Square has transformed the way that we do onsite sales. We started with one square device to take on tuition payments at our front office. We now have 5 devices and use them for our Student Store, Concession Stand, Fees, Game Day Ticket Sales, etc. We will likely move to online purchasing at some point. I love how easy it has been to use for our customers. We have a mechanic shop where others can bring their equipment to be worked on and they can come to the front and now have the option to also pay by debit and credit card.

It was pretty easy to implement and use in our current system.

Customer support has been good for the small questions we've had and to be honest we can find most of our issues online and been able to fix it.

We use it once in awhile. For awhile we were using it a lot more but now it's not as frequent.

I love that the program sends us emails with the report of the transactions we have and it breaks down the fees.

What do you like best about Square Point of Sale?

This is an easy to use and easy to set up program for small transactional businesses. It provides a multitude of reports for accounting and taxes as well as integrates generally well with QuickBooks Online. Thankfully I have only needed to reach out to Customer Support a couple of times and they were easy to work with. What do you dislike about Square Point of Sale?

One of the issues with Square POS is that when you have multiple items and you update them, it defaults the Sales Tax to NonTax and the descriptions do not always properly integrate back to QBO and you must relink them as the system thinks they are new items. Another thing to note is that finding specific reports for Sales Tax and sales in general are not as detailed as sometimes necessary depending on the company type. What do you like best about Square Point of Sale?

I've been using Square for 6-7 years now for my business and it has been a great game changer. I use my square point of sale app and credit card adapter for all debit and credit card usage. When customers say to me, "I don't have cash, do you accept card?" I gladly say yes, and pull out either my phone, open up the app or use the credit card adapter.

The mobile app is very easy to download and accept payments. You just open the app, type in the amount, click review sale, and click charge. You can also send a receipt via to the customers email, or text message to their phone.

If you wan to down load the app, go to the app store on Apple or Google Play store for Android. It's easy to implement Square in your payment methods as they have stickers sent to new customers to place on all of your stationary letting customers know you take cards.

I use Square three times a month when processing online and in person payments at book or craft events.

Square is very easy to integrate with Google as you can advertise your website that you can build through Square as a store or website.

Customer support is very helpful when it comes to solving problems with the back end of Square. I had an issue with the payment section of my website and the customer support person was so helpful and went above and beyond to help me resolve my issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Square Point of Sale?

The website url has a free option that uses the square site in your domain name. You will have to pay a separate fee or membership to buy a domain to use either .com or .org. I think this should be included in the free option as there are several other membership options to pay for Square plus or pro that does not include the domain but will include sending emails to newsletter subscribers. What do you like best about Square Point of Sale?

Square for Retail makes running a shop way easier. It keeps track of inventory, sales, and customers all in one place—like a helpful robot that never takes a day off. The POS system looks great and is super easy to use, even for people who aren’t tech-savvy. What do you dislike about Square Point of Sale?

While Square for Retail is a great tool overall, some of the extra features come with extra costs, and those can add up quicker than you'd expect. It would be nice if more features were included in the base price—especially for small businesses trying to stay on budget. Also, customer support can be a bit slow at times, which isn’t ideal when you need help fast. That said, it's still a solid system with a lot to love—it just needs a bit more love for small shops.
