Hiver’s shared inbox and email collaboration features make it incredibly easy for teams to manage support and sales queries without missing anything. The ability to assign emails, track status, and communicate internally via notes improves productivity and response time significantly.

Sometimes the performance can lag slightly when handling a high volume of emails or when switching between views. Also, some deeper automation features are limited compared to full-fledged help desk tools.

Hiver helps us manage shared email inboxes (like support@ and info@) in a much more organized and efficient way. Before Hiver, tracking ownership of emails, response status, and internal communication was messy and time-consuming. The ability to assign emails to specific team members is invaluable. No more "did someone reply to that?" chaos. The shared draft and notes features have also streamlined our collaboration immensely, ensuring we're all on the same page and providing consistent, high-quality customer service.

The best part about Hiver is that it's super simple. Since it's right in Gmail, it's not a pain to learn, everything is already implemented. We didn't have to train our team on a new tool; they were productive with it from day one; the integration was very smooth. Customer support is very efficient with the 24/7 chat available.

Nothing comes to mind. The only downside is that it’s exclusively for Gmail, so it won’t work if you’re on a different email platform.

The email management and task assignment features are excellent. It centralizes communication and ensures nothing slips through the cracks. Using it as our major customer support workflow has been a game-changer. It is quite easier to use and we use it quite frequently in our day to day routine.

**What do you dislike about Hiver in Gmail?**

A two-way integration with Slack would be extremely helpful. Right now, we can view some notifications, but deeper integration to manage tasks or conversations directly from Slack would improve efficiency. Also, better email notifications like daily digest will be useful.

**What problems is Hiver in Gmail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiver helps us manage customer support directly from Gmail without needing a separate ticketing system. Instead of forwarding or CC’ing emails, we can assign tasks, track ownership, and leave internal notes right within the inbox. This eliminates confusion about who is handling what and ensures faster response times for customers.

It also improves team visibility - everyone can see the full context of a conversation, which reduces duplication and miscommunication. As a result, our customer support workflow is more organized, efficient, and accountable.

**What do you like best about Hiver in Gmail?**

Hiver has been great for managing the queue of support inquiries that come to us on a daily basis. I really enjoy that I can use some of the automation features to pick up on certain words or the intent of the request and from there, properly assign it to the relevant team member to handle. It keeps my inbox organized!! Also support was quick to help when I was first starting out which I appreciated!

My one comment, which really isn't even a Hiver problem probably, is that when I'm assigning emails to other people, they stay marked as unread in my inbox. So I have all these "unread emails" in my inbox that other team members have already taken care of. So it looks like I deceivingly have more emails to take care of than I really do.

It's helping us manage our support inquiries. We are a small team that is having an increased volume of support inquiries that need to be streamlined and organized to the proper individuals to take care of the requests.

Hive has been really helpful in helping our team be able to work more efficiently in unison while not being present with each other. Instead of having to talk to eachother and then reply to an email, Hiver gives us easy visibility into what is happening behind the scenes. It's relatively user friendly and the team picked up how to use it quicly. Hiver's customer service is also very helpful!

**What do you dislike about Hiver in Gmail?**

After installing Hiver- things just move slower in the email platform/URL/inbox. 
It is quite a heavy lift to install Hiver and get it working as efficiently as I know it can! It's a LOT of manual work upfront which would be my biggest hesitency in recommending it to someone.

It's allowing our team to have insight and visibility into all the different areas of our business and allowing our team members to stay in their lane of expertise.

What I like the most is how easy it is to move emails into the mailboxes and assign an owner. After all, without someone responsible, it becomes difficult to manage.

**What do you dislike about Hiver in Gmail?**

What I like the least is the app, which is not very user-friendly. That’s why I keep using the Gmail app, but with it I can’t tell which emails belong to a shared mailbox and which don’t. This reduces my productivity.

The first benefit is allowing people to have access to all the emails in the mailbox. This makes internal communication easier. The second is the possibility of using it as a customer support tool.

Hiver really works well to sort out the emails I specifically need to give attention to, helps me keep track of ongoing projects, and keeps me focused on what I need to do for the day.

It allows you to manage workloads and team members, especially during absences.  Allows for monthly reporting of volume and team member completion numbers.

Learning curve if team members are not familiar with google and hiver.  Getting customers to send to Hiver email instead of individuals can also create confusion. Once everyone is on board, the process flows nicely.

**What do you like best about Hiver in Gmail?**

When our CEO introduced us to Hiver, my first impression is that nothing could be as good as advertised.  We easily get 100 plus emails a day of medical records that must be uploaded properly and suspensed throughout the 20 member team.  Litle did I know that Hiver categorization makes it possible to handle an avalanche of emails by allowing the work load to be categorized and allow anyone free from a task to step in and pick up someone else's workload to keep them from falling behind.  The best way to describe what Hiver does is balance the workload and keep up with the deadlines and tasks much easier.  Once I finish uploading all the faxes, I look and see which employee appears to have too many emails assigned to her, so I text her I'll jump in and start processing some of her workload.  Or if someone is busy intaking a new client (and it can be two or three hours), she or he can signal to rest of employees on google chat that need help in my email box for next hour and someone jumps to it.  Our workload is distributed more equally but the outcome is since utilizing and training on Hiver we rarely fall behind in timely processing of the many tasks our legal office requires.  Makes multi-tasking much easier.

