Comparing the IP Address Intelligence category on G2 for the budget angle, the trade-off worth naming plainly is that the free tiers here are genuinely useful for prototyping and low-volume use, but reviewers consistently flag pricing climbing once usage scales, which means the actual test for a small company isn't the free tier itself, it's what the bill looks like at your projected volume in a year, not at launch. Accuracy claims across these providers are harder to verify from reviews alone than pricing is, since accuracy varies by region and IP range in ways a general review rarely captures. So a company with a specific geographic user base is better served by testing accuracy against its own actual traffic than by trusting a general accuracy rating.

The honest framing for a small team is that pay-only-for-what-you-use pricing protects against a slow-growth scenario, but it can end up costing more than a flat plan once usage genuinely scales, so the right choice partly depends on how confident the company is in its own growth trajectory.
