**What do you like best about Dext?**

The automation is very helpful. It saves time when documenting expenses by quickly extracting receipt data, and it makes AR and AP easier thanks to its integration with Quickbooks. Instead of having someone manually review items and record all the details, it only takes a few seconds to upload a receipt, have the information automatically extracted, and get it published.<br><br>This is especially useful across teams where employees incur expenses as part of their work. I’ve also found the mileage tracking tools helpful for employees who use their personal vehicles while working and need reimbursement. It saves them from having to do extensive calculations for fuel mileage and other vehicle-related expenses.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Dext has some limitations on which file formats can be uploaded, which sometimes means we have to convert documents before submitting them. For example, one of my clients uses Dext to help track their accounts receivable. They issue invoices in Excel format, so before uploading them to Dext for automatic tracking, I need to convert each invoice to a PDF first.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext has played a huge role in optimizing our payroll processes. Our payroll includes employee expenses and mileage, and we used to track employee hours, expenses, and mileage in spreadsheets and then review everything manually. Now, with Dext, our employees can upload receipts directly to Dext and use the mileage tracking tool. This saves us time and helps ensure our payroll is more reliable when it comes to paying employees.

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I really like how Dext handles automatic data extraction for all our property-related invoices and receipts. Our Wiesbaden property management portfolio covers roughly 120 residential rental units, so we receive a constant stream of maintenance contractor bills, utility invoices, property tax statements, and expense receipts for our building owners every single month. Before adopting Dext, my team had to manually transcribe each document’s supplier name, gross amount, VAT percentage, net cost and payment due date into spreadsheets. This repetitive typing was extremely time-consuming and easy to make mistakes on, especially with German VAT invoices that have multiple tax lines.

Now I simply upload scanned PDFs or photo snapshots of these documents to Dext. Its OCR reliably pulls out all the critical financial fields automatically. I often use the mobile upload function when our property inspector visits apartments onsite. If he collects a paper receipt from a plumber or electrician, he can take a photo right there and submit it into our Dext inbox immediately, rather than holding onto physical paper and risking losing the receipt before returning to the office.

Another useful feature is that Dext saves the original invoice image permanently alongside the extracted data. When one of our property owners requests proof for a quarterly expense report, I can quickly pull up the source invoice directly inside Dext. I don’t need to search our Seafile document archive separately to locate the scanned copy. This streamlines our month-end financial prep work and cuts down many hours of manual data entry for our small team. It also reduces typos that frequently popped up when we manually entered invoice values into Excel in the past.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

One frustrating issue I regularly run into with Dext is inconsistent OCR performance on older German paper invoices and handwritten notes added by contractors. We often get faded, scanned maintenance bills from local Wiesbaden tradespeople like plumbers and heating technicians. When the print quality is poor, Dext sometimes misreads German tax numbers, street names with umlauts, or splits the VAT amount incorrectly. I then have to go in and manually correct each field one by one. There’s no bulk edit tool for fixing these errors, so correcting a batch of ten or twelve flawed invoices can eat up a big chunk of my afternoon.

I also find the CSV export function tricky when preparing files to import into Tower CRM. The exported data fields don’t map perfectly to our property and tenant fields in the CRM. Every time I export invoice records, I need to open the CSV in Excel, rearrange columns, and double-check for corrupted special characters in German addresses before I can import. There is no custom export template I can save for our property management workflow, so I repeat this manual column reordering every month.

On top of that, the audit log is limited for our German GDPR documentation requirements. We need clear, immutable records showing who uploaded, edited, or approved each invoice for our property owner audits. Dext logs basic upload timestamps, but it does not capture enough detail on every manual correction made to extracted data. When an owner questions an old expense, I spend extra time cross-referencing notes to explain changes we made to OCR results. These small gaps don’t make the tool unusable, but they add recurring admin overhead each month for our small Wiesbaden property management team.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext solves the huge manual workload we faced processing invoices and receipts for our Wiesbaden rental portfolio, which includes about 120 residential units. Before we started using Dext, our team manually typed data from maintenance bills, utility invoices and owner expense receipts into Excel spreadsheets. It was repetitive, slow, and easy to make typos on German VAT amounts, tax IDs and supplier details. We also struggled to keep track of physical paper receipts; contractors would hand over bills on site, and we sometimes misplaced them before we could scan and file them into Seafile.

