What I dislike about Sailthru by Marigold is that its interface and setup can feel complex and overwhelming, especially for smaller teams or those without technical support. The learning curve is steeper compared to more beginner-friendly platforms, and some of the advanced features require deeper configuration or developer resources to fully leverage. Additionally, reporting and analytics, while powerful, can sometimes be harder to interpret without customization.

I like how powerful Sailthru by Marigold's behavioral personalization and 360° customer profiling are. It really helps us move beyond generic email marketing by understanding user behavior across our website and campaigns. This way, we can deliver hyper-targeted messaging that resonates with our Hong Kong audience. The automation builder is extremely flexible, allowing us to create complex customer journeys without needing any coding skills—covering things like welcome sequences, cart abandonment, and re-engagement flows. I also value the deep analytics and insights it offers, which are crucial for measuring performance clearly and optimizing campaigns in real-time.

**What do you dislike about Sailthru by Marigold?**

The user interface feels outdated in certain parts and can be slow at peak hours, which affects daily workflow efficiency. Some of the analytics dashboards are not as flexible as we’d like, making it harder to build custom reports for local stakeholders quickly. Suggestions for improvement include fully customizable dashboards to build our own widgets, faster real-time analytics, better multi-touch attribution, and more localization for Hong Kong users.

Customer support leaves much to be desired. There is a steep learning curve, especially when it comes to advanced features such as Zephyr scripting. The reporting tools can feel fragmented or cumbersome to navigate. Additionally, the segmentation options are limited, and the email template builder is quite basic.

I like the ease of the product. it's best for smaller teams and is easier to implement than SFMC. The ease of audience builder and lifecylce optimizer is my favorite.

When I have harder problems to tackle, support is not always equipped to deal with it. When it is pushed to the engineers, it takes a long time to get an answer and that is not always okay for my team.

ST allows for ease of setup for marketing automation, clean drag and drop templates, and easy analytics on the ST database. It allows for multiple ways to automate emails.

It is an amazing platform for e-mail advertising with advanced automation and analytics. Users can build e-mail templates with the use of the drag and drop characteristic. Sailthru supports dynamic electronic mail content. Its consumer interface is tremendous.

The location of the listing is difficult for the user which makes them irritated as it takes more time. Dealing with a lot of customers but in this case, the backward capability is hard to maintain. The user interface is not attractive.

The software comes with the easy to integrate features and supports straightforward functionality. You will get the best insight, customer support, and report analytics using this software. Furthermore, sail thru the present platform and make them worth trying out for standing above all.

So, Sailthru software is the uploading of suppression and manual list without any automated feature. The software is built with the inability to amend any feature and there are no summaries or any sort of customer guide available.

**What do you like best about Sailthru by Marigold?**

We found the platform fairly easy to integrate and migrate everything over from our old platform. Usability is very straightforward as we were able to set up all of our campaigns fairly easily. Reporting/analytics/insights could use a little work but are definitely good enough to get you what you need. Probably of most importance is that their support is quick and very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Sailthru by Marigold?**

While the platform is pretty easy to use, for the most part, some things are a bit clunky and seem to require extra steps (e.g. rescheduling certain types of campaigns after editing) but I'm sure there's some weird backend reason why. Also, some basic reporting seems to be missing (e.g. simple mobile/desktop splits) and there are limited frequency caps if using their overlays.

**What problems is Sailthru by Marigold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The real value for us has been the data feeds and dynamic content modules allowing us to automate the bulk of our sends, freeing up limited resources to focus on growing our email channel.

Overall, it is very good. Good stats/reporting. Interface looks better than most of the competitors.

The only downside is the organization of campaigns in folders and the process of setting up a campaign could be a bit easier.

Sailthru handles all of my email campaigns. Our email team is the single one that uses Sailthru. Each of our automated email servers, and also batches and flash mailings, are powered by Sailthru. This has benefited us in delivering personalized emails to varied lists. This has erased the necessity for us to personally compose the whole of our emails.

**What do you dislike about Sailthru by Marigold?**

Our firm offers a customization product that we would like to combine with Sailthru. However the absence of API support for integrating with external systems makes this more complicated than it ought to be.

I liked that we could easily code more advanced dynamic content in the email body and for the send name. It was great working with the Sailthru reps as well, and they were very knowledgeable.

**What do you dislike about Sailthru by Marigold?**

I didn't particularly like that we had to upload recipient lists & suppression lists manually, rather than having audiences flow through dynamically and more advanced segmentation features. I also found it difficult to search for sent emails by typing terms into the search bar.

**What problems is Sailthru by Marigold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used Sailthru to send out various campaigns (both batch sends and triggered). I found it a helpful platform when using dynamic content in email sends. I also like that when uploading a list, we didn't need to wait a long time for a data refresh.

