organization. This has made us more productive and efficient when it comes to accepting/managing payments, streamlining information flow and managing scheduling logistics.

 ### 19. Great for small organizations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ava M. | Academic coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

Club Express is great for managing small organizations. Elections, registrations, emails, documents, and many other features are available. Everything in on place is convenient.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Club Express becomes unwieldy when you're membership becomes large. Ours is over 900 and we often have difficulties in sorting through the members or archiving members.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems of member managements and communication are the greatest benefits that Club Express solved. We no longer have to actively sort members into categories, the program does it for us.

 ### 20. Club Express is user friendly and has a many functionalities

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily E. | Operations Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

I like how you can create reports of memberships/payments, etc.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

There isn't a downside daily but we used it for a Conference to receive onsite payments and it wasn't very friendly. If we had someone who had already registered and they wanted to buy something extra we would have to process it as "guest".

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Processing payments of memberships
Processing payments of conference registrations, and products and even refunding people
I like that it has an active support centre that is always available.

 ### 21. Great Customer Service, Some Kinks in the Overall Functioning

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

ClubExpress offers exceptional customer service. We have never had to wait for a response for more than 48 hours to any question or concern we've raised. Their team is extremely helpful and accommodating and is willing to go the extra mile to problem solve and troubleshoot.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

There are many "kinks" that ClubExpress needs to work out with its website building widgets, communications (emailing) system, volunteering module, and otherwise. Unless you can write code, you'll be using a drag and drop website builder, which in most cases still allows for lots of aesthetic creativity. However, the CE web development options and customization are a bit behind in comparison to options like Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress. Their website builder is, overall, fine; but I'd say it takes quite a bit of effort to make the pages look pleasing to the eye and their options for customizing things like placement of images and text are extremely limited.

Their volunteering module is somewhat unusable if you have opportunities that are ongoing. It requires you to pick start and end dates that correlate to volunteering "slots". This function is horribly limiting.

Their communications (emailing) platform is not my favorite. It's drag and drop just like MailChimp or Constant Contact, but it's quite difficult to standardize formatting, especially in regards to font. When the emailing gets pushed out, we've experienced many situations where what we were seeing on the editing side looked infinitely better than what was officially disseminated via email. I'd say that their emailing platform is not easy to use (and the system is very difficult to figure out how to create mailing lists and import contacts) and that it's my least favorite function of the system overall. It's free with our subscription, which is the ONLY reason we have opted to use it so as not to incur additional charges from MailChimp on a monthly basis.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CE is helping us move from PayPal online payments for things like membership renewal, donations, and event registration, to a merchant processing system that is directly linked with our platform. This will negate the need to use PayPal as a third party application, saving lots of time on bookkeeping and data management.

 ### 22. Great for a simple social organization

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashish K. | Website developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

The Club Express (CE) platform is intuitive, modular, adaptable and continually developing and growing.ClubExpress supports EVERY user, as in every member of our group, not just administrators. This is a huge help to our small group.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Some content generation can be difficult to wrangle with the supplied tools after a platform upgrade. This never impacted our membership but it can be tedious for an all volunteer Virtual Office Staff like ours

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having the calendar widget on the home page has made registering for events much easier for members. This has been extremely well received by our members and we noticed a huge uptick in applications for membership at our gun club. There's a long list of things I'd love to improve, but for what the software does, it does it reasonably well.

 ### 23. Working with Club Express has made my life much easier as a membership coordinator.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. | IT Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

The Support team is always ready to assist.
Setting up accounts and organizing communication is great.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

I deal with an older population that sometimes has trouble logging in and they find the payment steps a bit daunting.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am working to develop a membership management solution that can stand up after I am gone.

 ### 24. We have tried other club sites and club express was by far the best.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

It is a one-stop shop for a club. You have membership, storefront, event registration and much more.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Modules are not set up to be used at the same time. No one can register for an event and join at the same time without some sort of workaround and manual process.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing at this time for us. I do not have anything they are working on for us at the moment.

 ### 25. Good functionality / Would love more aesthetic options

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

It does a lot! Almost all of our needs are met with this single system which is amazing!

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

There are some tools we would like to see integrated, which might just be very specific to our needs. I also wish the overall aesthetic was more modern - or more options to modernize the look of the default tools.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many upgrades were appreciated, most within the events function.

