Jira is basically used to help teams organize and track their work in one place, especially in software development. Here you can create "tickets" for anything like bugs, new features, or tasks. Each ticket can be assigned to someone, prioritized, and tracked until it’s completed.

Most teams use Jira to keep track of what needs to be done and who is responsible for it, manage bugs and issues so nothing gets lost, plan and run Agile workflows like sprints and Kanban boards, and get a clear view of progress and blockers through dashboards and reports.

For example, if a bug appears in production, instead of just discussing it in chat and potentially forgetting about it, someone creates a Jira ticket. That ticket is then assigned, prioritized, and followed through until it’s fixed.
