What languages does TriNet PEO support?

TriNet PEO supports 1 language: English.

What company sizes and industries is TriNet PEO the best fit for?

Positive-rated use clusters around small businesses and mid-market organizations, with users represented across several industries.
  • Small businesses: 50 or fewer employees.
  • Mid-market organizations: 51–1,000 employees.
  • Technology: Information technology and services and computer software.
  • Education and nonprofits: Education management and nonprofit organization management.
  • Healthcare and financial services: Hospital and health care, medical devices, and financial services.

How long does it take to implement TriNet PEO across a team?

Implementation most often takes less than a month. Some teams report longer rollouts, including periods of one to three months.

What customer support options does TriNet PEO provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

TriNet PEO provides 24/7 live-rep support, along with chat and phone support. The experience can be responsive and helpful, particularly for straightforward questions, while complex issues may take longer or involve follow-up and routing between teams.

What is the experience like for teams switching to TriNet PEO from another tool?

Switching to TriNet PEO is often about bringing scattered HR, payroll, and benefits services together, or finding broader benefits, support, or functionality than a previous system provided. The experience is described as smoother when setup and guidance are clear, though the transition can involve a learning curve.
  • Consolidation: Replacing separate tools or providers with a more centralized set of HR services.
  • Broader coverage: Seeking more complete benefits, HR support, or payroll functionality.
  • Cost and fit: Moving for pricing or to better support the organization’s needs as it grows.

What features or capabilities could make TriNet PEO even more useful?

The clearest opportunities to make TriNet PEO more useful are smoother navigation and more consistent workflows across the platform. Teams also want clearer time-off information and a more capable mobile experience.
  • Simplify navigation: Make frequently used tasks easier to find and reduce extra clicks or jumps to separate sites.
  • Improve time and PTO tools: Make balances, accruals, approvals, and team calendars easier to understand and manage.
  • Expand mobile functionality: Bring more of the desktop experience into the mobile app and streamline time entry.
  • Strengthen reporting and customization: Provide more flexible reports and dashboards suited to each team’s needs.

Is TriNet PEO considered safe and secure for handling data?

Account security comes up most often in connection with repeated identity checks at sign-in. Some users appreciate the added verification, while others find having to complete it so frequently inconvenient; that experience alone does not establish how securely other data is handled.

"Fast , Extremely User-Friendly, and Backed by Responsive Customer Service"
5/5
What do you like best about TriNet PEO?

I love how trident makes it extremely easy to keep your same help benefits and health insurance options as your prior years and can keep it the same with the click of a button. Makes taxes 100% easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet PEO?

only thing I would say trident can improve is making it easier and user friendly to edit the hours your taking off for the day etc like if you just wanted to take a half day off 4 hours for me I have to go in and edit the times it took me some time and had to contact customer service. "Competitive Benefits Rates for Small Businesses"
4/5
What do you like best about TriNet PEO?

I like that they pool together many companies to give competitive rates on health/dental/vision. This is especially good for small businesses who usually have overall more expensive and less comprehensive benefits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet PEO?

I think that their website can be clunky, I think that there could be more benefit in updating their website to be a bit more user friendly and doesn't require you to be sent to a new page outside of the TriNet website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Benefits Enrollment, Though Document Requests Need Clarity"
4.5/5
What do you like best about TriNet PEO?

I use TriNet PEO as an HR portal for my new job. It makes it easier for me to compare, manage, and enroll in benefits in one place, and to handle sensitive payroll information. I like the straightforward enrollment process, clear plan comparisons, mobile app access, and having 2FA all in one place. I also like that it has an AI assistant. The initial setup was straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet PEO?

I found that the initial document requests seemed to use older systems, and some processes asked for information without clear steps on how to provide it. A more modern UI would be nice, though that feels like nitpicking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined HR and Compliance, but Syncing Errors Can Cause Headaches"
3.5/5
What do you like best about TriNet PEO?

TriNet automates a lot of processes that are often onerous and time-consuming. I came from an organization that handled everything separately, so after moving to a PEO organization using TriNet, I was frequently surprised by how much was simply done for us automatically. For example, tax registration in different states when hiring remote employees and navigating the laws around hiring and terminations across different states are handled in a way that saves a massive amount of time, especially for smaller organizations without dedicated legal and HR departments.

