## Grain Reviews
 ### 1. Grain is a must-have tool for any customer-facing team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maksym P. | CSM, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The AI-generated meeting summaries save me hours every week — instead of scrambling to take notes during customer onboarding sessions and internal syncs, Grain automatically captures everything and structures it into clear decisions and action items, so I can stay fully present in every conversation. The UI is clean and intuitive, making it easy to navigate recordings, find key moments, and share clips without any learning curve. The AI intelligence behind the summaries is impressively accurate — it correctly identifies speakers, captures technical details, and organizes follow-ups in a way that actually mirrors how I'd write my own notes. Grain also integrates seamlessly into our existing workflow — sharing recording links directly with customers after onboarding calls has been an unexpected but hugely valuable benefit. Performance-wise, recordings load quickly and summaries are ready almost immediately after the call ends. For the value it delivers, the pricing is very reasonable — it's essentially replaced the need for a dedicated note-taker on our team. The onboarding experience was smooth and the support team is responsive whenever we've had questions.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The search functionality within recordings could be a bit more refined — sometimes finding a specific moment across multiple meetings takes a few extra clicks. Would love to see that improved, but it's a minor inconvenience given how much value the rest of the tool provides.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Grain, keeping track of everything discussed across multiple customer onboarding sessions, expert sessions, and internal team meetings was a real challenge — important details, action items, and decisions would sometimes get lost or require digging through personal notes after the fact. Grain solves this completely. Every meeting is automatically recorded, transcribed, and summarized, so I always have a reliable source of truth to reference when following up with customers or updating my team. It's also made async collaboration significantly easier — teammates who miss a weekly sync can catch up on the summary in minutes rather than needing a separate debrief. For customer-facing work specifically, being able to share a recording link directly with customers after onboarding calls has improved the overall experience and reduced back-and-forth follow-up emails. Overall, Grain has made me a more organized, efficient, and present teammate and customer success manager.

 ### 2. Grain Is Indispensable for My Content Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love so many things about Grain! 1 - The layout of transcript and video make it really easy to jump around and find what you need. 2 - The interactive transcript that automatically pulls the video to the point in the transcript; because sometimes you need to revisit the actual conversation and not just the words. 3 - The clips feature, which we use for impromptu social media clips; being able to clip directly from the transcript is amazing. 4 - The new integration with Claude is fabulous and has made things much easier for pulling in files, updating meeting notes, etc.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I would like the option to receive a link to the transcript directly via email, but the Claude integration has solved some of that for me.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us capture our conversations with clients, reduces the need to take extensive notes so we can be more present on our calls, helps us share context within our team, gives us light video capabilities where we previously had none.

 ### 3. Great Video and Audio Research Repository with Playlists and Transcriptions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Garred S. | Market Research and Insights Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I like that I can store all of our research videos into specific playlists and that I can access them with the transcriptions quickly. I can search words within the transcription and then can highlight specific sections to make smaller video snippets.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Like most tools when Grain is recording it takes up a space in our Google Meet which can take up the screen space for the interview at times. Luckily this does not show up in the recording, but is more of an annoyance at the time of the recording. It would be nice if Grain notified that it was recording and then could minimize so it's not seen.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Grain to record research interviews, focus groups, etc. It has become our video repository of all research we conduct. We can upload other video and audio files that didn't get recorded with Grain as well.

 ### 4. When my Brain hurts - Grain helps.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angus F. | Sales, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain is a fantastic platform that I have been looking for throughout my career in Sales. Being able to have a second digital brain that captures all the information from my calls and distill that information down to details to drive business forward - has been a game changer.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

There has not been anything so far that has caused me any headaches with Grain. They've been great to deal with

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain captures infinite information during my calls - and has proven invaluable time and time again for not only driving business forward - but also for post mortem or deal review with reps

 ### 5. Grain worked great for us for a while, but eventually become obsolete and frustrating

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I wasn't looking for anything fancy, so to me, the most important thing is that Grain's transcription quality is good compared to the other tools I tested. It is surprisingly accurate in multiple languages.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I was very disappointed when they eliminated the option to add non-recorder users. This was one of the reasons why we chose Grain and now we'd need to pay for a whole additional seat for colleauges that only are going to view videos and check highlights. Certain aspects of the interface and adding highlights to stories can be clunky. UPDATE: It was incredibly frustrating to find that, upon downgrading our subscription, we were locked out of our own meetings/recordings. I work at another SaaS and, no matter what plan our customers are on, we believe that they are always the owners and in control of their own data and content. It's just wild to me that a tool would lock you out of the content you have created. I told them I was planning on deleting the account and wanted to export my recordings beforehand, and Grain said I had to pay for a whole month of a superior plan first in order to export MY OWN meeting transcripts.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One-to-one demos are an essential part of our sales process and have proven key in converting new customers. We realized that these meetings also hold a huge amount of marketing intel for us, and we weren't capitalizing on that. We now record all of these demos and use Grain's highlights and stories features to collect info on customer needs, pain points, competitor strengths (and weaknesses), and marketing opportunities. We've integrated with Zoom and spreadsheets to make this whole process pretty seamless and to convert this large pool of data into a more digestible format that can be shared with other colleagues and teams. UPDATE: Since I wrote this review, all of these processes can now easily be done with AI, and at least in that case, I am in full control of my own content and data.

