I liked AWS lambda because AWS Lambda functions gives the flexibility to decouple application’s code from server architecture and create a more resilient, lower-cost application. also you spend less amount of time on server operational issues and focus more on actual product development .

There are not many disadvantages of Lambda but some of them are as follow.

1) The main disadvantage of server-less computing is we have to sacrifice some control over the execution environment and execution length because there is no physical server present for application.

2) Lambda functions are complex compared to traditional ones.

3) Lambda functions are time boxed and only have 3 seconds of default time for script execution

Which can create problems some times (however we can increase this execution time) but it can be

disadvantage of AWS lambda functions over traditional server based application which handles

It is extremely easy to implement a lambda function in almost any programming language. In addition, the integration with Mvc.Net allows you to publish a Rest API without the need to use code dependent on Aws SDK. The escalation is nearly infinite. You can be sure if tomorrow your API is going to suffer thousands of request per minute, is not going to be a problem (well, maybe for your wallet... but this is another topic) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In .Net, when time passes without any request being made, the service shuts down and takes a few seconds to start. If there are many dependencies between different services that make calls to each other this can become high time for some users. Alexa self-hosted skills use internally lambda functions, but when you create one you cannot see it in your AWS account. It would be nice to see in order to manage and capture more detailed errors. AWS Lambda is definitely going to change the Serveless Cloud landscape.We reduced our server cost by about 40x for Online ML predictions. We get around million requests free for Lambda!!

Lamda offers configurable memory/CPU which makes it easy to run different kinds of snippets. It supports over 10 programming languages! All the logs are visible in console and can be traced. We can monitor the API requests to adjust our budget and memory. I haven't tried Google Functions which is similar but I'm happy using lambda.

1. Lots of configurations to be made if we want to run a heavy application ( Like ML predictions). Use library like Zappa for python for easy setup.

AWS Lamda is powerful ,with couple of lines we can build a great functionality. It will create environment for running a function and after completion of task it will automatically destroys the infrastructure.I like AWS lambda due to it is easy to build, and faster, Scalable , easily deploy-able and easily integrated with cloud watch events.Every cloud application will must have atleast one lamda function. Really I dont have any dislike but sometimes I feel lambda timeout period is very less. But later I learned when I expect task will take more time then we should go with AWS Batch service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
