What do you like best about Voxco Survey Platform?

It assists me and my colleagues in establishing surveys in both phone and online methodologies. It can do many things, which we are still learning, but possess the potential for greatness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Voxco Survey Platform?

The need for programming, logic, and knowledge of JSON, HTML, Javascript and CSS. The fact that they do not offer pieces of training that cover those topics is a little discerning. The fact that support tells us we will have to pay to use these features because we do not have anyone that excels in those areas is disheartening. When we used Alchemer, if the script was simple enough, they would write the basic code for us and then train us on how to use it--I found it very useful, kind and enlightening. What do you like best about Voxco Survey Platform?

The Voxco system is a very intuitive user-friendly system for setting up and implementing surveys. The process to set up a study is very quick using menus to create, apply the specific characteristics of the survey, identify quota and callback rules, and to tailor the sample. When surveys are in the field it is easy to view the progress of the study through a table of the active project which provides stats on completion, time spent and time remaining. Sample and call management is easy using their menu-driven system can be tailored to any specificity using any survey or sample variable. I've been programming CATI software for years, have used many different software packages and this is simply one of the best Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Voxco Survey Platform?

The main issue we have with Voxco is the integration of the CATI side with the Online survey side when conducting multi-mode surveys. In some instances, if a survey is completed online it is not flagged as complete in the sample and we have on occasion then called people from the CATI side that had actually already completed the survey online. What do you dislike about Voxco Survey Platform?

The documentation can be misleading, I wish they had an example of each with maybe an incorrect example that they've noticed is often used.

The helpdesk is not quick with answers.

I like the copy list function, but more useful is a list in list function. With many lists there are small differences like one list may be just different by one or 2 items. With the copy list, it requires all lists to be the EXACTLY same. You can't even remove the none from the list without changing all subsequent lists. Any kind of hiding you do to one list affects all lists and there's no way to just make that effect one question without essentially removing the list same as from the options.

Also, when you expand the question view, it would be helpful if it showed the codes and not just the answers. you have to use the structure view. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Web survey platforms generally have their quirks and Voxco is no exception. You'll find processes you prefer in other platforms and the occasional fluke bug, but overall the quirks tend to be less frequent and annoying compared to others. What do you like best about Voxco Survey Platform?

There's not a single redeeming feature about the Voxco platform, not one, which is an accomplishment in its own right I guess..

I started my days, as I'm sure many did, on SurveyCraft before moving to Nebu, a little ConfirmIT, Askia, Qualtrics, SurveyGizmo (Alchemer now I believe), Web Survey Creator and even the open source package LimeSurvey. Yes, the free LimeSurvey is better than paying for Voxco. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Voxco Survey Platform?

The interface is bad, it takes longer to script than necessary costing your business money in more hours of scripting (and, over the course of a week, I mean hours). It also doesn't enable scripting review with any ease by conditions being hidden and needing to go through several menus to see (all that load slowly) so scripting review takes longer, costing you money. The interface also doesn't guide the user and will gleefully allow you to enter code that does not work, meaning more time testing, and, even then, will work in testing but not for, say, thirty percent of fieldwork, again costing you money in recontacts or replacements.

So you'll be in contact with support a lot. Which is also a shame as they take a very long time to respond and can be quite condescending. A particularly recent example is where I'd scripted some conditions to set a hidden variable, something I've done numerous times in my career as a spec. writer and I did it in the same format as I've done in every package listed above. I tested it several times as I simply cannot trust the platform to do what it's instructed to do and it worked fine on every single test. Come fieldwork though I'm missing data for about twenty percent of my respondents, on querying this with support, flagged as urgent, after two days I was told "your code would never work", which, hang on mate, it does for the majority of the respondents and all the time I (seemingly) wasted testing, but the platform just decides to behave differently in some circumstances, which is maddening, we're talking programming here, same input in should equal same output out, but for some reason with Voxco, it does not.

Good platforms will not let you set-up something in the interface that doesn't work, I appreciate if I'm doing complex DOM manipulations in JavaScript things may go awry, mea culpa, but, selecting items from a drop down list in the UI, which work when tested, should never then function differently, especially when you're following the documentation from their support site (which is incomplete in many places, outdated in a few and plain wrong in others - you will also be insulted by support when you query why the documentation is wrong and then receive absolutely no response at all when you point out the omissions and how their own platform actually works).

That is if you get a reply from support at all, I have several tickets with no reply, I send follow up queries that seem to disappear in to the same black hole.

And occasionally the platform will straight up lose data. It may be a single random data point on a user, it may be half their survey (it could even be entire surveys, on an open link, we'd have no way of identifying what was lost). Support have never been able to explain it, the responses with get back are literary equivalent of a shrug - never in my career have I lost data until I worked with Voxco.

I do hate these ranty 1 star reviews, as the person writing it always comes off a little unhinged, so when reading reviews myself I usually skip them, but, I can't help but try to explain the living nightmare Voxco has made my life and the frustrations that have driven me to sound like one of the loons I usually ignore, so, dear reader, I thank you if you've made it this far and implore you to use something else entirely. If you're a manager looking to purchase a platform for their team, I would say you're failing your duty of care for your employee's mental well-being by inflicting this product upon them. What do you like best about Voxco Survey Platform?

I have been using Voxco's platform for past couple of years and some of the best features include the need to script only once with easy deployment across channels, advance skip logic, more than 100 question types, Multi lingual survey and constant addition of new features like text Analytics, word import and sentiment analysis. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Voxco support can be very spotty at times. We can go hours/days without a reply. The anxiousness of not hearing anything but an auto-reply can be very nerve-racking. As a person who doesn’t code, I loved the user-friendly interface of Voxco.

The process to create the survey was very easy. With so many question types - smiley face, star rating - I was able to create fun surveys. The logic flow also helped to create complex surveys.

The multiple templates also helped me set up my surveys quickly.