 ### 6. Seamless Integrations, Rapid Feature Updates, and Excellent AI Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will R. | Head of Customer Success, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Grain?**

It integrates so well with all my systems, the rate of feature development is awesome, and the AI tools are excellent!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I just wish there was an easy way to bulk export call transcripts!

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain ensure we have accurate, organized notes on all our client calls. It helps me track action items coming out of those calls and easily extract info from them.

 ### 7. Automate Meetings with Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martina F. | Project Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I like that Grain automatically joins calls without changing apps and that the summaries and action points are often very accurate and require little revision. Additionally, the initial setup was very simple.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

it is not always very clear how to manage access permissions to the recordings

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have to take notes by hand constantly; Grain marks the key points and provides accurate summaries. It integrates automatically with meetings without changing applications.

 ### 8. Best-in-Class Meeting Transcriptions with Native AI Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devin M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Best transcription that comes out of meetings that I've tried. AI-centric download abilities. Native AI intregrations.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I wish the recorder would join 2 minutes early.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of all my meetings! I'd be lost without it

 ### 9. Delivers on the promise

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Grain?**

easy to use, great recording + transcription, native AI "Ask Grain"

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Not much, it does what we need and meets expectations

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

meeting recording + summarization + key takeaways + tasks all integrated into our CRM

 ### 10. Game changer for productivity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Grain?**

We're primarily using Grain to capture custom notes and action items from internal conversations. Honestly the clip sharing and meeting collaboration has been really great for our internal discussions. But I could see how using Grain's clips & stories would also be perfect for amplifying provider/customer voices across teams. They also have a Glean integration, ChatGPT MCP integration, & robust API that basically allows us to turn meeting data into accessible data we can actually analyze. That raw data access is extremely appealing for our team. Bonus: the desktop app actually helps me join meetings on time, and it's so easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Nothing I would change. I really like how responsive they are to feedback and quick to make improvements!

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We chose Grain instead of using Gemini or pushing for approval on Zoom transcriptions, because the main differentiators are:
- recall (search, cross-call AI, Glean integration)
- workflow integrations (Zapier, Slack, chatGPT)
- organizational structure (filterable library)
Zoom or Gemini transcriptions create "lost in space" artifacts. When you generate meeting transcripts or notes in those platforms, that content exists in isolation without connection to the broader organizational structure.

Grain provides meetings as structured data within an organized repository, which becomes incredibly valuable when you need to find things or for workflows - like integrating into Zapier and ChatGPT.

The recall functionality is much more robust as a searchable knowledge base. I can use it to find all conversations about a specific project, pull up discussions with certain clients, or surface insights made across multiple calls. There’s also the ability to string together clips into longer videos.

 ### 11. Great for Recording Calls Anywhere, but AI Review Tools Need Work

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain is great for recording meetings and calls with any video platform service.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Review/ AI tooling could be better with Grain.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is great to have recordings of calls with providers and clients that I can reference. I'd love to be able to get more suggestions from these calls.

 ### 12. Way more than a meeting recorder, Grain is a Game-Changer!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colleen M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain allows us to quickly & easily review, analyze, and share the key moments that matter most to our clients and team development. The automated insights and coaching capabilities have been invaluable in driving growth and refining our strategies for both client coaching and team development.

We have a lot of neurodivergent team members & clients so we use grain for every single call even one offs or impromptu calls (those are where the magic happens half the time). We really love how Grain allows us to stay fully engaged in our calls, knowing we can easily revisit details whenever needed.

Their support team has been really awesome and communicative whenever we have questions.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

If you use hubspot its got a native integration, alas, I do not use hubspot so I gotta do a bit more work to get the recaps etc integrated into my client notes & other automations. Thats really the only dislike and its not even a biggie.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prevents Loss of Ideas and Insights, Improves Coaching and Feedback, Increases Efficiency, Enhances Accountability and Clarity, Boosts Productivity in Follow-Up. Overall, Grain is a powerhouse for my company's operations, ensuring that we’re organized, accountable, and continually improving our service—making it a key asset in delivering top-notch client experiences and empowering our team.