 ### 26. Great website and fantastic support team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2022

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

Ease of configuring modules; ease of obtaining support either by calling or sending an email

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

ClubExpress has the best support I have ever experienced. Their support engineers are pleasant and understand the ClubExpress system. There is seldom a long telephone hold. This may be because of their 990 page very complete and searchable User/Admin Manual, which is frequently updated.

The sales team understands our needs and recommends solutions based on how others use their system. The development team helped us create an attractive user-friendly website.

They are the only Association Management system that I know of that interfaces with both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online

The opportunity to open a free trial account. Call the ClubExpress sales team and they will explain how the trial account works.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

I cannot think of anything and we have been using ClubExpress for over a year.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

Strongly suggest you go for it.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a 20-year-old trade association with 1,500 members, that is recently being managed by unpaid volunteers. For the majority of our 20 years we were managed by a professional management company using a Microsoft Access database. Our data was moved to a propriety database, of which our association was the only user and one developer causing our management company to resign. Our Board recognized that this was a high-risk situation and researched the market for a year looking for a new association management system (ASM). We converted to ClubExpress in late 2018.

We now have much improved communication with our members and can both advocate and educate members better than ever.

ClubExpress has helped us develop a plan to grow our individual membership, which we believe, by more than 10x.

 ### 37. For small to large associations, ClubExpress is the best!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yvonne K. | Executive Director | Website Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

The customer service at CE is second to none. Sending an emailed question and getting a response back within an hour (and sometimes just minutes), is almost unheard of from AMS companies. It also helps that they are local for us (CST). I also like that they are always rolling out improvements.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

As with any AMS, it isn't perfect. I wish the membership card was not an extra expense (one time fee). I wish there was a search bar. Obviously, when you are looking for an improvement and are told that it isn't available, it's frustrating, but understandable as CE is a product that is tailored to meet the needs of multiple organizations, not just your own. We use CE's merchant account and I wish we were able to issue refund directly back to the credit card. Sometimes, finding the correct export/report for an event that will have all the info you are looking for is daunting. But, over all, there really isn't that much that I don't like within CE.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

For customer support and ease of integration, CE is fantastic. I like how they are always taking suggestions for improvements and implementing those suggestions when possible. No site is perfect, but CE is pretty close!

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple, clean, easy to navigate site. Super simple to update content, and I would like to start "playing" with the website set-up to see if I can improve on the design and make it more timely. Accounting reports are great and easy to use. Email templates are always improving. Renewal process is incredibly easy.

 ### 38. Professional Club Site and Club Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard I. | Past Treasurer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

ClubExpress was reasonably priced with lots of features to support my club including the public facing website, protected club member only pages, password protected directory, event calendar, and more.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Perhaps that the site design is a bit dated and could be modernized. Some of the public site features were a little challenging to work with.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

It takes a moment to fully understand where everything is in the back end, but once you figure it out, maintaining the site is easy and continues to get better as they update and upgrade the system.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our club could maintain a password protected club directory, event calendar, and other forward facing public website information without having to have a team of programmers or paying some of the exorbitant prices other similar services were charging. As a service club, our budget didn't fit with the other offerings. We did not ever fully implement all the features but with the new Quickbooks integration, may even be able to move billing for dues over to the system and ease the burden on the treasurer. Event registrations was another feature that we started exploring using to take registrations for club events like golf tournaments and be able to keep that process fully on the club's website instead of having to create a separate web presence for the event. This feature was very exciting. Another feature we were starting to explore and use was the event reminder notifications to keep members informed.

 ### 39. Club management software for a car club

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles Gary J. | RETIRED, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

This system makes membership management and accounting much better than conventional spreadsheets and documents. A very well done club management software set.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Very usable overall and easy to use but is limited when using an iPad for administrative functions, editing and some other functions. A laptop or Pc desktop always works better!

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

Very pleased with overall capability, support and cost of this system for use in social clubs, basic organizations and situations where financial management is needed!

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improved membership management by having the members managing most of their own information. Being able to run membership reports, directories and other membership information helps maintain a good membership baseline. Similar capabilities for financial management allow for good club funds management, dues collections and financial tracking. Mass emails for events and club information are simple and effective using the emailing capabilities!

