"Zimbra"

What do you like best?

What I like most about the Zimbra email client is that I can integrate all my personal and corporate email accounts from any provider in the same work environment, something I can not do with another email client, for example, in Outlook I can integrate the gmail accounts. Another positive point is that with Zimbra I can integrate or remove functionalities (Chat, calendar) from its interface. I can also design my environment in my own way, changing the position of its elements, thus increasing the user's productivity. Other mail clients allow you to change colors and other functions, but you can not delete or integrate new functions and change them. In other words, you can not modify the template. Regarding the technical aspect, configuring email accounts is very simple, while in other environments it is complicated and requires trained personnel for its administration.

What do you dislike?

There are two aspects that from a technical and financial point of view should be taken into account when implementing this mail client. The first is that to work optimally requires good hardware, because it consumes many resources. For a small company, it can be very expensive, regardless of whether the software can be obtained for free, although Zimbra also has a patented version. The other point to consider is the continuity of the service, when the server fails or the service is damaged, the connection of the emails would be lost and the service would have to be implemented again, which takes time. Other email clients provide the service with a distributed infrastructure such as Gmail, although there are faults that always guarantee the continuity of the service.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The main recommendation would be the easy to implement and configure. In addition, the learning curve is low, since the interface is simple and instinctive. Your security when using this mail client is reliable. The only thing that must be taken into account is that it requires expensive hardware for its optimal operation, which increases its cost of implementation

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Because technology is a service area, through Zimbra I can interconnect the users of the Ministry, through its chat service that provides a series of services, such as available contacts, interconnection of groups where you can create a social network among the workers of the Technology Department. This allowed solving problems efficiently and increasing productivity in the resolution of requirements. Another problem that was solved with this suite is that it could replace the Outlook mail client, which is a closed source software, by an open source program, thus fulfilling the presidential decree of not having private software in public institutions.

"Institutional mail of the company"

What do you like best?

The Zimbra tool has a very good functioning feature, but what I like most about this product is the autocomplete of the contacts of the company, you already have the list of contacts to whom you can send an email without having to register them and also the creation of groups by the administrator for mass mailings this option is very good and I like it very much facilitates my work

What do you dislike?

the bad thing about Zimbra or that I do not like it is if the server of the company's server goes down, we can not access the services, this means that the server must have a configuration in high availability to be able to enter Zimbra and compared to the traditional mails from any machine or from anywhere can be accessed without any problem at the time most needed information

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Zimbra as an application is very easy very understandable and very safe but it has a defect that is its interface as a recommendation and as a user I would like the new versions to have a greater presence in the most dynamic interface applied with programming technology such as Ajax or design with angular or Vue.js that makes applications more dynamic and user-friendly

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

One of the most important benefits that I have seen in Zimbra is the way to carry out events through the application with groups of the company for important events and the tool helps a lot to carry out these activities with reminders and follow-ups of the dates in the calendars

"Excellent Collaboration Tool"

What do you like best?

We have used Zimbra for many years and it has only gotten better. It is easy to use and works well. I like the email setup and it has many customization abilities that really help. Contacts are easy to access and update. I also like the calendar share. The calendar share helps when I am out at our remote office.Mostly we use the email portion of the software and it is great. Emails are easy to handle and they are not lost. the user interface is nice but not too much. It is simple to set up and signature and you are able to use different signatures when necessary or desired.

What do you dislike?

The briefcase portion of the collaboration tool is not what I would like it to be. It does work but I would rather it have the ability to share docs and allow multiple people to edit the shared docs that are uploaded to the briefcase. There have been times we have experienced some issue when we upgraded or put in a patch. These were resolved and things ran smooth after this.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is a great software but like any software make sure the network is adequate.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use this too for email and remote collaboration to our Project Managers and remote filed techs. We needed a way to keep everyone on the same page and to make sure our calendars were available to each other. Zimbra was able to help us make this happen.

"Zimbra Experience"

What do you like best?

I like Zimbra because it is a simple platform that is able to organize m information with labels. This platform is really necesary for my job due to we recibe a lot of messages, sometimes it is very difficult to find one of them but zimbra allows create several label for each type of message.. it helps us to organize all the information we receive by the different offices in the institution making it easier the search and saving us valuable time.

What do you dislike?