 ### 13. Enriching our CRM with High-Value Analytics and Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles W. | Co Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain has been a fantastic addition to our toolkit, particularly due to its smooth integration with HubSpot, which significantly simplifies our workflow. The option to pull in Zoom cloud recordings without the need for an assistant to join every call is a brilliant feature, allowing us to record key information unobtrusively. Grain’s approach of delivering essential functionality at a fraction of the cost of other platforms like Gong is a huge benefit, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that need robust call recording, sentiment analysis, and workflow insights without the hefty price tag. The customisable templates and smart tags are excellent for tailoring the software to our specific needs, making it easier to track important phrases and outcomes in client conversations.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

There are a few limitations with phrase recognition in smart tags, which can make it challenging to capture specific phrases consistently across calls. It would also be helpful to see more options for currency and regional language support, as these would make the platform even more user-friendly for non-U.S. markets, especially in terms of UK English nuances.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main benefit of using Grain for us is its ability to capture valuable insights and intelligence from our calls and seamlessly push this information into the appropriate sections of our CRM. This automation saves us time and ensures that key details are accurately logged, enhancing our ability to follow up effectively and maintain well-informed, data-driven interactions with clients. Grain’s integration with HubSpot has streamlined our workflow, allowing us to focus more on the quality of our client relationships and less on manual data entry.

 ### 14. Easy Adapation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda C. | Sales Analysis, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I found Grain very easy to adapt and implement in our company. Zach was very responsive to my questions during our trial and we could use it out of the box. It was easy to create new templates and our team has learned greatly from the coaching feature. We integrated Grain with out HubSpot account and already have seen great improvement in our data.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The integration with HubSpot is simple, for meetings you are not able to different a meeting from a call,

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Grain we had no visibilty on the meetings we were having with our clients. We have been able to not only see the meetings now but use the coaching feature to identify weaknesses with our sales team. We saw that our team was not ending meetings with scheduling a follow-up m meeting so we were able to fix that.

 ### 15. Essential Tool for Sales and Customer Meeting Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Louis G. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain has become a critical part of our platform stack, significantly enhancing our workflow for sales and customer meetings. We've been recording all our meetings through Grain, and its ability to produce accurate summaries and detailed transcripts has streamlined our processes immensely.

Not only does Grain save us time by generating summaries, but it also helps us create valuable assets and proposals directly from meeting content. This has improved the speed and quality of our follow-ups, ensuring we never miss a detail.

The platform is intuitive, reliable, and seamlessly integrates into our workflow. Grain has truly transformed how we approach meeting documentation and follow-up tasks. I highly recommend it to any team looking to maximize efficiency and make the most out of their meeting data.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I have been wanting to do more with its API but haven't gotten around to it. It would be nice to be able to use the AI outputs to store in my project management tool so that I can take actions from meetings.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One major benefit of using Grain is the ability to review past client meetings and quickly get up to speed on what has transpired. This has proven particularly valuable when clients ask about events or discussions from months ago. With Grain, we can easily revisit past meetings and provide a clear, detailed picture of what occurred, ensuring accurate and reliable communication.

 ### 16. Brilliant - it works SO well, try it and love it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will F. | Head of IT & InfoSec, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The AI is really smart, it always knows whats the preamble and non-work related chat in meetings and doesnt bother summarising them. And the notes it generates are really really good, better than competitors that I've tried such as Fathom and Gemini Notes in Google Meet.

The integration with Google calendar is perfect, and the ability to upload recordings later without having to add in the meeting bot is great if customer or participant doesnt like the idea of an AI bot being their.

It's feature rich but not complicated to use and setup, the CSM was brilliant at walking me through admin and setup even after I had had a trial.

We use it internally in lots of meetings as well as in customer meetings. Internally its been great to help people who miss meetings, and invaulable at driving accountability in those meetings ensuring that decisions are made and action points are discussed. With customer meetings it's saved countless hours and therefore countless $'s from our sales and CSM teams having to manuall input notes into our HubSpot CRM.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

That I didnt find it years ago!
In all seriousness, there's not a lot I dislike about it. The Productboard integration isn't amazing, but we've gotten what we need by using Zapier instead and using that to send thigns to Productboard.
And if you uplaod a recording you cant push notes to your CRM (but I was told they are working on that)

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geeting good accurate notes form sales calls, ensures key information is not missed or forgotten.
It also ensures our product team can get great feedback directly into their systems using keyword matches and automation.
In internal calls its great a sumamrising for those who couldnt attend and driving accountability with action points

 ### 17. Grain is a game changer in sales

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain is a seemless experience that just does what you'd expect it to and then that much more.

