## Shapr3D Reviews
  ### 1. Intuitive and fluid program to work

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel M. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

How intuitive the program is and the fluidity in the work.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

That it doesn't have so many 2D functions for creating sketches and that it allows creating lines that join on different reference planes. I would also like to be able to stretch an object and have it stay fixed to simulate movement, and that it allows recording videos or animations of that movement.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like that 3D models can be created very quickly, textures can be added, and they are rendered in just a few steps. In general, the process is simple and agile.

  ### 2. Amazingly powerful yet simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William C. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Shapr3D is powerful enough to create detailed models, yet simple enough that I can build and iterate quickly and easily, even when I’m on the go.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

In Sketch mode, the snap lines can be a bit buggy at times, and they don’t always let me place a point exactly where I want.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to use a CAD program called TinkerCAD. It was pretty fun and easy to work with, but the engine just didn’t let me create the kind of detailed models I wanted.

  ### 3. Effortless 3D Creation with Intuitive Design and Precision

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vence Ian M. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I find it easy to create everything in 3D thanks to its user-friendly design. I appreciate that I don't need to make things complicated to accomplish specific tasks. Since I primarily use it for automation, I value the technology from Shapr3D, which ensures that my automation components are always clean and precise.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

At this point, I haven’t found any drawbacks to Shapr3D. I use several other applications, but I find Shapr3D to be superior in comparison. Perhaps in the future, Shapr3D could introduce technology that allows for animations with the components.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What benefits me most is that Shapr3D is user-friendly and works seamlessly on my iPad Pro. I feel that this combination has really solved a major need for me.

  ### 4. Helpful Tutorials Make It Easy to Learn shapr3d

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Theunis P. | Entrepreneur, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

They have tutorials to learn you how to use the program

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Nothing so far. Just got it last a couple of weeks ago

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can learn myself how to design 3d stuff

  ### 5. Fantastic CAD app for the iPad with top features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Individual & Family Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Working with Shapr3D is extremely intuitive and easy to learn. I find it particularly practical that Shapr3D is available for the iPad and you can create sketches directly with the Apple Pencil. The export functions are excellent, as almost every file format is supported. Thanks to cloud synchronization, switching between different devices is uncomplicated. The app runs very smoothly on the iPad, and you rarely have to wait for content to load. I am a big fan of Shapr3D and can recommend the software to anyone who wants to implement parametric CAD design on the iPad – ideally with Apple Pencil. The operation is really simple, fun, and offers a lot of room for creativity. Shapr3D is also well-suited for renderings - there is a very large number of materials. The software is also recommended on a Windows computer, even if the 3D control seems a bit less intuitive there. I use Shapr3D at least once a week as a student and it is fun to work with the software every time. The implementation on the iPad is very well designed, you have all the functions you need and yet it is very clearly arranged. Shapr3D's customer support responds extremely quickly and is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

My biggest criticism of Shapr3D is the price. For private individuals, 300 euros per year is simply too expensive. Fortunately, there is also a basic option from Shapr3D that is free and allows you to have up to 2 projects. And when it comes to actually designing the objects in Shapr3D, there are really no restrictions because almost all functions are available. The problem, however, is that when you want to export the 3D model, you have very limited options regarding file formats, and what annoys me greatly is that you cannot export the 3D models in good resolution. Sometimes the 3D models become practically unusable due to this low resolution, because a circle, for example, then resembles an octagon. After some time using the Basic version of Shapr3D, I fortunately found out that there is a free Pro version of Shapr3D for students. On the Shapr3D website, you can send your student ID to customer support, and they will then activate the account for the Pro version. I am very pleased that Shapr3D is free for students, as it is a very good opportunity for students to become familiar with such programs and to realize their own projects without having to pay 300 euros per year. In general, I also believe that the functions in Shapr3D are well worth 300 euros, but it is still too much money for ordinary private individuals/hobbyists.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have never really had any problems with Shapr3D. The only difficulty I have had so far was longer loading times when working on very detailed sketches with many different lines, but that is most likely not due to the software, but because I am working on the iPad.

