Review Summary

Generated using AI from real user reviews
Users consistently praise Xcode for its seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem, which simplifies the development process for iOS and macOS applications. The all-in-one environment, featuring tools like the simulator and debugging capabilities, enhances productivity and streamlines workflows. However, many note that it can be resource-intensive, leading to slow performance on larger projects.

"Xcode is not the best"
What do you like best about Xcode?

Using the main storyboard makes it easy to place the different view inside the view controller and being about to see it in real time. It is mostly user-friendly based on its UI attributes. I like how you can add extensions to the project an use it to define the constraints of the views. I also like how the software can debug itself by instead of just showing that there is an error. It gives you what you need to fix the error, which is really helpful. I also like that Xcode code already has some protocols memorized int he software so that you don't have to write out the protocols. That's the same for doing func, classes, and objects. It remembers the name of the object and once it is recalled you don't have to type it out. It really makes it very sufficient. Xcode is also pretty easy to understand quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

I don't like how it comes up with all of these errors when connecting to GitHub specifically when you use the storyboard. It is better when done programmatically , but is more time consuming. I also don't like how sensitive

Xcode is at times. There could be absolutely nothing wrong with your project and there is still an error that pops up. It is also not the easiest to more than one person working on a project at once. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best tool for IOS Applications"
What do you like best about Xcode?

It has been the best tool till now I have used for IOS application development, deployed more than 10+ application on Appstore using this. Initially, it was a Lil bit difficult task to deploy an application and also the certificate creation part using Xcode, but last year with a major update Xcode team made the process smooth, Now we can generate a certificate using just a click an also the deployment process has been simplified. But have to agree it has the best emulator experience ever got from any other provider, easy to use and lag-free, gives you a proper report for all the issues and makes the development process simpler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

It still takes a lot of time to deal with new functionality as old version packages/libraries are never supported by the newer version so sometimes its very difficult to make the app consistent over all the other platforms too. I have faced this issue with many of my clients as well as for our products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Xcode has what you need to create iOS apps."
What do you like best about Xcode?

Xcode is a free platform to develop iOS software. Xcode has a great UI and tutorials to help you get started. The ability to simulate iPhones and iPads when designing an app or testing how it would look on this app is very helpful. The Xcode debugging software is very good and helpful at times. The UI creator is very neat and helpful when working on the early stages of a project. Auto completion of code works great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

Sometimes my builds get stuck and never finish running. To actually export your app is a long and sometimes frustrating process. The App Store approval process also takes a very long time. Users need to have a Mac in order to use Xcode. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