 ### 40. Good, overall structure for a club

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John H. | Owner/Independant Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

Easy event calendering.
Email/newsletter capabilities.
Ad hoc and survey information gathering.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

No easy method to update contact information from CE to another DB like Quickbooks. There is an "interface" but little capability to match CE members to Quickbooks contacts.

Pages are still too cumbersome to adjust and too often require HTML skills to complete properly. Especially table-like pages of information.

Non-exposed DB for knowledeged queries (could easily be accomplished with stored procedures). i.e. member counts by year and accounting for expirations, etc. New ad hoc reporting is a good start but the "filtering" is still too restrictive.

Have to add members to groups/committees one at a time rather than selecting multiples at a time.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

Explore the sample club extensively to gauge actual usefulness to your organization.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needed a new, more secure website option and have more features such as email/newsletters.

 ### 41. We have been using it for our club for about 3 years now

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael R. | Systems Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

The instant technical support. In this day and age, it is increasingly difficult to find tech support that one can pickup the telephone and speak to a live person in the US and that that service is included at no additional cost.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

While the support is free, they don't always respond timely when a resolution has to be escalated to the programing team. Users are left hanging for long periods of time without updates to their support issues. I submit that if a ticketing solution with time limits and reminders to respond to the user were to be implemented, it would be of tremendous help here. Also QuickBooks online implementations is still buggy. They need to work on that.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Well, the complete management of our club. The ability to process credit card payments at a reasonable cost.

 ### 42. ClubExpress Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber M. | Regional Admissions Officer, Higher Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

ClubExpress is first and foremost a great value for what you pay for it. It's incredibly functional and has so many features that our organization needs. Additionally, the ClubExpress team is constantly updating the platform with new features.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Sometimes the ClubExpress servers are slow to load. For example, updating certain things on the website or creating a forum can take a couple of hours to be visible to the public rather than showing up instantly.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

Just use it! It's so great. Consider if your org needs a front facing website, integrated dues, and member communication channels.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization was previously using several different platforms for our needs. With ClubExpress everything is under one roof which is SUPER helpful.

 ### 43. Club Express keeps all aspects of our club running.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard B. | Webmaster, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

We are a teaching computer club. Our members use the Event Calendar to register for classes. They join and renew their memberships, pay using their credit card, and we can track their transactions and payments all through Club Express. One of the major drawbacks for us was the ability to maintain a wait list when a class was full. We are told that is now coming in the next round of updates. That's one of the things we like best about Club Express. They are always innovating and adding functions that we need or help us run our club. There's not much it doesn't do for us, and with the new additions, it virtually runs our entire organization.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

The downside of Club Express has been our ability to get certain reports in our preferred format. But that downside my have gone away recently with the introduction of custom reports module. We will be using that in the future.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

We used to use a custom program one of our members wrote, but when we left, we could no longer maintain the program. After reviewing a number of options and evaluating their ability to meet our needs, we settled on Club Express. They help you get started with useful tutorials, and their staff has always been able to answer my questions. You can't go wrong with Club Express.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of paid-up members and class registrations manually used to be a horrendous task. Now it's all automatic with Club Express.

 ### 44. Great experience working with CE

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff Z. | Director of Music, Department of Dance, Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

The customer service. They've been so helpful in all phases of the relationship, from first inquiry, understanding the product and purchase options, to setting up our website and migrating data from the old one, and now to launching the new website. BUT, BEST OF ALL is that they provide assistance to all users. That will reduce the burden of our tiny, all-volunteer administrative team (4 people) having to provide answers to up to 250 users.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

The administrator interface is not as slick as platforms like Squarespace or Wordpress, but the features and functionality more than make up for that.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

Check out CE's YouTube channel and use their instructional videos along with the manual to train yourself and other administrators.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're getting all of our organization's administrative functions under one platform, the same platform that is our image to the public and members. We're also replacing our group's main way of staying in touch (an email listserv) with the discussion forums. The built-in features (like storefront for example) will allow us to create new revenue, and other features will provide members with more value. There are all kinds of things we look forward to doing once the site is live and folks get excited and involved.