What I would wish for in the future is the ability to integrate simulations and automatic movements for certain components, such as self-designed engines, in Shapr3D. This way, one could render not only photos but also short videos, which would significantly enrich the presentation of one's designs.

  ### 6. Great architectural conceptual model

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maximiliano Eloy G. | Cadist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The learning curve is fast, and the program runs very smoothly despiste running in an envirmoment as limited as an iPad

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

The isolate comand can’t hide objects, only isolate the selected

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used the program to make conceptual models

  ### 7. Unparalleled greatness

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie M. | Professional Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I love the parametrics and the fact that components can be linked to test designs

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

It would be great if parameters could be grouped and located separate from the history. Also, if it would be possible to create parameters prior to adding them to measurements it would be brilliant.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a professional architect and industrial designer and though I have incredible softwares on my PC, I wish I could build models (especially in terms of industrial design) on my iPad also. Shapr3D truly solved my problem!

  ### 8. Shapr3D used to be better. In the recent updates, basic functionality has taken a hit.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Pick up and get to designing very quickly. The ease of making a shape in most cases is pretty smooth. If you want anything more complex than a basic shape you need to leverage tricks that are not intuitive at first.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Easily the most annoying software I use anymore. Hands down. The older versions were less picky and finicky. I have been using shapr3D for awhile and I think they have recently, within the last couple of updates, hired some product design person who is more of an "idea guy" than a functionality person. One thing I can point to specifically is that I used to be able to just click an edge, face, or double click to select a solid body. Now, that behavior is halfway between being able to click it directly, and having a little popup menu that asks me which shape I want. When they are all called "Body 29 (1)(1)(1)(1)" because I duplicated something 6 times, it gets really hard to keep track of. The Ipad version has taken a SERIOUS hit due to this. I actually stopped using it entirely.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shapr3D is a relatively simple 3D CAD tool. The benefits are dwindling with the newer updates. At this rate, I might as well switch to a fully integrated and long term developed software that has the features that Shapr is hinting at. I previously enjoyed it for its simplicity, but the addition of new features on top of what we used to have is being done in a bad way. Instead of adding support for threads in a simple fashion, they chose to redo item selection and change the sketch colors.

  ### 9. A farewell to legacy found in other 3D CAD products

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikolay E. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

1. Top notch UI/UX. 2. Truly a macOS-native app with no legacy notion of how a 3D CAD should work 3. Proper trackpad support, so that you don't have to buy an additional input device

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Pricing is bit high for small DIY enthusiasts with no revenue.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowed me to start designing custom 3D objects for 3D printing in virtually in no time on my MacBook

  ### 10. Shapr3D - CAD at the Prosumer Level and Up

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris B. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I'm using Shapr3D to define and grow a physical product business. Shapr3D is hard-core CAD tooling that is wrapped in layers that can be opened by first-time creators and 30 year veterans. What do I like best? It is fun to use and very gratifying to see ideas come to life on screen.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Like most CAD products, there is a learning curve. YouTube videos and the community helps. It is also priced aggressively for a non-corporate user.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need enough CAD tooling to build prototypes and I need it to be precise and limitless. Shapr3D delivers.

  ### 11. Aside from the cost, this product is amazing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kartik S. | Lecturer, User Experience Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The user experience is SO thoughtful. It contextually changes what options are available, and has some sort of memory so if you were just looking at an arc, it will actually be more likely to connect a new line to the path of that arc. The iPad use is fantastic which is how I primarily use it, but using it on my Mac is great too. I use it every few days to design whatever I want.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

There are plenty of tutorials up already, but it is a more niche product than OnShape, which is a more niche product than Fusion360, so I feel like the community to seek and give help is a little smaller, but that is a bit outside Shapr's control.
Also, there is the cost. If I didn't have an edu account, I likely would never have even given Shapr a shot.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem it is solving are primarily functional problems. That is to say, if something is broken, or something can be improved with a bespoke designed tool or attachment, Shapr comes in handy to quickly and easily design something.