One of the things that bothers me about using zimbra apart from its unfriendly interface is the fact that I have already lost my user password several times and I have not been able to recover it because I simply do not have this option in the system

Recommendations to others considering the product:

have some patience at the beginning to get used to its interface

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

- Lack of connection between several remote users with internet deficit

- Duplicity of emails

"Zimbra is terrific"

What do you like best?

Besides the clean and intuitive web interface, Zimbra can connect with Outlook, Thunderbird, or any other POP3 or IMAP client. It has the fastest search I've ever used, and will index not only the contents of the email, but also any attachments, including PDF, Word, Excel!

What do you dislike?

If you're using the on-premise solution, as we are, you have to update the host OS yourself. Installing updates to Zimbra, while never having been a problem for us, can be a little unnerving if your organization depends on email as much as ours does. You have to plan for the service to be offline. (although I hear that they are working to make updates install without bringing the services down)

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Email is now available for all 300+ employees, from any device at any location. If they can get on the internet, they can use our Zimbra. Email is now more common the phone calls for most things in our company.

The support is top in industry, you can get a tons of info about everything that you imaging., Spanish language support is good too (Jorge de la Cruz thansk body) In simple terms "Zimbra walks alone".

The posibility of manangin class is very usefull

What do you dislike?

the CLI command permits everything, maybe you can get more in the admin GUI. possibility of managing bulk changes of users, like change password to all users, change class of list of user, track mail by web interface. The more important users roles for admins, a role to managing basics of user like passwords and status. other to admin suitcase space and options be good.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Totally is the best mail system that i ever have (Microsoft and lotus admin)I never turn to see it, aknow that it will be fine

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Be prepared to have strong support team and do not forget to pay your support subscription. It might be a bit complex with setup than our (21 servers) but once everything is setup accordingly, this is a charm.

"Easy solution to complicated tasks"

What do you like best?

Zimbra has a simple User Interface. It's user friendly for low qualified users and to those that are using it for the first time. Zimbra gives opportunity to process, store, sort and share large amount of date in a matter of minutes.

What do you dislike?

It crushes from time to time while being used along with other software. It's hard to get used to search filters. they are hard to use and are not flexible. It has an awful design. It's hard to back up the data when the lights go off or the server's not responding or the internet goes off. It needs to be more safe. It's not easy to export data.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is easy to implement zimbra in almost any business and to manage communications with. If you're looking for a way to connect a lot of employees together then Zimbra is what you need.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I use Zimbra to resolve communication problems to transfer and receive data, staff management and employee control. It's so easy to share information with wide range of devices and to keep the connection going.

"Zimbra is an all-in-one email and collaboration service."

What do you like best?

The ability to share folders, calendars, and address books amongst users, as well as the ability to simulate a Microsoft Exchange server for Windows Outlook users.

What do you dislike?

It can be difficult to administer. The backend is fairly complex, but it is getting better. I don't think you need to be an expert to administer it, but you probably should be. The documentation isn't always that great, but the community support usually makes up for it.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Zimbra collaboration is primarily a backend, not a front-end, although they have a pretty decent webmail client.. You can use pretty much any email, calendar, or address book client that supports standard IMAP, caldav and carddav. There is a community version and a pay-for network version, where you pay per user. We use the Network Edition, so I can't comment on the community version.

We are very happy with the reliability and support of the product. Its rare that we run into a problem we can't solve with community support, but phone support is not always the highest quality. You would use the Network Edition for the added features, not for the phone support.

It uses Postfix as a backend, which I would recommend that you are familiar with before using. If you don't understand how the postfix system works, you will have trouble managing Zimbra. This is not a system for novices.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Email server administration is much easier with Zimbra. It allows us to manage our email server with a number of open-source technologies, including built-in anti-spam, shared calendars, shared address books. We've definitely realized significant savings in the time required to administer IMAP, webmail, etc.

"effective mail solution"

What do you like best?

it's free and simple to use email. I email from a lot of different email addresses and zimbra handles this easily. Easier to use than outlook but still not a match for gmail. The software has an organized but cluttered interface

What do you dislike?

The search function needs a major overhaul. Finding an old email can be a daunting task if you don't know exactly what you are looking for. For example if you had to find an email about a domain name if you don't put the domain in exactly it will not show up. Or an email address but you can't remember exactly, you probably won't get effective search results.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Zimbra works well. It's simple and effective and works just as well as a product like outlook.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I use zimbra as my main emailing platform for SEO and link building. It works well when using several email addresses in 1 window.

