## About Waterline Data Catalog
Waterline Data Fingerprinting works by analyzing the data values in each data set and profiling the data. Waterline Data then uses that information to create a fingerprint for each column of data—using machine learning to intelligently and automatically tag and match data fingerprints to glossary terms and populate the data catalog. Users can then refine matched terms, and remaining unmatched terms, through crowdsourcing.

**What do you like best about Waterline Data Catalog?**

I appreciate its automated data discovery feature, where I can quickly and easily discover and catalog data assets across multiple sources, saving me a lot of time and effort compared to manually entering data. Another feature I find particularly useful is its data lineage feature, which visually represents the data flow across different systems, making it easier to understand how data is used and where it came from.

**What do you dislike about Waterline Data Catalog?**

The automated data discovery and classification features are very helpful, but you need to invest time in learning how to use these features and how to navigate the platform. It requires training to use Waterline Data Catalog effectively.

**What problems is Waterline Data Catalog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Waterline Data Catalog's data policy enforcement capabilities have helped us ensure that data is managed and governed appropriately. With the ability to configure data policies, we are rest assured that data is being handled following relevant regulations and guidelines. Its automated features have saved us time and effort. At the same time, its visual representations and policy enforcement capabilities have given us greater confidence in the quality and governance of the data we use.