  ### 12. Quick Start and Intuitive Help for Design Projects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pablo V. | Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

It offers a quick start and intuitive help for many design situations

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

The learning curve started to look slower while getting into details

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Need to evolve from paper ideas to a delicate 3D model to efficiently present a prototype

  ### 13. Great software undermined by shady business practices and bad support

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reiss C. | Fleet Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The software is great. It's easy to use, feature rich. The software is polished and mostly bug free. Their autosave and syncing features are definitely among the best I have seen. It has great export options and the history based mdoelling is exactly the UX you want out of a tool like this.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Unfortunately Shapr3D have resorted to shady, scummy business practices in an attempt to overcharge and borderline scam customers. Their extremely confusing UI for adding more seats to your subscription leads you to add more than you actually wanted. Then when you try to remove an erroneously added seat, you can't. You must email support. Then when you email support they will claim and gaslight you by saying that you can remove seats by following the documentation. Only the documentation they send you doesn't contain anything about removing seats, because you can't. So they are trying all the usual tricks around playing dumb and time wasting in the hope that you will just give up and keep paying for seats you don't need. It's disgusting and taints an otherwise great product.

If I can add seats to my plan through the website. I should be able to remove seats on the website. If you can't keep ahold of customers without these disgusting business practices, you never deserved the customers in the first place.

Software wise, it can quite easily be overwhelmed performance and optimisation wise. Using the pattern tool to create a grid of hexagons for example, trying to move them around even with a top spec PC is challenging. I get the occaisional crash.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is just a very intuitive piece of software that has made modelling products and tools faster and easier than ever

  ### 14. Precision and learning curve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Considering the high technical level and precision of Shapr3D the user interface is very well organized and the search function work very well. The app on the iPad is also super responsive and I have never experienced crashed (have only done smaller projects). Export of project is very easy.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

The technical level of this all is very high including a lot of functions. Hence is over all not entirely intuitive to use. I often have to find guides and instructions for what I want to do, and it takes som time to get use to the logic of the set up (e.g. sketches and 'building' mode)

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The need for making high resolution 3d models for 3d printing

  ### 15. Great option for CAD on the go

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitchell P. | Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Ipad integration is a great option for creating CAD models when sitting at a computer is not an option. Support for the stylus/pencil is pretty intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Sensitivity of the stylus/pencil is lacking but this may be a hardware issue and not software.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shapr3D allows me to generate CAD drawings while sitting on the couch or in bed

  ### 16. Shapr is the best. I guess this is the only parametric SAPR application for iPad.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Петр . | CEO of manufacturing company, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Comparing with fusion 360 for MacBook it’s very easy to study.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I wish it has:
1) more instruments
2) upload my textures for rendering
3) cam

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can quickly try the new idea in design

  ### 17. Very intuitive functionality beast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Artem K. | Backend Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

User interface is great, especially integrated tutorials. You can start building your product in just few hours.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

It requires subscription for advanced features, I would prefer one-time payment.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I modeled whole 2 store house for my parents, it's amazing.

  ### 18. Excellent and intuitive modeling program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carl S. | Educator / Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Super easy to learn. We started uting Shapr3D for a 3D prototyping unit in an architecture school - easy and students could use it quickly, better for 3D printing than the modeling programs they are curretnly using. I was able to teach my 7th grader in about 2-3 hours. Easy to transition from desktop to Ipad.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

We find the snapping features sometimes hard to control

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's very quick and easy. Grate companion for custom work on a 3D printer

  ### 19. It's a spectacular software for 3D design.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan Felipe C. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I really like the connection that the program has made with my iPad. I use it every day, its veru easy to implement and integrate it in my work process. It's very easy to create my ideas from simple sketches. It's easy to create the designs, right with my hand and my Apple Pencil. There's no better interaction than this when it comes to capturing ideas. The customer support is amaznig, there is a huge community.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

It is possible that it lacks some basic tools, such as the option to create cones, which is essential for designing models that will be molded later. In the field of textures, I would like to see everything in a more realistic image, although it already looks spectacular right now. Exporting the V's for use in other rendering software is somewhat complicated.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are creating plastic housings for electronic components and we need to make many iterations. For us, it's very important that designing is easy since we spend many hours on it. The interaction with the iPad is very important as it is our essential work tool.