I like how much A/B testing we can do, how easy it is to build out emails, and how helpful the SailThru team has been. I also really appreciate the LO flows, we've been building out our win back campaigns, and it's been so helpful.

**What do you dislike about Sailthru by Marigold?**

I would love to see some changes to the analytics portion of the platform -- being able to customize my dashboard and summaries more would be so helpful (we tend to look at total open rate and click to open rate in addition to unique OR and CTOR, and it'd be great to have a way to see those overall stats at a glance).

**Recommendations to others considering Sailthru by Marigold:**

I think it's a great investment for your email lists -- they're extremely helpful and offer a lot of tools to grow and manage your email lists and keep them healthy.

We're working on ways to draw in more subscribers and retain them. It's been so helpful being able to A/B test so many elements of our newsletters with ease.

The lifecycle optimizer. The logic is challenging to grasp, especially for complicated reactivation strategies. We need to make the logic & flow easy to understand.

Everything with Sailthru is highly user-friendly. I appreciate that Sailthru truly cares about their client's experiences and that they take feedback and incorporate it into their quarterly/yearly updates. I look forward to the "Shipped by Sailthru" emails and the Quarterly Business Reviews as it provides some new ideas for different strategies that I can incorporate within my job.

**What do you dislike about Sailthru by Marigold?**

There are some minor things I would change (i.e., being able to delete saved rows); however, most of the changes I would make are simply quality of life improvements that don't affect the overall functionality negatively.

**Recommendations to others considering Sailthru by Marigold:**

I highly recommend meeting with Sailthru clients whose business/goals most line up with yours so that you can get a better understanding of how they use the platform.

**What problems is Sailthru by Marigold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Like most e-commerce retailers, we've been struggling with how to navigate an (almost) post-COVID world. We were fortunate to acquire a lot of new customers during the peak of the pandemic; however, as more local stores begin to open back up, we're focusing on retaining the customers that we accumulated. Sailthru's prediction manager has been highly beneficial as we can suppress users who are likely to opt-out. Because of the increase in new customers, naturally, our email list increased as well, so this feature allows us to retain those email addresses for a longer period of time.

Hosted pages are great. Plus, being able to have litmus testing embedded under one roof is great.

It's not a true customer data platform where I can simply apply a number of segmentation filters and get the desired segment. Everything is based on list membership which can get hairy.

It has a great user interface for marketers and teams that want to build newsletters via content feeds.

**What do you dislike about Sailthru by Marigold?**

Sailthru isn't designed to play nicely with other systems.  If you want to pull a list of users that are subscribed via an API, they hash the emails, so you can't integrate it with your CDP.  If you want to export your data, so you can have a single view of the customer, they don't have a easy way to pull the data.  They just drop data into S3 buckets, and don't provide any assistance on understanding the format of the data.

Our company has a personalization service that we want to integrate with Sailthru, but the lack of API support to integrate with external systems, is making this more difficult than it needs to be.

While the visual editor templates support drag & drop "what-you-see-is-what-you-get design", their overlays (on-site lightboxes) still require Designer resources who know CSS/HTML.

SailThru offers personalized messaging, smart automated & triggered messaging, in-app user profiles with key data able to be segmented using audience builder, robust analytics, and more! It's nice I don't have any point to find regarding the system, so I like why it has worked differently, it has allowed us to automate our original marketing and allow us to expand our client portfolio and so now it is much more complete in the sense of digital marketing so it is much more detailed and for this reason it reaches more clients and automates this point of the company.

Loyalty - it really does pay to not switch CRM tools every few years. I'd recommend building a good rapport over a number of years with your chosen platform, the benefits can often outweigh the small upside of saving a few £'s. This does not mean you do not challenge them when the tough questions come round.

Customer focussed - the support I've received is second to none. After the first year of using Sailthru, the main reason for signing up to a second term with Sailthru was due to the timely support I received in the critical first year of setting up Sailthru. 

Staying one step ahead - Sailthru values feedback, they are always looking to find out what makes us marketers tick, and with that build solutions to fit our needs. 

In the four years I have used Sailthru I have seen the tool make huge steps forwards, mainly in adding new features, revamping the look and feel of the product.

Also, ever wondered what is the best time to send an email? Well the answer is, it's different for each customer/user. Sailthru has a tool out of the box which will help you personalise the send time for each customer.

The customer service is excellent. Inquires are dealt with in a speedy and professional manner.

The new template builder is more the email builder now and therefore needs some more functionality like copy & paste from one "template" to another (apparently in progress). Sailthru's API allows us to constantly update customer data and custom variables on every customer to monitor their promotions, their eligibility for certain promotions or marketing.
The web interface has elements which could do with a revamp but it's functionally pretty well equipped for most tasks. 
Even hunting through the history of a campaign's emails or a customer's received emails over their lifetime is super fast.. Analysis of any big sales campaign is super well visualized so we know how much revenue we're generating in real time.

