What do you like best about AWS Lambda?

AWS Lambda is very easy to setup & deploy serverless computing platform. AWS Lambda supports large variety of language including Node.js, Java, C#, etc. After deploying application to Lambda, developer does not need to worry about scaling & concurrency. Cost can be reduced drastically as we do not need to keep server up & running 24x7. It is pay per use model, which is great. Can be best used for Microservice deployment. What do you dislike about AWS Lambda?

If code size is more that 30 mb, Online code editor is not supported.

Need to improve little bit on debugging facility. Resolving issue on lambda by checking Cloudwatch log & uploading new code is a pain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about AWS Lambda?

I have been working on Lambda for more than 2 years. There was a task assign to me was to create AMI backup for daily bases and delete them after 15 days. I was wondering how to do that in a cost-saving way, then I come to know about Lamda, It really made my day, just execute the code on time. No need to create an instance for a code to run in a specific time, Just create a lambda function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Lambda?

There may be something people don't like about Aws lambda like the memory range is limited. But there is a lot you can do with such range. Also for some people code, deployment packages may be a reason for concern due to its limited size to 50mb only. There is a lot to say about lambda,

1.We are using to carete AMI backup, to shutdown or start Instance at a specific period of time.

2. To create snapshot of Instances and delete them at a prticular time.

3. The automation is really easy with lots of options

4.You can write your code in multiple programming languages.

5.To create custom alrams.

6.Auto scaling Instance count.

7.Serverless computing is really helpful to cost cutting as well.

What do you like best about AWS Lambda?

I like about most in lambda is It supports many languages like nodejs, python, java. You can host your mini server there which requires a not more amount of processing. I have found that it is very cheaper compares to others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Best Part about Lambda is They provide 1M free requests in Month. You can choose AWS lambda when there is little processing and you do not want make server resources occupied with it. You can just use this Lambda and it will do great work for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have been developing RES apis for the product which I am developing. which needs to only process the JSON file structure and according to logic defined respond to client. "Steep Learning Curve But Worth It"

What do you like best about AWS Lambda?

I'm a huge fan of AWS Lambda; specifically that once you understand how it all works, you can offload CPU or RAM intensive workloads from virtual machines over to Lambda, and drastically improve performance. Oh, and did I mention that I have never managed to make it beyond the FREE tier in a given month? So that's pretty amazing value! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Lambda?

Lambda can take a little bit of effort to get up and run the first time around, but after a few deployments, it's pretty simple. Also, keep in mind that AWS is deprecating support for Node v6.X, so you should develop your Lambda functions in 8.X at a minimum. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering AWS Lambda:

I know there are plenty of alternatives out there for serverless computing, but AWS Lambda has been around for quite a while, and is therefore extremely well documented and supported. For simplicity, I use Twilio Functions as well, but they are quite a bit more expensive than AWS. One thing that helped me significantly was to take the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate course on Udemy, which walks you through the process of setting up a Lambda function. What problems is AWS Lambda solving and how is that benefiting you?

My application needs images resized a few times; one to standardize the image size, then again to convert it to a thumbnail. It was causing CPU and RAM to skyrocket when converting multiple images simultaneously until I moved the workload over to Lambda.
