It's hard to train new admin on how to navigate their direct reports and finding information seems to take more work than necessary. Employees are able to access information important to them with the click of a button - paystubs, tax forms, time off balances and requests. Employees can update their personal information (address, phone numbers, direct deposits) taking a lot of work out of the administrators hands. The platform is easy to use and intuitive. **What do you dislike about Paylocity?** Some updates that Paylocity rolls out aren't ideal and I wish they would think through the impact on the end user before making those changes. Also, the time off tracking can be a bit confusing but we have been told that there is an update coming in the next few months which will improve that experience. Lastly, it would be incredibly helpful to employees if they were able to make benefit elections from the app or update their personal information from the app. **What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Paylocity helps us track time, process payroll, ensure new hires complete paperwork. It is nice to have most things in one area. It's nice and convenient to have everything in one place. I also think the new home page is a good upgrade. **What do you dislike about Paylocity?** There are several processes that do not work as well as they should. For example, you can't see a fillable form as it is in process and can only see once it is fully completed. The I9 process has been a nightmare since the last upgrade. Open enrollment works well from an employee perspective, but the feeds and follow-up after enrollment from the administrative side have been a nightmare. The entire Performance process is tricky. It is customizable, but there are things that just don't work like they should - comments get cut off, things don't save, entire pages can be skipped, even though they are marked as required. We have feeds for benefits and some APIs, but we have found that outside of benefits, it doesn't interface as well as we had hoped. **What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Paylocity is a full cycle HRIS, making it convenient to have recruiting, benefits, performance, and exits all in one place, though sometimes modules don't integrate smoothly. ### 8. Payroll is also incredibly simple since it pulls the timekeeping data directly. Everything we use it for has become easier, and I've heard that integrations, like with Justifacts, make hiring a lot easier. The initial setup was really easy, thanks to a fantastic onboarding process. **What do you dislike about Paylocity?** There are some random glitches that don't get resolved quickly, such as not being able to download performance reviews. It is super helpful for payroll administration and organizing employee records and onboarding. I find it pretty intuitive to use with a straightforward help center. Paylocity also plays well with third-party vendors, which is great because some HRIS tools don't integrate smoothly with other vendors. Additionally, it's easy to work with Bswift, which enhances the overall experience. I think it's really great, especially for smaller companies. **What do you dislike about Paylocity?** The workflows are a huge pain point for me. Some workflow features aren't accessible unless managers have access to pay. We currently don't have all managers in the company with access to pay, so that causes a lot of manual processes. I wish there were more options for approvers, maybe the option to select an approver when a workflow is initiated, more options to complete the workflow even if a manager doesn't have access to pay, and being able to attach a document to an employee action form is my #1 request. **What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Paylocity helps with payroll administration, organizes employee records, and assists in onboarding efficiently. ### 11. I.e. workflows continuously giving us issues with employees not being able to sign. We figured out on our own that workflows must be launched in the individual companies and not the company set. However, that was almost a month of no resolution from the service team at Paylocity. Although in hindsight this makes sense as these employees did not have user accounts on the company set level, it is frustrating because the Service team at Paylocity never answered with a solution and we had to find it on our own. **What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?** When working, Paylocity is solving the issue of needing multiple different programs to coordinate responsibilities involving employees. ### 12. Any issues I've experienced or questions I've submitted have been managed quickly and successfully. I've utilized many big name HRIS systems in the past and each has failed me due to customer service/operations turnover. Paylocity has been able to support my organization for many years with no dip in support or customer service quality. **What do you dislike about Paylocity?** The one issue I've experienced with Paylocity is the cost of benefit account administration. Everything is pretty simple, and there's not too much going on in the system. It's straightforward and easy for day-to-day use. Also, the recruitment platform setup was generally pretty easy. I just went through each setting and set everything up the way we like, and it's really easy to still develop it over time. The integrations with recruiting platforms and sourcing tools like Indeed and LinkedIn work really well, pushing our jobs out to those boards without manual effort. **What do you dislike about Paylocity?