"Complete Email Collaboration Suite"

What do you like best?

Zimbra is a good email collaboration suite that offers paid IOS integration. the email search is very fast, the possibility of create a email alias is very interesting. Supports clients for CalDav, CardDav, WebDav and iCal. I use the multi-signature feature for each alias and account, with personalized reply-to. Multi-language support, brazilian portuguese inclusive.

What do you dislike?

The backup system is not flexible. It is very difficult recover only one specific email. Basically need to do a rollback of many messages to find one specific. The email system is very dependent of database server. If there is need of HA solution, it will be very difficult to implement because each server has your own local database server.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Test the community version first. Search a expert vendor, because will be very important in medium solutions.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Zimbra solves our problem that was multi-domain support, with dedicated management and exclusive. Actually, today each domain has your manager with specific views with only your users. Other feature that help us is the possibility to have multi hosts with distributed users accounts. If occurs a host crash, only the users of this hosts will be affected. The others will not feeling none problem.

What do you dislike?

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I've had few problems working with zimbra, and considering its prices, I think I can recommend it without much a doubt. Has features that you can usually find on pricier Sofwatre

"A Great Collaborative e-Mail System"

What do you like best?

One of the best features of Zimbra is collaboration. You can share your mail folders, contact and task lists, work together on a text file, all that defining what kind of level of share a person can have, from view to full control of it. You also have a great search engine that allow you to search even inside some types of archives (pdf, txt, etc). And in the paid version, you have a working backup system.

What do you dislike?

The webmail is heavily dependent of ajax and to access all features you need a good computer and connection. You can still use basic features using the HTML version, but that limits the usability of said interface. Also, most of the features only work using the standard webmail interface. As a administrator, some of the features work better using the command-line interface, for example, if you try to reindex a account or try to restore a backup, you will got a better result or more control using the command-line instead of the web interface.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

You can test it using the community version of Zimbra, however, you need to know that the best features are only available in the commercial version: Search Engine (Lucene) and Backup.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Mainly, collaboration. I work for a University and email are fundamental here. Zimbra allowed us a way to increase the collaboration between teacher, students, and even our workers, allowing them to share files, their agenda, and any information to improve their work.

"Reliable Collaboration and Communication Solution"

What do you like best?

Zimbra delivers much more than just e-mail solution. You can use others features like calendars and file sharing to improve your team communication.

Supports external connectivity like IMAP/POP.

Muli language support and possibility to expansion using plugins are also available.

Supports several platforms and you can use the one that you are most familiar like Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS, Suse, etc.

Support of external authentication (LDAP)

What do you dislike?

Web client interface is poor. It should be renewed and has to consider some usability concerns. Once provides a reliable service for you, improving usability would also significantly improve users satisfaction.

Search tool in web client should be better. Sometimes is hard to find an old message.

Another point is that recovering message backups is a little hard-working. If you are looking for a old and specific message you may need to restore several backups.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Depending on your team or company size and yours requirements you can use the open source edition supported by the Zimbra community. If support is needed you may consider one of the support offerings that they have available.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Team collaboration using e-mail communication, file sharing, task control, invitation for events, etc, for everybody in our company using multi domains and several servers.

"Zimbra is a basic, yet secure and reliable email platform."

What do you like best?

It is a safe, secure, and easy way to book out conference rooms, email confidential information, and invite others to meetings.

What do you dislike?

It's pretty outdated as far as the UI goes. It's ugly and very vintage looking. With all of the apps and modern tech out there, this falls short.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I strongly recommend this if you are looking for something stable, secure, and easy to use but do not need something modern and flashy. It does the job.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are able to easily collaborate, invite to meetings, and conference all at the touch of a button. It stores all of our contacts and shows us who is busy and when so we can seamlessly integrate new meetings and conferences.

"Zimbra supports debian"

What do you like best?

The good thing in zimbra is that it's freesoftware, and can be installed in various GNU/Linux distribution. Also something helpful when you have limited bandwidth is to switch to more efficient modes like mobile mode (url in /zimbra/m/zmain form) or even weaker thin client mode (url in /zimbra/m/zmain?zms=xlite&limit=5 form). Also the system can support external IMAP accounts , this makes zimbra a webmail of choice for several contexts.