User friendly interface, updates that just make sense, and a very helpful support team.

Great integration with Hubspot that saves me 30 minutes per sales call I have.

I use them to transcribe my sales calls and help my team with sales call reviews

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

If you're looking for the biggest name in the industry they might not be for you.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain saves me the time I was previously using to transcribe notes.
it also allows me to be more present in a call because I can go back and review and revise notes
Before I would be distracted taking notes and then missing critical info from the buyer.
Now I can pay better attention and clarify details in my notes at a later time or allow the AI note taker to summraize for me

 ### 18. Grain review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain is able to accurately capture meeting notes and transcripts. The support team is also very efficient and the onboarding system. Its also very easy to integrate and connect with other team members.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

maybe if they allow a minumum of 25 meting recordings on the free licenses instead of the current 20

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to access notes that i may have missed during the meeting with grain, and also review the videos

 ### 19. Great software - works seamlessly, easy to onboard, effortless to maintain

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben D. | Head of Revenue, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain was easy to setup and works exactly as we need it. It runs in the background, doesn't have bugs, and integrates perfectly with our Hubspot instance.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I wish it were a bit easier to get actionable insights to help train AEs. I know the Grain team is thinking about this too so I expect they will launch new features here in the future.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain is helping us record and transcribe our meetings into actionable insights in our CRM.

 ### 20. Exceptional Experience with the Grain App

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pamela L. | Integrator + Operations Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain has been most helpful to us as an add-on to all of your internal and external meetings. Some of our most favorite uses of it include: highlighting quotes; highlighting material to be used in creating social media content; sharing a transcript of the meeting with a client or our students; being able to easily revisit the meeting, search on a keyword, and call up what we want in a matter of seconds.

We've been using the Grain app for over 3 years and their onboarding and on-going support makes it so easy to learn how to use. Implementation in our business was super simple because Grain support was there to answer any questions that we had.

Not a workday goes by that we don't use Grain as part of every meeting we have. It easily integrates with Zoom and we just love that feature too!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

There isn't anything I don't like about Grain. They are an absolutely amazing, dedicated, and friendly company.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We originally turned to Grain because we were struggling with a clunky workflow of recording our meetings on Zoom, having them sent out to get transcripts, and it was a lot of back and forth work on our part.

Once we implemented Grain, we now not only get a crystal clear video recording, we get a very accurate transcript of the meeting.

 ### 21. Way better for call recording, notes, and call scoring than anything else I've tried!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John J. | Head Of Sales, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I've tried many different call recording, note taking, and meeting review apps. Grain is the only one that makes this whole process easy to use. Their snippets, talk tracks, and call searching is very easy compared to Gong and other.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Nothing really yet at this point. I don't see anything arising either.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Call recording, more client engagement without having to take notes at the same time.

 ### 22. Good tool, great team!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain provides great value for the price. We moved off of a leader in the space and didn't feel like we lost much from what we were using the tool for. Grain's team has been super helpful in ensuring we know how to use the product and offered to do multiple trainings with the team to get the most out of the product.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I look forward to when they have a mobile app. I used a competitor previously that had an App which made it easy to listen and give feedback to team members on-the-go. I think a native SFDC integration would be great as well.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain helps our product team understand what customers expect from our product. On the sales side, Grain helps us shorten ramp-up time for sales folks and gets us to positive revenue faster.

 ### 23. Grain has been awesome for our team - we've rolled it out across multiple orgs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben P. | Business Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The consistency of the recording. We've had other recording software in the past where it was always 50/50 whether or not it would record the call.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

By default when you share a Grain recording it is only share-able internally. I'm sure that's a super quick feature I could change on my end. I've just had a few prospects say "I can't access the recording because I don't have permission"

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain allows me to better understand where my Sales team is thriving and in what areas they can improve. I rely heavily on call recordings for feedback & coaching

 ### 24. Game changer as meeting AI assistant and notetaker

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kham I. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

It automatically attends all my meetings even if I'm not there. So it helps become a true assistant to take notes for me. Also I love the feature within AI where you can ask it anything about the meeting like next steps, challenges one of the attendees brought up, particular summary around a topic etc.

It's easy to have the summary and bullets and then quickly share that with anyone.

