I appreciate how Cegid HR creates a shared space for cross-branch hiring collaboration, perfectly matching our multi-location library operation at Maple Community Library Services. I love how straightforward it is to assign tailored role permissions. I can grant each branch manager access only to vacancies at their library, so they review relevant candidates without seeing unrelated hiring information. Before we switched over from ClayHR, I forwarded all interview feedback to every supervisor via email. Last winter, we were hiring two youth librarians, and I accidentally mixed up feedback from two different applicants. That confusion delayed our hiring decision for nearly a week. Now all comments attach directly to candidate profiles, and these costly mix-ups no longer happen. The built-in pre-boarding workflows are another standout feature. I bundle library policy documents, safety training agreements and background check consent into automated task lists sent to successful candidates. The most recurring frustration I have with Cegid HR is inconsistent access issues, which constantly disrupt hiring work for our distributed library teams. Many of our branch supervisors are part-time staff with unstable branch internet connections. Last month, we held a hiring committee meeting for a circulation assistant position. One part-time manager could not log in and load candidate profiles at all. We had to exchange screenshots through email, falling back to the disjointed workflow we adopted Cegid HR to eliminate. I also find the reporting capabilities severely limited. Our leadership frequently asks for recruitment data separated by individual library branches, yet the system cannot filter reports by location. Every quarter, I export raw CSV files and manually organize data in spreadsheets. This repetitive work occupies several hours I could spend on other HR tasks. There is no native integration between Cegid HR and HRSprout, our primary HR system for permanent employee records and leave management. All new hire information must be copied over manually after offer acceptance. During our busy summer hiring wave last year, I rushed through data entry and typed an incorrect emergency contact number for a newly hired librarian. I only discovered the error weeks later. I can clearly recall one stressful incident: we were recruiting seasonal staff for summer reading programs, and one branch supervisor sent interview notes to my inbox that I overlooked for multiple days. We almost missed scheduling follow-up interviews and risked losing promising temporary applicants. Cegid HR centralizes all recruitment activities in one platform. Every screening note, interview evaluation and offer status lives alongside candidate profiles, which drastically reduces fragmented communication between library branches. The structured pre-boarding workflows move piles of compliance paperwork out of my inbox and distribute tasks to new hires in advance. The main dashboard provides instant visibility over open roles, supporting more reliable seasonal staffing planning. Admittedly, unstable access and limited reporting still create extra workarounds.