The HR features are useful, and when I’ve needed support, I’ve generally received it in a timely manner that resolved my issues from the administrative and management side. The main platform is also easy to navigate, and the integration with its hiring tools, including access to DISA background check for candidates, makes the overall experience more streamlined. What do you dislike about TriNet PEO?

Some of the modules have syncing errors that cause real headaches. The basic Time and Attendance Module that my organization uses to track staff time has had multiple issues where employee's "master files" are temporarily combined. A resync fixes the problem, but depending on the day, or if it happens on a day payroll is due it can be a headache. This is a once in a quarter type issue, but it's happened enough I've had to submit multiple tickets.

No technology or system is perfect, but we've run into several technical problems where the payroll system made errors regarding deductions for a single employee, not systemic errors thankfully, but caused problems for that employee. We even had an issue where a terminated employee wasn't officially dropped from the benefits because the Zenefits platform that TriNet owns didn't properly process it's own termination. The automation has benefits, but there will always have to be oversight required, because if you rely on it to do everything, something will inevitably go wrong. "Clear, Intuitive UI with Easy Access to 401k and Benefits"
4.5/5
What do you like best about TriNet PEO?

The layout/UI is clear and intuitive to use! It also has links to my 401k and benefits for reference anytime. I have not had any performance issues with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet PEO?

I use it to enter my weekly work hours, and I don't like that it links me to a separate version of trinet to do that (https://trinet.cloud.centralservers.com/ instead of trinet.hrpassport) - it should be integrated into this interface. Also, the cloud central version I mentioned has a less useful / clear layout and honestly looks a bit too colorful and almost childish. This version of Trinet has a far better and more professional appearance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"No State Tax Setup Needed—A Big Time-Saver"
4.5/5
What do you like best about TriNet PEO?

I don’t have to set up a state income tax and withholding account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet PEO?

TriNet PTO report: the end-of-year PTO balance shown was not the true balance. Auditor looks at the year end balance and I need to run two reports. (12/31 ending and 1/15th balance and ensure the balance) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive and attractive Platform for Managing Paychecks, Benefits, and Pay Options"
4.5/5
What do you like best about TriNet PEO?

I can view and manage all my paycheck and benefit options in one easy-to-use platform. It’s especially nice that we can adjust the Money > Pay Options ourselves without having to call in. Yes I am getting my money's worth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet PEO?

It would be great to be able to view and manage FSA details directly within the platform, without needing to go to a separate site. Also, on a mobile device, it’s difficult to enter work time entries when it requires using a separate app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"TriNet’s HR Expertise and Support Make Payroll, Benefits, and Compliance Easy"
5/5
What do you like best about TriNet PEO?

TriNet is often most valuable for its combination of HR technology and hands-on HR expertise. Rather than providing only software, TriNet helps businesses manage payroll, benefits, compliance, risk management, and employee onboarding while offering access to HR professionals who can provide guidance on complex employment matters. This support can reduce administrative workload, help companies stay compliant with regulations, and allow leaders to focus more on growing their business, making Support and Onboarding one of TriNet’s strongest advantages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet PEO?

One area where TriNet is often viewed as less compelling is its AI and intelligence capabilities. While the platform excels in HR support, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance services, it is generally not known for advanced AI-powered analytics, automation, or predictive insights compared with some newer HR technology providers. Additionally, because TriNet combines software with outsourced HR services, some organizations may find the pricing higher than software-only alternatives, which can affect perceived ROI for businesses that do not require extensive HR support. "Organized Pages Make Time Off and Benefits Easy in TriNet"
4/5
What do you like best about TriNet PEO?

I like how organized the page is. The time off tab and benefits tab is were I explore the most on triNet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet PEO?

I really dont like when trinet takes you to an external page when you are navigating the website. I know it doesnt take long to leave TriNet and open up another site, however, it can get annoying when the prompt opens explaining that you are leaving Trinet for another link. "Intuitive Dashboard Makes Pay and Benefits Easy to Find"
5/5
What do you like best about TriNet PEO?

It’s easy to find information about my pay and benefits. The dashboard has a very intuitive UX, and I’m never more than a few clicks away from the information I’m looking for or the task I need to take care of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet PEO?

It would be really helpful if my employer integrated the paid time off request feature into TriNet and also synced our company paid holidays within TriNet. Ideally, all of these features would be available in TriNet so I wouldn’t have to log into multiple, disconnected portals to manage time off and holiday information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
