**What do you like best about Megamation?**

Megamation’s DirectLine software plays a vital role in standardizing our work across the province, ensuring that all locations follow consistent processes. Its flexibility allows us to tailor the system to our specific needs—whether we’re tracking biomedical equipment details, monitoring the test equipment used in our work, or incorporating any of the many additional features we’ve added. In a fast-paced health care environment, DirectLine is able to change with us in a quick and efficient manner. This adaptability, paired with Megamation’s dependable performance, makes it an essential tool in our health-care operations. Their 24/7 support ensures that any questions or issues are addressed as quickly and efficiently as possible.

**What do you dislike about Megamation?**

Megamation Directline can be complex to learn, as it's very heavily customized, but  the support team at Megamation works with us to ensure we're using the system to fit our needs.

**What problems is Megamation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Operating in health care across a wide geographic region brings unique challenges that typical maintenance environments don’t encounter. To meet these needs, Megamation has tailored its system to support our work, enabling us to capture all the necessary information—much of it specific to biomedical devices. The system also provides the capability to track and transfer certain types of equipment as they move between zones throughout the province.

I really appreciate the consistent support we receive from Megamation employees. They’re always readily available and willing to show you how to get what you need.

**What do you dislike about Megamation?**

I don’t think I have any real dislikes regarding the program. Most of the issues we’ve run into have been due to our staff not fully utilizing all of the features we’re subscribed to.

**What problems is Megamation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We rely on it to figure out which equipment fails most often, where our PM focus needs to be for improvement, and a lot of other performance indicators.

**What do you like best about Megamation?**

DirectLine’s ability to customize campus workflows is outstanding—it adapts to how a university actually operates. Our account manager, programmer team, and support team are consistently responsive, focused, professional, and easy to work with, turning feedback into solutions quickly. And the 24/7 phone/email support means we can reach a real person whenever facilities operations need help, day or night.
For a university environment, DirectLine covers the full lifecycle—from requester submission to technician completion—without leaving the platform. Our requesters use the web portal, technicians and staff work in the mobile app, and administrators manage the backend. Single sign-on (SSO) keeps access simple and secure for our campus community.
We rely heavily on automated workflows and scheduled reports, which reduce manual follow-ups and keep stakeholders informed. Core modules—PMs, work orders, time codes, employee records, and purchasing—are used daily. We also have a purpose-built standing-work-order process that fits recurring campus tasks.

**What do you dislike about Megamation?**

Because we use many custom screens and automations, upgrades require coordination and testing to ensure everything stays aligned. There’s also a learning curve for new staff—there’s a lot of capability, which is great, but unlimited training helps people get the most from it. That said, our account manager, programmer team, and support team are highly responsive, focused, professional, and easy to work with—24/7 phone/email support makes those moments manageable.

**What problems is Megamation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DirectLine centralizes campus maintenance operations and documentation in one place, improving visibility for Facilities Services. 

Automated routing, notifications, and reporting reduce administrative work and speed up response times. The SSO-enabled web portal lowers the barrier for requesters, while mobile keeps field work moving. 

Our standing-work-order setup streamlines routine campus tasks, and PMs help us stay ahead of issues rather than reacting to them.

The system has helped us reduce downtime, improve response times, and make data-driven decisions across our facilities operations.

Easing the workload from IT, the SAAS service mode helped to reduce the cost of operation.

DirectLine has grown with us over more than 20 years, becoming an indispensable part of how we manage facilities across campus.

We’ve been able to customize the system extensively — everything from timecards, time logs, and approval processes to new employee modules and automated email workflows has been built to match our unique operations.

DirectLine interfaces seamlessly with our IT database and our StarRez student housing system, reducing duplication of data entry and ensuring consistency.

The mobile app, web request portal, and single sign-on (SSO) integration make it accessible and easy to use for staff and requesters across the university.

Automated reporting and email notifications provide timely insights and keep everyone informed without requiring manual follow-up.

**What do you dislike about Megamation?**

Because we have so many customizations and modified screens, upgrade can be lengthy, and it requires coordination and testing to ensure our environment continues to run smoothly.

The system is very feature-rich, which is powerful, but it means new staff need training to take full advantage of everything.

Mobile user licensing can be a limitation when multiple departments want to expand usage simultaneously.

DirectLine centralizes all of our maintenance, asset, employee time and inventory management in one place — something we could never achieve with spreadsheets or manual processes.

It ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements through proper tracking, auditing, and reporting.

Automated approval workflows, email notifications, and reporting save staff significant administrative time.

Customized modules like Flatfile process, timecards, mobile device tracking and time logs have streamlined workforce management, while interfaces with IT and StarRez have kept data accurate across systems.

Megamation software is straightforward to use. The cost structure, which allows unlimited users, has been very beneficial. And the support has been very good.

The reporting is not always easy. And there is more clicking in and out of different modules than is desired.

Megamation supports tracking of our Maintenance spend, our asset information and history, and our daily workload among many other things.

Megamation’s adaptability is crucial for us, as we operate in power generation and face far more complex requirements than typical maintenance operations. The flexibility of their DirectLine software has enabled us to collaborate closely with them and implement custom features for Weekly Planning, Shutdown Planning, Permit management, and other essential aspects of our workflow. This has helped ensure that all our sites across the province maintain consistent experiences and processes when carrying out their duties. Additionally, Megamation’s 24/7 support means that whenever we have questions or encounter issues, they are addressed as promptly as possible.

**What do you dislike about Megamation?**

There can be a learning curve to using Megamation’s DirectLine software, particularly the desktop application, which has many custom/complex features, but the team at Megamation is always available to support us, answer any questions and assist with any issues that arose.

**What problems is Megamation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have complex planning needs that require more robust tools than the average maintenance operation. The functionality that Megamation’s DirectLine has given us allows us to plan large, multi-trade jobs in an efficient manner and subsequently use their reporting capabilities to give us an accurate picture of how well we are doing and where changes need to be made. It allows our operation to run as smoothly and effectively as possible and helps us ensure that all of the correct processes are being followed with the many features they provide.

**What do you like best about Megamation?**

What I like best about is how knowledgeable their staff is, and how customizable the software can be. We have weekly meetings with the Megamation team to review various ways we can better utilize the system. These calls have been extremely helpful. We discuss ways we can improve our processes. It’s like they are part of our team.

**What do you dislike about Megamation?**

With all the DirectLine features and implementations we chose to implement, the learning curve was overwhelming at first. So, we relied heavily on the free training and a 24/7 help line Megamation provides as part of the contract for help getting up to speed.

**What problems is Megamation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to customize this CMMS to fit our business needs.  We track a lot of KPIs such as availability, mean time to complete a work order, cost, and open work orders.