 ### 45. Excelent product.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin H. | Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

The range of features is impressive. ClubExpress provides a member management system that is on par with expensive customized systems at a scalable, affordable cost for organizations. From membership renewals, to communications, to website management, ClubExpress handles it all.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

I haven't found anything yet. I have used multiple membership management systems developed specifically for large national nonprofits. Those customized systems specific to a single organization can make sense for a large enough organization, but they don't for smaller ones. ClubExpress provides a platform that gives independent nonprofits the features that the large national organizations have at a very affordable price.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

Try ClubExpress out. It is a great system that will streamline your membership management tasks. It will save you time and provide better service then before, particularly if you were using various home grown solutions.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This brought together functions that were previously separate into one platform. We used to have a website managed by one company, a membership list in a spreadsheet on a cloud drive, payments made through Paypal, and mass emails sent through a different website. Now all of this and more is managed in Club Express.

 ### 46. A good resource that combines a variety of tools into one website platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa M. | TRIO McNair Assistant Director , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

The membership management system is super helpful! It made the task of soliciting membership renewals much easier. It is great to have a platform for our regional association as well as our chapters that can coordinate memberships, event registration, surveys, voting, document library, photo albums, donations, and communications to our membership. The support manual and videos are helpful in navigating the control panel and the ClubExpress staff are super helpful and quick to respond if any issues arise. They are also continuously working on creating new features for ClubExpress and improving on old ones.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

The website management tools are my least favorite. They are somewhat clunky and even though you don't need to know HTML to use, the tools are sometimes difficult for someone who is less tech oriented.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because ClubExpress combines all these different tools into one website platform, it is a great resource for the Association. It allows more people in the Association to not only have ownership over different tasks or tools but as the Board shifts to a new Board, it allows others to pick up where they left off and not have to recreate the wheel, or the conference registration for example. The features that ClubExpress provides also saves our organization money by not having to subscribe to several different platforms to take care of these tasks.

 ### 47. Mostly Fantastic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher M. | Data Center Engineer / Network Engineer, Computer Networking, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

Club Express is a single platform for addressing multiple requirements.
It is really priced well compared to other options we reviewed.
Web site management is great for both public pages and member-only pages.
Membership management is top-notch.
Communication tools are awesome.
The Calendar and event Planning tools are very nice too.
Excellent support and a vast array of video training are available.
Human support. although not instant) is very good.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Menus for administration are a bit less intuitive than they could be.
Video is great for overall training but...
...A searchable knowledge base of HOW TO articles would make finding individual solutions easier.
Club Express support used to answer immediately, now I need to leave a message and wait for a return call.
While calendars are very nice in general, you cannot subscribe to calendars to show them on your personal google calendar or other calendars.
We need a webcam solution so still images can be updated every few minutes rather than streaming video.
- We have bandwidth limitations where our cameras are used and images won't update due to a caching issue with modern browsers. The user needs to manually clear their browser cache to see updated images.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

ClubExpress is an inexpensive solution for hosting your website and providing club membership management and services. When we compared it to several other solutions, including those claiming to be aviation-specific, we could find no other solution as feature-rich and/or price-competitive. That said, it doesn't matter what kind of Club you have. ClubExpress helps spread management of your web site and member services to multiple people. In our club's past, only one person knew how our website and financials worked and we were too dependant on that one person. And it was a herculean responsibility and at the same time risky for the club. Now, the workload is better distributed. And, if someone leaves the club, virtually anyone else can step up and handle various tasks. They can also call ClubExpress for support if they need to so. We are a member-volunteer club. So, spreading the workload among several people instead of placing it on the shoulders of one person or a just few individuals is highly preferable. The workload is decreased and continuity, when members come and go, is assured. The best part is, everyone, even our board, spends more of their time just enjoying club activities.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web site management - All in one GUI solution. (Even I can use it and so can anyone in our club )
Membership and Dues management - (This is top quality for dues collection & record keeping.)
Communication control (email and forums are easy to set up, manage and keep under control)
Document and Image management (This is way better than the sloppy google drive we used to us)
Calendars (Way easy for every member and/or committee to use)
Event Planning (This can initially seem a bit complex but works well once you figure it out).
Photo Albums (Members manage their own Albums and share pictures publicly or with members only)
Donations management for our youth scholarships. (This has simplified donations and record-keeping)

 ### 48. Game of Go enthusiasts manage events, memberships and more

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gurujeet K. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

Tons of functionality for our organization, everything clearly documented, and great unlimited tech support. We have integrated our event and class registrations to accept credit card payments, installed a membership system with multiple member types, added a store for t-shirts and other items, integrated donations, and built a customized website with no coding other than tweaking a little HTML. The pricing model was very appealing, charging only for actual members while allowing a larger non-member email list.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

There isn't much to dislike. There is no direct API access to the database which would be useful but hasn't been a new handicap. The latest release added an optional custom reporting module that compensates for an API to a large degree.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

If you have special requirements, discuss them with ClubExpress. They involved knowledgeable people in the sales process who can explain the product very well.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have now implemented a full class schedule and a membership system both of which we did on an ad-hoc basis before. We customize emails to specific distribution lists and track and correct bad emails. GDPR privacy is built in so users can unsubscribe or even ask to be forgotten.