  ### 20. Amazingly easy to create complicated 3d models

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael B. | Owner/Boss, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Using iPad and Apple Pencil makes the process easy and accurate to create detailed models. There are so many tools and features that it takes a while to learn but I have been very surprised at what it can do. Much easier than Sk....p

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I only have a need to make one model for my work which I did using the free version. If I need to do more modelling the price would be ok for the full version.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My model is for an interlocking brick. Shapr3D allows me to see how the components will fit together with enough tolerance and how the finished product comes together.

  ### 21. Very good program for 3d modeling on iPad

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Slobodan S. | Hobbyist, 3D printing for me., Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Greatest of this program is pencil! It's very fast. I recommend for 3d printing.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Hmmm... the price is too high for those of us who are learning to work and we cannot export a circle as a circle, but we get a polygon.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

That it's easier to get a license for those of us who don't make a living from modeling.

  ### 22. Easy to use but it's not worth a subscription

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Printing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The application is quite intuitive and you can easily do complex shapes without much work.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Considering that there's other existing optins for 3d modeling it's kind of a shame the path they decided to take with a paid subscription that is quite limiting.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a software developer I understand the need to monetize the application, however they could come up with a less retrictive option for basic plan.

  ### 23. Easy and professional

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

- it is easy to use
- on iPad it feels like natural designing
- very smart learning curve via embedded tutorials

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

- a bit more expensive, but still I love it!

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basically anything what I need to repair around the house and 3D print.
I want it primarily for home projects.

  ### 24. Best upgrade for those who use Sketchup for furniture design.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricardo S. | Designer-professor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The parameterization of the work and the time saved.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

It still does not have the characteristic of making one object twin of the other (Component object).

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to change dimensions without having to redo the entire work.

  ### 25. This product is a scam

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I can't yet find anything positive that another software can not do

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

This software requires you to make an account and maintain internet access to use.

This software requires you to sit through a lengthy (6+ minute) video upon start-up.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none

  ### 26. creating simple models for visualization

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Ability to apply color, save in PDF format, augmented reality, use a tape measure. Ease of use. Ease of implementation. Customer support. Ease of integration. Frequency of use.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

No Ukrainian language. Frequency of use.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create my own educational content.

  ### 27. Give me copy/paste

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Great, easy 3D modeling tool. Very powerful!

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Give me copy/paste!!!!! I need to be able to copy objects from one project to another!!! And while you’re at it, let us copy or duplicate projects. It's too cumbersome as it is!!!

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Can't copy an object from one project to another. And, it's a pain in the a$$ to duplicate or copy a project...say from Rev 1 to Rev 2!!!!

  ### 28. Shapr3D but so far is a very good 3D modeling software specially to be used by highschool students

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Damaris C. | Secondary Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Shapr3D is intuitive and very easy to use. The learning process is quick, and what I like the most is that you can download it with an educational license for free.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Even though Shapr3D is very easy to use, if you do not have a three-button mouse, it is pretty confusing; I recommend avoiding using a mighty mouse and better try a standard mouse with a middle wheel to be productive and less confusing.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using this software for educational purposes, and I have not faced any problems using Shapr3D so far; I will be using it more and testing its features before giving any response to this question.

  ### 29. Shapr3D turns my gestures into architecture

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dimitris P. | Company Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The intuitive way of using the provided tools.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Having been a cad user since early 90s, meaning using just command line instead of buttons, I am still struggling to move things around with precision.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is intuitive and for this reason I can turn my thoughts into the architectural shapes I have in my mind without the hustle of the learning curve a 3d programming tool would require.

