# UpContent vs BuzzSumo vs Feedly for a content team comparing content curation tools that need hashtag aggregation and platform-specific features to work reliably at scale: which is worth building a curation workflow around?

Hey G2 community, we've been comparing content curation tools and the UpContent vs BuzzSumo vs Feedly comparison has been harder to settle than expected for a team that needs hashtag aggregation and platform-specific features to work reliably at scale. The more we've dug into it, the more it looks like these three tools are solving different problems, which changes the "which is worth building around" question significantly.

What makes this comparison hard to settle directly:

UpContent is a topic-based content sourcing tool; the primary function is discovery

BuzzSumo is an engagement research tool; it tells you what is performing, not what to pull into a feed

Feedly is an RSS aggregation layer for sources you have already identified

None of the three is primarily a hashtag aggregation platform, which means the scale question applies differently to each

Here is what reviewers actually describe using each one for:

UpContent: Topic and keyword discovery for sourcing third-party articles into Hootsuite and advocacy workflows; some mid-market teams note it supplements rather than replaces manual source-checking for niche industry topics.

BuzzSumo: Platform-specific engagement data across Facebook, LinkedIn, and X showing which content is getting traction; used to decide what to amplify rather than as a direct feed, with advanced features gated behind higher plans.

Feedly News Reader: Source-level monitoring with Slack and Teams integrations; reviewers describe it replacing manual site-by-site checking for known publications, covering monitoring rather than discovery.

For teams that genuinely need hashtag aggregation at volume, all three are likely the wrong primary tool for that specific function. For discovery and research feeding into a broader workflow: which of these has actually stayed in daily use, and what function does it cover that nothing else has replaced?

<p>Before picking a winner here, worth checking the shortlist against the requirement. UpContent, BuzzSumo and Feedly are article discovery tools: finding and organizing published content by topic, engagement, and source. Live hashtag aggregation at scale is a different job done by a different family, the social wall and UGC feed tools. If hashtag reliability is the make-or-break requirement, none of these three is the answer, and the workflow question splits in two: one of these for discovery, and a separate aggregation tool for the hashtag side.</p>
