"Strong campaign automation and AI-assisted email drafting, but AI can be generic"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I love how Marketo Engage helped us automate and scale cross-channel campaigns by streamlining audience segmentation, email workflows, lead nurturing, and campaign scheduling. The AI was especially helpful when I was building a marketing campaign and needed to quickly generate and polish email content for different audience segments. It offered useful variations and saved me time during the early drafting phase, and the AI-assisted personalization/content optimization helped tailor messaging to different segments and engagement patterns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

Some AI suggestions felt too generic and didn’t fully fit our campaign context, so I still needed to review the text and tailor the output before using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Automation, But Complex Interface"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I really like how flexible the automation is in Adobe Marketo Engage. I can build targeted campaigns, personalize follow-ups, and manage different audiences efficiently without having to do everything manually. The email automation, lead scoring, segmentation, and campaign analytics are the features I value most. They make it easier to target the right prospects, automate follow-ups, and quickly see what is working. This definitely saves me time by reducing repetitive follow-ups and keeps everything organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The interface can feel a bit complex at first, and some workflows take time to setup. Reporting could also be more intuitive and easier to customize. The initial setup was a bit of a learning curve, and getting the integration and automation rules right required some trial and error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful automation and analytics, but still a lot of manual QA and upkeep"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

Marketo scales cross-channel campaigns massively, as long as you accept it’s not magic and humans still have to build and babysit the machinery. Nurture Streams can run on autopilot once you map them out, and Smart Audiences mean no more exporting CSVs because dynamic lists pull in exactly who you need. I also see User, Role, and Access Management as the ultimate guardrails, Email Building as the handshake with the customer (including dynamic content blocks for real personalization), and Campaign Analytics as the truth teller so you’re not driving blindfolded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

A lot still feels painfully manual. Campaign QA is a grind: you still have to click every link, test every trigger, and send yourself a ton of test emails so a typo doesn’t blast out to 50,000 people. Data cleaning doesn’t go away either, if your database is messy you still have to build the data-washing workflows. And the platform can’t do the creative stuff like writing copy, designing layout, or coming up with strategy. On the AI side, I’ve run into “hallucination” moments where something looks flawless but is fabricated and breaks when tested. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helpful automation and personalization, but complex for advanced emails and testing"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

These features were helpful for me because they streamlined my email campaigns and made them more personalized to customers. Manage Email Deliverability ensured that emails were correctly configured and more likely to be delivered to recipients. Automated Email Responses reduced time spent by providing automatic follow-up response emails, and Dynamic Content was particularly beneficial in tailoring emails to various groups of people. The AI tools were also helpful for generating email content ideas and giving me a head start quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

Sometimes these features can be more complex than they should be. Creating and customizing emails isn't that difficult for simple emails, but more complicated personalization or formatting can take quite a bit of time. A/B testing can be cumbersome with additional setup and monitoring, especially when I need to figure out why the higher-performing variant worked better. Conversion rate optimization can also feel like trial and error because it's hard to know what is working and what isn't. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Automation with a Steep Learning Curve"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I really appreciate the automation that Adobe Marketo Engage provides. Once I set up a campaign, it saves me a ton of manual work. The platform also offers impressive flexibility in managing audiences, allowing for superb segmentation. This flexibility lets me tailor campaigns to different audience needs and easily modify setups as requirements change. I also value the ability to generate reports and track campaign performance, which helps in evaluating the effectiveness of our marketing efforts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The learning curve is probably the biggest issue for me. There are quite a few options and settings, so it can take time to understand everything properly. Some areas of the interface also feel a little outdated and could be more intuitive. Reporting could be simpler as well, especially when trying to get quick insights. The main impact is that setting up or changing campaigns can sometimes take longer than expected, especially when I'm working with more complex workflows. I'd like a cleaner interface and simpler navigation. Better reporting dashboards and easier troubleshooting would also help me quickly understand what went wrong without going through multiple screens. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for scalable email drips and reliable scoring but reporting feels clunky"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

honestly it made setting up email drips and triggered operational campaigns a lot easier to scale across our teams. our lead scoring is way more reliable now than it used to be. we can set up explicit scores based on content downloads or even just specific web page visits, which helps us automatically push sales-ready leads straight to the crm instead of marketing having to filter them out manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

the main issue is that connecting our paid social channels and tracking offline events still takes a good amount of manual work and checking to keep the data clean, so it isn't fully seamless. building assets like landing pages and templates feels clunky and stiff compared to modern tools unless you have a developer to code them. also native reporting is pretty basic. "Powerful Automation, Clunky Interface"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I love how Adobe Marketo Engage handles extreme complexity without breaking a sweat. It lets me build incredibly sophisticated, branching nurture tracks based on subtle behavioral triggers and deep firmographic data. The Smart Campaigns and Smart Lists are particularly valuable because they allow me to dynamically segment audiences and trigger automated actions based on real-time behavior, all without having to rebuild lists manually—it's an absolute powerhouse. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The user interface feels like it was designed by a committee of engineers in 2012. It's clunky, painfully slow to navigate, and has a steep learning curve. Training a junior marketer on Adobe Marketo Engage takes weeks, and simple tasks often require far too many clicks. Additionally, the initial setup was sometimes confusing, but not very hard. "Strong for lead nurturing and cross-channel automation, but integrations and sync can be frustrating"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I like that it helps me automate repetitive marketing workflows, nurture leads with timely and personalized engagement, and reach customers consistently across multiple channels. It made it easier to manage campaigns across different channels and automate repetitive work, and it also made it easier to organize and prioritize leads. The AI features helped me create and refine marketing content and saved some time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

Integration APIs require more technical knowledge and troubleshooting. Data synchronization can be frustrating when updates are delayed or when there’s inconsistent data across the system. I also wish Marketo had a better AI copilot for day-to-day tasks like searching within our content, creating campaigns, and writing for it. Even when automating, I still had to handle some parts manually, especially when making changes or troubleshooting, and the AI output still needed review and a few changes before using it. "Strong cross-channel automation with significantly improved lead readiness"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The biggest advantage is the ability to combine global Program Tokens with highly targeted Smart Lists. Our operations team can build a sophisticated, multi-layered campaign once, turn key variables into tokens, and quickly replicate the entire setup across regions or product lines—all while preserving the underlying behavioral triggers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The native landing page and form builders are too reliant on custom HTML, making it difficult to create modern, polished experiences quickly. Their rigid structure and complex logic also make even minor campaign changes unnecessarily dependent on certified specialists, slowing down execution and limiting the ability of non-technical team members to work independently. "Massive time saver for building emails, deliverability, and automated responses"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

Building and Personalizing Emails, Sending Outbound Emails, and Manage Email Deliverability are massive to our day to day in saving time within our workflow. Being able to automate certain emails and responses helps us stay organized, keep everything very tidy, and spend time working on other tasks. Overall, these tools are massive time savers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

There can be certain emails that get automated responses that you actually do need to look at, and it would be nice to have an urgency type of notification when something needs to be touched by a human. That is my one quarrel but overall not really a problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