With Dext, we upload PDFs or mobile photos of incoming invoices. Its OCR extracts all the key financial data automatically, including net amounts, VAT and due dates. Our field inspector can snap photos of paper bills while visiting rental properties and send them straight into Dext, so we no longer lose physical receipts. The original invoice image is stored within Dext, so I can quickly retrieve the source document when property owners request proof of expenses for their quarterly statements.

This benefits our team in multiple ways. It drastically cuts down hours of manual data entry each month and reduces human typing errors. We then export the cleaned invoice data as CSV, adjust the columns, and import the records into Tower CRM to link expenses to the relevant property and owner profile. Even though we still have to fix occasional OCR mistakes and manually prepare CSV files for Tower CRM, Dext removes the heaviest part of our paperwork process. It makes our month-end financial reconciliation much smoother for our small property management team.

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Dext is a great tool that gets used a lot both internally at the firm and externally by clients and allows us to be able to continue supporting our clients to our full potential. 

Specific features I enjoy and love to share with my clients is the UI. It's very user friendly and clients often appreciate being able to upload documents via different and convenient methods like the app, whatsapp, email, etc. 

The integrations, in particular with accounting software makes for a very seamless experience for the client and a very valuable one for us at the firm. 

The newer AI features are a huge plus for the team as it allows us to continue to streamline, automate, and save on manual tasks which in turn saves on time. 

Additionally, having the Dext team come and do an in-person session with us is always so valuable as we're able to connect directly and use real life examples, and learn about new features and how to utilize them, give and get real time feedback.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

One minor thing is the mobile app limitation in comparison to the desktop

Dext solves time-consuming manual data entry from financial documents. It really reduces administrative work and minimizes the risk of human error. It allows us to do our jobs more efficiently and focus on higher-value tasks.

**What do you like best about Dext?**

The UI is pretty straightforward, which makes it easy to use. The AI is decent overall, even though there are a few hiccups here and there.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The pricing is honestly the biggest downside to Dext. While the per-client cost isn’t too bad, the mandatory minimum of 10 clients is a deal breaker. I only have a few clients (around 3–4) who actually need Dext’s help with bookkeeping, so being forced to pay for another six clients I don’t need is simply too much. Also, sometimes the AI fails to detect the amounts in receipt, to the point where I have to review every single receipts and invoices to ensure that every amount is entered correctly. For instance, sometime the AI will fail to detect HST paid completely, which just increases overall time spent.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext has been helping improve my time efficiency. In most cases, as long as the AI processes the uploaded documents correctly, Dext is useful for detecting duplicate invoices and saves me a lot of time on otherwise time-consuming bookkeeping tasks.

**What do you like best about Dext?**

What I like best about Dext is how much time it saves me on data entry. Instead of manually keying in every receipt and invoice, I just snap a photo or forward the email and it pulls the supplier, date, amount, and tax details automatically. The extraction accuracy has gotten noticeably better over time, and it syncs straight into Xero and QuickBooks, so my clients' books stay current without me chasing paperwork. The mobile app is clean and easy enough that even my less tech-savvy clients can submit receipts on the go. Onboarding was straightforward, and when I've had questions, support has been responsive. For the amount of manual work it removes, the pricing pays for itself pretty quickly across a client portfolio.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The biggest downside is that the extraction isn't perfect, so I still have to review and correct items now and then, especially with unusual invoice layouts or handwritten receipts. It can occasionally misread amounts or pull the wrong tax code, which means I can't fully trust it without a quick check. Every so often the sync with Xero lags or an item gets stuck, which takes a few minutes to sort out. None of these are dealbreakers, but they're the rough edges I run into.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext solves the paperwork bottleneck that used to eat up so much of my time. Before, I was manually entering receipts and invoices and constantly chasing clients for missing documents, which made month-end a scramble. Now clients submit as they go, everything gets captured and coded, and it flows into their accounting software, so the books stay closer to real-time instead of being weeks behind. That means I can take on more clients without adding hours, close periods faster, and give clients cleaner, more current numbers when they need to make decisions. It's also cut down on lost receipts and the errors that came with rushed manual entry.

**What do you like best about Dext?**

It has been imperative to our Firm's progression and growth within the industry. The auto publish and supplier statement features are incredible at improving efficiencies throughout all of our clients. Kyle and Charmaine who work for Dext are always on hand for support and are incredibly quick to reply - the service from these two is so important. Whilst it is a large cost to cover, we have found the number of staff we have been able to train and progress on to more complex work as a result of them not being stuck analysing paperwork has been one of the main reasons our company has grown so much over the last 10 years.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

There are very few features we dislike, however I would say we have some issues integrating with other software, such as Kashflow.

