**What do you like best about Viafoura?**

I like Viafoura's automatic comment moderation, which helps reduce the time spent on moderating comments by using AI and human moderators. This allows our staff to focus more on creating content. I also appreciate how we can configure Viafoura so that only subscribers to our website can post comments, increasing the value proposition for our subscribers. Moreover, using Viafoura has improved our site's recirculation with features like the 'most commented' widgets, which display the top three stories with the most comments.

**What do you dislike about Viafoura?**

Setting up admin users is a little funky. The user has to have an account on our website and must have interacted with the comments in order to be promoted to admin. This is only an issue because a lot of our staff share a single account or use a personal email address for their site account. It's just a little odd compared to the typical vendor account set up. Our initial setup was a little more complicated because we had to integrate Viafoura with Auth0 to ensure that users were authenticated and entitled to comment.

Viafoura moderates comments using AI, freeing staff for content creation. Subscribers-only comments enhance value, while 'most commented' widgets boost recirculation.

**What do you like best about Viafoura?**

I really appreciate the Viafoura comment module that we use primarily, almost exclusively. It allows people to comment under our articles and works very well for customer retention and loyalty. Moreover, it is very comprehensive and helps us have monthly statistics that show what is going well. It's a very useful tool, and I would give it a rating of 9 out of 10, definitely something I would recommend to my colleagues.

**What do you dislike about Viafoura?**

The live chat and live blogging from Viafoura were replaced by another service that was too expensive for our needs, so we don't use them. There is also a small bug between our sites that still hasn't been fixed for a year.

**What problems is Viafoura solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find that Viafoura allows for increased user engagement and retention through the comments module, which is essential for our site and applications. Users can comment and react to our articles, which builds customer loyalty.

**What do you like best about Viafoura?**

I really like Viafoura's functionality out of the box, which is great. All the components and the styling are very simple, easy to use, and easy to integrate. The documentation provided for our dev teams is exceptional, and I appreciate the simplicity of taking it out of the box and using it on our site. There's also customization that allows us to make it our own and fit it within our site. The relationship we've had with Viafoura support and our rep has been great. We get help and guidance when needed, along with links to documentation. I always appreciate the relationship I have with Viafoura.

**What do you dislike about Viafoura?**

I mean, we have frequent spam accounts that will leave, like, a generic spam comment, and we usually self moderate because they are tricky. They don't include any hateful language or things like that, but they are spam, and it's, like, product promotion. So I think we, in partnership with Viafoura, could do a better job of the auto moderation of some spam comments and then removing accounts accordingly or banning accounts as needed.

I use Viafoura to allow users to engage through commenting, create accounts, join our community, follow topics and authors, stay updated with our latest content, and receive notifications, which opens the door for further community engagement.

I appreciate Viafoura because the extension is easy to use, and their team made it incredibly easy to set things up. The whole process, from kickoff to onboarding and the QA process, was very organized. As a project manager, it’s nice to have a partner who is organized, making it clear what our team needs to do to get different functions live. The instructions they provided to our dev team were straightforward, and they gave us a comprehensive timeline to follow. They were also quick to support us whenever we had questions. Overall, my experience has been great, and I would rate it 10/10, definitely recommending it.

**What do you like best about Viafoura?**

We have been working with Viafoura since 2023, and we were able to implement their tools on our websites with minimal time and effort, and the Viafoura team supported us throughout the process. Our team has been collaborating with Laura, who is always quick to respond to any questions we have and stays updated on the work our development team is doing. This allows her to offer helpful suggestions on how we can make the most of Viafoura in the future. Additionally, the development team has assisted us in resolving some coding issues we encountered with the platform. All in all, this is a wonderful product and has helped grow our online community.

**What do you dislike about Viafoura?**

The Viafoura admin panel can be somewhat confusing to navigate. I don't use it frequently, but whenever I do, I find myself needing to re-familiarize myself with where different options are, like the Site Settings.

The tools developed by Viafoura made it easy for us to add a commenting feature to our articles, along with several other tools designed to boost user engagement. As a result, we have seen an increase in both traffic and ad revenue for our company. Additionally, this solution has relieved our development team from having to create and maintain a custom implementation themselves.

I like that Viafoura appears to be working as a value generator or churn reducer for subscribers. I appreciate that it has some AI features to help with moderation. I also like that our Terms of Service with Viafoura and users allows us to reach out to commenters for the purpose of journalism or reporting.

