Honestly, before PRTG we usually only realized something was wrong after it had already impacted users. A lot of it came down to manual checks and guesswork. Now, with the alerts we’ve set up, we get an early warning before things go south—whether it’s a server running low on disk space, a slow link, or a device that stops responding. What I like less are the presentations and the reports; they are somewhat cumbersome and, well, content-wise okay, but could be better in terms of presentation. When creating reports and adding content, error messages sometimes occur, and the format often needs to be adjusted so that, for example, the display in the PDF does not have certain tables exceeding one page, and similar, more visual things. I use checkmk for monitoring and inventory analysis; it quickly reports issues like CPU or disk usage. It helps to intervene proactively and automatically opens tickets, which is especially useful when different departments work together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The biggest downside is that configuration can become complicated, especially when creating more advanced alerts or trying to fine-tune monitoring to reduce unnecessary notifications. There are a lot of options and settings, so it can take some time to learn where everything is and configure it properly. Some areas of the interface could also be more intuitive and streamlined. SolarWinds helps us proactively monitor our infrastructure and identify performance or availability issues before they become larger problems. It provides centralized visibility into servers, network devices, and critical services, which makes troubleshooting much faster. The automated alerting also reduces the need for constant manual monitoring and helps our IT team respond to issues quickly, improving overall system reliability and uptime. Only two things!

1.- There is no template support to apply to hosts... like in Zabbix or Centreon!

2.- It's a bit difficult to interact with Grafana. (It's possible, but not easy for all users)

It helps us to collect disparate data such as veeam backup status, sql tasks, acronis tasks, failed login, successful login, number of open/sg processes... What I dislike about ManageEngine Applications Manager is that its initial setup and configuration can be complex and time-consuming, especially for large environments, and the user interface can feel cluttered or outdated at times; additionally, integration with third-party tools is somewhat limited, advanced features may require higher licensing tiers, and users often report excessive alert noise that needs fine-tuning, along with occasional performance issues and gaps in documentation or support responsiveness. Difficult to visually monitor entire infrastructure at a time, cannot differentiate between important and less priority alerts unless specified. Database hangs sometimes in case of overload and need mysql reboot. Key configuration is difficult procedure and need lot of learning about regular expressions. We can monitor our infrastructure efficiently with this tool. It sends email alerts when our services have issues, and it lets us monitor CPU levels with core-level details for our entities. It is not possible to put nothing, so if something really needs to be criticized, it would be the handling of BAM and MBI, which can be off-putting at first. But once the necessary learning stage is passed, the tool becomes truly powerful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Centreon allows us to have a comprehensive view of the health status of our infrastructure and to detect many incidents before they become real problems. The assistance in diagnosing during serious incidents is also a major asset. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Pricing models are based on data ingestion volumes, if the size of the data increases heavily, then the cost will also increase very heavily. Maintenance burden will also be very high since we are ingesting all data at one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In this Splunk instance we collect, report, and analyze data related to the devops-managed cloud environments. Since the data become centrally available it becomes very easy to analyze the logs, checking security threats, creating report for account specific data. We have a full control over the infrastructure and it a very high speed data searching. If we find anything vulnerable then we raise ticket immediately to the concerned team in Jira automation.