It has been integral to developing our bookkeeping and VAT department, allowing us to take on much higher volume jobs due to the sheer speed and accuracy it can complete the data extraction and analysis. It has also helped us to understand which clients use the features effectively and what we can recommend to improve performance

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I love that it keeps a digital record of all submitted receipts. It also pulls information from the receipts we submit, which speeds up the process of entering details into our accounting program (for us, this is primarily QBO). I also use the Dext Extension and being able to quickly review expenses within QBO with a side by side view of the attached receipt saves me so much time. We've recently been utilizing the statement reconciliation feature more and truly appreciate how quick it is to identify missing items. I've heard feedback from clients as well about how much they appreciate this. Using rules for some of our farm files which have to split utilities between a percentage of personal and business use, this has sped up the processing of all utility expenses as Dext handles the split automatically.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Our province has both GST and PST. When we want to use the proper tax code for easier analysis from our accounting program, there’s no way to override the tax amount if the rounding is even slightly different from what’s on the receipt. At that point, we’re forced to use the extracted amount. We have a few clients where we do a detailed GST analysis every month, so we try to apply the correct sales tax code to make that process faster. However, the tax amount seems to be hard-coded, and the only fields you can adjust are the net and gross amounts.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext helps us manage a high volume of client receipts, which improves our efficiency and gives us more time to focus on other tasks. It also supports our move to a paperless office, since all of our clients are expected to submit their information through Dext. **What do you like best about Dext?**

We run finance teams for a large number of high growth SMEs, so we roll Dext out across a whole book of customers rather than a single business. That makes adoption the thing we care about most, and it is where Dext earns its place. Setting up a new customer takes minutes, and the people submitting the paperwork, who are not finance people, pick it up without us having to train them. Extraction on invoices and receipts is accurate enough that what lands in Xero needs very little correction, and statement reconciliation through Dext saves us real time at month end. The product also moves. We get meaningful updates regularly rather than a roadmap that never ships.

There is no proper expense management layer with approval workflows, so anything involving employee claims or a sign off chain has to happen outside Dext and then come back in. For a tool that already owns the document capture step, that is a gap worth closing.

The biggest benefits for me are that receipt and invoice capture is straightforward: clients can photograph, email, or upload documents, instead of sending over a messy pile of PDFs and paper receipts. Dext then extracts key details like the supplier, date, invoice number, tax, and amounts automatically.

I also find the supplier rules and auto-publish features really useful. Once recurring vendors are mapped correctly, Dext can automatically apply the right account, tax treatment, and other coding, and then publish the transactions.

Finally, the Xero integration is excellent, and it’s probably the biggest advantage for a firm already using Xero. Dext can push both the source document and the transaction information directly into Xero, so the receipt ends up attached to the accounting entry rather than being stored separately.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

For an accounting firm, the main things I dislike about Dext are the cost and the way the limits have changed. The price can be difficult to justify, especially for smaller or low-volume clients. I’ve also seen recent users complain about rising pricing and tighter extraction limits, which makes it even harder to feel confident about the value.

I like that Dext automatically extracts receipt and invoice data quickly and accurately, which saves me a lot of time on manual entry. I also appreciate that it integrates directly with QBO, since that’s the main bookkeeping software we use at our firm, so it fits smoothly into our existing workflow.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The main downside with Dext is how it handles Canadian taxes in its exportable reports, particularly GST and PST. Most of the Dext reports we use don’t differentiate between the two taxes, and if we need to adjust the amount for one of them after posting—such as reducing the GST ITCs for meals—we have to go back to the original receipt. That process takes a lot of time.

Dext solves the problem of having to manually enter all the receipts and invoices our clients bring us. Before Dext, clients would often show up with a big box full of receipts and bills, and we had to type the details from each item into our bookkeeping software by hand. **What do you like best about Dext?**

Dext has changed the way accountants and business owners alike record and manage their expenditure. The app allows on the go capture of expenditure and is easy to show clients how to use. The app has very high accuracy levels using AI and data capture technology which reduces manual entry and saves time for all users. Dext forms our key app stack integrating with our chosen accounting platform - Xero. The support from our account manager is great and we really value this.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The downside of using Dext is it is another app to train clients on in addition to the accounting platform, however we sell this to clients as Dext is used alongside Xero. The additional cost can be a negative but focusing on the benefits and maintaining a good price point is important.