**What do you dislike about Viafoura?**

I want better moderation from the AI tool. Fewer false positives. A better way to greenlight certain terms (or to ban them). I would like some Slack integrations.

Working with Viafoura was easy our account manager made sure we always had what we needed at all times and went above and beyond to help with our timelines.

In a world with tons of third party services this is another one to implement. Viafoura has a pretty good product and as a developer it wasn't difficult to setup at all, its just another thing to maintain.

Viafoura was brought in to provide a commenting solution. While I did not have much experience with using viafoura I do know the product manager on our side responsible for it and she was very excited about what they were doing for us and what was possible.

I like that it makes it easier for us to monitor comments on our website a and see what topics our communities are most engaged with. I also like that we can engage with our community in a more interactive way through the polls.

I wish that we could personalise things more to our sites needs, but with the things we've wanted to change so far, more poll options for example, they have been very responsive to our requests.

Viafoura is an easy to use platform for moderating comments on  blogTO. The userface is simple and I never get confused about where to go/what to click on. Our representative, Laura, is the best!!!!

Honestly, not much I dislike...maybe just that it could offer a few more customization options?

blogTO often get a lot of comments from readers and half the time they're really dark, disrespectful and we needed a platform to help us flag stuff quickly. Laura was really great at proving me with a tutorial.

As with any pre-existing platform Viafoura has a semi-rigid set of integration opportunities, so if you have particularly unique integration needs then you may be better off augmenting Viafoura's features with CDP-type tools.

What I like best about ViaFoura is how seamless and well-supported the entire experience has been. The platform itself is user-friendly and reliable, but what truly sets it apart is the team behind it, especially Laura, our Growth Customer Experience Manager. Her communication is always clear and organized, and she genuinely makes us feel supported every step of the way. The proactive follow-ups, both during onboarding and post-launch, have made a big difference. Plus, the moderation tools help ensure our community feels safe and well-managed, which is incredibly important to us.

What I’ve found most challenging with ViaFoura hasn’t been the platform itself, but rather the internal development work required on our end to fully implement and integrate it. While ViaFoura’s team was supportive and communicative throughout, we did run into a few technical hurdles that took more internal resources and coordination than initially expected.

Their approach to customer care and communication should be studied — it's that effective. Viafoura is strategic, proactive, responsive and deeply invested in our business goals and journalism needs. They are clear and correct about ease of implementation, ease of use, their own feature roadmaps and how we might improve the efficacy of our reader engagement strategies. A real partner.

I don't have any feedback about downsides. Where there is a product wish or a business hurdle we are trying to solve I trust that Viafoura and we will find a better road together.

The collaboration between Viafoura and Radio-Canada is nothing less than exceptional. The feedback and the answers on requests are so quick and valuable we often feel like we are working on the same team a not with a provider.

Sean is always up for a challenge, he answers quickly and is really proactive on give us the best feedback possible to help us enrich our users experience. The developpers on their teams are also so quick finding solutions to the issues we are facing, we could not wish for a better collaboration right now.

I'm just beginning exploring their CMS Quicksight, I feel there some room to make it a bit more user friendly but nothing to complain about right now.

From the first onboarding call right through the launch day the Viafoura team was an absolute pleasure to work with. We got all of the features set up with ease thanks to the great documentation and amazing customer support from the team. Our community really has enjoyed the features so far.

The analytics dashboard is a bit confusing when you are first getting started.

They are very upfront. They know our integration of their tool very well, and they are eager to share data beyond what we can get ourselves with our internal reporting, and their Quicksight platform. Sean is always ready to help, as are their developers. The relationship between our development team and theirs seem fluid and easy.

The back-office for a non-user does not seem like the most user-friendly, but I may not have all configurations that a user has. I am a product manager so I don't use the tool on a daily basis. I have not heard complaints from users and moderators.  
I feel like our integration of the tool is the downside, meaning that there seem to be a lot of low-hanging fruits for us. Sean and Dalia are quick to spot our blind spots in our implementation, so that is always appreciated and helpful.

It's very easy to use. Moderation consoles were easy to set up, settings are clear and easy to change. Support has been very good during implementation and when issues come up. Our weekly calls have been very helpful in learning more about the tools and with suggestions from the Viafoura team for increased reader engagement.