  ### 30. Nice, clean and intuitive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ibon B. | Secondary School Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I work on an iPad Pro. Working with the Apple Pencil on the iPad is fast and intuitive. I can make fast prototipes for 3d printing on the run is great.
Comparing to sketchup is more precise and the created solids prin much better. You don't get surprises with the geometry of the bodies.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Some processes of the drawing are not always intuitive for me, but I have to admit that I haven't checked most of the tutorials. So probably is my fault.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can design anywhere, without using the computer. This gives me a great degree of freedom. I 'm a STEAM related engenirering teacher in a high school and I can make sketch in the middle of the class while I explain something to an individual student or group just by coming to their side and sketching what I need for the explanation. This gives me a lot of freedom and response speed.

  ### 31. Looks simple but stands out Shapr3D

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pete H. | CFO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Customer service is great, but the tutorials that cover almost every aspect of the program are very steps by step and very easy to follow I've been a user of other cad programs for years and I needed something that worked on the iPad because it's one of my go to devices nowadays this really fit that bill

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Honestly I think the limitations would be in not taking the time to watch the demos and to review the tutorials because it is an intuitive drying environment and so if you overthink it it makes it way more difficult.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do many things one of the things that I'm using Shapr3D for is designing very small pumps it works very well either in micro or major so it can do almost anything I think being able to import manufactures designs into it has been real helpful

  ### 32. easy to use, no matter for viewing or drawing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eagen K. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Intuitive interface for drawing 3D graphic with Apple Pencil. It started on iPad so it's super easy to sketch a model when the idea comes or simply demo to someone. Newly added function - visualization is super easy to use and create the realistic view before jumping into production without difficult of finding correct parameters for rendering the materials.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Sometimes still a little buggy on visualization function. It rarely happens though.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives me super easy and fast way to sketch the product idea. Once we jumps into R&D process, it helps me to review the result and communicate with our manufacturers. And it's syncing with my computer and iPad, so I can do my job anytime anywhere.

  ### 33. Intuitive CAD application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike R. | Lead Product Designer, Guest Lecturer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Shapr3D is easy to learn and use. With a small background in 3D, I didn't need much time trying the app to feel confident that I would be able to put my ideas out and make real projects. In no time I was printing 3D parts I designed in the app.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

No major complaints at the moment. I was quite surprised with the usability on a tablet using a pen. I just find myself reselecting faces all the time, but I'm not sure how to improve that on the product side.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it mostly to learn 3D cad design and 3D printing. I have a small entry-level 3D printer, and by using Shapr3D I can quickly send files to the printer, the output is very good. I also give classes about AR and VR, so often I recommend Shapr3D to my students whenever they need to make their own models.

  ### 34. Amazing app with a very straightforward modeling approach

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan Camilo G. | Founder and design director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

As mentioned before, it's a very straightforward approach on modeling that with a very powerful outliner for design management that will amaze any kind of user. As soon as you have the app on, you'll be modeling something and modifying it in an instant and organizing everything in folders, as complicated as you'd like or may need. Beside that, visualization is awesome and instantaneous.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I find the layout features very impressive but rigid, a bit more freedom is missed as for view development; At least for architectural and interior design, drawing and hatching is a basic that shouldn't be missing. A better handling of bitmaps in visualization, again, a matter of freedom as basic as rotating of a texture.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been using Shapr3D for quite some time and it has become a must-step in early design development stages of our architectural and interior projects. It helps us validate early designs and to prototype space with very few steps, allowing to understand proportions and volumetric relations early on.

  ### 35. Not a toy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kirby W. | Design engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I'm a retired product designer with 40 years experience. I've used AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works, Autodesk 3D Max, Fusion 360 and evaluated just about every 3D CAD tool in existence. For the past 2 years I've been using Shapr3d almost everyday. Nothing has been as intuitive as Shapr3d. Is it the most powerful? No. But I haven't run into anything in my mind that a can't create in Shapr. It impresses me that the developers release updates with new features every month or so and listen to and respond to user's suggestions.