**What do you dislike about Hiver in Gmail?**

Least helpful is that it's easy to think someone is behind processing tasks and to assume they are not keeping up when the reality is they are speaking with clients or business vendors handling matters.  When you have a multiploe email chain, you have to remember that the first email might be closed and assigned to someone but that the next eail might also need closing after confirming the assignee. Other than that, hard to think of any negatives as it is a must for companies that need multi-tasking.

I communicate with at least ten to twelve of our employees daily.  Hiver makes things go smooth.  I assign incoming emails to the various project managers and then I can observe if those assignments get processeed efficiently. I go home knowing where we are at and when I come in the next day by looking at the Hiver unassigned vs assigned categories I instantly get an accurate snapshot of where I need to start.

Hiver let's me see at a glance what my team is working on. I can get detailed stats on our reponse times. We can make notes within the system to ensure we are all on the same page. Setup was much easier than the first product we tried.

Very few downsides. Sometimes an email gets stuck in my inbox after it's closed but a quick x-out of the inbox tag resolves the issue.

It is easy for us to grab emails from a shared inbox without unnecessary coordination. Closed emails pop back into open status with replies. Internal notes are easily visible.

We were looking for a solution for a shared customer service inbox that allowed us to assign emails. Hiver did this and more. There were lots of features that we loved- email templates, auto responses & analytics were some of my favotires! We used Hiver on a daily basis and were able to keep organized. It was so simple to install and learn to use.

**What do you dislike about Hiver in Gmail?**

I tried using the CSAT and everytime we closed an email it sent the survey but if a customer responded to the email instead of clicking an answer it would open the email back up and it was an endless cycle so eventually I just turned it off.

You have to use Chrome browser to utalize Hiver.

Hiver allowed us to used one shared inbox with several customer service reps.

The integration of Hiver into Gmail is hands-down the best feature. When searching for a shared inbox I did not want something that would require having yet another tab open. I needed something that would work with the system that my team was already using.

I dislike that you aren't able to assign more than one person to an email. There are some items we have that are being addressed by multiple people and I would like the emails to show up in both of their assigned tabs. This is still the biggest downside I have experienced.

Hiver helps to solve the issue of missed emails - it is very easy for an email to get lost if it is sent to a single team member, but when everyone has access to the emails it holds us all accountable. It also cuts down on the forwarding (then forgetting) of emails. The collaboration aspect is also very beneficial - I like being able to make comments on the emails and chat with my teammates without having to leave the email.

Tags and filtering has been the most used and valuable for us. With Hiver we can manage small businesses emails and break down offers and other messages so that they can be more easily handled by several people. Very easy to use and it took just couple days to get used to Hiver. We use it daily and all the time. It makes the email messaging quick and more systematic. Customer support answers also well to our questions.

Sometimes the ''Private link for members of the shared mailbox'' links won't work and another issue we have had is that when when replying to a thread where the most recent message was sent by me, Hiver automatically selects me as the recipient. If this is not corrected, the message will not reach the right person.

With Hiver, customer emails don't get lost in the mail and our people can easily manage contacts and leave comments to help the next processor move on. This helps us to keep response times short. In addition, for example, requests for quotations are easy to process using tags, and if a customer has not responded to a request for quotation, we can send a new enquiry later, either through automation or ourselves. This allows us to better deliver final orders.

Hiver help our accounts payable team manage their inbox in an organize manner. Our AP team receives hundreds of emails per day, and Hiver help us delegate and assign emails to our AP organization. As a manager, their analytics feature helps me monitor the work and gives me good insight on responsibilites.

We experience minor glitches and bugs such as emails that shows up as 'unassigned' even though the inbox was clear. Their customer support team was able to resolve it after raising the issue.

I love the ease of working within Hiver and having a shared inbox with my colleagues. It makes it so easy for us to grab e-mails for each other when someone is out. The search feature is powerful, so we can find customer emails quickly by sharing an inbox. Finally, the template feature is incredible. I love that I can have private templates that only I use but that we also have shared templates for e-mails we send often. Being able to have a CSM-like program operating within Gmail is fantastic.

The SLA markers are finicky, and we've had a lot of trouble getting them to report correctly. When we first set up our shared inbox, we had challenges with e-mails filtering into the wrong sections, which was frustrating. We've been able to troubleshoot a lot of these, but it took a bit longer to get up and going.

The fact that I can easily transfer emails to my team with just a click of the mouse is amazing. I also took a minute to create some automation rules that have been life savers. Emails that I do not need to see are automatically assigned to my team. It has saved me so much time! HIver is a very user friendly tool that has worked seamlessly with gmail.