In the Dext Approvals section, there isn’t an easy way to see which items have been approved, who approved them, and related details. Once something is approved, it just moves into the Published section under costs, which isn’t very helpful for tracking approvals. There also doesn’t seem to be a straightforward way to backtrack and review the approval audit trail within Dext. This is causing frustration for clients as they are unable to easily review approved items.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It reduces the time I spend manually entering information. It now checks VAT numbers, which is really useful because verifying VAT numbers can be time-consuming. It also flags potential duplicates for review, which helps prevent duplicates from ending up in the accounting system; previously, you often wouldn’t notice this until you were reviewing your payables or receivables ledgers. Dext AI Assist, with the ability to split line items, is great as it saves a lot of time typing in information. Before, I would need to split line items manually and amend the narrative for each line so it matched the specific items from the body of the invoice.

I use Dext to manage and collect receipts and invoices, which is essential for both self-employed and limited companies. It provides an easy-to-use platform that helps in correctly claiming VAT. The AI information-gathering features save me time in everyday bookkeeping tasks and help me stay up to date. The platform is easy to manage for younger, tech-savvy self-employed customers due to its features compatible with Making Tax Digital (MTD). I particularly like the autofill features, autopublishing, and the receipt request feature on Xero. These save me a lot of time by eliminating the need to manually fill out emails for specific invoices, and they easily highlight missing information so I can focus on what's important, avoiding the 'faffy stuff'. The initial setup was really easy for me as Gen Z, and I find Dext very useful, with no other software solution currently matching it.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

There are a couple of features in Dext that don't work as well as I'd hoped, like the cost connections. I've spoken to Dext and the issues aren't on their side, but these were a bit of a selling point for my clients, and they don't work. The new two-factor authentication and the different country login process mean that for most, we can't even log in, and for others, they require weekly codes to be entered. I was hoping to set them up and forget about them, getting the invoices as they were raised without having to poke my clients, which isn't possible and is a big shame. I have to rely on them sending them when they receive them. I tried to set up auto-forwarding on emails to fix this, but mail needs to be running when the email is received, which also doesn't work. Additionally, I want to have multiple rules for one contact, and the AI tool was really hard to use as it's text format rather than if X then do Y. The initial setup was easy for me as Gen Z, but my older colleagues found it really hard to pick up and use; it wasn't logical to them.

The interface is very easy to navigate and everything is layed out in a way that makes sense. Mainly use it as an intergration to xero but have used it for QBO and Sage and it works well! The AI assist is a great feature and i have helped a client set it up and its cut their bookeeping time.

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Dext is a feature-rich product compared with other products of its kind. The user interface is easy to navigate, and the bulk feature is very handy. The integration with banks and accounting software makes it seamless to get data into it.

I find the quality of the scans, and the way it reads tax rates, values, and other pertinent information, to be class-leading; it consistently outperforms others. The pricing structure is tiered and, in my experience, I pass it on to clients and they are more than happy to pay for it, as they much prefer it to the alternatives.

I have used Dext for six years now, and each account manager I have worked with has been very hands-on and has helped me out when required. Whether that’s at shows or on a call, the support is always there. Recently, we’ve been very impressed with the new AI feature, and it has made over 1,000 suggestions to our client base, of which over 900 have been implemented.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I’m finding Dext Solo a little clunky at the moment, so I’ll need to go through another session to understand how to get the best out of it and how my clients use it.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext has helped us significantly cut down on manual bookkeeping and admin by automating the capture and extraction of supplier invoices, receipts, and statements across multiple clients. It has improved the accuracy of our bookkeeping, streamlined our accounts payable processes, and given us much better real-time visibility into client records. The biggest benefit has been the time saved on data entry, VAT preparation, and month-end work, while also making it far easier for our team and clients to collaborate and keep financial records organised and compliant.

We've found Dext to be a valuable addition to our bookkeeping processes. The receipt capture is straightforward and easy for clients to use, whether uploading via the mobile app, email or desktop, and the data extraction is generally accurate, saving a significant amount of manual data entry.

The onboarding process is simple and intuitive, making it quick to get both staff and clients up and running. The integration with accounting software also works well, helping to keep records up to date and reducing the amount of paperwork clients need to retain.

In terms of performance, Dext is generally reliable and processes documents quickly, although there can occasionally be delays during busier periods. The main downside is the pricing, which we find is on the high side; however that being said we find Dext Solo pricing to be very competitve.