**What do you dislike about Sailthru by Marigold?**

Custom variables on older customers can become rather cluttered - but we do have the option of deleting older and unused variables, which we should make use of!
Not being able to access certain user information in the lifecycle optimizer has frustrated us. The Lifetime Value and Lifetime Num Purchases information is available through their APIs and in the customer's view on the site but not accessible inside a lifecycle optimizer, for example. What this means is that we cannot exclude customers from certain cheaper marketing tactics if they have a strong history of purchase behavior with us. If we want that, we have to record our own custom vars to do with LTV and RPR ourselves.

We manage all of our email communication through Sailthru. It knows when to send the email using personalized send time for each customer to have the best chance of it being opened and clicked on. It tracks all revenue, click rate and open rate. It lets us manage a lifecycle of emails where we send a series of emails until the person makes a purchase. It allows us to A/B split test different ideas for an email to see which one performs better (eg. showing a discount percentage vs. showing the discounted price vs. hiding the discount and price altogether).

Sailthru is the newsletter sending tool of one of my clients. We use it to orchestrate and deploy email campaigns, notably promotional newsletters and triggers. We use Sailthru as a source to store and manage the segmentation of our subscribers for our campaigns.

No server for the images. They are automatically renamed by the tool and the HTML code must be adjusted according to the image names chosen by Sailthru, which requires more hours of integration work.

Sailthru is a great platform for email marketers in the ecommerce space. Their platform was build for an ecommerce centric business and have focused alot of their attention around their AI and Predictive Analytics. This has made a huge impact on our success and is what I like most about the platform to date. Their training and documentation as well as support has made it really easy to take action on the platform and feel you have the tools to do so.

One of the major dislikes about this platform is that they were build around 1 business model and that is ecommerce. While my company is an ecommerce business we aren't your traditional ecommerce site. We have alot of specific use cases as it relates to data, tracking, and reporting that Sailthru wasn't able to support during the implementation.

Make sure that if you are not a traditional ecommerce business that you lay out all of your business needs, data needs, etc. before implementing. This would require a proper RFP document to be put in place, but it is definitely worth it!

I would love to see more automated analytics - like optional email reporting and the ability to compare multiple campaigns. Having worked with several different ESPs, I really appreciate Sailthru's efforts to simplify the template building and campaign development stages. I'm able to setup a new template in a matter of minutes instead of hours, and the campaign workbook is very easy to navigate and review before launching a campaign. I've also really enjoyed working with the account and support teams. They have been very responsive and shown significant interest in helping us utilize the application in the best ways possible.

**What do you dislike about Sailthru by Marigold?**

The application requires longer times than desired to process segment counts. I also wish the dashboard would indicated the final send size (lists/segments minus suppression files) on the Confirmation page before launch.

**What problems is Sailthru by Marigold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I really appreciate the efforts Sailthru takes to educate users about its product. That has certainly driven wider adoption and has made my life as a marketer/developer/operations manager much easier.

**What do you like best about Sailthru by Marigold?**

Sailthru is really user-friendly and intuitive. It's easy to add and edit content (for the most part), and the data about mailings (clicks, opens, etc.) are great and accessible.

**What do you dislike about Sailthru by Marigold?**

My biggest complaint is how slow each page is to load. Sometimes it will take up to 30 seconds (or longer!) for drop-down menus to appear, images to reload, previews to load, etc. It's almost frustrating enough to not use Saithru at all.

**What problems is Sailthru by Marigold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building and editing newsletters; benefits include previews, easily switching out photos, and not needed to load urls on our own (they autofill).

**What do you like best about Sailthru by Marigold?**

I have really appreciated Sailthru's account management and customer service efforts. My dedicated account manager is always responsive and quick to work on finding any solutions to problems that occur. They also have a great customer service team that does the same. 

**What do you dislike about Sailthru by Marigold?**

While I don't think this is a large downside and it's easily helped, I think there is a slight learning curve that comes with Sailthru, especially for those who haven't worked in email marketing before. 

**What problems is Sailthru by Marigold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sailthru has given us the possibility to send several different weekly email campaigns to our users that are attractive and clean-looking. They've also helped troubleshoot and solve random problems/issues that tend to pop up every so often, like a high bounce rate, a sending issue, or something else.

**What do you like best about Sailthru by Marigold?**

The reporting dashboard capabilities are better than any other provider I've worked with. It is easy to get total send and open numbers when A/B testing. Instead of manual addition. 

**What do you dislike about Sailthru by Marigold?**

To get at the detailed link clicks, however, I still have to open up each report and manually add each click. It would be nice if custom URL clicks could either be elevated into a dashboard or downloaded into a spreadsheet to which could be pivoted. 

**What problems is Sailthru by Marigold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've just started to embark on personalizing our emails. We're eager to see how this might increase engagement and clicks to our website.