The reliability and accuracy of the notetaking releases the stress of me worrying about missing any important information. Therefore I'm able to be focussd and have my full attention with the attendees.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The filter to get tagged clips/notes could be easier but I have to do a few more clicks and go into multiple meetings vs just filtering by the tag and seeing all of them across all my meetings. I hope this filter will improve in the future.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping me focus on my conversations without the distractions of typing notes. It is also helping with accountability for me and my clients on what is expected of each other. Time savings for recapping and sharing knowledge.

 ### 25. Great transcription and video recording tool for different use cases

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrea S. | Customer Success Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I have tried a few similar tools, and I use Grain on a daily basis. I really like it because I often share recordings with clients and can easily clip videos to share internally with our support team to review bugs.

Additionally, the transcription feature is very helpful for understanding the topics discussed and for follow-up. The templates for the transcripts are great as they organize the meeting outcomes in a very digestible way.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I find it sometimes challenging to invite Grain to a meeting if it gets removed.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Taking transcript notes during meetings, I sometimes forget and start taking notes in my notepad and then remember that the transcript is already being taken care of by Grain, which is a relief. Being able to review meetings.

 ### 26. Used for education every day

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2024

I love that Grain makes my lectures searchable and easy to find for students

Somewhat hard to organize, often doesn't pick up Zoom room names and have to hand edit video titles

Getting Zoom recordings out to students instantaneously after class

 ### 27. Amazing Product. Works well out of the box.

Sometimes the settings can be confusing and unclear

Grain allows me to remember what was communicated to clients when managing a huge number of meetings

 ### 28. Been a Grain user/lover for almost a year.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cedric C. | Founder, Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

- the summary can be adapted to the type of call you have
- it helps you create a follow-up email
- the cadence at which they launch new features is impressive
- their customer support is very responsive
- I use all the time

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Not much. Maybe there are a few integrations that would be nice to have like other VoIP systems for example but not essential.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like to focus on the conversation rather than take notes on calls. I want the notes to then be where I expect them, my CRM, for easy reference. All automated.

 ### 29. user-friendly interface and time savings

The user-friendly interface and collaborative features make sharing notes with my students effortless, Grain saves me significant time!

Overall, Grain AI Notetaker is a must-have for anyone looking to streamline their note-taking and boost productivity. Highly recommended!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I would love to get the live note audio transcription (not only meetings)

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Save time and generate comprehensive meeting summary

 ### 30. Sales Demo Recording AI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jasper C. | Co-Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

It's the best meeting AI in my opinion, tried quite a few.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I guess it's not a full Gong replacement but for the price,, that's expected.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We basically don't keep notes in the CRM because Grain has us covered.

 ### 31. Simple to use and powerful enough

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kutay Y. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

As the revops manager, I like how simple to implement it is, and how simple to use. We onboarded Grain and no complaints from the team. It just works and records everything. Transcript is accurate, AI summary works like a charm; but both are mainly for English.

The product team is adding new features regularly, such as tagging people & commenting. It is really helpful for coaching. Conversatinal analytics were also missing but added recently. Clearly they are listening.

Cost-wise, it is not overpriced. An easy pick.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I believe automatic categorisation can be improved. I would like to be able to record only "some" of my external meetings, or I would like to send the AI summary to my Slack only for "some" of the call etc.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We want to record every call for clear note-taking and dispute management. Also coaching the sales team, and doing retrospective analysis.

 ### 32. Great Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raju C. | Tableau developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The highlight feature is perfect for sharing customer insights quickly. I can use it to record all my online meetings, so I don't need to take notes.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

There's nothing to dislike, it meets all my needs perfectly.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Records the business requirements calls and uses them later without having to take notes.

 ### 33. Great experience using Grain to record sales calls

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I like that grain is really easy to use and is a great way to go back and look at what was said during a meeting without having to take detailed notes the entire time.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I would like Grain to build more functionality around managing shared folders and settings default behaviors around sharing to specific groups of people.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain is a great way to easily record and share video meetings and notes with stakeholders both internal to my company. It solves the issue of having to upload and share via google drive.

 ### 34. Great toon, it makes easier my job

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I can focus in paying attention to the meeting instead of getting distracted trying to get notes. Also I can create short clips of the meeting if I want to share with the team only the main part instead of the whole meeting

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I would like to be able to join to webinars and to have more than one language per meeting

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain help me to create minutes super easy and fast for meetings, also, when I need a transcription, Grain is my tool

 ### 35. Game changer for how we understand what's happening in our business

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric M. | Lead Product Manager - Consumer & Growth, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

This has changed how we do business. We use it everyday. Now people don't need to be syncronously in every meeting. If needed, someone can review the contents later - and that can be a specific clip or at 1.5x speed.

