I’m trying to get a clearer picture of who the main DMP platforms in adtech still are, especially for audience building, targeting, and activation.
A few names I keep seeing are:
Lotame: seems to stay in the mix as a major audience data and enrichment player.
Adobe Audience Manager: still comes up a lot in audience and data platform conversations.
The Trade Desk: not a classic DMP in the old sense, but it keeps showing up as a big adtech platform for audience-based targeting.
Permutive: seems to come up a lot in newer adtech conversations, especially around privacy-first audience building and publisher data.
Nielsen Marketing Cloud: still feels relevant if the focus is on audience targeting, segmentation, and ad planning data.
For people working in adtech, which of these still feels the most useful for audience targeting today, and which ones feel like they’ve lost momentum?
I’m trying to find a DMP that plays really nicely with Google Analytics and BigQuery, because I’d rather not deal with a clunky pipeline or a bunch of connector work just to keep customer data flowing.
A few I’ve been looking at:
Hightouch: seems really strong if BigQuery is already the source of truth and you want to activate that data cleanly into other tools.
RudderStack: looks like a good fit if you want event pipelines that can send data straight into BigQuery without too much friction.
Tealium: seems worth considering if you want a more established customer data platform with a native BigQuery connector.
mParticle: looks useful if audience building matters too and you want BigQuery in the mix.
Which of these has given you the cleanest GA + BigQuery data pipeline with the least maintenance once it was live?
I’m trying to find a cost-effective DMP for a small startup that doesn’t need anything overly complex. I care less about enterprise bells and whistles and more about easy onboarding, a clean interface, and something the team can actually start using fast.
A few I’ve been looking at:
Twilio Segment: seems like a common starting point if the goal is simple customer data collection and lots of integrations.
Klaviyo: seems worth considering if the startup is ecommerce-focused and wants customer data tied closely to marketing right away.
Hightouch: looks interesting if the priority is activating customer data without taking on a huge implementation project.
mParticle: seems solid, though I’m not sure it’s the easiest fit for a very small team just getting started.
For a small startup, which of these was the easiest to get live quickly without spending a ton or needing a bunch of technical setup?
