## Island Reviews
  ### 1. Strong Security and Control for Safe, Isolated Access

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avijit S. | Associate technical support, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Island?**

What I like most about Island is its strong security and the level of control it gives me. It lets me access Active Directory securely through Microsoft RDP while keeping my work data isolated from everything else. I also really value the built-in protections that help prevent screenshots, screen recording, and other types of data leakage.

**What do you dislike about Island?**

One thing I don’t like is that the security features can sometimes feel overly restrictive for day-to-day work. Simple actions like copy-paste, screen sharing, or quick data transfers can become inconvenient, and they end up slowing me down. I think the overall experience would be much smoother with more flexible controls—ideally role-based options—so the restrictions align better with what different users actually need.

**What problems is Island solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Island meets the need to securely access company systems like Active Directory over Microsoft RDP, without adding extra risk of data leakage or blurring the boundary between work and personal use. For me, the biggest advantage is how clearly it keeps my work environment isolated from everything else, so I can stay focused on work without mixing it with my personal browsing. It also helps protect sensitive information by enforcing restrictions such as blocking copy-paste and screenshots, while still allowing me to work smoothly and efficiently.

  ### 2. Island Makes Work Easy and Plays Great with Global Protect

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** LaShunda H. | Modsquad Contractor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Island?**

The island makes working in it easy. Some projects require Global Protect, and they work great together. The other thing I like about Island is being able to add multiple companies

**What do you dislike about Island?**

It's easy to access. An authenticator can be used to protect your account. It is sleek and proficient; all of my employers use it because it has added security, and it pairs well with Global Protect. Using Google, Zoom, Copiot and chat is easy to use and integrates into your work.

**What problems is Island solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping accounts protected, security for business needs, protecting clients' information, making work accessible, and making screenshare is to use in other apps.

  ### 3. Flexible, All-in-One Browser

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Outsourcing/Offshoring | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Island?**

Its flexibility stands out. It allows organization administrators to seamlessly manage browser rules and policies by group. It also offers advanced, all-in-one features that you’d otherwise need multiple different solutions combined to get.

**What do you dislike about Island?**

I like how it prioritizes rules and policies, but it can be hard to manage them when there are conflicting policies that may look identical at first, yet have one key difference that makes things complicated. Right now, it seems to base the priority of rules and policies on their order, and I hope this can be improved in the future so it’s easier to handle and understand.

**What problems is Island solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves some of our problems, especially by letting us control what data can and cannot leave the browser. It gives us the oversight we need so that any unauthorized or prohibited activities, particularly those involving sensitive data, are properly managed and prevented when necessary.

Another issue it addresses is its ability to block the use of other browsers that users may have installed on their own. This helps keep the environment safe at all times!

  ### 4. Secure, Fast Chromium-Based Browser with Chrome-Like Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pratik kadam K. | Clinical Data Associate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Island?**

Island is secure browser and as safe and fast as google chrome with same features as it is based on chromium

**What do you dislike about Island?**

It don't support many extensions as chrome or microsoft edge and it's UI is not good as edge

**What problems is Island solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Island is solving security and access control issues as our client has opted for it and also it is well integrated with chrome and other business apps

  ### 5. Seamless Remote Access and Deployment, Excellent Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick W.

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Island?**

I appreciate Island's ability to simplify the setup process for us, which was not difficult at all due to the comprehensive support provided. The excellent support we received made the whole experience of setting up our tenant easy and smooth. I also find the security features extremely useful, ensuring that our systems remain secure while enabling a variety of use cases, especially for remote access to internal secure systems. The easy configuration of new services is another highlight, allowing us to onboard new personnel seamlessly, especially those working remotely, without needing to provide them with hardware. This has significantly reduced our time to deployment and removed the need to maintain remotely housed hardware. Furthermore, Island efficiently solves the problem of remote access for support organizations, unifying the support experience and making it simpler to deploy access services to our vendors. These capabilities not only simplify the support team's tasks but also enhance the overall efficiency of our operations. Additionally, the opportunities Island provides us to deploy services quickly are invaluable, compelling enough for me to consider buying it again. On a scale of 1 to 10, I confidently recommend Island as a 10 for others, particularly when I see that it can effectively fill gaps when compared to other vendors.

**What do you dislike about Island?**

I would like the Island browser RDP client to have the same capability as the Microsoft desktop RDP client. There are some features missing from the Island client that I would like to see.

**What problems is Island solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use the product to deploy new services quickly and provide remote access without hardware, simplifying support and reducing deployment time.

