Cognota has a lot of data, and while the Insights and flexible Dashboards are good, they're lacking on being able to apply governance on the data (e.g, any projects or tasks past due date?) and to tell a story for our stakeholders. The team capacity is a bit cumbersome to use due to historical projects appearing per assignee, regardless of project status (e.g. don't show it if it's cancelled, or completed) and timeline. Lastly, the way effort is spread out across assignees and time frames (and how the estimated still takes up capacity even if the actual effort is updated). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that Cognota is very simple and easy to use. The dashboards are easy to read, and you can create executive reporting from them. I also appreciate all the features and capabilities that allow me to provide ROI on programs and projects, as well as align with the business goals from a strategic standpoint. The ability to monitor and track all initiatives tied to the business is valuable. Additionally, the dashboards are a big help because I don't have to search for information. They include filters and options to custom-make dashboards, which is very helpful. The transition to Cognota was seamless, making everything easy compared to Microsoft Planner. There is nothing else like it. The ability to streamline our learning request intake from stakeholders is a game-changer. Then, being able to convert that request into a project that can be managed using the L&D project flow really reduces project management time and provides quick, easy visibility into a project's health. I use Cognota as our L&D Project Management platform. It's intuitive and navigation is easy to follow. Our internal clients have visibility of the training requests they submit, which is really beneficial. I also never heard the team say the setup was difficult, so that's a plus. I find it challenging to clean up requests that didn't move forward. Particularly those that shouldn't have been submitted as training requests because they should be handled by a different department. Also, it's not integrated with any of our other systems. The downside to using Cognota is your become completely reliant on this product! The only downside that I have experienced is that there are some glitches on the exams when the design is scormed and added into an LMS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I would say the easy-to-understand UI and configuration portal make it one of the easiest tools I've helped implement in my career. It doesn't try to reinvent the wheel. It uses the best methods available to get your L&D on track as efficiently as possible. This is especially useful for any L&D team that hasn't previously utilized a platform for things like utilization metrics and organizing process flows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The tools available for exporting and importing data have been somewhat limited, and there can be some parts of the platform that are not quite as intuitive as I think they could be. I like that my customers can submit requests that can then be approved and turned into projects quickly and easily. I like the ability to track the actual hours spent on a task and not just the projected hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