What do you dislike?

I wish it to be part of debian archive, it will easier for its deployment and security maintenance. I need to double check but I don't think it supports CardDav for contact synchronization, this would be a good feature, Same for the calendar option maybe CalDav is optional but pretty useless to be if not enabled in system configuration.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Try get used to the mobile version if you don't care of group ware features also you can check cozycloud or owncloud it worth to be checked too if you have limited resources ?

Also if you can read french, I think you can open free account and then evaluate it on zimbra.free.fr

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Consulting email using web interface is mandatory for most people working on different computers. My company used Outlook Web Access (OWA) but most users hated it, so zimbra was a good alternative to consider the switch was announced several time but It unfortunately never happened, I guess migration out of Outlook trap was the main blocker, so I had to make it my own and use IMAP as connector.

"Powerfull Collaboration Tool"

What do you like best?

Besides of e-mail feature, there are a lot of more useful features like calendars and task list. Also provides connectivity through IMAP/POP, CalDAV and CarDAV to external clients. Possibility to use and develop plugins (Zimlets) and multi language support are features that I consider very important due to multiusers enviroment and expansibility.

What do you dislike?

User web interface could be more friendly, but it is enough for daily use.

Message backup recovery is not a simple activity.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

You can try the community or trial version first to get to know Zimbra suite.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Reliable solution for collaboration and communication inside and outside work environment that supports a lot of users.

Scheduling meetings and a calendar to control appointment are some very useful tools to our users.

"Zimbra - Usable but mediocre"

What do you like best?

Tabbed format for various applications within Zimbra, color-coded calendar that syncs with Google calendar, search feature in email, inclusion of draft emails as tabs alongside applications, away message capability, small calendar in lower left hand corner of email pane, ability to view messages that are linked as one conversation (although that's a fairly standard feature for email at this point), sorting options for email, being able to search email by size of message and to narrow down based on whether it has an attachment.

What do you dislike?

Inability to keep spam out of inbox, settings not intuitive, regularly crashes or has problems, doesn't perform mass emailing without causing mass blockage, not being able to easily identify the current folder for a message when performing a search of email, poorly functioning document sharing (doesn't compare to Box or Dropbox), the way you can't highlight and copy an email when it's listed in the "to" or "from" fields.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's still not up to the same standard as Gmail or Yahoo mail. If you're used to those, Zimbra may seem lacking in organizational options.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I work to make our project run as efficiently as possible, with focus on administrative tasks that take time away from focusing on the content on our work. The Zimbra calendar is probably the most useful/efficient application within the suite in terms of efficiency. Having a search feature for email is also helpful, especially since you can search by the size of the email to efficiently reduce the storage being used rather than combing through emails to find large attachments to delete.

"Full Time Zimbra User"

What do you like best?

Zimbra has a number of features that are attractive to our business. First and foremost are the persona capabilities; we provide contractors to our clients and the ability to create different personas for each of our contractors, and in turn their ability to switch between them seamlessly is very important to our business.

What do you dislike?

Generally, I am not a big fan of Zimbra. The UI has an older feel to it, like the old desktop Microsoft Outlook... it could use a refresh. There are a few other minor UI complaints, but my biggest problem is overall speed; I find that Zimbra moves painfully slowly, specifically the calendar functionality. It takes upwards of 10 seconds for the calendar to register a click, which causes me endless headaches as I click and then often double click before knowing if it is working or not. Creating and editing events is painful.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With Zimbra, we have solved the problem of how to assign our contractors to multiple clients. The use of personas via Zimbra have allowed our employees to work as contractors with an unlimited number of clients, integrated into their normal business functions, all the while keeping email communication housed within our servers for QA and security purposes.

"Its a good email client "

What do you like best?

The calendar is great, I like it more than most other's. Easy to color code and read when sharing between groups.

What do you dislike?

I guess it could look nicer, it is very functional but doesn't look to plesent which could make users stray away from it

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Its not the most popular email platform but I really like it, it is very easy to use and makes a lot of sense when trying to do things,

"Acceptable, but low-tech"

What do you like best?

A HIPAA-compliant e-mail server with option to create files for cloud storage.

What do you dislike?

