What do you dislike about SmartSuite?
The SmartSuite interface is not easy to navigate for what should be an immediately-visible one-click task. When i first login it comes up with Employee Portal - Request Submission, but no sign of time-tracking. I scroll down to HR & People Operations and click Project Time Entry (CAPX/OPEX) and a popup note tells me to "access Paycom for employee time tracking or continue to access project time tracking to submit weekly timesheets via this timesheets dashboard." I didn't know there were different types of employee time tracking and have no idea the meaning of CAPX/OPEX and no idea what is the meaning of a "timesheets dashboard." Fortunately I didn't go back to (the easy & intuitive) PayCom method, only because the changeover email said to use SmartSuite instead. Thankfully, Timesheet Dashboards - My Timesheets comes up as a default once I click continue in the popup note.
I don't understand the purpose of the Views column on the left, nor why I would want to Create New View and have no idea why I might need to use the "Timesheet Dashboards" or the "Timesheets" "Projects" "Allocations" options next to it. (After all i just wanted to update a timesheet, not learn all the options of a new application.) Going into any of those left me confused, so I backed out to My Timesheet to enter my time:
1) Luckily the Date Range was correct because a click on it didn't allow me to change it. Why not?
2) There is no Save button and nothing to tell me if my entries will be saved automatically. Why not?
3) I thought about clicking the green "Submit Timesheet" button to Save, but resisted out of concern that once I submitted this timesheet it would be locked - with no visible means to unlock it! Why not?
4) No column totals display as in PayCom so I have to scroll up then down to visually total each day of the week to be sure I didn't exceed 8hrs-per-day
5) The 12 rows in the grid are padded so much that I have to do more up/down scrolling than in Excel
6) The worst part of this excess scrolling (in 4 & 5 above) is that the column headers don't stick, which leads to even more scrolling!
7) The "Total Hrs" column doesn't get updated on a real-time basis which makes that column mostly useless, especially since the totals row at the top is actively updated Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
