**What do you like best about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

I like the scheduling tool the most, especially its integration with Bloomerang CRM. It’s intuitive to use, makes setting up new volunteer opportunities simple, and has been consistently reliable across both desktop and mobile. The platform makes tracking and communicating with volunteers far easier than relying on the CRM alone. The time it saves is absolutely worth the investment and has helped expand our team’s overall capacity and efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

The reports section can be a bit challenging to pull a report that provides the exact information we are looking for. It takes us a fair amount of trial and error running reports to get what we want.

**What problems is Bloomerang Volunteer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us solve team capacity issues, volunteer scheduling, and communication. Having all of our volunteer information in one place is especially important, because it makes it easy to track signed waivers, training, and identify who our top volunteers are.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

I find Bloomerang Volunteer easy to use and appreciate how straightforward it is to publish opportunities to potential volunteers. I can create detailed opportunity descriptions and forms that effectively secure volunteer information. The ability to easily share the link has led to more volunteers signing up and sharing with their networks, which is great for increasing my reach. It also provides easy access for volunteers to see what opportunities are available, fitting their skills and time availability. Additionally, Bloomerang Volunteer is helpful in recruiting, managing, and thanking the many volunteers we secure for various events throughout the school year.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

I would like more options in the forms. Things like drop-down menus, likert scales, etc. It was a learning curve that I am still navigating. I wish we could add icons. It took awhile to learn that adding icons was the reason my work would not save, and that was frustrating.

That it (sort of) integrates with Salesforce

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

There are so many missing features. For example, you can't even set the time zone for your organization, you have to manually change it every time you create an opportunity (unless you happen to live on the western coast of Mexico). 

The sign up process for a volunteer  is cumbersome and confusing. 

The notifications have a mind of their own, good luck customizing them. 

The app is unintuitive and confuses (red means go, green means stop?)

It forces you to jump through so many unnecessary (and frustrating) hoops for what should be a slightly-more-complicated sign up form. I should not need a computer science degree to check people in and count how many hours they were here. 

But, at least most of the Bloomerang staff are also not trained on the software so even when you pay for phone support it might be days before you hear back. 

We were sold on a system that does not exist. This is not at all what we expected or were promised. I regret making the transition to this software and hope we can make it through until we can justify the transition to another platform.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

Bloomerang Volunteer provides a lot of opportunities for integration between the volunteer teams and the development teams. Some of the functionalities were easy to use. We did not utilize the system as often as it could have been.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

The implementation plan and the ability to talk to folks about what our services needed for our teams and how it could be molded together was super tough. The customer success teams did not feel like they were wanting to work around what we needed and instead was more worried about selling the product. 

We did not utilize the software and I fully believe that there is a lot of work that still needs to be done in order to make the product better and easier for organizations to use.

The product did and has helped to make group volunteer organizations easier to work with and gather information through.

The modern feel, and the ability to send automated emails.

It took us a while to learn the "language" of the software, so to speak. Building out roles and shifts, and running reports, did not feel intuitive at first. Certainly a learning curve but we are looking forward to using it again next year with the knowledge we've gained.

It is helping us host the volunteers for our major annual art festival that attracts thousands of attendees. It is solving the problem of having readily available contact information and means of communicating with our volunteers leading up to the event.

I love that Bloomerang Volunteer is connected to my Bloomerang CRM and is able to track my volunteer staff as constituents. I also love that it gives my volunteers the ability to book their own shifts, eliminating the time suck of scheduling.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

The user experience is still a little clunky. It's not quite as intuitive or slick as Bloomerang Door is and I'd love for it to be updated to be slightly less confusing on both the organization and the volunteer user side.

I love the user interface and the customer support. It's quite easy to use and therefore, to train. Some kinks, but the customer support team is always there to help me and I love that they are constantly looking to improve, per customer requests.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

It's been most helpful in scheduling volunteers for a variety of shifts. We have boosted out volunteer pool simply by having a platform for volunteer to view all opportunities available and ease of sign-up.  The communications tools are incredibly helpful in getting reminders and emails/texts out to volunteers.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

We've been having some trouble with the app. I've noticed that the app doesn't allow for saved passwords and we have an older population of volunteers where tech doesn't come as naturally. So often people are complaining of having to update their password multiple times. Mostly this is user error, but if the app saved passwords or kept people logged in, that would help. Some of the email communication tools haven't be available, but I know are coming.

We are able to promote a wide variety of volunteer opportunities to our community in a way that is really visually appealing and easy to use. This has boosted out pool of volunteers as well as volunteer hours.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

What I love most about Bloomerang Volunteer is how intuitive and easy it is for our volunteers, for our team, and for our folks who work on the back end. I have used other ones including free ones (that we have quickly outgrown) and even one that has been talked about as the best of the paid ones. Bloomerang is less than that paid one and it's unbelievably better. Plus, the support has been beyond good. Super responsive and solution oriented, we have had a tremendous experience. Our volunteers love it too. We get lots of compliments about how easy the process is. We love how Bloomerang has added to our organization!

