Unfortunately this CAD software is less popular in industry. If you are looking to market your CAD skills many employers have never even heard of Inventor. However, many of the skills you can learn through practicing with Inventor can easily translate to other CAD software. I highly recommend this software if you are a student or beginner looking to get into CAD. This is a super affordable software that includes all the basics you need for projects or drawings. Very comparable to much more expensive software. Lots of package options for both students, home users, and professionals. I really enjoyed using this program and have found it to be incredibly useful. They are always updating their software and are constantly improving their interface and options. While Inventor may not be as popular as other CAD software, it certainly is not obsolete and it is easy to find literature and how-to information online that will help guide you through. As mentioned previously, Inventor is great for educational purposes. It is a budget friendly option and if you are a college student you can get a version of the software for free. This is great for home users designing things to be printed on a 3D printer or if you are looking to quickly mock something up. AutoCad LT does not handle the creation and storage of "Blocks" in a way that is compatible with our document management system. This is a major pain in the backside since a lot of the designs I create use the same basic elements in each drawing. If you like the traditional paper and pencil style, then there is nothing better than Procreate. Go for it.

Even if you don't know drawing, but have some imagination, you can do well. There is plenty of help while drawing and expressing your imagination.

You can do storyboard within procreate on a layer and then draw your actual thing on top of that layer

The alpha lock, clipping mask and masks work great and are excellent to use.

You need an apple pencil - from any generation for sure to comfortably use procreate.

The canvas size and the number of layers depends on the resolution and RAM of your iPAD.

I have drawn loads of props and characters and I animate them. I specialize in creating animated books from children books. Procreate is a tool that I go to often to get the best textures and realistic effects.

You cannot easily draw curves or work with curves as demanded by transportation design. Car designs are extremely difficult with this. Not impossible but too strenous. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The SolidWorks forums are really helpful for somebody who doesn't know how to get help. SolidWorks help locally may only be available in the local language and won't necessarily always be available in English unless it is the local language of the country. For Example, I subscribed to the Portuguese newsletter while I prefer to work in English, there was no option around this. Just a point to note if you are an expatriate in another country.

I am not overly familiar with BricsCAD, however, some of the tings I dislike is that you can't print off/export more than one drawing at a time. It makes moving the drawings more tedious. Also, it can be hard to recenter on a certain area of the sheets, and usually can only be fixed by scrolling extremely out and in. Not exactly a time saver. The program also seems sort of out dated by the looks of it, but it may be less resolution and user friendly to save on the memory it takes up on a computer. I would highly recommend users to start using Rhinoceros. It is a 3D program that allows you to create fast and accurate 3D models. For our discipline (urban design) it works great. I enjoy working with Rhinoceros because it allows to organise the file very well with all the layers options. In terms of support there are many tutorial videos available and also user guides that explain all the functions in detail and therefore there are not any commands that are not easy to understand. I like the fact that you can have floating licenses, for example in our office we have a few licenses and we create and team and can share the purchased licenses. I am an urban designer and I am using Rhinoceros mainly for volumetric models. I use it to make and volumetric studies of urban plans. I import 2D base drawings from Autocad and then using extruding commands create the 3D model. I calculate the total volume with Rhino, continue building the model and finally exporting the end product. I return to 2D drawing as Autocad or Illustrator or I use Lumion for making renders. I am very satisfied with Rhinoceros as a 3D modelling program. Table is not user friendly like as familiar CAD software. Looking same but not satisfied. I expect should be like as familiar CAD software. if possible.

In over all Tamil Nadu Corporation Building Plan Approval Authority using private supporting program based on familiar CAD software. While they are using ActCAD, getting Table error problem.

All own Lisp program could not use directly from familiar CAD software, we have to revise something for ActCAD (Actually this is not a problem) and also LSP file compiling is not available like as .FAS, .VLX

Not as good at working with surfaces or editing complex curved faces. This is where having a second CAD package available can be helpful if it works in a different way. For example, my company uses ANSYS Spaceclaim, which works well with surfaces but does not have the same overall capabilities as SOLIDWORKS, so the two work together pretty well. Vector brushes have end errors, like little artifact on the end of the line - that a soft issue and i think they will resolve it soon - but for me that's a problem, because brushes are very good, i would ude that app much more if not that.

it recreate the best realistic brush effects like oil and aquarelle - when i need a realist fast result i prefer to do that in Fresco vs doing that on paper.

IN fresco we start to draw direct in vector (illustrator it is not very advance in drawing) and that give us much better result raver that vectoring the procreate file - it is about small details - but the small details make a very big difference in preparing a landscape for a wine label for example.