** I think there's a lot of customizable features that would be helpful for us as a company. Like, certain offer letter features would be nice to edit in terms of formatting and candidate experience. The security access can be a little clunky on certain things. For example, the I-9 verification form, the employer portion, where we wanted only the direct supervisor to access the form, but with the security permissions, we're not able to do that. So, as of now, all supervisors have access, which isn't ideal. Customer service and problem resolution aren't the greatest either. I wish there was someone more willing to understand our issues and find solutions rather than saying, 'this is how it works, and you have to deal with it.' **What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Paylocity for tracking applicants, reviewing applications, and sending offer letters, handling everything from start to finish when hiring a new position, including administering onboarding paperwork. ### 17. You can probably watch a couple of videos and then get it because it's very intuitive. The steps are clear by clicking the buttons, and it guides you to where you need to go. Paylocity helps organize the HR side of the company and allows my managers to get better control and processes for their departments. It's well-designed for a small company, and it's great for managing PTO, making it clear for employees without misunderstandings. I also appreciate how it handles the rewards program, offering e-gift cards, which is more friendly for the team. The insights on retention programs and app usage are also valuable. **What do you dislike about Paylocity?** I feel maybe when you guys help us with the employee handbook, it takes three to four weeks. I understand there's a lot of work in there, but I also believe you have already something pre-done. Changes on the handbook could be done more friendlier, more faster. Also, a company called Mineral from UnitedHealth updates handbooks by state, and it would be amazing if Paylocity could do that too. When setting up, it was initially amazing with the sales person guiding us, but I feel like after purchasing, it switched to just providing videos. Sometimes I needed help on setting up simple things like my organization chart, and I was just sent videos that didn't address my issues. It would've been nice to get one-on-one help, even if just for fifteen minutes. **What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Paylocity helps organize the HR side of the company, making PTO clear for all employees, eliminating misunderstandings. A lot of things are user friendly, particularly the mobile app. **What do you dislike about Paylocity?** It feels very disjointed and siloed. If you have various modules, you should be able to access them all from the employee profile. Example: I shouldn't have to leave HR & Payroll to view the employee's timecard in Time & Labor. It should link from the employee profile in HR & Payroll to their timecard to make reviews more seamless. Customer support is also not proactive when issues arise. It always takes us reaching out to our account manager to learn that issues we are experiencing are known and being experienced across all Paylocity users. From an HR and recruiting standpoint, everything lives in one place, which makes it easy to manage candidates, onboarding, payroll, and employee data without jumping between systems. It streamlines workflows and saves a lot of time. On the employee side, it's really convenient. I can easily request time off, update direct deposit or tax information right at my fingertips, and it cuts down on back and forth with HR. The initial setup was extremely easy, with 'how-to's' and tutorials that were very easy to read, understand, and follow. I really like the service, ease of use, and inclusiveness that Paylocity provides both as an employee and an administrator. **What do you dislike about Paylocity?** I haven't run into any real issues other than not being able to sponsor job postings through Paylocity for different job boards like Indeed. Sponsoring jobs is extremely important in some cases when positions need to be filled quickly. More control over spend and duration would be helpful to have finer control over sponsorship budgets such as setting daily caps, pausing or resuming boosts easily or adjusting spend mid-campaign without having to restart a posting. Always helpful when needed **What do you dislike about Paylocity?** I9's can't be redone just by section 2, the applicant must do everything over again if there is an error, and the auto fill in on the documents has lots of errors. Too many clicks just for simple EAFs, and when transferring someone store location needs changed in 2 different places. In community you can not remove someone from a smart group that was manually added, you basically have to delete the group and start over. Nothing on the face of the app to show if you missed a communication! You can not zoom in on pictures and or reports when using the app. When using the app you can not access the customized journals (this happened after the last update). The onboarding process is much easier and reduces environmental costs by sending I-9s and new hire paperwork information through their onboarding piece.
