What problems is OneSignal solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to rely on our regular email inbox and group chat threads to send out updates to all our electronics reseller clients, and that system was messy in ways I didn’t fully grasp until we hit a bad situation with Pacific Component Supply. Their team notified us that their wireless controller chip run was delayed, and I passed the word along to our sales team over Slack. But there was no centralized record of which customers were waiting on those chips. Our sales lead sent a broad update to nearly everyone on our contact list, and several resellers who had pre-ordered the chips got mixed signals. Some went ahead and promised inventory to their own retail buyers, and we spent days putting out fires. That’s when I started looking for a dedicated notification tool to tie alerts directly to our customer and product data.
OneSignal solves this by putting all our subscriber preferences and product interest tags in one place, so alerts don’t just go out blindly. What changed the game for me is that I can tie notification triggers to specific order and product attributes. I can mark customers as only wanting shipment confirmations, or flag them to skip alerts for certain SKUs entirely. When we get lead time shifts from vendors like Pacific Component Supply or Zenith Electronics Parts, I update those tags first, and the automation respects those boundaries before any SMS or push message gets sent. I don’t have to manually sort long contact lists every time supply details shift.
I also really value the delivery tracking and engagement logs. A few months back, a reseller reached out saying they never got their shipment alert for a batch of USB adapters. I pulled up their profile in OneSignal immediately, and I could see the message was delivered but never opened. We switched their preferred alert channel from push to SMS right then, and they got the next update without issue. Before this tool, I would have had no way to confirm whether the notice ever reached them, and I’d have just resent the same note without fixing the root problem.
Bringing in new reseller contacts via CSV upload also cuts down repetitive work. I can import their opted-in alert preferences and the product lines they care about in one go. All the activity stays linked to their profile, so if another team member steps in to handle that account, they can review the full alert history instantly.
We’re a small electronics wholesale business, and we don’t have a dev team to maintain custom notification workflows. OneSignal makes it easy to keep our resellers updated on inventory and shipping changes without building something from scratch. It still needs me to double-check tags before sending critical supply updates, but it removes the guesswork from our outreach. It helps us communicate reliably, and stops us from sending conflicting updates that erode trust with our B2B buyers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