We use auth0 for subscriber logins to our websites. This has caused some confusion with logins for our internal moderators and also issues with roles for live blogging. It has affected the way we handle editing on live blogging when there are multiple people contributing to the content.

We implemented Viafoura to take the place of an outdated and hard to maintain commenting platform. It has allowed us to improve the way we moderate comments and has given us a live blogging tool. Viafoura is a great looking, user-friendly commenting section with lots of cool features. It's easy to register, easy to use, and easy to navigate. The Profile, Feed and Community are great features. We also like that Viafoura sends email notifications when users receive a reply to their comment. Viafoura also has a great admin & tracking dashboard. Lastly, Viafoura has exceptional customer support. They're quick to respond via email or Slack, and are proactive about engaging with us, to optimize our implementation of VF. I was part of the email notification setup team, and VF was easy to work with when intergrating those into our branding.

**What do you dislike about Viafoura?**

From my perspective, I don't see anything unhelpful or any glaring downside to using VF as of yet. I have limited experience with other commenting platforms that could compare to VF. However, one small change I'd like to see is that the email notifications toggle switch defaults to "ON" instead of "OFF". Also, I've noticed the email notification toggle switches itself "OFF" automatically on some of my accounts. I haven't check that recently. The other small dislike I had with VF occured when I was testing the email notifications. Some of the benign comments that I posted, would go into moderation and even get rejected on some of our websites. While other times, my comments posted immediately. Maybe the moderation settings were extra sensitive at that point? Also, the time of the comment moderation process seemed to vary from a minute or 2, to up to 15 minutes. I haven't tested this lately, but it was noticable while I was testing the email notfications. I'd also like to see more email performance data in the VF dashboard using common email tracking points like: Sent, Bounced, Opened, Clicked, etc.

Viafoura has been a true partner in launching commenting on our sites. At each decision point and roadblock they have been quick to get us any information that helps us move forward with stakeholder approval.

They also offer a level of moderation that creates comfort for our brands and their advertisers. Several of our sites had previously had comments and we decided to abandon them with a previous partner as the amount of work it took to keep them from turning toxic was too much, but Viafoura has made it a breeze and the communities are flourishing as a result.

Initial launch with viafoura was shakey not due to any failurwe on their side, but because we were a new type of partner for them and the documentation was still being built out. 
They weere able to turn this into a positive and itnegrate a lot of our feedback quiuckly though.

The implementation and integration of the different Viafoura components is pretty straight-forward. The documentation is detailed, although sometimes I felt like some information was missing, but Viafoura support team was always available to clarify any doubts.

**What do you dislike about Viafoura?**

The most frustrating part of working with Viafoura, on a development standpoint, is that most of its components do not work on localhost. This has forced us to make many manual deployments in our sandbox environment to make sure the features work as expected. This was particularly cumbersome when trying to fix a bug, because you have to try and see if some small adjustments in the code do the trick. So you might be only modifying one line of code, but it was taking me +15min to see the impact of the change because I had to build the bundle and then deploy it in our sandbox environment.

Sometimes the procedures for doing things can be long winded - it would be better to be able to ban people directly from the comment. There is a way of doing this currently, but it rarely works.

Viafoura ensures that our commenters have a safe and enjoyable experience in our forums. It clears the majority of bad actors by way of a sensitive AI filter which cuts the moderation down hugely. It makes it very easy to find users and view their histories - again this comes in very handy when deciding whether or not to ban a user. The system cuts down on traffic for us and allows us to keep a tight rein on safe spaces.

Viafoura allows us to increase user engagement (time on page, pageviews per session)  and actively supports our subscription business by providing a value proposition for users to become registrants and for registrants to become paying customers.

**What do you like best about Viafoura?**

The helpful feedback provided by Jeannie in the team, helps us to reaffirm that we are on the right track. Examples of what's worked with other publishers has led to us creating similar content as well. It makes my job in telling the newsroom easier when we have statistics to back it up.

**What do you dislike about Viafoura?**

The log-in process is difficult and is sometimes a struggle to find what I'm looking for when I am in the back end of the website.

We are creating an online community which is helping to keep subscribers on our websites. One website is doing better than the other, and the data and feedback from Viafoura help me shape my advice and push the importance of the comments section.