 ### 49. A Great Solution for Our Social Club

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anita V. | President Emeritus, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

1. The software is straightforward to use, even for users without technical skills.
2. Pre-designed websites are professional-looking and attractive. You can get your web site up and running quickly.
3. ClubExpress customer service is outstanding. They are very responsive and helpful.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

There are a few screens our group would like to customize, but we recognize that there are tradeoffs one. Just make when using a product that is designed to be used by many groups. We’ve always been able to find a workaround.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

Talk to other organizations who use Club Express commit. ClubExpress will almost certainly have an organization similar to yours who uses their product. Being able to talk to someone with needs similar to yours will go a long way toward making you and your decision mKers comfortable with making the leap to ClubExpress.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Updated and easy to maintain web site. Our online presence is professional and we can maintain the site ourselves, without having to pay someone else to do it.
2. An event planning system which included an RSVP function that can be used by people with few technical skills. Our members (average age is 60-65) have been able to learn how to register for events. The result is improved budgeting and planning since we know attendance numbers ahead of time.
3. Improved reports to help us keep track of membership, event attendance, etc. ClubExpress reports exceed our expectations. We spend much less time gathering information now that everything is in one database.
4. We wanted our club members to be able to pay for memberships and event fees without having to leave the web site or use a third party provider. The ClubExpress solution is seamless.

 ### 50. A great and robust website platform with all the back-end administration needed for a club.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan L. | Senior Chemist, Chemicals, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about ClubExpress?**

Having never done any html or website building, but some previous basic coding experience (15 years ago), the website building end is very simple and easy to use. Not only is it easy to make pages, but it's easy to make they consistent, professional looking, and interactive: very easy to add pictures, video, documents, etc. The front end is easy to use and look good.
Where the system really shines is the back-end. You have ways of recording and signing up for work/volunteering, register for free events for automated email reminders, register and collect payments for NRA training courses, easily send out mass emails all the way to individual members and create email lists, online new member registration, all the automated emails, and online and automated renewals. As the Club secretary, this does a lot of the work for me and organizes the work I have to do.

**What do you dislike about ClubExpress?**

Only "dislike" was our initial set-up; we got the high plan, but still had to do a lot of work initially. However, given the system, it's better for Clubs to pay for the higher end service plan--but not the most expensive plan. Either way you have to work on the system and use it to "figure it out," but ClubExpress makes it very simple and intuitive to use.

**Recommendations to others considering ClubExpress:**

It's very easy to use and has a huge back-end to handle a lot of the administrative side of any Club organization. Also, if you like something you see on our webpage (sheboyganrifleandpistol.org), contact me, the Club secretary, and I can help you out and let you know how I using ClubExpress or simple html code to do it.

**What problems is ClubExpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have not gone through our renewals yet; however, I have been in contact with out Clubs that have and it will save us a ton of time come renewals. Our renewals have multiple charges, fees, and donations and we set it up already and are ready for the renewals. Instead of creating a gigantic excel file to document every dollar and indicate the payment was for, ClubExpress's system will segregate the money so it's easy to back track and know where the renewal money should be going: renewal, raffle, or fees. Furthermore, we had to update the member's contact information; now members update their own contact information.
We used the online registration for our Club NRA instructor and collected payments and student information. This automates a lot of the administration work and once again organizes the money for the treasurer to have information for his/her records.
Our revitalized website has been caused a spike in new membership applications. In 2018 we had 17 new signups and went through 26 people on the waiting list. If there to continue, eventually our membership rolls would be less than our max membership of 325 members. Then our Club would have to either cut costs or increase dues; either would make membership less desirable. So far this year, our new website went live early in the year, we have 22 signups.
Finally, a lot of people and especially the members have commented on the new website.