The biggest complain I've hear so far is the price. The pro version, as of this writing, is $239 US per year. Not cheap. But it is also not a toy. This is a serious design app. I do most of my designs on an Apple iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil. Also an expensive setup. But damn, it's worth it! No regrets.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Many of the features that have been rolled out recently are in their early stages. For instance 2d drawings lack some of the features the big boys have but it still very useful. I understand the developers are improving it now. The visualization tool is amazing but not on the level of 3d Max, for instance, but that's a $3,000/year program for movie makers! I don't expect Shapr3d to get there but they are rolling out new features often. Maybe they will!

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid prototyping and taking a vague design concept to final detail.

  ### 36. Full Engineering Design Mobility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill B. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Shapr3D works on the iPad Pro , the second most useful computer in my life of computer use (the first most useful considering the time was the HP 200LX), it works with extreme speed, and the development team is doing handstands to improve the product to bring it up to full creative functional capacity with the industry standards of Solid Edge and Solid Works.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

It takes time to fully develop disruptive products, and Shapr3D has a little way to go replace my main preferred platform, SpaceClaim. Eventually Shapr3D has the prospect of offering freehand creative capacity, and I am really excited about that.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shapr3D's easy file translation allows "anywhere, anytime" presentation of complex models with clarity generated on all platforms I use. I can also create, and have done so, while lying in bed, or while waiting, while held up and while wanting to put down an idea as the thoughts occur.

  ### 37. Shapr3D is awesome and feature rich, but I can't justify the price for hobbies.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris C. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I like how feature rich it is and how frequently new features are released, I like that it is on my tablet and I can take my designs to where I work.
The community post are also really great.
The different exports (especially the 2 drawings)

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I think the price point (especially in a country like South Africa) is a bit high for me to justify for using it just for a hobby.
If I were to be using this for work and could get return on investment it would be a different story.
I get that they need to make money, so I dont blame them.
Maybe paying a bit less for rather 10 designs and you get specific features, like I would use 2d designs rather than visualisation.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think there have been certain companies that have dominated the design market for so long at such high price points, and now Shapr3d has definelty come a shocked the world.
I think where others have been lacking they have come in strong with having the app work so smoothly on mobile devices.
Like I said if I were to make money from woodworking or 3d printing, I would not mind paying for shapr3d because I would be able to afford it, where other software would probably be too expensive.

  ### 38. Mind-blowingly intuitive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabian G. | Trainer in Media Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The built-in video-tutorials that come with every tool and the tutorials provided by the company expose the ideal workflow right away. I have been using various 3D-softwares over the past 3 years and I haven't come across any other application that takes your hand and makes you create wonderful objects on the first day. It's easy to export to other applications such as Ultimaker Cura for 3D-printing. I didn't even have to go through blender to prepare the mesh for the print. It is a lean application that may still lack some functionalities but that's also the beauty of it. I can't wait to see how this software will evolve over the next few years.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

There's quite a few things that I would love to have that are still missing, but many of them are on the official roadmap.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It takes the interface-heavy 3D-modeling from your desktop and enables you to quickly mock up anything on the go. It solves the problem of having to rely on a workstation. Since I'm mostly working in a mobile fashion it is the ideal solution for my 3D-workflows.

  ### 39. My "Go To" app for all ideas I want visualized!!! Great Software!!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noah K. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I love how easy and intuitive it is to learn and produce quality 3D models. There are so many export options - it allows me to use with all other programs I need to make beautiful prototypes. Other CAD software is hard to learn and takes lots of time to make something look good. Shapr has taken the difficult and made it doable for nearly everyone that wants to get an idea from mind, to drawing, to physical prototype. I love it! The Shapr team is quick to respond with any questions and very communicative on any items you need help with/ideas you have to improve the app. Also, there are new updates nearly weekly.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

There are two things I think could be improved - 1) An option for "two finger" undo type (currently 3 finger swipe) - it would be nice to have both options available as it is "two finger" tap in most all other design apps. 2) I would like either a feature in Shapr, or a seperate app, that allows for "explode view" or animation features. This is a lot to ask for an Ipad app - but Shapr is very innovative in making the impossibly difficult, extremely easy to use. Other than that - no complaints! (Those aren't really complaints anyways... just ideas for improvement) Great app overall!!!

