I’ve been looking into WhatsApp marketing platforms and one big thing for me is CRM integration. For e-com and SMBs using something like HubSpot or Zoho, it feels pretty important that WhatsApp activity ties back into customer data instead of just living in a separate tool. Looking at the G2 grid + reviews, a few platforms keep showing up:
- Insider: strong on personalization and omnichannel engagement, integrates with a bunch of CRMs.
- Wati: very WhatsApp-first, and it does offer CRM integrations (popular with SMBs).
- WebEngage: more of a marketing automation suite with WhatsApp + CRM tie-ins.
- respond.io: built for managing large volumes of customer chats across channels, plays well with CRMs.
- MoEngage, CleverTap, Braze, Netcore: all omnichannel engagement platforms that position WhatsApp as part of a broader customer data/CRM-connected strategy.
And then of course there’s the WhatsApp Business Platform: but on its own it doesn’t really connect with CRMs unless paired with one of these providers.
Curious what others are using: if your team needs WhatsApp + CRM, do you stick with a WhatsApp-first tool like Wati/respond.io, or go with a bigger omnichannel platform? Would love to hear what’s worked (or not) when it comes to getting WhatsApp + CRM to actually play nice together.
Also, anyone here using HubSpot or Zoho with WhatsApp: how smooth is the integration in practice? Do messages/replies actually log back into the CRM, or do you still end up jumping between tools? Curious if things like abandoned cart workflows or lead follow-ups can really be triggered straight from the CRM side.