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

You might think that the pricing is a negative but I have to be honest, it's totally worth it if you rely on volunteers for your organization. You can pay less but you absolutely get what you pay for. You can also pay more and have a product that isn't easy for your volunteers, your staff, and your admins. Plus, you get tremendous support! If you are used to using free volunteer plaforms, you will get sticker shock. Take into account all that you get and the tools that you will have to communicate with and manage your volunteers. Absolutely worth it.

Our biggest needs were to be able to manage multiple events each week, be able to report on the volunteers and their hours, and give our volunteers an easy to navigate experience with a login that will allow them to track and manage their contribution to the organization. Bloomerang solves all these issues for us and for our volunteers.

The best part of Bloomerang Volunteer is how much time I save creating shifts and answering calls about sign-ups. We are able to have a self-scheduled volunteer website. I have saved hours in my everyday tasks. This has allowed me to spend that valuable time growing our volunteer programming and focusing on donations.

It would be helpful if admins could edit volunteer profile information if it is incorrect.

**What problems is Bloomerang Volunteer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Bloomerang Volunteer, our liability waiver and confidentiality waiver are built into the volunteer registrations. Being able to have waivers and emergency contacts of 8,000+ volunteers easily searchable is a game-changer.

Being able to report our volunteer numbers quickly is helpful to grant writing and impact reports to our donors.

It's one place to keep things related to our volunteers including hours, personal information, background checks and more. It's nice to be able to go to one place vs the several folders I had before.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

It can be slightly confusing in the wording when signing up to shifts. People that are new to it typically get confused on they have only signed up to an "Opportunity" and not a shift.

**What problems is Bloomerang Volunteer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform allows me to keep all of my volunteer information in one place, make a schedule easily, add hours as needed, run reports for grant purposes and more. It's allowing me to streamline my volunteer managment much easier than I was able to before.

The design in appealing, and it's relatively easy to use for volunteers. Customer support is also great.

Doesn't offer a calendar view of opportunities, and the shift/role relationship can be a little unweidly to understand when you are new to it.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

I like that the interface is anything but difficult to peruse, the hues are brilliant and neighborly, it's natural you can basically work out how to utilize it - however on the off chance that you need assistance the instructional exercises are incredible, you can modify the product to what your occasion requires, and there's a live visit meaning you can ask InitLive bolster an inquiry and they hit you up excessively fast. The client support is useful and inviting and no inquiry is a dumb one.      

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

Amazing software but at the same time it's irritating that you can't agree to accept moves in the application itself and need to utilize a work area.

**Recommendations to others considering Bloomerang Volunteer:**

Take each preparation they offer. Their group is additionally effectively making changes to improve their item. In the event that you are searching for a vigorous framework that is easy to execute, this is it.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

Our volunteer coordination is a fairly large undertaking - with thousands of volunteers in our data base, 8 different charities we partner with, and 6 different festivals in 4 different cities. We only recently started using Init Live as part of our volunteer organization - and the early reviews have been very positive. Our head volunteer coordinator has been ecstatic with how easy it is to use, how it keeps the entire team organized, and how it has reduced issues and stress during the events.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

So far we have not encountered anything you would call negative. The biggest challenge is getting volunteers to use it for the first time and become comfortable with the system - and that is really just the time commitment of walking them through the first time they use it. After that, they seem to really like it and have no problems.

**What problems is Bloomerang Volunteer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Volunteer coordination is key to having our festivals run well - which in turn has a huge impact on attendees and exhibitors. With the added efficiency volunteers are better able to be in place when and where we need them - which makes for a smoother event overall.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

I'm a Volunteer Programme Manager and am happy to say that I've had the privilege of supporting InitLive almost from the get-go with this product. I've used many others in my career but none match up to what InitLive can do - and most importantly - take away in terms of the tedious admin work that goes into the back-end of systems in volunteer program set up. The interface is easy to read, the colours are bright and friendly, it's intuitive (you can pretty much work out how to use it - but if you need help the tutorials are great), you can customize the software to what your event requires, and there's a live chat meaning you can ask InitLive support a question and they get back to you super quick. The customer support is helpful and friendly and no question is a stupid one! 

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

Can't think of anything! I might have had an answer a year ago but my feedback has been taken into consideration and the new update solves those problems!

You can get on with planning the event knowing that you don't have to invest a ton of time in the administration work for a volunteer program - InitLive takes care of so much.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

We found InitLive a few years ago and it MASSIVELY assisted in our staff-wide efforts to fill positions within our annual large conventions, as we staff them with our International employees. Prior to finding them, we had been using something that was not cutting it in the SLIGHTEST, so it was a real godsend to find InitLive. We appreciate their customer service first and foremost. They are ALWAYS on it to help us and our girl Avery specifically is a dream, truly. We also like any and all "select all" feature, as well as copying roles and shifts.

It gets a bit tricky with an import if you have quite a few staff or shifts to input, and sometimes the imports don't always go as planned (hiccups along the way). We also managed to crash their server once - that was fun! :) It's also annoying that you cannot sign up for shifts in the app itself and have to use a desktop.

I would definitely recommend InitLive, from the standpoint of what it can do for your business AND from the level of customer support you receive.