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Get the premium! Well worth it and cheaper than most monthly plans of more difficult CAD apps (autodesk, maxon etc.)

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are solving taking complex program features and making them simple to use. They allow a larger user demographic due to the simplicity of the interface they have utiized.

  ### 40. Amazing CAD modelling Software!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jean Claude d. | Storyboard Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The friendly user approach and the way the tutorials are built up to teach you the nuts and bolts of the software are well done.
Bite-size tutorials to learn from that are easy to digest and are not overwhelming or complicated to follow.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

- Not being able to export in .FBX file format.
- Being a storyboard artist that works in the Video game industry. I'm always looking for great easy-to-use software that I could use in my workflow.
- Having the possibility of creating a virtual camera and exporting the camera animations would be amazing.
- Being able to export a turntable video animation presenting the model and, having the option of choosing and viewing the model in 360 degrees with a slider, would be a good thing to have for both presentation purposes and for those who are using the software to a more 2D drawing traditional way, they could use this as a visual aid to position the model in the right perspective.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having access to a greater library of Textures and, being able to use them easily is a wonderful thing. It speeds things up and the drag and drop method to apply the textures to the models is very convenient.

  ### 41. The best experience ever for designing parts.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kourosh G. | Co-Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

First, you don't need a mentor or spend hours learning the software and the app. The learning platform was a brilliant idea from Shapr3D.
I'm in love with the CAD Export / Import feature. I had to spend hours in AutoCAD to get proper shop drawings but with Shapr3D I can finish the work in minutes.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I wish there were a Measurement marking tool as well. (Like Tape Measurement Tool in Sketchup) .

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of access through all my devices and platforms and ease of use

  ### 42. Why I Love Shapr3D

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Shapr3D is Very easy to use & Offers great video-tutorials to show you how and what you can do with each tool. Shapr3D’s Visual Design aspect is great, especially with the woods / Timber colours. I needed to create a 3D model for my HSC Timber Project. I have used other CAD softwares in the past but I struggled to use them and it takes time to know what you're doing. Using Shapr3D allows you to create Quality 3D Models in less time with less frustration. Shapr has an option to convert your 3D model into a 2D drawing which is very handy. Shapr3D’s Support team is extremely helpful & friendly which has an impact on their customers such as myself. I 100% Recommend Shapr3D to anyone that needs to create 3D Designs & Projects.
I Have No Negatives with Shapr3D only Positives & That's why I rate Shapr3D 10/10

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I personally don't have any Dislikes about Shapr3D as everything I needed was great.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a Student in year 12 completing my HSC in Industrial Technology Timber, I needed to create my Timber bedhead along with a 3D Design to add to my portfolio. Shapr3D allowed me to go in-depth with my model and explain the woodworking technique. Shapr3D Has helped me complete my report and learn skills in creating other 3D Designs.

  ### 43. Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin V. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Complex diverse Simplicity while using touch controls makes a great gate in the future of optics.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Lack of USDZ Integration for interactive experiences across swift and react native api's
Poviing extra export options with a start at interactive programming actions in preparation for game engines would be a great foundation for shapr3d's future in optics

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aerospace science that benefits globally while educating the consumer on individual and community interest in the sciences and arts. From optics, communications to asteroid counteraction.

  ### 44. Best all-purpose modeling software I've found

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose L. | Digital Marketing and Technology Integration, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The best part about Shapr3D is the ability to combine workflow between the iPad and the desktop: I often create my models on the iPad, where the touchscreen and pencil make it extremely intuitive, and then bring the model over to my Mac for rendering or exporting to Blender or After Effects.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I'd like to be able to be able to export AR-compatible formats. At the moment I need to use Blender as an in-between.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past I've used Cinema 4D, Strata Studio, and Blender on the desktop. I've also tried a variety of apps on the iPad that just didn't cut it. Not only is this a winner as an iPad app, it's one of the most versatile and powerful modeling apps on the desktop that I've used.