Fairly low tech with few features that more popular platforms such as gmail have. Difficult to put on a smartphone for easy access - an app would be great. Also, users are logged out frequently, often in the middle of drafting an email.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Fairly easy to use e-mail accounts for an organization with many employees.

"Mail System Exceeds Expectations"

What do you like best?

We use Zimbra in our office and it is very effective, as it is integrated into our CRM. We can easily set the client account and make all emails visible staff-wide.

What do you dislike?

I cannot easily copy an existing calendar entry to create a similar entry. I constantly have to create entries from scratch.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Definitely consider Zimbra a leading competitor in the emailing marketplace!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Zimbra solved our inability to share emails staff-wide without blowing up each other's inoxes. This has benefited us by spending less time sorting through unnecessary emails, but rather having them nicely filed away into our client.

"Easy to use for basic email and calendaring"

The email system tends to crash often, which is very disruptive.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you are looking for a basic email and calendaring system, Zimbra is good.

"Zimbra, an old email client for old people"

What do you like best?

There isn't much I like about Zimbra, maybe the fact that it will send mail between stores and management, but other than that I have more complaints than anything. The one thing it does right is text formatting in the email client is relatively streamlined, so you don't have to rely on html code or other frustrating tagging.

What do you dislike?

Zimbra mail is very old and outdated. There are many many better clients that you can use for inter communication between management and associates through email. Zimbra has a very dated user interface that seems like it hasn't been updated since windows 95.; It's extremely gray and dull, and lacks the responsive environment that other software solutions such as microsoft outlook or google mail offers. It's extremely dull and hard to read emails at times because of this. If emails have pictures embedded in to them, you will have to view the image in pieces because the viewing window is so small! That's completely unacceptable in today's modern computing world.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Please don't even consider moving over to Zimbra unless you are over the age of 50. There are many other quality products through other software companies that do it so much better,

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

One of the business problems that is being solved is communication between stores and management. Contacting other stores by phone can be inefficient when they are dealing with customers and you need to have them record important information about a shipment, or even a congratulations message from another store. One of the few benefits is that it is elderly friendly, and wont overwhelm people who are used to broken, old software that is clunky and poorly designed.

"One of the best cost benefit option"

What do you like best?

One of the best cost benefit option to run on premises solution, now a days I can see two big collaboration suites and Zimbra it's one of them, with the paid plug-in option, you can access by mobile devices using activesync that's similar to Microsoft Exchange standard, the web interface is light too, so it's fast to load in poor internet connections.

What do you dislike?

Poor integration with Microsoft Outlook editors for desktops, in many cases can be traumatic move users directly to web interface, talking about the web interface, is light, but isn't too user friendly.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Improvements in the integration with desktop editors based in Microsoft Exchange Outlook and reduce the gap between zimbra and collaboration public clouds, as I said before, the collaboration public providers is driven this market, and everyone ask for functionalities that you can found on public providers, in some case, the users start to use this personal public tools to work

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The solution before was a simple e-mail solution, based on qmail, basically the Zimbra help us to have a Collaboration Suite, the big problem in this area is the fact that your services constantly will be compared with collaboration public providers, now a days our users want something more close to Gmail, Hotmail....

I like the advance search options and how it is easy to piece together queries in order to retrieve emails. Additionally the ability to make aliases and personas is extremely useful.

"would like better mobile experience"

What do you like best?

The web version is good. The options are simple and there's no extra features cluttering the tabs or side panels.

What do you dislike?

I don't like the mobile experience because when I delete an email, the page does not refresh and it stays on the page of the deleted email. Also, I'm not able to forward html emails and keep its original format--everything turns into plain text. i also struggle when trying to copy and paste an email addresses from senders because the outside of the email content itself, everyone shows up as full names, and what I'd like to do is highlight all emails that I need and paste them onto a new email.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

"Zimbra Review"

What do you like best?

Zimbra allows for emails to be sent back and forth easily between Zimbra users. They have also made sending meeting invites easy among Zimbra users.

What do you dislike?

Zimbra is not as compatible with other non-Zimbra users. This program has been difficult to use in terms of scheduling meetings, making appointments, searching for previous emails, organization email folders, etc.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would take into considerations the easy of information sent between non-Zimbra users. I would also ask for a trial period to where a few key members can use Zimbra for a minimum of a month to see if this program is right for you.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As of right now there are no benefits to Zimbra except the fact it allows emails to be sent.