Some use cases this has helped with:
* What did the customer request or say on the call with sales? Now we have a record, not just heresay
* What is the context around customer feedback? Now we have it, and can share those clips, especially the encouraging ones, with the individuals building the product
* How do we get people onboarded? Have them watch calls, understand how to speak about issues, learn directly from what customers are saying
* What did we agree to in an internal meetings? We have a record

Grain helps with so many use cases and has truly deomcratized so many things that would be gatekept in the past.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I wish Grain was slightly more intelligent about digesting who is talking and summarizing based on that. In external meetings, I need most of the summary focused on what the customer said.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

* Records internal meetings
* Records external meetings
* Creates transcripts
* Creates video clips/stories

 ### 36. Very helpful research tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ted H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Grain?**

- Video recaps are easy to create and much more powerful than written notes
- Saves a ton of time taking notes
- Transcripts, highlights and stories lead to higher-quality research findings

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

- As the only one in my compay using it currently, it feels a little harder to directly share. However, the ability to drop + view clips directly into Slack has helped overcome that.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Removing the administrative burden from market research conversations

 ### 37. A must-have app for all people who are doing user research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lars B. | Lead Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Before Grain, I relied on Zoom recordings to record user interviews I was conducting. But sharing insights in a easy-to-consume way was hard. And these recordings mostly went into a Notion database to die. I mostly recorded them for later, if in any case, I would have to look something up.

But with Grain, I could easily timestamp something in an interview and share that snippet to Slack. I still remember my first time using Grain and how groundbreaking that felt!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Our engineers don't speak German, and most of our users are in German. Grain also transcribes videos. Now if the transcript could be translated, and then Grain would automatically generated subtitles for the video — or even generate automated synchronized voice in a foreign language of the speaker (hello LLMs!), this would be HUGE! Then engineers could watch user interview although it wasn't in their language! Wow! Maybe it could happen almost live? Just a thought.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are recording lots of user interviews and needed an easy way to share the most important parts with the organisation to steer the focus of attention

 ### 38. Grain has been extremely helpful for my work and I have shared my testimonial with many colleagues.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John C. | Attorney, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I am an attorney and I work at a law school. One of my duties includes supervising law students to prepare them for civil rights and restorative justice presentations. Students and colleagues love the transcripts and video recordings because it ensures that they can get detailed notes about everything stated. It's also extremely helpful for note taking purposes for any meetings that we may have.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I honestly can't think of anything that I dislike about Grain. My only complaint is the limited nature of the free option as either monthly or yearly billing isn't very affordable in my line of work. However, I believe that it would be worth the money!

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The greatest issue that Grain solves for me is note-taking management. I am extremely busy, so detailed notes (which I prefer) can be difficult. However, Grain provides me with a peace of mind that I didn't have before I was introduced to it.

 ### 39. Using Grain for CONTENT CREATION and it's great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ethan A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

It's super easy to use, transcribes calls, and makes it extremely simple to create clips that can be shared internally or externally.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

There are lots of competitors in the market. Luckily, Grain has been awesome so far, so we haven't had any reason to look elsewhere.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain allows me to record my internal and external calls, and if I find great clips, I turn them into videos and share them on social media as content (once I get permission from the others on the call). It's the cheapest, fastest, and most geniune way of creating engaging content.

 ### 40. Grain is awesome. If you conduct user interviews or even just take part in zoom meetings, get it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt L. | Creative director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain's highlight feature is a particular highlight! It has revolutionised the way we take and share meeting notes amongst our team.

We've also used grain for user interviews and the highlight reels went down very well with our client.

In terms of internal use, having grain auto-join meetings has been invaluable in the evidencing decisions and sign offs.

Get it! You won't regret it!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I'm struggling with this one. I genuinely can't think of anything noteworthy.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since Covid, a lot of our processes as an agency moved online.

Meetings that previously were held in person are now often done through zoom. We've always been pretty good at note taking but grain has really helped here. We now auto record meetings and take highlight reels giving us a log of all decisions.

 ### 41. Has completely streamlined my meetings!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel N. | Founder & CEO, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Ever since I started recording my meetings with Grain, I've recalled each session and what was discussed in 1/2 of the time I used to.

Grain has become essential software for running my business as a Solopreneur. It feels as if I have a team that joins me in the meetings and takes care of writing specific to-dos, summarizing discussions, pointing out key moments, and ensuring every moment is transcribed.

I also love that I can have my AI recorded join into meetings that I cannot join personally. Impressive feature and has saved me a lot of time. On top of this, having the ability to automate Grain with Zapier has been a huge time saver by automatically sending follow-up emails of the recordings to my clients.

