WorkSnap is a time tracker for people who bill by the hour and work for
themselves like consultants or freelancers.
It does four things and tries to do them properly. Track time, with a live timer
or by filling an entry in after the fact — same layout either way. Organise that
time by project and client. Set hourly rates that inherit from your profile down
to a client and then to a project, and mark any entry billable or not. Then read
it back: a detailed log and a dashboard, filtered by client, project, billable
status and date range, with no ceiling on how far back you can look, and exports
to CSV, XLSX and PDF. Also prepaid hours per client or project is available.
If you have used Clockify, you will find your way around in about a minute. The
timer bar, the way entries group by day and week with running totals, the
description-first workflow, the project picker with clients underneath — those
conventions are deliberately familiar, so switching does not mean relearning how
to start a timer. There is no import, so your old history stays where it is.
What it deliberately does not do: teams, tags, sub-tasks, integrations,
invoicing, a public API, native apps, and anything resembling employee
monitoring. No screenshots, no idle detection, no activity scoring.
All of it is free, permanently, for a single user. There is no paid plan and
there will never be one — which is the whole argument, because a free plan only
gets cut when it competes with a paid one. Nothing you use today can be moved
behind a payment tomorrow. Analytics are self-hosted in the EU, there is no
cookie banner, and you can export everything and leave at any time.
