"Secure, Intuitive Coder Access from Anywhere with Smooth Integrations"
What do you like best about Coder?

I really enjoy using Coder because it allows my team and me to work on our projects from any device, at any time, in a secure environment hosted in our own cloud.

The UI is very intuitive, it integrates smoothly with many of the products we already use, and the community support has been fantastic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Coder?

The pricing model could use a bit of adjustment for smaller businesses, but beyond that I don’t have much negative to say about the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong cloud dev environment that brings control and consistency"
What do you like best about Coder?

What I like most is how it creates consistent development environments for every developer. Instead of setting things up locally each time everything runs in the cloud and works the same for everyone. That removes a lot of confusion and setup time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Coder?

The setup can be complex especially if you are not familiar with infrastructure tools like Terraform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Onboarding and Development with Coder"
What do you like best about Coder?

I like how Coder simplifies the starting point with its tasks, which prep the environment for me, so I can continue developing on top of it easily. The templates are a big plus as they are easily manageable and extensible, making it easy for different teams' admins to create the necessary development environments they need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Coder?

would be great if there's more template support Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Coding with Compliance, Minor Setup Hurdles"
What do you like best about Coder?

I like that Coder helps enforce policies and maintain compliance automatically, which means fewer risks, easier audits, and a consistent standard across the team without slowing down development or sacrificing developer speed and productivity. The initial setup was also easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Coder?

Slow down edge cases or require extra effort to configure and maintain. It can sometimes trade off flexibility, speed of edge cases, and simplicity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy UI but Needs Better Workspace Management"
What do you like best about Coder?

I like that Coder supports Terraform documents and that it's easy to use. It makes it easy to spin up and spin down containerized environments in a UI that's easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Coder?

I'm unable to delete workspaces sometimes. The update workspace feature has never worked for me. It was very difficult to figure out how to set up Terraform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure, Noninvasive Kubernetes Workspaces—No Privileges or Docker Socket Needed"
What do you like best about Coder?

Coder requires no privileges or docker socket required. The Terraform provider uses the Kubernetes API, which is noninvasive and safe for multi-user environments. Sysbox also helps a lot, where it allows noninvasive docker daemon usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Coder?

The native Kubernetes coder-k8s project is something to be developed further. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Convenient Remote IDE Access, but Premium Features and Pricing Lack Transparency"
What do you like best about Coder?

This is a great solution for running virtual development environments. I appreciate having access to a complete IDE from anywhere, which makes working remotely much more convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Coder?

I understand that developers need to make a profit, but there are far too many features locked behind the premium plan. It’s also frustrating that they don’t provide any public information about pricing, which makes things even less helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Coder Transformed Our Development Workflow with Easy GPU Sharing and User-Friendly Interface"
What do you like best about Coder?

Coder has become an essential tool in our company, with more than 50 developers relying on it on a day to day basis.

The platform is extremely user-friendly. For us, having a clean user interface instead of depending on CLI commands or YAML files was a significant advantage. With just a few clicks, our developers can launch workspaces and connect using their preferred IDEs. The learning curve is minimal: any developer can get started with Coder immediately, without any prior experience.

Another feature we appreciate is the ability to create templates. We maintain various templates with all the dependencies our different teams need, updating them regularly. This ensures that no one has to waste time setting up or installing packages; as soon as a workspace is launched, everything is ready to use.

We run Coder on Kubernetes, which makes integration with standard K8s tools like Karpenter, OpenCost, Argo CD, and Prometheus straightforward. The setup process was also simple. Deploying Coder using the provided documentation and Helm chart in Kubernetes was quick and smooth.

Even though we’re using the Community Edition, their support through Discord has been great, whenever we’ve asked a question the team has always replied and helped us out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Coder?

Certain features that would be particularly useful for our needs are not yet fully developed or tailored to our requirements. For instance, our workflow depends significantly on GPU workloads, and we were hoping to utilize DevContainers. However, at this time, DevContainers do not offer GPU isolation in a manner compatible with our environment. Additionally, we make extensive use of Docker. Although we succeeded in building a template that enables us to run Docker with GPU isolation within a workspace, achieving this setup required considerable effort and the solution is still not completely reliable. "Easy, Scalable, and Ideal for Developers"
What do you like best about Coder?

I like that Coder is easy and fast. I find that the basic idea is very good. Additionally, it was quite simple to set up and I appreciate that it offers IDE and workspace in a very scalable context. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Coder?

The creation of custom templates is an area I would improve. Also, the use of agents and the documentation on how to use custom agents could be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
