I use Coder to manage cloud development and AI coding agents. I really like the security and governance features, especially since it can be self-hosted and we have the option to air-gap it if needed. The AI governance part is helpful for us as it ensures everything stays secure, which is important since we're not a tech company. Having a platform that helps with security is really valuable because it means we don't have to worry too much about it.

I love how I can access a fully configured development environment from any device instantly with Coder. It saves me a ton of time and keeps my workflow consistent across different machines. Using Coder eliminates the hassle of managing different software versions and environment conflicts on my personal laptop, which makes it easy to jump straight into coding without any setup headaches. Having a pre-configured environment means I never have to spend hours installing dependencies or debugging setup issues. Additionally, the initial setup was fairly straightforward—getting my first workspace up and running didn't take long, though having some prior knowledge of development environments definitely helps.

Once the actual work spaces have been properly configured and are operational, they simply operate. No longer will there ever be an argument of "it works on my machine", as everybody will be pulling from the same environment and that by itself will save you many hours of discussion with the rest of the development team. It is very loud in here today, and that really is making it hard for me to think; however, I would say that coder has been one of those programs where after you deal with all of the initial headaches you tend to forget it is even installed. Once you learn how to use it, you can easily create a standardized development space for a new developer, and he/she will be able to begin developing right away.