Overall, Dext is an easy-to-use, efficient platform that has improved our bookkeeping workflows and made receipt management much simpler for both our team and our clients.

The main area we feel could be improved is the pricing structure, which can become quite expensive as the number of clients or users increases.While the data extraction is generally very good, there are occasions where supplier details or VAT information require manual correction.

Dext has significantly reduced the amount of manual bookkeeping by automating the capture and extraction of data from receipts and invoices. This saves our team time, improves accuracy and allows us to process clients' records much more efficiently. It has also made it easier for clients to submit their paperwork throughout the year rather than storing paper receipts until the end of a quarter, resulting in more complete records, fewer missing documents and a smoother bookkeeping process. Dext Solo has been especially helpful for Making Tax Digital (MTD), giving clients a simple way to capture and store receipts digitally throughout the quarter, helping them meet HMRC's record-keeping requirements and making the preparation of quarterly submissions much more efficient. Overall, Dext helps us deliver work more efficiently, improves collaboration with our clients and allows us to spend more time supporting our clients rather than carrying out manual data entry.

The receipt and invoice capture is really practical, and the integrations with Xero make the whole process much smoother. It’s one of those tools that actually reduces manual work instead of creating extra steps. I also think it’s very user-friendly for accountants which is not always easy to achieve.

One thing I dislike about Dext is that the OCR is not always consistent, especially with low-quality receipts or complex invoices, so manual corrections are still needed sometimes. Pricing can also become expensive as usage grows. I also think some workflows could be more flexible, especially when dealing with exceptions or unusual accounting cases. Also, when invoices are sent as CSV files, they usually need to be converted into PDF format before uploading, which creates an extra manual step.

As both a fractional finance director and an accountant/bookkeeper, I’ve set up Dext for a number of clients—some where the client uses it directly, and others where I use it on their behalf. Clients pick it up very easily, and it improves the quality of their work while also saving them time (often saving multiples of the subscription cost). 

The new AI Assist should improve accuracy and time savings even further.  I've had very limited need for support but Davide Grande has been a great help in seeing what can be achieved with both AI Assist and Dext Solo (for my Making Tax Digital for Tax clients).

Supplier rules are very easy to set up, and save a great deal of time as well as improving consistency/accuracy.

As a user, it's the best software for inputing invoices & bills that I've used, the processing is quick and I've never experienced any system downtime.

I heartily recommend checking this out.

I'm an accountant so always fee focused - there are aspects that, due to the size of my clients, that I refrain from using (health scores, line-by-line splitting) that I'd love to see included.  As with any software, always fearful of future price rises!

I also like the intelligent data capture, which lets us scan, email, or snap photos of clients’ receipts and invoices through the mobile app. It automates manual data entry and saves us time, is HMRC compliant, and provides real-time insights into clients’ cash flow and spending.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The mobile app feels limited and is missing several features that are available on the desktop version. Statement extraction from UK banks can be hit and miss, and the PDFs can be unreliable. Customer support response times are also too slow; it can take up to 48 hours to receive a reply, which isn’t acceptable when we have urgent bookkeeping queries. Finally, the cost of Dext can be quite high for some of our low-volume clients, and it can end up outweighing the time saved compared with other competitors.

It’s saving us a lot of time through automated document retrieval using the “fetch” feature. We also have seamless reconciliations because it automatically matches processed documents with transactions in our bank feed, especially since it’s integrated with our Xero platform. Another key benefit is that it’s HMRC-compliant for MTD, and we particularly like that it sends automated reminders to our clients, which reduces the need for us to constantly chase them for missing paperwork.

Eliminating paper, saving time. I even use it for personal expenses (I archive them so they don't go into QuickBooks). If I ever have to find a personal receipt, I just search the Dext archive.

The interface is very user-friendly, and it pulls data from invoices quite well, including any extra details (for example, what the invoice was for). I find it easy to navigate, and I’m able to have multiple windows open at the same time. Overall, it’s great.

When I update a nominal ledger code in Sage or Xero, I have to refresh the connection every time. Sometimes, if I’ve made multiple updates without realising it, I end up having to refresh three or four times.