Even my clients are impressed with the software after I share post-meeting notes. Highly recommended.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I have not found anything I disklike about the software so far.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ever since I started recording my meetings with Grain, I've recalled each session and what was discussed in 1/2 of the time I used to.

Grain has become essential software for running my business as a Solopreneur. It feels like I have a team that joins me in the meetings and writes specific to-dos, summarizes discussions, points out key moments, and ensures every moment is transcribed. Grain saves me A LOT of time, since before, I would go through recordings by myself and take manual notes, which could takes hours.

With grain, I can go over meetings in as short as 30 minutes and have a complete picture with summaries, todos, and key moments.

 ### 42. Has noticeably improved my user calls and make it more manageable to do more user calls

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Searchable transcription where I can search key words and get a relatively accurate quote of what the user said. I also like that this is available immediately after the call. I like that grain recorder will ask to join my google hangout calls and once I've gotten verbal permission from the user to record the call, I'll admit the grain recorder into the room to record.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Sometimes transcription gets words wrong. An example from my most recent call was that it transcribed "headphones" as "husband". I normally go through the transcription immediately after the call to get user quotes and share notes over slack with the rest of my team so I've been able to remember what the user actually said if there's an odd word in the transcription.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a product manager for a tech startup and use Grain to record and transcribe calls I have with our users. I'm looking to get feedback from users on what's working or not working well for them and then incorporate this into future improvements and features.

 ### 43. Grain makes my life easier!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shareil N. | Head of Customer Experience, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love how easy Grain has been to set up and use. We use it to record and transcribe all of our sales, onboarding, and customer check-in calls at Arrows. The ability to quickly highlight and organize portions of the calls makes it incredibly easy to revisit conversations, share customer feedback internally, and always have a pulse on the voice of our customers.

I've had customers tell me "wow, you remember everything we say!" - yup, thank you Grain!

I also really love my CSM at Grain. Katie has been incredibly helpful in teaching me best practices, sharing updates on features and roadmaps, and spending the time to build a relationship with me. She also captures all my product feedback and keeps me informed when things do get updated!

Grain's new AI features are also super valuable because they help summarize calls automatically!

Great team and a great product.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

There isn't much I dislike about Grain. The platform itself keeps improving as they continue to listen to customer feedback. Features I felt have been missing, are quickly added to their roadmap and often implemented before my next scheduled check-in with our CSM.

Things that I thought could improve (like the ability to more easily filter between calls, edit clips, and update the transcription) all keep improving as the team builds the product and continues to learn from customer feedback.

Grateful that they listen to their customers and improve the product accordingly!

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to bring our customers' voice and needs to every department in our company by sharing clips, creating stories, and ensuring everyone has access to hear what our customers are saying!

 ### 44. Exposing Blind Spots in My Own Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shahbaz i. | Introduction Leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain takes all my recordings and makes them easily accessible in a tile or list format allowing me quick and easy access to what I want and when I want it. This format provides me with the ability to quickly and concisely address areas in videos where I've provided excellent or poor service and the ability to adjust it with velocity.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

For my purposes, the only downside I see is the inability to select, copy and paste the transcription directly from the recording page. I admit that this could be because of something I'm doing or not doing AND I am always looking for ways to make more use of the tool.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain solves three main issues for us: 1. Who said what during a call 2. When did they say what they said. 3. What was the context in which what was communicated was communicated.

1. Knowing who is communicating what has changed how we break out our tasks across the team. This provides our admin team with clarity around tasks we request they complete and allows us to quickly get our client requests to our production team. It's changed the way we delegate actions, drastically.

2. Having a timeline or particular date/time in mind for what our clients said or didn't say makes an incredible difference in operating our internal practices for those clients.

3. Context is everything and can make all the difference in the world when working with clients and vendors, prospects, and contacts. For my note-taking functions, I spend a great deal of time sorting out what may or may not have been the intention behind a particular request. With Grain, we're able to quickly assess this and align the correct resources with the correct folks.

 ### 45. Grain is super easy to use, it's functionality is intuitive and it saves me time

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caleb M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I can use it to record all my online meetings so that I don't have to write notes. It makes these meetings much more valuable because I can reference them. We use it in our discovery call and proposal generation process so that another team member can write the proposal even if they weren't in the Zoom meeting.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

It's a little clunky when trying to figure out where the grain recordings are organised. I would love to just be able to set a default library for them to be added to rather than having to move them from my personal library to the shared company library.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I answered this question already but it saves time in my proposal generation process because I take the discovery call and another one of my team members writes the proposal based on the grain recording that I can easily share with them through our project management software.