  ### 6. Seamless Security and Familiar Browsing—Island Delivers Enterprise-Grade Protection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Island?**

What stands out most about Island is how seamlessly it combines enterprise-grade security controls with a familiar, Chromium-based browsing experience.
The most helpful aspect of Island is the built-in security and management capabilities that eliminate the need for complex endpoint configurations.
Upsides of Using Island: User Experience / Visibility & Insights / Scalability

**What do you dislike about Island?**

Honestly, it’s difficult to find something to truly dislike about Island. Every time I’ve encountered an issue or had a feature request, the Island team has gone above and beyond to help — often working tirelessly to find a workaround or develop a long-term solution. On the rare occasion they don’t have an immediate fix, they follow up within days with one.

If I had to identify areas for improvement, I’d suggest expanding the search functionality in the management console and adding more detailed information to the user activity map, such as the ability to filter or refresh it by specific time frames. Additionally, when troubleshooting policy violations, it would be helpful if the system provided more detailed explanations for why an action was blocked, rather than just stating that it violated a policy.

**What problems is Island solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Island has solved several critical challenges for our organization, especially around secure browsing, visibility, and control. Before Island, ensuring safe access to business applications from personal or unmanaged devices was complex and risky. With Island, we now have secure, policy-driven access for all users — employees, contractors, and partners — without compromising usability.

As a CISO, I appreciate having a centralized management dashboard that gives me full visibility into users, devices, and activities. The DLP policies and workflows are exceptional, allowing us to prevent data loss while maintaining a smooth user experience.

Another major benefit is the ability to run legacy applications without needing outdated browser versions, which simplifies IT maintenance and reduces risk. The platform also supports certificate-based access and SSH capabilities, providing secure and monitored connections for network users.

Island has also improved communication and user engagement — we can easily post news and announcements to all users and even customize homepages by department or role. Overall, Island combines security, flexibility, and simplicity, making it one of the most effective tools we’ve implemented for protecting our digital workspace.

  ### 14. If you have the budget and the buy-in, Island is a no-brainer.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark M. | Director, Infrastructure & Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Island?**

Island is a game-changer in the world of web browsing solutions, offering a seamless experience that combines ease of use with rapid innovation. As a user, I've found it incredibly intuitive right from the start. The interface is clean, well-organized, and doesn't overwhelm with unnecessary features. Navigating through tabs and managing bookmarks is a breeze, making it ideal for both novice and experienced users alike.

One of the most impressive aspects of Island is their commitment to innovation. Updates and new features are rolled out with remarkable speed, ensuring that users always have access to the latest advancements. Whether it's enhanced security measures, improved performance optimizations or compatibility with emerging technologies, Island Enterprise Browser stays ahead of the curve.

I highly recommend Island to anyone seeking a reliable, innovative and, above all else, secure browsing solution.

**What do you dislike about Island?**

Not much to say here except that I wish it was easier to convince end-users to get onboard; as it's more of an emerging technology, folks tend to need additional handholding to get comfortable.

**What problems is Island solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Island has helped our organization confidently secure sensitive information in a partially-BYOD, fully remote, end-user environment as well as add flexibility and a pinch of redundancy in the event any endpoint incurs problems.

  ### 15. Great solution, strong technical support and engineering, marred by sales challenges

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hieu G. | Principal Systems and Messaging Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Island?**

Island browser stands out for its enterprise security controls, seamless integration with existing systems like SSO, CrowdStrike, and AWS, and its balance between robust security and user-friendly experience. The browser's customizability and real-time security enforcement give us greater control over data and protection against threats. Island's support and engineering teams are highly responsive, offering excellent assistance throughout the process, from proof of concept to multiple pilots to production and even incorporating customer feedback into their product roadmap.

**What do you dislike about Island?**

The sales experience could be improved, as unexpected additional 'fees' detracted from an otherwise stellar technical experience after the contract was signed. Overall, while the engineering and support teams excel, a more transparent and collaborative approach from sales would enhance the buildng of a partnership.

**What problems is Island solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing secure web experiences for our multiple use cases and enabling scalability, while eliminating the logistics and fulfillment challenges associated with traditional laptop shipping.

**What do you like best about Island?**

Island makes it easy to implement basic protections for data without a ton of user training. The ability to set last mile controls, different risk profiles and rules for different team member roles, and control where data is downloaded and uploaded, and simply deploy a browser for people to use is a game-changer.

**Reviewed by:** Bhargav S. | Research Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Island?**

The experience feels pretty self-contrained. I was surprised that I enjoyed using a browser other than Chrome, but it is not so bad compared to Explorer, Edge or Firefox.

**What do you dislike about Island?**

It feels a little silly to be switching to an entirely new environment just for work (since I am unlikely to give up Chrome and my Chrome extensions for personal use).