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Dext allows me to annotate and archive financial documents for my bookkeeper. It saves me so much time and eliminates ambiguity.
It is simple to use and endlessly flexible.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Some of the new AI integrations are annoying and I think they slow the platform down. I would like to opt out of the AI if possible.
Sometimes the AI suggestions are inaccurate. I also find that the system takes longer to process documents now that it uses AI.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext is helping me minimize my interactions with my bookkeeper (who charges by the hour) - I have my chart of accounts built in to the platform and she can easily import all of my monthly annotated invoices, without having to follow up with endless questions. It has vastly improved my life, given me more time and decreased my bookkeeper's billable hours.
Dext is worth every penny!

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I use the receipt capture functionality in Dext, and what I like most is its ability to extract information from receipts and its flexibility around upload methods. It avoids me having to manually review documents, and it makes sure dates and amounts are correct. I use the rules function fairly heavily to make sure transactions get coded to the right category and the VAT treatment is correct. It definitely saves time. I have all of my clients actively use the app and the email in features for costs. I then use the rules function, coupled with the fairly new Dext AI Assist module, to make sure things get coded up correctly before they are fed into QuickBooks. Currently the rules save me the most time. For one of my clients, their P&L is fully costed out amongst employees in the business, and the rules function allows me to split costs amongst different employees. When you're splitting out to around 10 different employees, this helps massively. I also like how the client can put a description in the email and that is then visible within Dext. I have it linked up to QuickBooks and Xero. Setup was pretty intuitive, and it's easy enough to set up each new client.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

As touched on above, when setting up smart split rules, it would be good if the percentage column had some automation. I do wish that Dext had a functionality to equalize the % for each line. Currently when creating the rule, if the number of employees changes, I need to re-enter the percentage split.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext saves me from manually reviewing documents, making sure dates and amounts are correct. It extracts info from receipts and offers flexible upload methods, which saves time. The rules function lets me code transactions to the right category, get VAT treatment right, and split costs amongst employees before feeding into QuickBooks.

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Dext has really helped us streamline our clients’ processes. It’s far superior to other tools we’ve used, like Hubdoc. Over the past 13 years, we’ve also seen much greater receipt-capture accuracy.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

From a partner point of view, its the inability to control clients using Paid for abilities, like line extraction or statements. As the subscriber and payer, we should have more control of this and have the ability to switch on and off these features and possibly even setting our own caps, to avoid clients going over the top in usage. Its one part of Dext over the past few years i've not liked. We are giving clients a blank cheque and the ability to spend our money which we then need to get back from the client. And Dext is facilitiating this. There must be more control for the subscriber (Partner) to stop clients freely using paid for items on Dext. This is probably my one big issue with Dext at the moment and i have voiced this many times, but never been heard as i assume its not seen as an issue - but it makes no sense to put the liabillty on the Partner when we have no control on what our clients can do beyond our agreed subscription price (extras).

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to free up time from manual entry or using a less user friendly extraction tool.  It has saved many many hours of our time. For us as a practice, everything is setup so i simply use the App or email, then forget. Payment comes out of bank and receipt is there waiting for matching. Simple. Also, the Fetch has always been good in helping getting receipts from clients accounts that they just can't seem to get round to getting for us - this helps alot!

I use Dext to digitize and extract data from clients' costs, sales, and bank statements. I love the ease of use and the many different ways I can upload documents. It's convenient to use both in the office and on the go since we can scan documents ourselves or the client can do so from their phone, saving us man hours. Setting up Dext was super easy, just sign up for a trial and you can start immediately.

There's no way from the mobile app to upload pictures of bank statements for data extraction. That has to be done on the desktop.

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I like Dext because clients can easily upload their information, and it arrives with little fuss. It extracts data and suggests what the bill is, which is pretty useful. Setting up supplier rules and auto-publish is a huge time saver for me. These features reduce manual processing by having bills from regular suppliers published straight into our accounting software, Xero, eliminating the need for manual invoice checks. Also, the extraction and AI features brought in over the last couple of years significantly improved productivity. Overall, it's really easy for our clients to use, and it just works well for them.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I think that the overall practice visibility retrieving the data could be a little bit better. I'd like to be able to run reports and see how we're doing on the auto publish based on a previous time period. So a bit like a comparative report. So that I can see that we're going in the right direction and that percentage of auto publishing is increasing and not decreasing.

Dext eliminates paper receipts and manual data entry for bills, and setting up supplier rules has reduced my need for manual processing, saving significant time by auto-publishing directly to Xero.

I don't like how difficult it is to upload a duplicate receipt/invoice. Sometimes it is necessary to upload a duplicate but Dext flags it as a duplicate and auto archives it, which is then also hard to trace.