**Official Response from Rasheed Ahamed:**

> Hi Caleb,

Thanks for the review! You have the option to update your settings and automatically share new recordings with the company workspace. To do this, please follow these steps:

- Go to Settings
- Under "My Account," select "Recording."
- Look for the "Auto-share Settings" section.
- Adjust the settings according to your preference.

By enabling this feature, all new recordings will be automatically shared with the company workspace.

If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out.

 ### 46. We use this feature regularly as a way to keep our thoughts in sync.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I appreciate the ease of adding the recorder automatically to any meeting and the option to only use it for myself, without sharing to the whole team. I keep my head together when I can review the recording back after the meeting to be sure I was clear on the outcomes.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I dislike the inability to remove videos from the workspace as an admin. I think there is an opportunity to allow admins control to access what is being shared in the company workspace and to protect the privacy of those videos, when needed.

I don't like the aggressive nature of the platform when it enters into a Google Meet call. When it's not a part of our organization, it has to be admitted and you can consistently see the recorder in the view. Especially awkward when we are two people and the recorder stays there. With Zoom, we are able to hide it, while everyone knows it's there, it is not as obvious.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Forgetting the conversation
ALlow me to focus more and review after, less notes being taken so I can get the context.

 ### 47. Very happy with Grain

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain is one of those products that I don't know how I lived without it. As a senior product manager - I am constantly doing qualitative interviews with customers, ICPs, stakeholders - and I simply don't have the time to take notes, review Zoom recordings, etc. Grain makes it easy to digest important calls, disseminate the information across stakeholders, and act quickly on important information I receive from everyone I talk to.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Two things:

1. More integrations with our general workflow. We use Shortcut and Notion to manage our workflow. We used to use ProductBoard - but I didn't think the integration was all that useful. It would be awesome to integrate with those two.

2. Keep improving the summary/AI. They tend to be a little off and not super useful (yet).

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me better understand my customers, remember what they say, and quickly disseminate that information across the company.

**Official Response from Rasheed Ahamed:**

> Thanks for the review, Alex!

- We've been adding new integrations regularly, including the recent addition of HubSpot. Your suggestions are important to us, and I'll make sure to pass them to our product team. In the meantime, you can use Zapier to connect Grain with any tool you prefer.

- We've also made improvements to our AI summary feature, making it more accurate. And, Grain now provides a shorter summary, a list of key points, and next steps.

Thanks again for your feedback and we appreciate your support!

 ### 48. Grain: A great way to gather, synthesize, and share user feedback

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Being able to search all recording transcripts is absolutely the most valuable feature of Grain! You never have to hunt for feedback, or even worry about synthesizing your research--the AI summaries do that work for you. Knowing how much you have spoken in an interview is also great, it helps me as an interviewer think more critically about how I ask questions in interviews.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I am a big fan of Grain, so there are no major dislikes from my end. My last post spoke to a problem that is now solved. They are incredibly responsive to feedback, which, as a user researcher, is something I also love.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain allows me to remember everything that happened in an interview without taking copious, sometimes flawed notes! Going back to past interviews to learn from our users is an invaluable resource for my work as a user researcher. Being able to share clips with relevant audiences in my organization is also incredibly helpful.

 ### 49. Makes life so easy!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brianna G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

integrates seemlessly with zoom and google meets, can have different privacy settings per recording, can create highlights and grain summarizes the clip for me. Transcribes the whole meeting. I love the new update where AI summarizes the video and creates it's own highlights.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I don't dislike anything about grain. The only idea I have on how it could be better is if once creating a highlight from a recording, grain integrated with a task management tool and created the action item/task for us.
Also, sometimes grain gets "buggy" when I try to edit the copy/transcript.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i use Grain as a technical recruiter. Grain helps me make sure I do not miss any critical info/skills a candidate tells me about in their interview. We also can view each other's recordings to see if a candidate would be suitable for a different role. I also use grain for training purposes.

 ### 50. I can stay focused while capturing everything in my meeting!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tiffany T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The ability to upload and transcribe Zoom calls is really useful. So even if I didn't initiate or own the call, I can still get the benefit of using Grain to summarize what happened.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Using it on a mobile device is difficult. I can't see the whole screen or navigate it easily. I tend to transfer work from my laptop to iPad to phone, and it would help if I could use Grain across those devices easily.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a solopreneur, so if I'm conducting a call with a client, I usually have to choose between writing notes by hand or using a voice note app and later doing the work of transcribing. Grain handles the note-taking for me, leaving my brain free to fully engage in the conversation with my client. And I don't have to spend time later attempting to transcribe or rewrite my notes. It's like having a really smart, capable assistant at every meeting.