This has helped to streamline our check-in process for commencement. We have various groups of people that need to check-in at various locations and this helped us to have everything in one place without all of the paper lists everywhere. Additionally, it was a great way for us to see areas of weakness based on who checked in where. I loved having everything at the palm of my hand. I cannot stress enough how much I appreciated the fact that it was an app and not these pages upon pages of spreadsheets. If I needed to find someone, it was a simple search. Their contact information was readily accessible. The only thing that I would love to have as an addition is that each person can have individualized instructions. While some of our groups have general instructions, most of them have specific instructions to their location, and I was unable to get that specific. That aside, I highly recommend!

I like that I can have all of my volunteers in one place, not on multiple spreadsheets!  I like that they can sign up for their own shifts which saves me a bunch of time and emails!  The response times for support are fantastic, they do take suggestions seriously which is helpful!  Everyone I've dealt with has been very friendly and offered up  suggestions to help me with work arounds to the way I had previously done things!

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

I'm still sorting out scheduling to make things work for me.  We have multiple events in multiple cities so I"m also working on sorting volunteers to notify for each specific town/event rather than sending notifications to my entire staff list for 3 different cities.  It's been a bit of a learning curve to move from the spreadsheets to the software but I learn something new each time!

**What problems is Bloomerang Volunteer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do this volunteer organizing alongside a full time field job and managing a part time family in the busiest season for all of us!  We have a bunch of volunteers in different cities so trying to keep that all on track with my work/personal life gets a little frantic.  The INITLive software allows me to be portable (I can use any system!)  and frees up time to recruit more volunteers and help with the actual event organizing as well.  If I can help the others they can then focus on the more important tasks of their jobs.

They system is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, most of it is intuitive to figure out and set up. It's great overall for managing volunteers. Their are also very enthusiastic to listen to your needs and are working to implement some suggestions our team has made, which is great!

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang Volunteer?**

Perhaps we didn't understand some of the system but we had to go back and redo calendar items one at a time (1000s of shifts). We're lucky that the Initlive team did most of it for us but not doing something simple to make shifts appear the way you'd like and having to go in one by one to fix it is not only tedious but time consuming. Please take advantage of the training and walk through to avoid this. The mobile app didn't work as we expected but we forgot to schedule a training on that specifically, which we'll do with the system this year.

Take every training they offer. Their team is also actively making changes to improve their product. My review may become irrelevant due to those changes.

After my initial reach out to Avery she was with me every step of the way. If she was out of the office, I got a reply from a colleague, all in a very timely manner. We implemented InItLive for a unique solution and it worked great! I was extremely impressed with the level of customer service.

There wasn't much to dislike. There were a few limitations to the program that could be enhanced (and after talking to them, I'm sure they will be) but many of those enhancements were because we used the tool for something different than its original purpose. However, increasing capabilities to of the roles tool to enhance individual access would be one dislike.

We love that shift supervisors can communicate with their team members before, during and after the event. They can also rate volunteers' performance and make suggestions as to where their assets would be best deployed.

Because we don't allow unscreened applicants to self-select shifts, the workflow is a little bit clunky, but we have developed a communication system that works for us. Would be nice if roles stayed on the staff profiles when imported from the organization list to an event list.

InitLive offers a clean, straightforward design that is user friendly for all. Individuals signing up for the event can do so in 4 simple steps, in less than 15 minutes. Administrator's can easily customize several of the setting in the back end to create the ideal experience for their organization.

InitLive is not supported by Internet Explorer, which some Government employees etc. are required to use at work.

I enjoyed handheld phone application. It was easy for me to communicate with my 300 plus volunteers when help was needed and where. I had a headset with the other organizers to communicate with them quicker

The calendar scheduling view - the inability to edit what the schedule looks like in a calendar view. And notifications from the app seem to be a little laggy. It is hard to tell who gets updates on phone, or email.

The best feature for us is the online registration form and schedule picker. We save a lot of time by not having to gather the information from volunteers and then having to enter it.

With a lot of volunteers it can be hard to track when a volunteer registers or removes themselves from a shift. I would recommend having a notification feature.

InitLive's mobile app is amazing on-site at an event. It is great for corralling late volunteers and being in constant communication with any changes (or surprise snacks).

I wish InitLive had enhanced reporting and a mass upload/edit capability for shifts, and our staff wishes they could pick up shifts from their cell phone.

InitLive gives us true transparency into where our staff/volunteers are when they're on-site. We can instantly have our 300+ employees cell numbers on hand, and are able to send out push notifications for last-minute needs (like chair drops!) The best thing about InItLive is the ability to allow volunteers to manage themselves.   We used this sytem for the first time in 2017.   The ease of moving all the information from the 2017 setup into the 2018 event was remarkable.   The more we use the system, the more we love it.

We dislike that we are unable to use the system year round.   The cost is prohibitive.

We are able to put together our staff plan for our biannual conferences online.  In the past in putting together the staff plan, I took weeks to master as you had to make sure staff and volunteers weren't double booked.  The InitLive app/website does this for you.  So it cuts down on a lot of unnecessary time creating a staff plan yourself.