"Zimbra for ABA Company"

What do you like best?

The ability to have alias's on this platform is one that I've never used before. Although I'm sure other platforms have it, I was just never aware of it.

What do you dislike?

It doesn't have any extra features than other e-mail platforms, and it's not as aesthetically pleasing as others.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Out of all the business email platforms I used, I liked Microsoft 365 Office the best.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"zimbra mail service"

What do you like best?

Simple interface for chat functionality. You can simply add the user from the list of available users on intranet. You can also add the tasks like to-do list. I like the calendar, tasks and preferences feature.

What do you dislike?

User interface is not good. They need to improve upon the user experience. Can add rich experience for attachment, draft. Can increase the storage limit per user.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

In my college, we were using zimbra collabration suite for mail service. It provides functionality like search for a user, you can also chat with the contacts.

"Simple, easy software without a lot of features"

What do you like best?

Zimbra is a very clean, easy to use interface that gets the job done. It is what it is: an email program, and sometimes that is all that you need.

What do you dislike?

Zimbra is not bad software, but it's very simple software. I actually used it when I was in college as that is what they had our email server set up on, but then switched to Outlook and Lotus in the workplace. Now I am back at Zimbra, and I am missing some of the functionally that Lotus had (although not missing all its quirks, I'll admit.) Things that were easy in Lotus, like stationary, out-of-office messages, and even folders are more difficult or non-existent in Zimbra. I feel like it is much better suited to a school environment or one that requires very little email.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's fast and simple and easy to use. For those who aren't worried about the details and nuances, it gets the job done.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I honestly wouldn't say I was solving problems by using it, but for those who are not as familiar with email or computers it is a good, easy to use tool in the workplace that requires little to no training.

"Great Webmail Platform"

What do you like best?

We used the Zimbra webmail platform at a company I worked for, providing webmail interfaces for a number of ISPs throughout the USA. Zimbra was pretty easy to support, from a Tier 2 perspective. The features were very easy to train end users on. I think the filters were the easiest to teach. It isn't fancy by any means, but it definitely gets the job done. The OEM capabilities were also good for what we were using it for.

What do you dislike?

There wasn't anything I could say from my dealing with it that I didn't like. The interface itself was clean, and it definitely provided an excellent way for our client's user base to check their email over the web.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were using it to provide a webmail interface to ISPs across the USA. It was a great alternative to building something in-house for each ISP.

"Using Zimbra at Work"

What do you like best?

I like the easy to use and simple interface, the integration with other services and the fact that is compatible with all the browsers, including mobile interfaces.

What do you dislike?

Some of the functionalities of the software are only available on the commercial version, so one must be a proficient user on linux to do the job well, backing up all the system´s content.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Providing a private and secure email solution that is both pleasant and functional, allowing organizations to collaborate, control and organize their email and services.

"Convenient E Mail "

What do you like best?

This is a very simple and useful Email client. We use it company wide (30 people) and it is accurate and open source which is always important.

What do you dislike?

The syncing sometimes seems off. There could be more real-time information.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I think as long as it is a smaller company, you could easily use zimbra as your mail client. Especially since it is open source, and technically "free."

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

A calendar that is easily customizable. Free Email.

"Zimbra"

What do you like best?

This product simply sends emails back and forth between employees. This is the biggest advantage

What do you dislike?

Zimbra runs as if it was developed in the 1990s, and had I been living in the 1990s, I would have thought this product was a great tool and insight into managing businesses from an emailing and scheduling perspective. However, there are much more current and efficient technology available for people to use.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Conduct a minimum 2 month trial period with key faculty/staff. This will give you an idea if this product is right for you.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As of right now, no business problems are being solved.

"Zimbra used for email"

What do you like best?

The price-point for the software as well as the features that were offered was a great balance for the needs of the company.

What do you dislike?

With the customization options comes a lot of time to set them properly for the users.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

We needed to send out instructions to each user on how to understand the layout and set preferences. I'm not sure if the IT team ran out of time or just did not know how/did not know the need to create default profiles to meet those needs.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We needed an internal email system that would not connect to external internet. Zimbra allowed us to deploy a system on our private network that linked studios in 3 countries.
