Very robust product offering many types of data connections and all the tools you could ask for in generating BI reporting. Not only do we use their reporting engine, we also use the data warehouse to integrate with other applications we use. The support and consultants we've worked with at Zap have been fantastic. They don't just fix issues, they take the time to teach you along the way, which is very helpful in building out our own internal support of the product. The learning curve on this product is very steep compared to other solutions that provide similar BI reporting. So, I would not necessarily promote 'Ease of Use', but it's very powerful once you've learned it. For occasional users, this can be difficult as it requires frequent use of the product to feel comfortable working in it. This requires most requests to be fulfilled by our technical team as opposed to turning it over to functional leads in our company for report development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

For me, it is slick, fast, looks good on the eye. Some BI tools can appear complicated and dauting to use even if they are not. ZAP has an excellent user interface both when navigating as a viewer or designing reports or dashboards. I am the finance lead and have created many reports and dashboards with no previous education around databases, data infrastructure. The ZAP team implementation ensured we were ready to create and delve further into our finance data (might I add to a transactional level), I have never had to be concerned with the initial set up which was great and more recently an AI chat bot has been added which I find very useful when needing advice. It would be hard to make a negative comment as the software and the team at ZAP always deliver.

Having been a ZAP user for over 6 years, I can say that they listen to feedback and look to implement improvements. Adding ZAP Live with Excel functionality a prime example of this.

One area for improvement would be to allow the data on the web page to be copy pasted into a spreadsheet allowing for those convenient moments where you just need a quick throw-away review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One downside I have encountered is connecting to an Excel data source. We have not been able to connect to a live Excel sheet that is saved on SharePoint. Additionally, some calculations are more difficult to perform, though they are still possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ZAP Data Hub has been a great fit for us, allowing our reporting & analytics to keep pace as the business grew rapidly from a small to a medium sized enterprise. Through this transition, we have used ZAP to move beyond legacy Excel sheets and connect our disparate systems into one platform.

The best thing about the platform has been the ease of use. We did not need a team of data engineers to implement and maintain it. Instead, a small team of data analysts from across the business were able to quickly learn how to use the data modelling functionality. This meant we were able to ingest data, transform it and build a custom semantic model available for enterprise-wide reporting in about 12 weeks. Since then, we have been able to further build it out and meet more advanced reporting needs. We now have about 50-60 weekly users using a wide range of reports across Sales, Production and Finance.

The plug and play nature of ZAP Data Hub means that the services it can connect to is inevitably more limited than those offered by a cloud data integration platform such as Fivetran or Azure. But this is to be expected.

We have seen issues with very large Excel files being ingested into the platform. However, we have been able to work-around this quite easily by splitting files into smaller components.

It would be nice if ZAP could implement a 'try... except' error handling mechanism in order to make the model processing more robust. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ZAP Data Hub allows for easy data integration easy by automating the ETL process of data from various sources into a central hub. This reduces manual effort and ensures data consistency.

The platform allows me to build pipelines from Navision tables that will directly feed into Power BI reports via analysis services. It also offers version control and full auditability, making it easy to track changes.

I’ve had a great experience with ZAP and haven’t encountered anything I’d consider a drawback. There roadmap seems to allways allign with Smiffys II as we look to make the next steps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

From a Syspro perspective, it is pre-configured which makes implementation a breeze. Our finance and commercial teams use the reports on a daily basis to manage their respective areas. Zap does everything, from the heavy lifting of big data, to intuitive ETL/ELT processes, to intuitive and flexible reporting capabilities. It's easy to implement. The consultant assigned to us was very supportive, responsive, and knowledgeable throughout the process.

Zap Data Hub makes it easy to create custom reports in Sage 100, enabling us to analyze key sales data much faster and more efficiently. Their consultants make it east to integrate with Sage.