I cannot figure out the collision detection I guess because my team and I are constantly replying to the same emails. A lot of the times you do not see their reply until after I have also already emailed.

We use Hiver daily for several shared inboxes. It helps us to quickly route calls to the person who is best equipped to answer that email.

It sometimes "rolls up" emails from the shared inbox with the same email that arrives in my person inbox. If that email through Hiver is marked closed by someone else, the same email in my inbox is marked as read and I may not see it. it is a minor glitch and we have found a workaround for it.

We have several shared inboxes, and several persons may need to respond to those emails. Instead of having one person responsible for answering and then forwarding those to the appropriate person, Hiver allows us to quickly route an email to the person by assigning it to them. We can mark the email closed once the issue is resolved. We can track our response time to emails and the type of email that comes in. From an analytics standpoint, we can also measure the number of emails we have related to single issues to help us develop better internal processes.

- Ease of use. Very short learning curve.
- Beautiful and seamless UI.
- Works directly in GMAIL, avoiding the need to have to jump between different tabs or software.

- Hiver is continuously changing their plans. Negatively. Moving features to more expensive tiers, arbitrarily increasing the pricing of their plans, and then adding handicap features to lower level plans in order to force users to accept a deteriorated performance or othererwise upgrade.
- In November 2023 they randomly added a feature that inserts Hiver branding/marketing into your emails. Their messaging about this is it "Reinforces the trust between you and your email recipients...". You can't turn off their hijacking of the email, the adding of this watermark or advertising without upgrading. 
- Searching in your own inbox requires some additional search parameters since shared inboxes are now essentially integrated with your own. We would have more team members use it across different departments if the pricing model was different.

Since we have been using Hiver. We have had the best support possible. Anything issues or request that we occur. They either try to resolve it or try to implement an integration that works for us.

One of the things I personally dislike is when seeing all the emails that are sent out by me. It is quite difficult as it brings up the search for all users email that was sent out.

Being able to quickly and easily sort, assign, and respond to all incoming customer inquiries has saved us a tremendous amount of time. Adding and removing users is simple and training staff takes no time at all. We use Hiver daily for all of our customer correspondence.

Sometimes our staff sign out of the correct email account associated with Hiver, and they're no longer able to see the shared inbox folder. Other than that we have not had any issues.

It allows our team members to collaborate easily and quickly within a single space versus forwarding emails, etc. It has improved the overall lifecycle time of our customer interactions. We use Hiver daily and it was an extremely easy solution to switch over to. Hiver's support has been invaluable and so helpful.

We have some team members who do not utilize Hiver but still access the email inboxes. Hiver does not communicate with Gmail to archive emails that we have responded to already within Hiver so the regular Gmail inboxes look messy and as if no one is actually taking care of the emails at first glance.

I like the tagging feature to keep up with what type of customer requests I am receiving. **What problems is Hiver in Gmail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiver allows us to declutter, organize and assign a shared inbox between 6-10 employees. This inbox is used as a customer support help desk and our support team uses Hiver to manage customer communications. We are able to communicate and assign internal employees to review specific emails. This saves our team time and creates better awareness of everything that is being done.

When emails show up in so many places on the inbox and under labels it sometimes gets confusing what emails are specically mine and which are part of the shared inbox.  I would really like it if things were a little more user friendly.

**What do you like best about Hiver in Gmail?**

I love that we are able to make comments and have discussions about emails right there in Gmail so that the person responsible for sending the reply knows exactly what to say. Also, now that we got notifications setup properly, I get push notifications on my phone whenever there's a new email, something is assigned to me, or someone tags me in a comment. I work for a non-profit where everyone is an unpaid volunteer and we don't have much extra cash, so we couldn't put as many people as we would like on Hiver, but the new feature to allow people in our org to comment on messages is SUPER helpful for us!

**What do you dislike about Hiver in Gmail?**

The mobile app still needs some work. I assume most organizations using this tool have full time employees replying to emails, so they do everything from a computer, but as a fully volunteer organization, we are trying to reply to emails while out and about focused on other things, so we rely heavily on mobile and would prefer it to be more full featured. For example, when someone tags you in a comment on an email, you can see the comments, but not the email it's connected to.

**What problems is Hiver in Gmail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have several volunteers sharing the role of responding to emails and not all of those volunteers have all the knowledge they need to reply. Hiver helps us share the load so that a single person doesn't have to reply to every email. It also helps us keep organized, since we can easily keep track of the status of emails.

I don't like how I have to unassign emails so they do not come back to me. But other than that I have no complaints.

**What do you like best about Hiver in Gmail?**

I like that emails are closed out for all parties and moved out of the unassigned area. We can see who closed out and assigned the email and not double up on emails. The notes section is amazing too, not having to clutter email chains and have a side conversation with the people in the group.

**What do you dislike about Hiver in Gmail?**

The emails don't get marked as unread. They stay open in the work email. But not a huge issue

**What problems is Hiver in Gmail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No one duplicating email work. Once an email is closed, nothing gets repeated