  ### 45. Great Visualization Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian W. | Chief Creative Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I have been using Shaper3D since about the time it was launched. I have done over a hundred projects with it and I find that it really helps me to very quickly visualize concepts for my clients. I also use it to prepare drawings for production. It is very intuitive and easy to use. I find it remarkable how fast I can model something and share it out to my colleagues. I used to use a cad program for modeling, but Shapr3D makes it so much easier. Great product. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get into modeling or looking for a way to model faster and accurately!

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

The new Visualization interface needs to have a lighting control option so that lighting can be added where it is needed to show the textures. I am happy that it is available, but it needs more development.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can quickly and easily create something and share it with my colleagues and clients. I used to have to wait on my design staff to produce a visualization of a concept before sharing the idea with my client. Now I can save them time and get closer to the final product directly with my customer, myself.

  ### 46. Hands down the best iPad app for 3D CAD design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ernie A. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Everything about Shapr3D is intuitive. I was able to learn how to use it without needing to pay for advanced classes.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Now that it's also on the PC, I don't see a downside. I can work on files on the iPad then open them on the PC!

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Shapr3D I can do a quick design to show customers what I'm thinking. Then, if they approve, make a more detailed drawing to take into the shop.

  ### 47. Good iPad 3D modeling app, some issues, want one-time purchase option.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I love the portability of working with iPad, the control system using touch and Apple Pencil, the ability to manager layers, and the ability to visualize creations in AR.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Biggest issue... selection of edges snap settings are too strong for me. You have to zoom in like crazy to select a face.

Also, I wish selection changes showed up in the undo/redo. It's a pain to select multiple things, accidentally draw a line on the grid, and then have to do the selection all over again.

Also, I do not want to sign up for a subscription, but would be happy to pay $10-$20 as a one off to unlock some additional features.

I'm not using it professionally, and signing up for a subscription seems like overkill. But I'd like to be able to export to FBX, OBJ, 3DS, and a few other formats, and unlock 5-10 3D model slots.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to be a character modeler, and use different tools for organic modeling. I use this for designing household construction projects.

It's an excellent tool for that.

  ### 48. Shapr3D should be a MasterClass on getting it right!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex P. | Commercial General Contractor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

It is intuitive, straight forward. The learning curve is short. I was designing large homes within weeks of getting started on Shapr3D.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Dislike is a strong word. I'll say that I wish it had a few more functions for the Architectural and Construction fields.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a Commercial General Contractor. I used to have to explain to employees how I wanted something to look. Now, I simply draw it to scale on Shapr3D.

  ### 49. Shapr3D does 50% of my former SolidWorks jobs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris B. | Managing Director / chief cook, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Additive modelling is very useful once mastered. It does require a slightly different approach.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

The attraction of Shapr3D is its simplicity. It would not be sensible to bloat it into a copy of SolidWorks or Catia. That said, lack of sheet metal support is a show-stopper for many of my projects.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most 3D printing jobs.

  ### 50. Super intuitive 3D software. Perfect for 3D Printing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gregor P. | Senior UX/UI Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Shapr3D can also be used on the iPad, making it perfect for use on the go or from the couch. It's very quick to get started, there are good tutorials, it's intuitive, and you can work very easily and scale. Perfect for quickly creating prototypes and generating them for 3D printing.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Projects in Shapr3D are not yet synchronized across different devices within the same account. However, as I have read, this is in the planning stages. There are a few hiccups, but nothing significant that prevents you from working productively and intuitively. I love it.

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Give it a try! It's worth it.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with the software should be easy and precise down to the millimeter - which it is. I want to implement my ideas quickly as a 3D model - preferably from wherever I feel most comfortable at the moment. Not necessarily on the work computer. That's why I'm happy that it's also available on the iPad.
