"A Great Tool For Authors"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

Microsoft Word is tried and true, and packs all the features you could ever want in a word processor. As an author, I definitely prefer it to other similar products on the market. It's easy to use, an industry standard, and works well offline.

This review is incentivized by G2's offer of an Amazon gift card in exchange for the review of any software, but this incentive hasn't impacted my opinion of Word in the slightest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

The only real flaw I've noticed with Word is how cumbersome the insertion of images or tables can be. It's very easy for them to throw off the formatting of an entire document. Fortunately, as an author of fiction and poetry, I don't need to use those often, so it's usually not an issue for me. But if you're in another line of work, I can see how it might cause consistent problems.

"Great Features and Compatibility, But Pricey for Light Users"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

This is a fantastic program that offers nearly everything you could want. I also appreciate that the document formats it uses have become standard, making it easy to open them in any other text editor I’ve tried. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

To be honest, the price is the most important factor for me. I don’t actually need all the features that this program provides—I use a text editor daily, but only use spreadsheets from time to time. Since I have several laptops, including a very small and inexpensive one for travel, I was looking for a lightweight program for it, ideally something free. Because of this, I ended up having to give up MS Word. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An Indispensable Tool for Daily Productivity"
5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

I've been a daily user of Microsoft Word for years, and it continues to be an essential part of my workflow. Its user-friendly interface and robust features make it my go-to for everything from drafting simple documents to creating complex reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

My biggest frustration with Word is the financial commitment required to use the full desktop version. While there are free, web-based versions available, the most powerful and feature-rich experience comes with a paid Microsoft 365 subscription. The fact that you have to pay a recurring annual fee for a suite of software that was once available as a one-time purchase can be a significant turn-off, especially for individual users who only need a few of the applications. It feels like you're being held hostage by a subscription model to access the full functionality of what has become the industry standard for document creation. "The Gold Standard for Document Creation and Editing"
4/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

Microsoft Word is one of the most versatile and user-friendly word processing tools available. I like how it combines simplicity for basic writing with powerful features for advanced formatting, collaboration, and professional document creation. The wide selection of templates, styles, and formatting options makes it easy to produce polished reports, resumes, or letters. Integration with OneDrive and Microsoft 365 allows seamless cloud saving and real-time collaboration with colleagues. It’s reliable, widely compatible, and a tool I can always count on for both personal and professional needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

While highly capable, Microsoft Word can sometimes feel overwhelming for new users because of the large number of features hidden in different menus. The software can also be resource-intensive, especially when working with very large documents that include images or tables. Occasional formatting issues arise when sharing documents between different versions or devices. Additionally, the subscription cost for Microsoft 365 may not feel justified for users who only need Word’s basic features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Microsoft Word is a versatile and reliable tool that makes creating professional documents simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's been the industry standard for longer than I can remember – integrates well with Excel and Powerpoint. Easy to use and a go to for everyday writing tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
